Fantastic experience: Atlas Dental Specialists are the absolute best. I have many issues with my jaw. Limited opening and fixed bite. I have 2 Specialists that work with me and I only schedule with them. The care, compassion, knowledge, experience that I receive is far above what I ever expected. I highly recommend Atlas Dental Specialists for any dental needs you may need.

Fantastic experience: My hygienist, Gina, is fantastic. Caring and very knowledgeable too. Dr Kasey is also amazing! She took her time to explain a few things to me and put me at ease. Definitely best office.

Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Atlas Dental. I've been with them for a number of years and their service is excellent and their staff are top of the line in every regard. They are the ultimate professionals in their field and I have recommended them to a number of my friends and co-workers. I would never consider going anywhere else. They have dental insurance available, which helps a lot and they are most accommodating to any situation or need you may have. They always greet me with a smile and will make yours look GREAT.

Fantastic experience: I have never been to a dental office that is filled with so much respect and patience. From the moment you walk in you are just treated so nicely! Everything was explained in detail to me and I felt heard when voicing my concerns and previous experiences. I am excited to begin my treatment plan here.

Negative experience: I came here on a friend’s recommendation. The office itself is very modern and polished, but it’s located in a rundown building. To leave the office, you actually have to call or text an elevator repair person to bring the elevator to your floor, which is pretty inconvenient. There’s also no parking, and they don’t validate garage parking, so you’re paying out of pocket just to attend your appointment. At my first visit, they ran a full assessment using their high-tech scanners, and the doctor came in afterward. The doctor was pleasant enough...no warmth or humor, but that didn’t bother me. What did bother me was that no actual care was provided. The model seems to be: assess you, give you a cleaning, then send you on your way with a “plan.” After the visit, I started getting texts about all the things I could do and all the cleanings I could schedule. I booked a follow-up appointment and asked what would actually be done at that visit. I was told they’d do another cleaning and then “see what happens.” Even after a full initial assessment, there was still no clarity about what treatment I actually needed or would receive. On the day of my second appointment, I was called in to work unexpectedly (I’m a nurse) and needed to reschedule. I called at 8:00 AM for a 1:00 PM appointment (six hours’ notice) and was immediately charged a $50 missed visit fee. Apparently, even that amount of notice isn’t acceptable. As others have mentioned, this place feels like a money machine and seems best suited for office workers popping in on a lunch break. Unfortunately, my experience was frustrating from start to finish, and I won’t be returning.

Fantastic experience: New to Pittsburgh and had to find a dentist quickly to manage a pressing issue. I had a couple recommendations for Atlas and I feel like I really lucked out. They have been truly great to work with. I’ve had the opportunity to work with 2 hygienists and 2 different doctors there, and all of them have been top notch !

Fantastic experience: I visited Atlas after putting off work I really needed from a head I took to the face. The vibes are pretty spot on. I have a lot of anxiety around the dentist; cliché I know, but it’s true. I gotta say, everyone here is so chill, I don’t *want* to have to come back, but I don’t mind it to be honest, and that’s a win as far as I’m concerned. Seriously, they’re incredibly down to earth, kind people. I don’t think I review a lot of things, but felt like this one was very warranted since this is how I chose them.

Fantastic experience: Staff is always friendly, office very clean, staff knows their job duties and does a great job cleaning my teeth and x-rays. They are very knowledgeable and answers all of my questions. Stacie Ballard always introduces me to the new staff. I recommend this practice to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Adding on to my review from years ago: I am still going to Atlas Dental, even when they were not part of my dental insurance at a previous job. They're THAT good. I have dreaded the dentist my entire life. I avoided going for YEARS (do not recommend) following college and then finally summoned the courage to find a new dentist and actually get a cleaning. From the moment you sign in, everyone is kind and welcoming. Every member of the staff has a great bedside manner, and they make recommendations without being forceful. I truly will not go anywhere else! Adding on to my review from several years ago - I have continued to utilize Atlas Dental for all of my dental needs and I cannot say enough good things about their professionalism and incredible service. Even though I don't work downtown anymore, I still won't go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dr. Mara and Dr. Nick for a complex problem. Dr. Mara is a perfectionist who cares deeply about both functionality and aesthetics. Fantastic experience: Though I've just started my journey from rotten teeth to dentures, so far this place has been amazing! The entire staff were professional, kind, fun! I've always been petrified of dentists, but I felt comfortable in their capable hands. They're coming up with a plan that works FOR me! Since it was my first appointment with them they did all the x-rays, scans, etc. and it felt very thorough. The staff was friendly and everything the said and did felt well explained!

It was all I could ask for. 1st, Angela, the hygienist, came to the lobby for me promptly at 2. 2nd, the time with Angela was a pleasure. Fantastic experience: Atlas Dental Specialists have been taking care of my teeth for more than 15 years. The dental chair is not my favorite place to be, but Dr. Mara Mangini has eased me through crowns, replacement fillings, and recently Invisalign therapy for crowded teeth. Dr. Mara approaches every dental challenge with confidence, excellent patient education, and her fun sense of humor. The staff are always friendly but also very professional. I live in Downtown Pittsburgh, and whenever a Downtown resident is seeking a new dental practice I refer them to Atlas Dental.

Last week one of my caps came off while flossing . Making an appointment to have it put back on was easy and today I’m less than 30 minutes I no longer look like a hockey player. Fantastic experience: Fantastic dental services and a cool office! Very convenient for those working downtown or live nearby. Dr. Schock did an excellent job with my filling and works very quickly. I could barely feel anything and the filling was very smooth and matched the natural surface of the tooth perfectly. My hygienist was also great to work with and did excellent work. I also like the fluoride treatment they use too, it's less sticky and irritating than others I've had.

A real know-how team! To name a few: Judy at the front desk is welcoming and thorough and seems to know how to take care of everything! Derek, a dental assistant is so professional and great at his job, he should be a dentist! Sam, the dental hygienist is simply the best! She cleans and examines every detail relative to oral health care and doesn’t make you feel bad if you’re not flossing as much as you should. Natalie, the office manager was so very helpful with an insurance issue. She listened and took charge of the matter and followed it all the way through. The entire team at the Shadyside Office is terrific! The Atlas practice isn’t even in my insurance network and I’d still not go anywhere else but Atlas for my dental needs!

Spouse had a crown replaced and it was done in a single reasonably short visit. I had a filling replaced and that went efficiently and pretty painlessly. Quality of work in both cases was excellent. Eve actually makes me feel like my mouth situation is important and that's wayyy more than almost every other office I was in contact with. Fantastic experience: The practice is very friendly and professional. Amazingly well organized practice and strictly following COVID-19 mitigation measures. The office is attractive and is in a good downtown location. I leave the office feeling informed about my dental health and confident about my care. State-of- the-art dentistry with digital imaging, computer-aided-design of crowns, and the best trained dentists, hygienists, and assistants! This is an August 2024 update on my previous post. Everything still holds true. Only want to add that I had some new work done by "Dr. Mara" and she was wonderful. She is a perfect blend of technical skill and artistry. I left the office feeling better and looking better. February 2025 update: I am still amazed about how professional and personable everyone is at this office. The dental care is state-of-the-art, and their proactive advice is always helpful. Update August 2025. Atlas remains the top choice for dental care. The dentists and hygienists are very skilled and perform a comprehensive exam, communicate well with the patients, and are friendly. The clerical staff is always friendly, professional, and efficient.
