Fantastic experience: Madison is a dental hygienist at Certus who has cared for all the members of my family so well, with care, & with expertise. She is caring, kind, efficient, and gives needed instruction thoughtfully. We are grateful for her excellent care. And Dr. Herock has been our trusted, kind, thoughtful, and gifted dentist for over 10 years now. We are very grateful for his excellent care. The office staff is kind, patient, friendly, and extremely helpful. I strongly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: I get afraid at the dentist, and I was surprised at how calm your staff made me feel. The amount of work they did on me surprised me. There was a very pleasant atmosphere around me and I actually, to my surprise, felt staff cared about me. The level of professionalism, cordiality, level of technology…was something I’d not experienced very often at dentist. As an aside the lack of wait and down time was minimal. I’ll undoubtedly be sharing this positive experience with my Senior Citizen neighbors (I live in a Senior Citizen facility) who are often sharing their miserable dental experiences.

Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough good things about this office. Abby, the dental hygienist, was an absolute angel — warm, gentle, and incredibly thoughtful. As a new mom, I came in feeling very anxious about my teeth and my smile, and she immediately put me at ease. There was zero judgment, only kindness and reassurance. She explained everything so clearly, checked in throughout the appointment, and made what could have been a stressful visit feel calm and comfortable. The dentist was equally wonderful — professional, caring, and thorough. The entire team made me feel genuinely cared for from start to finish. This was hands down one of the best dental experiences I’ve ever had, and I’m so grateful to have found such an amazing practice. I would recommend them to anyone, especially if you feel nervous or anxious about dental visits.

Fantastic experience: As always, everyone is very nice and pleasant when I come here, I was in for a teeth cleaning, and I’ve never had anyone clean my teeth as well as they did. Very happy I found Certus Dental.

Negative experience: My son indicated this was a very painful cleaning. He asked the hygienist to be gentler, but she wasn’t. My husband also gave the same review after his last visit; therefore, I’m wondering if it was the same hygienist. I really think this needs to be addressed with her.

Negative experience: I had my worst experience there in the 10+ years I had been going. I was called back 25 minutes late. The person cleaning my teeth took over an hour to call me back to get my teeth cleaned after images were taken, and for the first time, they did my teeth examination before the cleaning. I’ve learned there’s no synergy or communication among colleagues in the field, as the people I’d ask questions to would have no idea what’s going on when I ask them. My teeth cleaner (redhead) was rude and horrible. She flossed my teeth like a seesaw (which dentists have told me not to do) to the point of extreme pain in my gums (I floss regularly), and she rushed through my overall cleaning after we started an hour late. She made a diagnosis based on my dental examination and then said she doesn’t make the call on those things (when you don’t know what dentists regularly talk about, don’t confuse a patient's opinion with your own). Lastly, she was just plain rude. Will not be making an appearance there ever again, but again, they don’t care since the overall focus is revenue, profit, and repeat customers due to poor health, not helping people be there the least amount possible.

Fantastic experience: Had 1 hour appointment to gather baseline data (xrays, 3D imaging, and numerous measurements). Dr Schelling, Brittany, & Kim explained all the testing along with the whys. Great experience!

Fantastic experience: Started going here maybe 10 years ago, maybe less. I should visit dentist more often as I think I have been there 5 times. Place might have a different name than when I started but I’ve seen 3 different dentists and all 3 were great, very nice people.

Positive experience: It was not as great as my usual visits. I was asked to wear sunglasses that didn’t look especially clean. The dentist, Dr Shelly, seemed hurried.

Fantastic experience: I've been going for 20+ years. Dr. Herock is professional and laid back. Staff is friendly, the office is clean. I totally trust them with my teeth. Scheduling is also accommodating. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a dentist.

Fantastic experience: Always professional and upfront about cost of care

Positive experience: The staff here are all really friendly and helpful for the most part. The hygienists vary, though. Sometimes they're really great, but there is one in particular that despite being very nice, is way more harsh and also forces you to wear glasses before she'll work on you, even just for a cleaning. My husband and I both agree that our mouths are so sore for a couple of days when we end up with her, but that's not the case with the others. My husband recently had Abby, who was thorough yet caused no pain, and didn't make him wear sunglasses. Dr. Herock was always awesome, but we haven't seen him in quite a while. If I was rating the building itself, I'd give it one star. The actual office is clean enough, but the rest of the building and the property are a mess and are filthier each time we're there (to the point where we're considering going elsewhere). The parking lot is like driving on the moon. Overall, I'd recommend Certus if you don't mind the issues with the property, and if you get lucky enough to see Dr. Herock or to have one of the gentler hygienists (or at least to not get the rough-handed, sunglasses-enforcer).

Fantastic experience: Was another pleasant trip to the dentist Dr Heroc was as always pleasant,efficient and thorough. Took care of my problem. I would recommend him .

Negative experience: Hygienist was nice, but I don’t understand how in less than a year I went from 0 cavities to 13…seems like they just want your money.

Fantastic experience: Recently had Abby as my hygienist for a cleaning. Abby was great! Professional, friendly and informative! I have had other hygienist at this location who work their tools like a jack hammer and it feels like they blame you for your bleeding gums. Certainly hope to work with Abby again on future visits!

Negative experience: I had Riley for a basic cleaning. She was so aggressive with her cleaning I had to tell her to back off. I have never had this problem. I had a headache that afternoon.

Fantastic experience: It was a great cleaning by Abby. My only concern was that I was initially going to be cancelled since I didn't answer my phone during the previous day to confirm the next day's appointment. I cannot always get messages or answer my phone at work! Luckily I was able to see the message when I got to my car that day and quickly returned the call. I would have been ticked if I had been cancelled!!! Usually there is a text days before for confirmation, but there wasn't.

Positive experience: Ive been coming here for probably well over 10 years and typically I never had an issue until this time, had a hygienist that was filling in for my usual hygienist who is on maternity leave. I felt like my enamel was being scraped away, she never gave me the suction unless I asked (the 1st time she told me I could swallow my spit, I told her I don't want to swallow the junk she was scraping off) I proceeded to need to ask every time. She didnt measure my gum lines. She pressed way too hard during brushing and never gave me a rinse, I had to ask the dentist when she came to check me over. Although she may have been new, 1, has she NEVER been in the chair before? 2, she was supposed to be trained. I told my family her name and told them make sure they don't get her

Negative experience: i just had the worst experience in a dental cleaning appointment. It was so painful.

Fantastic experience: We have been coming to Certus Dental Care for eight years- since we moved to the area. Everyone, from the office staff, to the dental hygienists to Dr. Herrock and associates are personable, professional and punctual. I am treated with respect. I never have to wait more than about 5 minutes to be seen. They work well with our insurance. I highly recommend them! Update 8/19/25: I continue to receive great care at Certus Dental and highly recommend them!

Negative experience: Very unprofessional and unethical service. Somehow they want to get patients and screw them with the service they do not need. A third class campany.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was friendly. No one had to wait long to be seen. The receptionist was helpful with my insurance information. The assistant was ready with answers to my questions. Dr. Lopez was excellent and solved my dental problem immediately. Dr. Lopez also patiently answered all of my questions and cleared up all confusion I had about an upcoming procedure. I had a wonderful experience at this Certus office in North Hills.

Positive experience: Staff was very friendly. They were on schedule. The office was pleasant and clean. This was my first visit. I was surprised that they wanted me to make a separate appointment for a cleaning after I had the X-rays and saw the Dr. They said it was just a regular cleaning. I've never had to do that with any other dentist and wasnt happy about it.

Negative experience: Dr Herock is a good dentist and I hate making this review but I am not happy with the service provided in the front end of the operation. We called insurance to see how much an implant cap would be and also confirmed with the front end of the dental office. Came to my appointment with that amount to pay and they tried to come up with a larger amount. All the up front planning and compliance that my wife and I did with insurance to make sure they had everything set in the office, they had no record. Also the smart remark from the lady when walking out was bs. Very unprofessional.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Herock squeezed my mom into his busy schedule to restore her crown so quickly! His associates (my favorite hygienist Abby!) are all friendly and kind, and they clean my teeth so gently and beautifully! There were times it was difficult to make appointments (especially right after COVID), but now I heard they are fully back to the pre-COVID time that it was very easy to make appointments. The receptionists Jonah and Tracey were all very helpful on the phone and texts. My mom and I are big fan of this dentist and highly, highly recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience: I needed a new dentist that had my insurance and I found this place. I really like it so far. I never wait and they are easy to get a hold of on the phone. Also the dentist is professional and takes the time to explain things. After having a recent bad experience somewhere else, this was a nice change.

Negative experience: They failed to call me to confirm the appointment. I didn’t receive any texts or phone calls from them and I showed up to my appointment just to tell me I didn’t confirm the appointment then I showed them that I haven’t received any phone calls or texts. So the lady tried calling me to show me maybe my voicemail is full which was not. Terrible experience wasting my entire day.

Negative experience: The dental hygienist that was supposed to see me was 35 minutes late and because another pro procedure had to be done on my teeth, she could not clean my teeth and I had to reschedule for another day because of her being late to see me and I was not prepared to pay an out-of-pocket to have the procedure done. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Certus for years, and recently went for a cleaning. My appointment was right on time, Madison the hygienist was very friendly (college sports enthusiast) and proficient, as was Dr. Lopez. I've had two crowns done by Dr. Herock in the past, and have had no problems whatsoever with them (vs. friends and family who've had crowns done by other dentists, and who have had many problems). I had a tooth pulled years ago, but implants are very expensive so I haven't gotten an implant yet-- and I appreciate the fact that neither Dr. Herock nor Dr. Lopez have pressured me to get one. My ONLY issue with Certus is the state of the parking lot, building, and building sign, all of which have been on a downhill slide for years. The office itself is very nice, but the building and the rest.... not so much. For their sake (and that of their patients), I hope they move to a new location (that's not too far away) soon.

Fantastic experience: Having had extensive dental work throughout the years, I am thrilled with Dr Herock and his staff. I’ve been going to them for over 10 years and only had one filling and one crown in all that time. Other dentists were always finding something to fix. That is not the case with Dr . Herock and his staff at Certus Dental. They are wonderful!

Fantastic experience: Patty was wonderful, was very informative and answered all my questions, however, i was not real fond of the dentist. Dr lopez i think was her name. It seems I see a different dentist every time I go.

Fantastic experience: Had to get a cavity filled this week—yuck! Dr. Lopez and her assistant Kim we’re the dynamic duo, making sure I was comfortable and that I didn’t feel a thing (which I didn’t). Really, such a pleasant experience considering the circumstances!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lopez was amazing with my anxious teenage son. She made him feel comfortable and listened to all of his concerns. He was so nervous before his appointment and on the drive home he said "I want to go to her forever, she's the best". She explained everything she was doing and even reminded him to stay calm.

Negative experience: I left without scheduling the next appointment because I felt overwhelmed by how much needed to be done and the cost. And I also left without knowing the full cost of treatment and a grand total. The checkout person said that she could provide this and send it to me, but it’s been almost 24 hours and I haven’t received anything.

Positive experience: I was pleased with the appointment, but confused by the directions given afterwards in regards to night guard treatment. There were multiple options and a lot of people talking at once, so I was confused and overwhelmed, so I shut down. It wasn't until I talked to my sister (who accompanied me) that I started to understand the pros and cons.

Fantastic experience: Best place. Ashley the lady that does the cleaning is FANTASTIC. They better hope they never lose her bc I will follow. Great convos, super nice, and made me feel at ease. Never any issue with this place. Jody the dentist is really nice and friendly also
