Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience! I went in at 11am for a root canal in pain. I left shortly after noon with 100% pain relief. Dr. Salil Kawatra is awesome! He is very professional as well as friendly. I am just absolutely amazed to have had such a pain free and quick root canal. Over 24 hours later and I feel as good as new. Not even pain from the numbing injections! This doctor is A+. Thank you so much again!

Fantastic experience: I was scheduled for a possible root canal. However, after redoing my imaging, Dr. Pancake determined that I didn’t need the procedure. He explained my options and was very kind. Everyone in the office was great.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Precision Dental for a root canal to save an abscessed tooth. Dr. Ascencio is the best. I barely felt the anesthetic. He was kind, skilled, and respectful. Caring receptionist Patty checked on me and brought me water while waiting for the anesthetic to take effect. I've never had a doctor actually thank me during a procedure, but HE did, many times. And I've never had an assistant sing to me during a procedure, but SHE did. Sherri helped me communicate and stay calm--no easy task for this white-knuckle flyer. I would go back to them in a heartbeat. They're not just a 5, they're a solid 10!

Fantastic experience: Let me preface by saying, I was always a scaredy-cat when it came to going to the dentist (from a bad childhood experience). I want you to think of your General Dentist as your Primary Care for your dental health. Precision Endodontics is where you go for advanced, skilled, dental care. Dr. Ascencio performed two root canals for me over 10 years ago. I was so nervous! But, I asked him, "What makes you wake up every morning to do this work when you have someone like me in your chair?" His answer was simple and clear; he said, "People come to me in a lot of pain and I get to help them." That spoke volumes to me! So, when my daughter needed some extensive care this summer, I had her come home from NYC just to have Dr. Ascencio's experience and expertise. I recently needed a re-treatment for a root canal, (the orig. root canal was done by a Gen. Dentist, who didn't have the skill-set). For the first time in my life, I wasn't nervous at all. He's calm, skilled, precise and doesn't waste any time, and yet, quite humble. The staff is incredible--friendly and knowledgeable. The dental assistant sang along during the procedure, which I found charming.

I needed an emergency root canal as I was leaving town for several months and only he has ever done any type of root canal work for me. He knows that I have severe claustrophobia and he manages to calm me and conduct the procedure in a manner that does not exasperate my anxiety. I can’t say enough about him. He is wonderful!

Fantastic experience: I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the care I received at this office! From the phone call to set up the appointment to the actual procedure. After dealing with an abscess for a week, I was desperate to find an endodontist to do my root canal. I filled out the online form on Saturday night and by 7:30 Monday morning they called to get me scheduled. They could tell I was in a lot of pain and were able to fit me in the next day. Mandi was super sweet, listened to me and eased my worries. Dr. Ascencio was so kind, calm and talked me through the entire procedure. Although I don’t want to experience an abscess tooth ever again, I would go back to Precision Endodontics in a heartbeat! Thank you so much!

They scheduled me within a week of my referral because of a cancellation, were extremely kind, and this was a tooth that had a previous root canal from a different dentist! Fantastic experience: Round #1: Precision Endontist @ South Hills location (Mount Lebanon Road) deserves a positive review for calling me back on the emergency line over the holiday weekend and getting me in the Monday after the holiday weekend. I came back for the 2nd round, a final root canal, and although I was referred to an orthodontist to complete a molar extraction and root tip removal, I had been extremely busy with work since the holidays had passed and was unable to make this appointment with the orthodontist. Dr. Ascencio stepped out of his typical routine and did two extractions after the root canal! This completes the heavy lifting of the work I needed, and I am feeling so much better! After the Novacaine which was painless, the whole process was pain free and quick. Would highly recommend this practice to any other “terrified of the dentist”. Fantastic experience: Dr. Fernando Ascencio DMD was knowledgeable and kind. He kept me informed step by step. That was important to me as It helps a lay my anxiety and fear. I was glad for his expertise to realize I had 4 dentin nerve branches and not just two.

Negative experience: I had a good many questions that I needed to ask the doctor and was unable to get those answers. So I wasn’t happy with my visit. I’m having shoulder surgery August 22nd and it cannot be cancelled. I needs to know what he saw on the x-ray abs if there was an infection that needed to be treated and if I could wait till after my shoulder surgery to get a root canal done. But I was hustled out the door. Not sure I want to keep my next appointment since I didn’t get my answers.

My root canal was completed with the utmost care. Not that I want another root canal but if I need one, i will definitely return to Precision Dental.

Fantastic experience: Had a consult with the endodontist. He was very pleasant and reassuring. I’m very happy I chose him. It looked as though I might need a root canal or implant. After running a test he recommended I give the situation some time and check back in 6 months, since there are signs that the root is alive and working on healing. Somehow this shows me he is an honest man, since I wasn’t rushed to have the procedure done. I would definitely have any future work done by Dr. Ascensio!
