Strong Roots Dental

Negative experience: The dentist is highly attentive, fair, and professional. However, the hygienists are quite assertive in pushing sales or encouraging additional payments for dental procedures. I’ve visited four times and consistently experienced this pushy behavior. I appreciate the advanced technology and the dentist, but unfortunately, the overall experience is marred by the aggressive mindset of the staff.

Fantastic experience: Update: returned for my next check up and was once again greeted with such a friendly staff and atmosphere! Danny greeted me and performed my X-rays, he made sure I was comfortable and relaxed! My hygienist (I didn’t catch her name!) was absolutely delightful and gentle with my teeth. Overall the staff is excellent here! I was nervous going in because of the reviews, but wanted to try somewhere closer to where I live. I’m glad I did because I had a wonderful experience! They were super quick and everyone was so kind and delightful. They made sure I was comfortable and didn’t make me feel pressured which I have experienced at previous places. I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in Jersey city!

Negative experience: I would rate this place 0 stars if I could. I scheduled an appointment for a regular cleaning and x-rays. During my 1.5 hr appt, only 10 minutes were spent cleaning my teeth (using cleaning very loosely here). The remaining time was for other office staff members to walk me through all of the things that needed to be “fixed.” Problems that my previous dentists had never raised with me. One of the hygienists had poor bedside manner and continued to talk over me/not listen to what I was saying as I provided my dental history. Feels like a sketchy business model where they fear monger you into getting dental work you don’t need.

Dr. Ahmed was wonderful, providing a clear and easy-to-follow treatment plan, and Danny was a great help throughout the process. ​The entire staff was polite and professional, but what I appreciated most was how they prioritized my comfort. They checked in on me constantly to ensure the procedure was completely painless. If you're in Jersey City and looking for a team that truly cares, I highly recommend them!

Dr. Ramya Narayanan is very detailed and patient when answering questions, the front desk staff are wonderful and accommodating, and Navier was awesome and super helpful. 5/5 patients would recommend, or at least just me for now!

Fantastic experience: First time coming here and everyone are knowledgeable from the hygienist to dentist to manager. Danny checked me in and helped with my xrays and have good bedside manners. They discussed issues concerning my teeth that have not been discussed with my past provider. I think i found my go-to dentist. Its also near my place so it’s another plus. And they are open weekends! Thank you Strong Roots Dental.

Negative experience: Incredibly shady experience. They were 15 minutes late to see me and it took a solid half hour to do the x-rays as their machine "glitched". The dental hygienist came in and rushed through a cleaning while trying to sell me on removing a retainer on my lower set of teeth that I've had since high school and getting separate retainers (not cheap btw). There was no formal appearance by the dentist to ensure my teeth were in a good place. Instead, someone else came in to give me a breakout of costs and optional treatments that I could add on which weren't necessary. They then aggressively tried to get me to get my cavities/filler treatment in the next day. Just seemed like they had their own agenda in mind and zero regard for the patient's well-being.

Fantastic experience: Service was great. Both the assistant( Daddy) and the doctor did a good job to identify infection in the tooth.

Positive experience: I had a good experience with a cleaning and cavity filling

Negative experience: Absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had with a dental office. I went in for a simple cleaning then they said I had cavities so I said to fill them. They told me I needed a deep cleaning also the fills in were gonna be extra because they use a “special glue” I said never mind then. Then they gave me a run around for my xrays to be sent to my other dentist. I physically had to go in the office to get them. They need better customer service. Very shady with extra fees and such.

They spent a lot of time explaining exactly what they found and how to take care of my teeth going forward. They also recommended several options for preventative care. Daniel was very helpful with all imaging that was performed. Ahmed was very transparent about pricing and upcoming scheduling.

I am usually very scared of going to the dentist but the doctor and assistant truly eased my fears. It was definitely a great experience since it has been a while. The office is clean and everyone is friendly. The office manager also explained all the costs for me and was very transparent about everything. Great experience! She had 1 extraction and 2 cavities filled, and the team was incredibly patient, gentle, and kind, making her feel comfortable and relaxed throughout the appointment. Everything was explained clearly, and the care was excellent and budget friendly. Highly recommend for kids!

Fantastic experience: From the first time I called to make my appointment, I noticed how professional everyone was. I arrived for my 1pm appointment on 12/16/24 for the first. I right away realize that everything will go as I expected . At the end, I was absolutely satisfied with the entire service that i received from the receptionist throughout the whole process. Negative experience: Went in for for dental cleaning, the hygienist spent less than 10 minutes cleaning and spent 30 minutes selling Invisalign and what payment plans are available. My teeth still had yellow stains and spots after i checked at home. Worse experience, never going back here. The experience felt like a 10 minute brushing my teeth session.

The dentist and staff were incredible! Every time I had a big procedure, they were always taking time to explain what was happening and crucially, checking in on me constantly to ensure I was comfortable and feeling okay. Their dedication to reducing anxiety is truly exceptional. Beyond the clinical care, the administrative support deserves equal praise. They offer flexible payment plans, which immediately relieved the financial stress of getting extensive work done. The staff members who greet you are equally fantastic. Adia, the woman at the front desk, always welcomed me with a genuinely warm smile, and her timely reminders about upcoming appointments was excellent. In the back, the dental assistant, Narnia, was a true gem. She is full of humor and conversation, which instantly made me feel at ease and distracted me from my anxieties. Fantastic experience: I've been a patient at Strong Roots in Hoboken for three years and fully recommend their team and office! Dr. Ramya has always been friendly, supportive, and answers all my questions. Her team made the Invisalign process easy for me and the months flew by. The whole team is very personable and welcoming, especially Ive, who assisted the oral surgeon with my root canal when I first started taking control of my dental health three years ago to scraping off the Invisalign attachments a few months ago.

They did a wonderful job with my cleaning - my boyfriend kept wanting to see my smile after. Negative experience: I had an extremely frustrating experience with this clinic. I uploaded my insurance card as requested and spoke with a staff member named Aakash, who confirmed my appointment with Dr. Ramya for July 24 at 3 PM. I even called my insurance company myself to provide the correct insurance ID, which they accepted. On the day of the appointment, I called to confirm — only to be told I had no appointment at all, and that the doctor was not even available. There was no courtesy call, no email, and no explanation. I wasted my time and energy trying to follow up and do everything right from my end, only to be met with disorganization and poor communication. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, especially in a healthcare setting. If your time and peace of mind matter, I strongly recommend finding a provider who respects both.

Fantastic experience: Update: Second visit was just as lovely. All of the staff is professional and caring and I hope others can feel the same warmth when they have their appointments. The team here is very helpful and good at their job. You will feel a quality customer experience from reception to leaving the door.

Fantastic experience: Have done 2 cleanings and a wisdom tooth extraction here. I don't have dental insurance so I do their deal for 2 cleanings per year plus a discount on any additional service. They do good work and are kind when giving instructions or answering questions. My only complaint is they are always late. I've never been seen on time; usually spend about 30 minutes in the waiting room.
