Fantastic experience: Dr Matt Lanz is a gifted dentist. He is able to craft caps, implants and other replacements that match my existing teeth so they don’t appear artificial. Surprisingly, he does this quickly. Furthermore— this is an important point — he does it nearly painlessly. He is by far the best dentist I’ve ever encountered.

Fantastic experience: Do you have really bad teeth and are afraid of the dentist like me? Read on: My first appointment with Dr. Matt Lanz was for a consultation surrounding significant structural and cosmetic work that I desperately wanted (and needed) to have done to save my teeth and improve my smile. I entered this office knowing this work would be extensive and involve multiple dental specialties which only added to the anxiety of the undertaking. I’m sure others can relate. Pre-work: Following the initial exam, Dr. Matt gave incredibly thorough recommendations on how to approach my situation - timelines, course of action, and customized planning. I felt like every decision was made to achieve the best possible outcome. My questions and concerns were always addressed and I never felt like a bystander in the process. Everything that was planned was very strategic in nature and well thought out; unlike other practices I’ve visited. The “pre-work” planning solidified my decision to use this practice for what I needed. Doing the work: Mileage may vary for what you’re having done, but for me, this was a lot of hours in a chair. Matt’s work was incredible, both technically and creatively and the work that was done was outstanding. He was meticulous in his work and spent as much time as needed to ensure what was done was correct. You immediately have the sense that he takes a great deal of pride in his work and truly values his clients’ interests and is a “get it right” dentist as opposed to a “get it done” dentist (we’ve all seen those before). Matt and his assistant, Sam, were professional, compassionate, and flexible during the process and I never once had doubts as to the level of expertise I was receiving. As someone who has had significant dental issues their entire life and seen many dentists, I feel well positioned to recommend this practice to anyone. Whether you’re like me, having a full mouth reconstruction, or my wife, who gets a cleaning twice a year and never has a cavity, this practice will meet your needs and treat you right while doing so. Nobody WANTS to go to the dentist and a lot of us downright hate it, but considering we have to do it, go to a dentist whose professionalism and skill is on full display every time you walk into the room; which it is here. I’d be remiss not to mention the incredible supporting cast and the administrative side of things. Nina and Christine at the front desk are remarkable and scheduling, billing, follow ups, etc., have been seamless. To be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever sat in the waiting room for more than 2 minutes before being called back. There are a lot of dentists to choose from in Pittsburgh. Save yourself the time and call this one.

Negative experience: My husband has brought them 3 times and never once spoke with or met the dentist . Once he was told there is no dentist in the building. We never got a call or anything about the X-rays etc.

Negative experience: Christine that works at the front desk was unprofessional and spoke with an attitude. I simply asked for an exam report because my son was referred for wisdom teeth removal and the girls could not understand why this was requested. When I asked, she said we don’t do that here. She said, with an attitude, that they could put something together whenever the hygienist has time to add notes. I asked to see and have a copy of the X-ray showing his wisdom teeth, since I sat outside during his exam and he was only given the referral when he left. Again, attitude… she said she could try to print it but couldn’t guarantee quality. It’s unfortunate because we like Dr. Lanz. My hope is that this review will be a motivation to have the office staff trained in customer service.

Fantastic experience: Let me tell you 5 ⭐️ across the board. Not only did they get me in last minute when another dentist canceled. They made me feel comfortable and made a rotten tooth a pleasant experience lol Dr Lanz was awesome and even referred me to his root canal guy all around what a great practice. Fantastic experience: As but one example of the care provided by this practice, I lost a crown on Tuesday night, made an appointment early on Wednesday morning, and by late Wednesday morning I had an underlying cavity filled and a temporary crown in place. That is at least five-star care!

Fantastic experience: My two year old son accidentally fell and hit his tooth really hard earlier today. The pediatrician advised my wife and I to take our son to a dentist or the ER immediately. I called Dr. Lanz and Associates to see if they might be able to check out my son. Upon mentioning the urgency of the situation, the office said they'd see him asap. Dr. Lanz and his staff/assistants were exceptionally professional and concerned, and Dr. Lanz personally evaluated my son. He was thorough with his evaluation of my son’s tooth and fully explained / answered our questions. He also made a professional recommendation to get my son the help/procedure he needed in as short amount of time as possible. I am already a patient of Dr. Lanz and Associates and was so happy with and appreciative of the extra effort and concern for my son’s well-being. I had a great visit with Dentist Matt Lanz yesterday (3/13/24), who was strongly recommended to us by another dentist, Richard Bauer. Nina at the front office was super helpful and kind prior to the visit on the phone and in person too. Samantha was the best dental assistant, whom my wife and I have ever encountered in a dental office. My wife had over 20 questions ranging from oral hygiene to implants procedures and Samantha graciously and patiently answered all of them. Samantha was not just super knowledgeable but also kind and positive throughout the appointment. Doctor Matt Lanz did a wonderful job putting a cap on an affected tooth and took extra time to ensure that the cap was a good fit. Doctor Lanz was also very patient in answering all our questions in addition to doing a great job. My wife and I are so happy that we found Doctor Lanz and his team as our new primary dentist. Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Matt on an emergency visit and it was such a great experience. The office staff were great, The doctor went out of his way to take care of my dental needs , would recommend him highly.

Negative experience: I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the front desk staff at this dental office, particularly Christine. I repeatedly asked Christine for the cost of my upcoming dental work weeks before my visit. Despite her assurances that she would get back to me, she never did. Each time I followed up, it was as if I was asking for the first time. On the day of my appointment, she was both aggressive and rude when providing the cost information. Additionally, my experience with the dental work by Dr. Nico Delerme was unsatisfactory, leading to further complications. While the dentist seemed competent, the overall experience was marred by the poor service and lack of follow-through by the front desk staff. I would not recommend this office due to the issues with the front desk, and I hope management can address these problems to improve patient experiences in the future.

Fantastic experience: I am a big fan of this practice. It is a beautiful and well-maintained space. My three kids are treated with kindness and respect and playfulness. The hygienists are super helpful and even had copies of paperwork for the school that I had forgotten at home! The doctors are friendly and professional and great with kids. I would recommend them to any family. They make it super easy to care for my kids!

Fantastic experience: We’ve always had solid experiences here over the past few years, but this review is specifically to give a shout out to Hygienist Paige who was awesome today with my 2.5 year old at his first ever dental appointment!

Positive experience: Not so sure how I feel, seems like every time I’m there for routine cleaning there’s always issues either Gums bleeding, cavities, clinching ,plaque buildup, I’ve been called a clincher. Today I was told I need to see a periodontist for an evaluation, but the bad thing is they don’t except insurance. I never seemed to have all these issues with my old dentist for routine cleaning, I truly feel I take care of my teeth but may have inherited some bad genes or something. I also was asked if I ever considered coming every 4 months to help keep the plaque down, but my insurance will not cover the extra visit and to be honest I don’t feel comfortable enough. I know there all professionals but give me a positive vibe for once.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a very badly cracked tooth extracted by Dr. Nico Delerme, D.M.D at Lanz Associates in Dentistry in Mt.Lebanon. It was my first procedure at Lanz other than regular teeth cleaning, which is always done very thoroughly. I was apprehensive about the procedure and was not familiar with Dr. Nico. It had been over 30 years since I had a tooth removed! Dr. Nico showed me my x-rays and clearly explained why I needed the extraction including all my future options. When he extracted the tooth, he precisely prepared me for each step. It was so painless that I hadn't realized he completed the procedure. He showed me the tooth that needed to be removed in parts, as well as my post removal steps to great healing. I just had the stitches removed today....again clearly & painlessly done. I highly recommend Dr.Nico and his assistant, Alison, as well as the front desk staff at Lanz. They all made me feel very comfortable. Everyone is professional & helpful. It is always wonderful to have a positive experience when dealing with a dental issue. I will definitely recommend Dr. Nico to my friends and return myself. Thank you.
