Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic experience as a new patient - Andrea and Dr. Ramsey were thorough, attentive, patient-centric, and practical. Feeling great about having found this team!

Negative experience: I don’t ever write reviews but thought i’d save someone else the headache. Would not recommend. Both my appointments got last minute rescheduled on the office staffs mismanagement, not to mention my first appointment got completely lost. On top of that, i was told i needed 4 fillings for cavities. I decided to get another opinion from a well recommended dentist in Golden, and turns out I didn’t have any cavities at all.

Negative experience: I personally would not recommend going here to anyone I know. They suggested a deep clean saying I had a couple 5mm pockets in my gums and mostly 3mm, still suggested a full deep clean on both sides even though 3mm is within healthy range. The dentist also stated my crown needed to be redone, which yes it had a hole in it, but also stated the tooth in front of it was bad and needed the crown redone as well. I went to get a second opinion, my gums are fine not a single 5mm pocket, so I do NOT need a deep clean and one of the two teeth they said needed work in fact does NOT and they missed a cracked filling. Seems to me they just want to recommend the max amount of work when it is not actually needed! Get a second opinion if you’re going here, especially if you haven’t been to the dentist in a while seems they judged the deep clean off of the amount of time since my last cleaning and not off of the health of my mouth and gums.

Fantastic experience: Been going to station dental for a year now. Great hygienist, great doctors, thorough exam and reasonable prices. Front desk staff is awesome and makes it a personable experience! Have switched my whole family here!

Fantastic experience: The office staff does not know what they are doing. I was reassured several times when going in for a procedure that their provider is "in network" even after telling them letters from my insurance say I'm "out of network". Shortly after I receive word from Station Dental that a large payment is due. Talk about surprise billing! Several times I called their billing and was told they would call back which never happened. The dental care is OK but the office is incompetent, I can't recommend dealing with them.

She referred me out when done came back always paid when done and asked how much more e to get my partials not much yaaa..... so I agreed and al was done and had a wrinkle in billing but I truly need to thank Office Manager Desiree. Fantastic experience: A friendly team of people that do great work. My teeth feel great when I leave. Today they made right on a scheduling error on their part, by comping me one of my laser treatments. I appreciate their honesty and integrity in providing great care.

Positive experience: Nice clean place. I don't like how the patient rooms are open and how anyone can walk by and see how jacked up your mouth is. If you don't care what people think then this place is for you. If you prefer your privacy then don't go here. Staff is really nich and professional.

Fantastic experience: Had a great visit for a filling - my first ever even though I am 50+ - due to a crack in my tooth. Staff was very supportive and walked me through the procedure. They took their time and were very thorough. Dr. Stuart Winter took great care during the procedure and followed up with a phone call that evening to check on how I was doing. Highly recommend this practice for cleanings and fillings - the services I have received to date. 5 stars - no question.

Negative experience: This place really became worse and very greedy over time. They billed our insurance $820 for my daughter's regular exam and cleaning. They used to let you sign and agree to the treatment for the visit, but not any more and just do all these optional services without letting you know and then charge you. I did confirm with the front desk for regular exam and cleaning only orally since they don't do form and signature anymore. However, they did those optional services to my daughter who doesn't know much about what's necessary. When I asked them why they didn't tell me, they simply told me that my daughter is adult now, so they just took advantage of young adult who doesn't know much about optional services even though they are still dependent of parents who doesn't pay the bill. They did fluoride on my daughter without thinking she is adult now and doesn't need it. They did the optional PA saying it's their policy which I didn't know and nothing is signed either. And they billed our insurance twice for same visits too. And looks like the dentist who did the exam for my daughter is not one of the three listed on their website though they used one name from the website. The hygienest who did the cleaning on my son is not Justin or Matt. The girl who did the X-rays for both of my kids didn't do a good job with almost half of the X-rays covering half of the teeth without root part. They said she is there for temp help and I wonder whether she is qualified for the job or not. Overall very bad experience and service but expensive charges with optional services not asked.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here is so kind! Matt was my dental hygienist today and was very professional and walked me through everything he was doing as he was doing it. Kassandra at the front might be an actual angel. She was very sweet to me and to everyone I saw her interact with. She went out of her way to help me figure out some rates that worked for me! Dr. Abbey is also so kind and very efficient. Grateful to have a positive experience at the dentist! Too bad I couldn’t keep those glasses though lol

Fantastic experience: I know many people complain about dental offices and all that. Let’s be honest, going to the dentist isn’t like going to get a massage Station and their whole crew are awesome. I love that I can set an appointment and forget about it because they’re so good at giving timely reminders via text. AND… if you write them back, they respond! Wow! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Negative experience: Do not come here!! I was not impressed with the level of care I got during my two fillings, the hygienists were great but the dentists could not have been in and out of the room fast enough when doing my fillings. After my filling I experienced pain for weeks and during my follow up I told the dentist about it and she did not take it seriously - she reshaped the filling and told me to give it a few more weeks. I went to another dentist to get a second opinion and I ended up needing a root canal to fix the botched filling. I usually don’t write reviews but I felt like I had to for this place - find another dentist.

Fantastic experience: For over a year since returning to Colorado, I’ve been consistently impressed by Dr. Rachel Ramsay and every member of the Station Dental team. Individually and as a team, they’re exceptional—knowledgeable, professional, and consistently exceeding expectations. At my most recent visit to replace a filling, I was greeted warmly by the receptionist, and—as always—the office was spotless. Once in the chair, I found myself watching Dr. Ramsay and her assistant work with such fluid coordination, it felt like I was witnessing Dental Ballet—a graceful, unspoken choreography of movements, communication, and precision. The only thing missing was the music. Afterward, I walked out not just with a restored tooth, but with a renewed sense of care and confidence. My teeth feel strong, solid, and ready for the miles ahead—whether in business, travel, or life itself. It’s comforting to know I have a team I can trust to keep me smiling as I move forward.

Negative experience: Possibly the worst experience i have ever had. I was told i had to pay a certain amount which was over $1000s when i have dental insurance. They then increased the quote i was given my $500 amd do not respond or return any calls. This place is an absolute scam. There front office is disorganized dishonest and terrible at responding in any way. This is the absolute worst service i have ever received. They completely refuse to respond or correct my bill this company should be completely shut down they are here to scam you and thats it. Respond to my review but absolutely none of my emails?

Negative experience: I am skeptical about this place. I only visited once so I don’t have a complete read but there were several odd interactions. First, when I arrived, the receptionist said my insurance did cover the visit, then that it didn’t. I wanted to wait to start the appointment until the coverage was confirmed, but was not allowed to or not informed that it was confirmed beforehand. I said repeatedly that I did not want anything my insurance did not cover but agreed to an additional cleaning that was so brief I didn’t even know it had happened. The doctor recommended a filling and a crown but when I said I was moving and would get the treatment somewhere else, he said I didn’t need either soon. I don’t generally trust dentists so maybe I’m reading too much into things, but I do trust my gut and even if I wasn’t moving, I would not come back here. Follow-up: Went to a new dentist where I moved. He said not only did I not need a crown but I didn’t have any cavities. Station Dental Arvada is shady! The only person that was cool and straight with me was the hygienist.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ramsay is patient and very thorough in her explanations as well as advice on course of action. Also, Victoria is an amazing tech who has great chair-side manners. As someone who hates the dentist, she is empathetic, patient and makes you feel comfortable.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE! GO TO NEW ERA DOWN THE ROAD!!! This place told me I had 3 cavities and needed deep cleaning. Also racked up a BS Xray charge and told me I would have to pay over $1000 for work. I went literally across the road to New Era where they told me I had no cavities and they gave me a normal cleaning as thats all I needed. Was completely covered too. This place is a SCAM! BEWARE!!!

Negative experience: There are nice people working here. However, my experience was much like other negative reviews. They were really disorganized, never validated my insurance on time, claimed I never sent it, found it, still did not validate it. The day of my appointment I ended up leaving without a cleaning, any follow up appointments, or cost of care estimate. They kept pushing me to get a deep cleaning and recommended prescription strength fluoride toothpaste. They told me they would call me back that day with estimates and follow ups; three business days later I still had not heard anything so I called. I was put on a 16 minute hold. I called back later and was asked to be put on hold; I said no I really need to talk to someone, then I was promptly put on hold, haha. When I finally talked to someone I requested my dental records and they later sent me a useless screenshot of my x rays. I emailed them may 13th in an email chain ("reply to this message and we will respond promptly") and still have not heard from them. I called again to get my complete dental records and was told that I needed to fill out a release form. "Thats strange, you guys already sent me photos of x-rays". "No one should have done that". So obviously they take patient confidentiality seriously. I sent that form in five days ago and have followed up since and still nothing. I have since gone to another dentist who is family operated and was amazing. They thought the deep cleaning and prescription fluoride was a serious stretch. I am just waiting for my records so I can provide them to the new dentist and we can figure out the best path forward. My appt was almost a month ago now. Bottom line; this place will treat you like a cash cow, drop the ball constantly, and evade your attempts to secure your own medical records. Once they determined that I was leaving to see another dentist they moved on to the next sucker. Zero stars.

Negative experience: Station Dentals are awful! So disorganized, such bad communication. So unprofessional. If I could leave a NEGATIVE 10 REVIEW I would; this place and the team is a NIGHTMARE! Do NOT schedule here EVER! They "forget" to do any sort of follow up. I had three temporary crowns placed and they say they will call you when your permanent crowns. I tried calling and texting multiple times with no response and after three months they said, "whoops we forgot to call you; yeah your crowns have been sitting here for months". Then I go in a surprise; the teeth shifted and the crowns don't fit. so now we have to do more xrays and more temporaries. two days later my temporary breaks, and they can't get me in for three weeks. then I get a call back that I have to WAIT until my permanents come in. Lo and behold, 9 WEEKS LATER I go in for my appointment and the teeth shifted AGAIN and the permanent crown DOES NOT FIT! They blame me for waiting so long, but I called and called wondering where the crowns were! I've missed so much time and work over scheduling and rescheduling appointments. no one takes any accountability here. their solution was to have me drive 45 min to the closest station dental that makes crowns in house and says they can make me an appointment with them at 11:30am. So I cancel the rest of my workday, drive all the way out there and they say "I'm sorry, you are late. we had you scheduled at 11:00 not 11:30. you will have to reschedule" ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Making it my fault? Then they said they could get me in at 12:30, making me stand there and wait an HOUR just to sit me in the chair and say, we’ve decided not to treat you because this is the other office’s fault! And because I was upset!I’ve spent $10k and have exposed painful teeth! For half of a YEAR! MALPRACTICE! BBB and the state board will be notified of this neglect. Absolutely shameful.

Negative experience: Do not come here. Even if your insurance says they in network, they will lie to you and tell you procedures are covered. Then they will come back after a couple months and say “just kidding, insurance won’t cover it” and then expect payment in full. Scammers over here. Update: They threatened to send my bill to collections after ZERO communication. I had to call them to get this update and told me that "there is no guarantee" that insurance will cover anything. This was not told to me before the procedure and they refused to take any responsibility. Please take your business elsewhere. Nice canned responses, by the way. I called the front office and they are the reason for the updated review.

Fantastic experience: The customer service here is excellent. Initially, I simply had to remind myself that there are areas in our life that we do not cherish to involve; dentists and car repair, funerals and paying bills. Arvada Station overcomes the stigma by being very well skilled in communication, attention to detail, and being treated in a warmly professional setting. I learned how to be at ease during impressions, a first at 67 years old! All the Technicians, Assistants, Reception, and the Office Manager are professional and easy to work with. People are so easy to review badly, it is a pleasure to review a business so positively. Thank you Dr. Abby and to all the Staff.

Fantastic experience: Im so glad I came to station dental, I have past dental trauma and even cleanings freak me out but my first visit here was amazing the front was friendly the hygienist Matt was kind and gentle the dr is also very nice and explained everything to me in detail. Negative experience: This is the worst experience I have ever had with a dentist. Six months ago I had a crown done. Water was shooting up my sinuses. I felt like I was drowning. I couldn’t breathe. The hygienist kept sticking the suction hose against my lip and the inside of my mouth pinching the skin. Now all my teeth on that side of my mouth are sensitive and I can hardly chew. To add insult to injury, they tried to gouge me for $1000 over what I paid after insurance.

Fantastic experience: I have never been a fan of the going to the dentist and would put it off due to anxiety. I decided this year to get back on track and chose Station Dental for my 1st initial visit in years. I’m glad I did because they were very warm and caring! They did a great job and my teeth have never felt, or looked better! Thank you Dr. Abby, you and your staff are all amazing!!

Negative experience: Online it said they took my insurance but they did not. I didn’t know they didn’t take it until I had booked and completed my second appointment and had to pay very expensive rates. The Novocain they gave me lasted 8 hours when they said 2-4 hours max and I still have random pain in my cheek after a filling a week later. That’s not right especially for how much I paid, not to mention I asked for an itemized bill/receipt and still haven’t gotten that either. I’m just frustrated overall with my experience.

Fantastic experience: State of the art dentistry which is professional, knowledgable, gentle, caring, clean-bright-and easy locatiion to get to & park, priced in-line with most other top-level dentists in the area, on-time yet thorough, performs most specialty services such as crowns, etc. in one day - without the need for a return visit. Their staff speaks for itself, friendly, helpful in all areas-including insurance, caring, and it’s obvious you they love their profession, their patients, and who they work for. Therefore, it’s an easy choice to want to return and I would recommend them to all-ages.

Fantastic experience: As a prior customer of “CD,” where each time I received a basic cleaning that took a total of 25 minutes, today I was introduced to an amazing dental office. A complete scan, then individual X-rays and pics of each tooth, then on to an ultrasonic cleaning, scaling, measuring, and then a fluoride treatment. After that- a discussion with the dentist as to what is needed. I’m thoroughly impressed with not just the facility, but each person I met and that was involved with my care. You’ve earned my business, but most importantly, my respect. Thank you, but especially Dr Abby. You’re amazing, and you have a great team. Can’t ask for better! Feb 17, 2025 I really felt my prior review said it all. Quality team, excellent dentist, all joined to form a seamless sense of perfection. To the ladies behind the desk that respond almost immediately to text msgs, you are the lifeline to what happens inside. You immediately responded to my weekend texts as soon as you opened on Monday, and you got me in 3 and a half hours after Station Dentail opened. Thank you! And too, to the young hygienist who has my respect for who he is, as well as the job he does. You always have my respect. And now, to Sandi. The receptionists are very helpful with navigating insurance, the hygenist are friendly and careful, and Dr. Abby is the best! Did my crown work and placement in one visit with no discomfort!!

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place. I started this depressing journey in July 2024. When I went for my bi-yearly cleaning and checkup, they stated that I needed multiple fillings on one side and a crown on the other side. I trusted them as they are professionals and didn’t want to have a bigger issue later. I got the fillings done and waited two weeks to get the crown. My fillings didn’t feel good. However, I went back for the crown and told the doctor about my discomfort with the fillings. She stated that it must be a bite issue and did the adjustment, then gave me the crown too. The crown broke the next day, so I went back in. They said they had to order a new crown from outside, which would take two weeks. It actually took about three and a half weeks, during which I had to constantly call to check. It was three weeks of super discomfort on top of the filling still hurting. When I finally got my new crown, I asked about the filling, and they did another adjustment. The crown still didn’t feel right afterward. It was very sensitive to hot and cold, and I couldn’t even chew something like blueberries. This was followed by the agony of discomfort from both the filling and the crown. I tried to wait it out for 2-3 weeks, but the issues didn’t go away. I kept making appointments for adjustments, and it never got any better. I was chewing everything with my front teeth, which started to become an issue on its own as my front gums started to hurt. After six adjustments, I decided I needed to go to a different dentist. Dr. Lindsay Compton, just a 7-minute drive from this location, saw right away that the filling had an air bubble and a crack, which she fixed the same day. With the crown, she suspected it now needed a root canal and sent me to an endodontist the same week. I went the same week, and they could immediately see the issue and fixed it right away. Finally, after six months of this depressing journey, I am able to chew and eat food properly. And I ended up paying about an extra $1,000. The staff are nice and friendly at station dental Arvada, but that doesn’t matter when you have to suffer health-wise and financially. Also, one thing I noticed here is a 4 to 1 doctor-to-dental hygienist ratio, and almost everything is done by dental hygienists while the doctor is hopping over multiple patients at the same appointment slots. It feels like a butcher shop setting to maximize profits or a factory setting. However, do yourself a favor: there are lots of private dental offices within a 3-mile distance from this location where you can get better care and more reasonable prices. This has been a very sad experience for me. After my experience, I checked the reviews and saw more people had similar or worse issues, with patients ending up in the hospital with life-threatening dental infections from this place. I usually don’t review anything, and especially I don’t like reviewing negatively, but I felt it was my responsibility to make others aware and prevent them from going through a horrible journey like I did.

Fantastic experience: The Dental office is so nice and clean and welcoming. The front desk people greet you right away and are very helpful. The hygienist is very good and the gentleman who does the cleaning is very personable and thorough and very nice. My dentist Abby is wonderful.

Fantastic experience: I’m a new patient at Station dental. It’s been a year since I’ve been to The dentist because of Covid. They did a very thorough exam, cleaning and x-rays. They found a tooth with a quite large old filling That is failing. They suggested before too long getting a crown. I came back the next day and had it done. Very pleased with the finished product. Very professional and Capable staff. Doctor Abby, Her assistant, The hygienist and Front desk were all wonderful! Glad I chose them! I had a tooth ache and swelling associated with it over the weekend. Call Monday morning to see if they can get me in to check it out. They got me in at 12 o’clock and I was out by one. My dentist was out of the office and I saw another dentist. Same as before very capable and professional staff. Wonderful experience. Five stars! I had a follow up appointment to remove the temporary filling in my root canal and put in a permanent one. Well done, fast and professional as always! Five stars again! Had a cleaning and check up today. Wonderful job on the cleaning! I had no more than a two minute wait before I was in the chair. Five star service as usual! I had a tooth that started bothering me so I contacted the dentist Office to get in as soon as possible. I was going on vacation shortly and needed this taken care of. They got me in and diagnosed the problem and was even able to take care of it right then. Replaced an old filling that was failing. I can’t say enough about Dr. Abby and the team at Station dental they always do a wonderful job. 11/7/2022 Went in for a cleaning and a check up today. Their new facility is beautiful and very comfortable. As usual the staff is very friendly and professional. Dr. Abby and the hygienist do great job of making me feel at ease. This is a great place to have your dental work taken care of. 3/20/2023 Went in for an appointment to have my old filling replaced. As usual I was in the chair within minutes. Dr. Abby and her staff did a wonderful job. I was finished and on my way in 45 minutes even though it was a busy Monday morning!

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love Dr. Ramsay. Came in for a cleaning and found out I needed a crown. I was freaking out but after coming back, they made me feel so comfortable and at ease. There was minimal discomfort. The girls at the front desk where so helpful. Yall 10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Negative experience: So I tried to call 10 times the day before my appointment through out the day to cancel my appointment for the next day. And yet no answer. They state there will be a $100 fee if not cancelled, we will see if I get charged but either way ridiculous that no one picks up a phone call through out the day

Negative experience: Snarky rude receptionists. Sends you link for docs 2 hours before apt. Then assume you haven't filled them out once you arrive. Proceeds to make you wait another 20 minutes while they're unable to verify my active company insurance policy(which they should have tried once I submitted my documents) Incompetent Rude Waste of time Unprofessional 0 customer service Lazy Sitting around collecting a check. I'd give 0 stars if I could.

Fantastic experience: Very grateful for finding this place! Dr. Abby and the staff were so friendly, caring, and helpful when I came in with tooth pain, and quickly determined that I needed a filling redone (which was done at a different practice). I was nervous about getting the cavity redone, but Dr. Abby was very reassuring and answered all of my questions - even gave me a stress ball to squeeze haha, which I did at first but quickly felt at ease once we got started. Tooth felt normal by the end of the day, and I'm back to eating all the crunchy stuff. Thanks so much to everyone at Station Dental!

Negative experience: Went in for a cleaning, got x-rays and a brief exam before being told I needed to come back for 2 separate deep cleanings. A quick search made it clear this is a scam as only a standard cleaning is fully covered by insurance. They also charge above Colorado's average for their exam and x-rays which was thankfully fully covered by my insurance. But now I need to wait before I can get a proper cleaning at a better dental office or pay out of pocket.

Fantastic experience: Doc Abby and Assistant were great. She is so caring and communicates all she’s doing. I wish I could remember the Assistants name, he is so gentle and kind. Don’t mind going to the dentist here!

Negative experience: Be sure to ask a lot of questions and verify the cost of EVERYTHING before you go here. Every little procedure, stop the dentist and ask for the cost. I received quotes ahead of time and was charged a completely different than the quote. If you are an organized person with your finances this office will frustrate you. They seem to unnecessarily charge and incorrectly code things. I spent a lot of unnecessary money here. Instead of building relationships to bring back repeat customers, they seem to have a goal to nickel and dime and overcharge (night guards, etc) Either way, be careful here.

Negative experience: Do not go here! Started off as a great experience where everything was clear and concise but then My husband then got a bill for $230. We asked for the itemized receipt showing why as he always paid the balance after his visit. Never received it and was told something on the phone that doesn’t make sense as they said they downgraded to silver fillings but he never got silver fillings. The filling that he got was still bothering him a few weeks later. He went and had it checked and they advised to brush with a sensitive toothpaste and a fluoride mouth wash. After a few weeks of that it started to get worse and so he got a second option. Turns out they drilled too deep and placed the filling on a nerve so he now has to have a root canal which is gonna cost us an additional $1300. My fillings are big and bulky and not the shape of a natural tooth.

I particularly like how kind and gentle Dr Abby is with her exams and walking me through additional needs I might have.

Negative experience: I never write reviews, buts this is the worst dental office in the country, unless you like: - mysterious bills weeks later when the secretary said there was no copay - having your dental hygienist not clean all your teeth (I’m also not sure she was legally old enough to work) - listening to Mambo #5 blaring before 8am Seriously the most unprofessional place ever

Negative experience: It felt off when they said they need to put more crowns in my mouth. They had already put a couple. They hardly talk to you and rush through your visit. Recently I went in and Dr Abby said I needed two new crowns put in. I was like really?? Again?? I went to get a second opinion, and they disagreed with everything Dr. Abby told me. One of the teeth didn’t even have a cavity, it just needed to be grind down a bit. My new dentist fixed me up and told me to be careful with dentists like those at Station Dental. Shameful.

Fantastic experience: I hadn’t been to the dentist in years. I was extremely nervous and knew I was going to need extensive work. Dr. Abby Rudnick put together a treatment plan that was not only affordable but o was able to utilize my insurance. She gave me amazing guidance on a referral to get a tooth pulled but most of her care as well as her staff has been phenomenal. I will recommend this office to anyone I know. It was truly a blessing to find this place.

Negative experience: Don’t go here. During a routine crown procedure Dr. Rudnick or perhaps her wobbly assistant badly scraped my gums, exposing my jaw bone for two weeks. After one week of pain, noticing the exposed jaw I expressed concern and the claimed the exposed jaw was an “owie” and a canker sore to be treated with warm water and salt. Shortly after, the exposed jaw was infected and I ended up spending four nights in the hospital including emergency surgery to drain fluids from outside my neck to prevent a serious situation from becoming a life threatening one. Again, this all started because of a botched crown procedure when I was fine. As I write this there is a tube coming out of my neck that exudes puss that we call “Abby Puss” in honor of the clumsy doctor and the “owie” she so graciously misdiagnosed. Every doctor at the hospital who examined me during this expensive, uncomfortable, disgusting and life threatening ordeal had one conclusion, “never see Dr. Rudnick and her cohorts at Station Dental again.” I agree, and am still awaiting a simple apology for the clumsiness that almost killed me during a routine dentist visit. My guess is a robot will respond to this post saying this was a less than stellar experience since that what happens when others offer bad reviews…but I do agree, this tube in my neck is “less than stellar.”

Negative experience: I booked an appointment online through their website and received confirmation that my appointment had been scheduled. However, when I arrived they said that I was not scheduled. If you want to go to a dentist with competent administrative staff I would not recommend coming here.

Fantastic experience: This is my second time to this dentist and she is very friendly and helpful. They were able to squeeze me in when they had a cancellation and made my visit quick and easy!

Negative experience: Great customer service, friendly staff, inexperienced doctors and dental assistants. Got 2 crowns. Went back because I was in so much pain that I couldn't sleep. They thought they fixed the issue. Still in pain months later. Have to go somewhere else to get it fixed. Not happy considering they have not refunded my deposit even though they've been paid by both insurance companies. Would not recommend unless you just want to not be taken care of.
