Fantastic experience: It was a positive experience! All the staff worked to make sure I was comfortable before, during, and after my wisdom teeth surgery. My recovery went very well.

Fantastic experience: I had 4 extractions done here. And they were really awesome. Everyone there were so nice, took their time on everything and answered all my questions. Not to mention they also give you a free pint of ice cream of your choice of flavor they treated my husband and son really well too as they waited for me in waiting room. They offered them snacks or drinks and brought out some toys for my son to be entertained while they waited. So that was a big plus! Aftet being home a few hours they also called that same day to check up on me. Thank you Dr. Bethers, Holly and the team ❤️

Fantastic experience: A few weeks ago I had one tooth extracted by Dr Bethers. A few days ago I had an implant placed (different tooth than the extraction). Both the extraction and the implant went extremely well. Sandstone runs a very professional office and has state of the art equipment. The x-ray/scan was amazing in detail and clarity. Dr Bethers was great at informing me about the procedure to be performed, efficient and careful in his work and friendly throughout. I was surprised how little pain I had after and how quickly I recovered.

I’ve had five teeth removed at this location, have been under anesthesia twice, and recently returned for another extraction while preparing for dental implants. Every single visit has been an outstanding experience. From the moment you walk in, the staff is kind, polite, professional, and genuinely caring. Dr. Brothers is incredibly skilled, calming, and thorough — he takes the time to explain everything and makes you feel completely at ease. Being under anesthesia can be intimidating, and i NEVER come out of anesthesia well LOL. Tear city* but I felt safe and well cared for every time. What truly sets this office apart is the follow-up care. I received calls after my surgeries just to check on how I was doing, which meant more to me than I can express. That level of compassion and attentiveness is rare. I have never been treated better at any surgeon’s office before. This team goes above and beyond, and it shows in every interaction. Fantastic experience: Let me begin by saying, we were very pleased with the Doctor and the service received, thus the five stars. My issue is with the Billing Department. I came across a stale-dated check, in the amount of $94.00, again today. I have been meaning to post this review; however, other matters took priority. My daughter saw Dr. Blevins in the fourth quarter of 2023 to discuss an implant. Instead of undergoing the expense of an implant he suggested a different course of action. Everything worked out very well. I received a check in December of 2023, in the amount of $94, due to an overcharge. Unfortunately, this was right around the time we had a death in our family...leading to the check being misplaced and subsequently forgotten. In May of this year, while packing for a move, I came across the check which was not endorsed and not deposited into my bank account. I called and left a voicemail on 5/14/25 explaining the situation and requesting a replacement check. My voicemail was not returned. I called again a few weeks later and spoke with Sheila, the Billing Department Manager. She informed me the Doctor’s Wife does she Bookkeeping and she would pass the information on to her. After not hearing anything for yet another few weeks, I called and again spoke with Sheila. She was abrupt, and frankly unprofessional, as she explained the Doctor’s Wife still needed to look into the matter and that she only cuts checks every couple of weeks. As a Corporate Controller, I am very well aware that the status of a check payment can be obtained from the Bank in less than 2 minutes. Nobody on my staff would dream of handling such a simple matter of replacement check in this matter. To this day I have not received a replacement check and have not heard anything further on the matter. At this point, it is more a matter of principle than the $94.00. Very disappointing!

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth removed at Sandstone Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery about two months ago, and now that I’m fully healed, I can say the whole experience was excellent. If you’re considering wisdom teeth removal, I strongly recommend going to an oral surgeon (OMFS) rather than a general dentist — especially if your teeth are impacted or close to nerves. Dr. Bethers is an OMFS and was extremely skilled and careful throughout my procedure. A few things that made my recovery so smooth: IV sedation — I was completely comfortable and slept through the entire surgery. Exparel — a non-opioid medication that kept the area numb for about 72 hours, so I barely needed any pain medicine afterward. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) — they used my own blood to speed up healing, reduce swelling, and lower the risk of dry socket. With those options and just ibuprofen, I had virtually no pain — which says a lot because I’m usually not great at dealing with discomfort. The office was also fair with pricing; in fact, their quote was lower than what some general dentists gave me. The staff was kind, and Dr. Bethers took the time to explain everything clearly. Now, two months later, I’m completely healed with no issues and really grateful for the quality of care I received. I’d absolutely recommend Sandstone to anyone needing wisdom teeth removal.

Fantastic experience: BEYOND impressed by this office. Literally everyone I interacted with were friendly, caring and professional. I was referred for 2 wisdom teeth extractions. Medicine was sent in a day prior. It literally took roughly 30 min for the whole appointment. I did local anesthesia and they made sure I was comfortable and kept checking that I was numb and couldn't feel anything. The dentist went in, yanked them out, and he was flawless! I did not have good experiences with my bottom wisdom, so this office surpassed my expectations. I got sent home with a goodie bag: ice pack, syringe and gauze. They called to check up on me. And this was a 12/10 overall experience.

Fantastic experience: Had all 4 wisdom teeth removed yesterday. Staff was great, doctor thorough and called to check up a few hours after treatment. Healing has been amazing so far. I opted for IV sedation so the procedure was done in the blink of an eye, and the anesthesia wore off like 15 mins after I was feeling normal. I opted for platelet rich fibrin treatment and I feel like it’s been game changer for my smooth healing so far. Minimal swelling, no pain, eating soft foods no problem and not overly tired or uncomfortable at all. Super happy my dentist referred me here! I had a lot of dental anxiety before but everything’s been a breeze.

Fantastic experience: Wife came here for some extractions early last year, the reason for the 2 stars is, while they are friendly, and the job performed was adequate and professional, their $80 deposit is a joke, was told they will hold it until insurance pays the final bill, if short? they take it out of the $80, I check many months ago and compared what was quoted on our receipts, clearly showing what we had to pay and what was expected for the insurance to pay, I check our dental insurance claims paid and it shows they got paid the full and correct amount, never heard back from sandstone or received our $80 deposit back. The deposit is just a way for them to make extra money as dental insurances pay a discounted rate, but they knew what they was getting paid and they got paid! SMH! Mixed feelings on ever coming here again if needed. Update: first time I have ever been called directly after leaving a review, the new office/ accounting manager called and explained what had happened and why, deposit refund received and she has renewed my confidence in sandstone! Changing to 5 star. Much appreciated!

Fantastic experience: Bryan was an amazing person to work with. Had to take a friend for an emergency removal, my friend had an intense trauma with needles and Bryan was the guy to walk her through it. He took his time, joked with her and talked her through her fears. If you have a fear of needles Bryan is the guy, he's super welcoming and funny. We got scheduled this surgery the day after we had called and the entire morning staff was super friendly, explained everything simply and offered refreshments for me while I waited for my friend. The words that describe their team are: Welcoming, friendly, professional, attentive to patients, accommodating, and hospitable - Dr. Bethers, Melissa, Angie, Arline, Sheila, Stacy and the gentleman that assisted my mother in her wheelchair (sorry I didn’t catch his name but Cooper told him we were coming). In comparison to Sandstone, every Dental practice that we have patronized has much to be desired. It's what I call the "Sandstone experience!" as follows: Reception/front office team are friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The waiting room/check-in area is sure to relax you with comfortable seats, complimentary water, crisp & clean air, soft relaxing sounds in the background and ambiance that compels you to look the place over from top-to-bottom in awe! We were offered assistance at every move we made from the car to the lobby, from lobby to exam/x-ray areas, etc. Once you're in the room, you'll immediately notice how spacious it is to comfortable accommodate mom's wheelchair. We're always amazed at how clean everything appears - unlike most other dental offices that you can notice buildups in certain areas as if they don't do deep cleans. The equipment is state-of-the-art and puts other dental offices to shame. Sandstone operates in the year 2025 with cutting-edge technology, not 2005 equipment like so many offices. I can go on & on about what sets Sandstone apart as the BEST! It feels like a family reunion when we visit them - thanks Sandstone for making my mother feel welcomed and cherished as a patient! Let Me tell You I was nervous from the drive over there with fear of the unknown...But from the moment I arrived, I was treated with respect, everything was very transparent regarding what form of treatment that was needed & what My out of pocket would be. Fantastic experience: I was looking around for different offices to get my wisdom teeth removed for the longest I have so much trust issues with whoever touches my teeth but from the day I walked in I knew I was going to be in good hands. I just got my 4 wisdom teeth out today and man they did such an amazing job walked me through the procedure they were also quick but gentle with the procedure all of the staff were so nice I would recommend anyone and everyone to come here and get their wisdom teeth removed. They deserve more than a FIVE STAR THEY NEED A TEN STAR RATING !!!

Fantastic experience: I had the nerves since they knocked me out for a biopsy and removal of a cyst and this team met all my expectations- competent, compassionate, clean office.. I do recommend.

Negative experience: This is a nice establishment and the staff are welcoming however the surgeon has to be the worst. I’ve been having what was diagnosed as TMJ over the last 2 months. I’ve been waiting for this appt which I was happy to get moved up by a day and not pay the $80 emergency fee which is crazy. I got seen today and was told to “stop chewing and talking and do PT”. I have never in my life been approached that way. Despite a very minimal exam he said it was “muscle strain “. I have been on a muscle relaxer for the past month. As I am in the healthcare field I can’t stop talking and to not chew is ridiculous. I came to them for help and got no exam or help with my issue. On the way out I was offered Botox or another solution after the surgeon said I had to try the other options first. Clear warning to Arizona and the way they treat people.

Fantastic experience: Leaving a 5 star review on Sandstone because of the care and urgency the Dr and staff have. I had to get all 4 of my impacted wisdom teeth removed. I was unfortunately awake for the procedure although I was spose to be asleep. I was given 4 times the amount of drugs to put me out but unfortunately some people have a high tolerance to sedation as I do. The surgery was fast and very efficient. I was in and out in less then and hour and sent home to recover. I unfortunately had alot of pain and had to get extra pain killers from the ER early in the AM on Saturday. I called the Dr and he returned my call early Saturday morning after I already got some pain killers from the ER and he offered to come in and see me on his day off. What a awesome guy! I was very tired and had pain killers so I opted to wait to see him on Monday. The friendly staff got me in super quick and saw Dr Bethers and he told me I was healing great and just needed to manage my pain. He wrote me a prescription for more pain meds and now im still on the mend. He even gave me a call after to see if there was anything he could do and explained everything about the procedure. I've never had a more caring Dr and it really does mean the world. I would recommend Sandstone to anyone who wants a calm and caring atmosphere as well as efficency. Thank you again!

Fantastic experience: Facility is gorgeous and clean. Staff is incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Dr's bedside manner initially was great. My boyfriend got all 4 of his very impacted wisdom teeth out at once. He wanted to be put under, and he also opted for the injectable painkiller that lasts 3 days and got a treatment using plasma to help with clotting and prevent dry socket. He was awake during the entire procedure and felt everything. He tried to signal that he was in pain but was unable to. Afterwards, he was given no antibiotics and the pain meds were just Tylenol and codeine which did not help much if at all. Two days after the surgery date we ended up going to the ER because he was in so much pain. The ER doctor noticed one dry socket, but couldn't see any more because boyfriend couldn't open his mouth from the pain. We got a couple days worth of pain meds to get him through. We did call the doctors after hours number this day and he responded a couple hours later, he seemed unconcerned but offered to come in on a Saturday to take a look at him which we did appreciate. Monday, we ran out of the meds the ER gave him and the pain was worse. Was able to get in same day with Sandstone to be seen. The Dr said he saw nothing to explain the pain. We spoke about how the surgery went and the doctor seemed defensive and agitated. We tried our best to not seem super displeased and said we did love the facility and everything else about the experience was great, but I digress. They offered a red light treatment which we took. It was supposed to help pain and healing almost instantly but he said he didn't feel too much with it. The doctor seemed pretty confused at that and was again kind of aggressive. We felt he was pushing us out of the exam room as he was just standing in the doorway with the door open afterwards and didn't ask if we had questions or anything else we needed. He did give him a stronger pain medication which was definitely appreciated. EDIT: We were called after this review was posted, and my boyfriend had a great conversation with the doctor. Everything was hashed out and he seemed very genuine and apologetic. Changing to five stars.

Negative experience: My daughter needed surgery there to remove a precancerous lesion under her tongue and everything went well. I appreciate the doctor & staff for being very good to my daughter & she did healed well with minimal pain thank you, but the Billings department..Miss Jen, who is supposedly billing & also claimed to be the supervisor, was very rude, unprofessional literally arguing with me regarding a bill, not even trying to help me figure things out how to fix it, she was actually giggling on the phone knowing that I was upset while I was talking & when I told her I didn't appreciate her laughing, she stated I'm not laughing! But she was several times throughout our conversation, my daughter was on the phone And also heard her! I also told I didn't appreciate the way she's handling things & the tone she was using to talk to us as patients, she said you are not the patient you're the patient's Mom. I'm not the one to play around with & was not happy, she gave me very bad vibes. I also work in a medical field & if she worked in my office, I would be embarrassed. I hope that the people in that office know how she treats patients & their Mothers/ family. Hopefully we get the billing issue fixed because she doesn't seem to want to cooperate with us, she keeps saying it was denied. Our insurance is saying telling us the reason it was denied because it was submitted wrong several times & all they needed to do was rebill with the correct NPI# and she's was literally mocking me & saying that it's been over 6 months, so it probably won't be paid now. As a patient and a Mother of a patient, that's not our fault, that not our mistake. We have nothing to do with improperly billing and that would not be our fault or our responsibility to pay on something that was inproperly billed! So I hope that this is fixed & maybe I will reevaluate the review, but until then I will never allow my daughter to go back there and I will definitely relay this to our primary dentist that referred us there. This Jen girl needs training in customer service and obviously how to bill properly! I would give it 5 stars for the surgeon & staff and the outcome of my daughter's healing process, but I would give it no Stars if I could, because of Jen, she was just horrible! I would hope that they would record the calls & would love for the owner or the head of that office to listen to the conversation, I've never dealt with someone so bitter, unprofessional and rude as her! No Follow up calls from office, they said wait 6 wks for billing to be rebilled and instead sent my 20 yr old to collection! I was told if you had Azhccs insurance you were not allowed to bill patient my daughter has 2 INS and hlbith INS companies told me that office billing incorrectly. I'll make sure to follow up on that. No compassion to even to help me figure this out & pay it for my daughter to save her credit that she's worked so hard for, but that's shady move to get out of helping your parents & her MOM. Fantastic experience: This was the most fast and efficient dental office I’ve ever been to. From having a bad experience in the past with having a tooth extracted Dr.Bethers did amazing!!! I didn’t even realize that the tooth was taken out so fast. From all the staff in the front to the back this is an exceptional office and has amazing care and compassion for their patients!!! Thank you so much for taking great care of me when I needed to have my tooth extracted last week. The follow up calls made me feel like I mattered and wasn’t just another paycheck. You all are amazing!!!

Negative experience: I didn’t find this office professional and friendly like others are commenting. They didn’t care to go over the post care of wisdom tooth extraction for me. Dentist didn’t come in to ask if I had any questions till after my mouth was numb and full of guaze leaving me unable to speak properly if I did want to ask any questions. When I asked about concerns I have with nerve damage he said it’s your choice which I understood is my choice but better information would be helpful then just answering with it’s your choice. The assistant didn’t even know the answer to if I can use zero alcohol mouth wash afterwards. They didn’t go after any after care just handed me an envelope and gauze in a bag. Also as a specialist you would be able to answer the questions of nerve damage better due to having better equipment. They didn’t take their time to do any more scans just went by the one x ray and called it a day leaving me with the huge option of permanent nerve damage or possible infection due to half the tooth being extracted not the whole tooth. I chose this place due to my referral and ins covering it. But had I known they aren’t professional or willing to answer questions and concerns I would go somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: I have been in medical/dental sales for over 10 years. I have met great, good, average, and awful doctors over the years. I have never met a more ethical and better doctor than Dr. Bethers. He truly puts his patients first and always does the right thing. Sometimes you meet great doctors who are good at what they do, but they don't act like humans. He has it all, a huge heart and is phenomenal at what he does.

Fantastic experience: Talk about a killer team that Dr Bethers has put together. The team here is friendly and accommodating. They actually listen to you and care about what you got going on. Fantastic experience: My mother needed an emergency dental procedure and her current dentist at Sundance Dental and the Oral Surgeon they use a few times a month were both unable to do the procedure. The Sandstone Team was able to get us in to see the Dentist in only 2 days. Other Dentists were scheduling out to March 20th and later, so we were concerned that the issue might result in sepsis if we waited too long. It was a great experience with the Sandstone Team. Dr. BRENT H. BETHERS and his Assistant (Melissa) did a great job! They are really good with attentively handling elderly patients, and they're helpful to the families by meeting all the patient's needs in a patient manner and thoroughly answering our questions. Clean and spacious facility. They are by far the best! The one thing I would recommend to new patients that use a wheelchair is to park on the easternmost end of the building, so you can use the handicap accessible sidewalk without walking too far to/from your vehicle. Fantastic experience: I have had the best experience at Sandstone. I was there to get my wisdom teeth out and from start to finish the process was effortless. Dr. Bethers and his staff are friendly and professional. The procedure was thoroughly explained to me and I was made at ease. Post procedure Dr. Bethers called me personally to follow up and check on me. A few days after, his office called to follow up as well. Class act. I would recommend Dr. Bethers to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Always had bad experiences at dental offices as a kid has made me hesitant to ever go to the dentist. But sandstone dental was amazing clean friendly and kind from the lady’s at the front desk always willing to help and answer questions to the treatment lady after my consultation was very kind a friendly and gave loads of advice. The nurses who prepped me for surgery where very kind and professional I have a fear of needles and was the smoothest IV ive ever had too the oral surgeon just being a master of his craft everything went smooth and more perfect then I could of imagined for having 4 wisdom teeth removed plus another molar! Thankyou sandstone dental!!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve had an implant before and I must say that this experience was so very much better. Dr. Bethers is always on time in the entire process, never cancels and his implant procedure was surprisingly pleasant (I couldn’t believe how much so). I was expecting something similar to my first implant and cannot over emphasize how much better this experience was. If I ever need another implant I wouldn’t consider having it done anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: First of all, I would like to compliment the staff at Sandstone Oral Maxillofacial Surgery for their professionalism and concern along with the gentle care I received as a patient. Julie and Makenna, the receptionists, were very friendly and warm to talk to. That alone was relieving my anxiety for the procedure which was to follow. It allowed me to relax knowing that they had confidence in Dr. Brent Bethers and his expertise in his profession. My wife had been to see Dr. Bethers for her surgery and she said, "this is the person who you want to do your procedure," and she was right! Dr. Bethers was confident he could complete the task without disturbing the implant next to the subject tooth and what a relief it was to me to be told he could do the procedure confident of the outcome. I had two other Drs. look at my situation and it was their opinion, it was doubtful that it would be successful without damaging the implant next to it, ..... but not Dr. Bethers. When time came and the area was numbed, Dr Bethers began the procedure and had the tooth out and "on the table" it seemed like less than 2 minutes. Oh mercy! And I might add there was absolutely NO PAIN ! I am alergic to PAIN! Dr Bethers solved that concern. If you need Oral surgery, this is where you want to go without a doubt. Julie and Makenna will make you feel right at home and Dr Bethers is the best. Look no further, this is it. My experience was the best one could ask for. Fantastic experience: They got me in for an emergency removal of all 4 wisdom teeth. The lady up front was an angel- pleasant, genuine & sweet. The atmosphere was calming, stress free, and professional. Like anyone deep down I was nervous, but I walked away from my experience realizing the only thing to fear was fear itself. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of working with Sandstone for the removal of both of my upper wisdom teeth today. Not only did I feel like they advocated for me with the insurance company and the cost of the procedure but I also felt how much they actually cared about me as a patient. I like many others am not a fan of dental procedures and was very nervous. They made sure to answer any and all questions and prior to the appt reached out multiple times to make sure we were all on the same page. I was in and out in about an hour and they even called to check up on me twice after I left today. The medication I needed was prepared and ready on the way home with no wait. This couldnt have gone smoother in my opinion. Highly recommend this place to anyone needing wisdom tooth relief. I assumed the pain would be very high but i havent had to take one pain killer after this procedure. What a great group of people.

Fantastic experience: A few weeks ago, I broke tooth number 13 off at the gumline. The tooth was gone but the root remained in my gum (no pain as the tooth had undergone a root canal). My dentist referred me to Dr. Bethers at Sandstone Oral Maxillofacial Surgery to have the root surgically removed. After a brief consultation on August 8th my surgery was scheduled for August 24th. The required prescriptions (pain meds, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory) were called in and ready for pickup prior to my surgery. When I arrived on the 24th the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and answered my questions in language I could understand. I have anxiety over any dental visit, particularly one involving oral surgery. Dr. Bethers "put me to sleep prior to the surgery. When I awoke from anesthesia it was as if nothing had been done. No pain, no bleeding, no nothing. I am writing this review on August 25th. Still no pain or bleeding. Dr. Bethers is not just an oral surgeon, he is an artist at his craft. If you need any kind of oral surgery and go anywhere else, you will be making a big mistake.

I was well prepared because Sandstone prescribed the antibiotics and pain medicine in advance so My pharmacy called me to fill the prescription a couple of days before the surgery. I observed the surgery and found Dr. Bethers and staff were professional and conducted the surgery with alacrity. Overall, I feel Sandstone’s preparation and follow up made the experience exemplary.

Fantastic experience: I came in with a very bad infection and the doctor was able to help me right away. I ended up needing an emergency extraction which I was very nervous about (First time having any teeth removed) but it went super quick and the staff did everything to make me feel at ease.
