And like most people, it's been very difficult journey searching for a quality and caring dentist. But unlike most people, I have found not only a very skilled dentist but also an approachable dentist. I've waited a long time to write this review in order to ensure that my impressions of Dr. Daniel Suh is accurate. I first started going to Dr. Daniel Suh about 7 years ago. Service, quality and friendliness has been super consistent throughout the entire time. My entire family has been going to his dental office a few times a year and none of them ever complain in the seven years. His dental office not only deserves but also earned my 5 star rating. Needless to say my first impression of his dental office has not changed! His dental office is a rare find! I've had simple cleanings to Implant work, and every visit is a pleasure! They have top of the line dental equipment where they take x-rays from your dental chair. Other places made me go to different rooms and used the old fashioned paper copy. Nothing wrong with that but this office invested in technology and I like it! I do get nervous tendencies around dentists but the dentists here, especially Dr. Daniel Suh, are simply awesome! They put me at ease. Dr. Daniel Suh is really likeable and easy to talk to. The staff always accommodate my schedule and my needs in a professional and enjoyable manner. I unequivocally recommend Dr. Daniel Suh to everyone.

Negative experience: Friendly Team, but Costly & Unnecessary Procedure Led to New Pain I chose Dr. Cho's practice specifically because of the high reviews, and I can confirm that Dr. Cho and his team are friendly and professional. Unfortunately, my personal experience took a sharp turn for the worse at the end. I was advised to get significant work done on my teeth, not because of any immediate pain, discomfort, or damage, but simply as a precautionary measure against potential future issues. I was hesitant; I'm a firm believer in "if it's not broken, don't fix it." However, the doctor was very adamant about addressing the possibility ahead of time, and I ultimately agreed to proceed. This turned out to be the worst mistake. After the work was completed, my teeth did look more visually pleasing, but I now have noticeable and persistent discomfort in the treated area. This new problem is now leading to the need for much more serious work, likely a root canal. Basically, I spent money to get something done that I didn't need, only to now have to spend significantly more money to fix a new issue that the procedure created. I wish I had followed my initial instinct and left things alone.

Negative experience: I had an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience with Dr. Cho’s Invisalign treatment. I began the process 18 months before my wedding, expecting to have my teeth properly aligned in time for my big day. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a complete waste of time and money. After diligently wearing Invisalign for four months with no visible progress, Dr. Cho suggested taking new X-rays and ordering a new set of aligners. I trusted his expertise and went along with it. Another three months passed with no results. Once again, he recommended the same process—new X-rays, new aligners, and more waiting. When this third attempt also failed, my wedding was rapidly approaching, and I had no choice but to abandon the treatment entirely. In total, I spent nearly $8,000, only to be left with zero results. Seeking a second opinion in NYC, I was shocked to learn that my teeth were never suitable for Invisalign in the first place. I was informed that only traditional braces could have corrected my alignment issues—something Dr. Cho should have known from the start. Instead, he strung me along, wasting my time and money on a treatment that was never going to work. I strongly advise against getting Invisalign at this practice. They may be fine for routine cleanings, but when it comes to orthodontics, they are either incompetent or dishonest. Save yourself the frustration—and thousands of dollars—by going elsewhere

Fantastic experience: I had the procedure Fotona smoothlase, liplase, eyelash and face resurfacing. When my friend recommended these treatments/procedures I was a little skeptical at first. But I decided to have it thinking nothing to lose. However, the effect is incredible and beyond words. After I had the first treatment I got lot of compliments from my coworkers saying I look different. After the second treatment I can feel myself the face get smoother and wrinkles are faded. My sagging chin is lifted and looks tight. After the third treatment all effects improve and my thin lips get thicker. Truly it is better than I expected. After the fourth treatment I saw my picture of before and after. I look so different! The face looks tighter with less wrinkles, lifted chin , and plump lips. Even skin complexion looks bright. Overall I look much younger!! I am scheduled to have my fifth treatment next week I cannot wait to see how the last treatment makes me look wonderful. I thank my friend who introduced this treatment to me. Just like my friend did I highly recommend it to all who want to look great.

Fantastic experience: I was recommended by a friend to try the Fotona Smoothlase face resurfacing after she had a great experience here as well. At first, I was nervous to try it, but after the first session, I realized there was no reason to be. Everything went smoothly, and she maintained open communication, which helped me relax. The results were so amazing that I decided to have my eyes and lips done as well! Fantastic experience: Great location due to the people. This is my favorite dentist spot I've had, and I've had quite over the years due to moving. Andreina is a great hygienist who always makes me feel well cared for. She explains the process and answers any questions I have. Dr. Cho is also great to work with and provides a simple and direct explanation about recommended care. I like to do my own research or get second opinions on major work, and I've always come to agree with Dr. Cho's recommendations.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had the worst experience with my lock jaw/misaligned jaw. Everywhere I called told me they’ve never seen a case like mine, and some referred me to Rutgers, where the wait for an appointment can be over a month long. My boyfriend found Dr. Suh for me actually, and I came in, and Dr. Suh was very informative and explained what was happening to the cartilage in my jaw in ways that I could understand, and he had great confidence that he could fix me up. A dental splint and a few checkups later, we’re looking in good shape. Staff in the office is very kind too! If you’re devastated about having TMJ issues, highly recommend you come here.

Fantastic experience: Had to have my first implant and was very nervous and scared because I have heard horror stories about how awful getting an implant was. I can attest to the fact that this was the smoothest procedure ever. Because of childhood trauma, getting x-rays is an anxiety inducing procedure but the staff and doctor were super patient with me and we got through it. Everyone was very pleasant, explained every little detail completely, and answered any questions I had. Will be returning to have another implant done once the first one is all complete.

Fantastic experience: This is a great dentist! I had to get an emergency root canal done and they gave me an appointment super quick after the first visit (on the same day). The root canal was painless and smooth. I also got the crown done which took a couple of weeks but the temporary filling worked well and the crown fits perfect. I’m going to make them my permanent dentist. I am very happy and would definitely recommend them to anyone who is scared of dentists and isn’t!

Negative experience: The only positives about this place is the hygienist who did a good job teeth cleaning, and the nice equipment/facilities. Hence the 2 stars. I was not a fan of these dentists. Like other reviewers have claimed, the billing department tries to max out your insurance and the dentists themselves are hit or miss. For example, my filling fell out the very next day (one of their other dentists had to fix it), and my wife had issues with her filling (i.e., her gums were exposed and she had to go back to get it fixed. Even then, it never fully got fixed and she had to switch to a different dentist to get the issue resolved).

Negative experience: (TLDR this place cost me more than $3000, made my teeth even worse, and tries to let me pay more.) Why I think this place is a total fraud and I would never come back? See my 3 reasons below: 1. This place will overcharge you and your insurance without letting you know. This place gave me an quote about fillings and crowns, but unfortuantely after the treatment the teeth became even more sensitive! I called them and they said they could fix that. After my another visit it was still not resolved. Several days later when I log in my insurance portal I found they submitted a $200 claim (much more than a filling!) for "pain treatment" and several hundred $ for x-rays, which they (i) did not ask me about whether I want to do and (ii) did not let me know how much it will cost. If I did not check my insurance portal I would never know this and they can get free money! I also knew other victims like me, how got an quote for the treatment, but charged MUCH MORE for additional visit since the treatment only covers 5 visits, which the patient did not know at all. This is totally unacceptable since it is their bad skills which forces the patients to visit more and even pay more! They will waste both time and money of patients, and silently steal the money from both you and your insurance. 2. This place do not know how to do fillings and crown properly. As I mentioned earlier, every single tooth got more sensitive after their treatment. Water, wind, anything will make the teeth uncomfortable. They did a lot of x-rays but still did not know why my teeth feel uncomfortable. (Or they knew it was because their bad skills but they could not tell me this.) Due to their unprofessional and careless treatment, I had to find other dentist and pay out of pocket. At another place, the dentist who had over 20 years experience mentionded that the fillings and crowns are done very badly, including a tooth do not need crowns at all! But due to their bad treatment, now I have to do a root canal on that tooth, which will cost another $2,000. 3. This place only cares about making more money instead of the patients. As far as I know, they strongly recommend invisalign to all patients including myself, which cost more than $4,000 and cannot be covered by insurance. When I visit other dentist, he told me that (i) I have TMJ disorder and invisalign will make it worse and (ii) I do not need invisalign at all. Obviously this place urges everyone to pay more, without any consideration of whether the patient need the treatment. Also, I found out that every time there is a bad reviews of this place, a lot of good reviews will appear. So be cautious when reading the "good reviews".

Fantastic experience: Been coming here for the past few years. Getting my routine cleanings done by Andreina is always great. Shes very accommodating to teeth sensitivity and makes sure to explain everything during the process. Very hard to find honest dentist practices in the area, glad to have found this one.

Negative experience: Updates: they called me and explained that they are not wrong since they think they don’t need to tell their patients every time when there is a bill for the patient. I don’t know what kind of business service brain can generate these words. But I do appreciate their honesty for telling their own ethics I went to another dentist this week and he checked my previous x-ray, he said there was no need to get a crown or root canal for that teeth but now after getting the crown here, I do need a RCT now. Haha what a surprising news after they spent almost everything on my insurance ;) I sincerely wish for your business to thrive, as you have been praised for in your reviews. ——————————————— Original review: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this dental office. Initially, they quoted me around $1300, which included my insurance coverage ($840) along with the out-of-pocket expenses for the treatment plan. However, after receiving the treatment, I discovered that they charged my insurance double the amount without informing me beforehand. They just take X-rays without asking and telling you that they will charge on it :) when I came for filling sensitivity check, they charge again. Basically they charge everything and not tell their patients they need to pay! Why they don’t tell? Because if they tell, their patients will leave This discrepancy is unacceptable as it does not align with the information provided in the treatment plan. Additionally, the dental office did not disclose any additional charges, which is highly unprofessional. Furthermore, after the filling, my teeth became more sensitive, which was not a problem before the procedure. And now I might need to have the filling again for that teeth within a month receiving it. This lack of transparency and unexpected charges have left me dissatisfied, and I strongly advise against seeking dental services at this dental office.

My dental history was riddled with dozens of traumatic experiences at the dentist's office, to the point where I've ended up avoiding them as much as possible. As a result, by the time I visited Jersey City Dental Spa, I was dealing with multiple dental issues simultaneously -- a tooth that was left uncrowned after root canal therapy, resulting wear of the aforementioned tooth and overgrowth of gum tissue, a significant overbite, hypodontia, peg laterals, and more. Dr. Cho went above and beyond to explain all of my dental issues in great detail, providing me with treatment options and answering dozens of questions. He's exercised immense patience throughout my journey, staying considerate of my years of mental trauma and truly demonstrating an unparalleled level of care for his patients. Negative experience: I have been going to this dental spa couple of years. First visit they asked me to pay in full and insurance covered amount will be refunded later which went fine. Then second year i went they said the same thing and did perform rootcanal and fillings here. They provided me treatment plan with insurance refund amount. But that never happened. I called and asked them. They told to reapply the insurance. I had couple of back and forth then figured out that they were not supporting my insurance for short time and my treatment happened to be in that interval so nothing was reimbursed. When i told them why wasnt i informed abt this when i made full payment. I never got proper response or refund from them. They just chose to ignore my request. Then the same root canal crown fell off within less then a year. I informed them and they said they will replace it for free and I also had one more crown to put in different teeth and that will now be covered by insurance since they are back supporting that insurance so I went back and got the new crown and old broken crown fixed. Keeping aside my disapointment of me being fully charged without informing me about the discontiniuing my insurance for a short while. I still didnt post any review. I am putting the review now after a while of these things happening is because the crown that broke and they said they would fix was never fixed properly. I am still getting like a decay kind of smell from it. It was probably never properly cleaned when they added some glue to reattach same broken crown. I brush several times and still i can smell decay time to time. I know its gross but it happening to me. so now I am going to different place to get the crown fixed. But all in all I hate giving negative comments but the disapointment has stayed with me for quite sometime so I had to post.

Negative experience: I typically refrain from writing negative reviews unless absolutely necessary as you can see from my extensive review history, but my experience at this dental clinic warrants a warning to others. Several years ago, I underwent a root canal procedure performed by Dr. Suh, during which my tooth was cracked. Initially, Dr. Suh claimed it was a superficial crack, but recent findings from a CT scan revealed a more serious issue. It was discovered that not only did the root canal result in a bacterial infection within the tooth, but it also led to the formation of an abscess and triggered an autoimmune response in my body. This negligence on Dr. Suh's part caused me years of illness until the underlying problems were identified through the CT scan. The severity of the situation nearly cost me my life. Furthermore, the office staff displayed unprofessional behavior by disregarding customer concerns and even laughing when I attempted to explain the complications I was facing. It is unacceptable for a healthcare professional to exhibit such insensitivity. I strongly advise against seeking treatment at this clinic. The careless root canal procedure conducted by Dr. Suh had severe consequences on my health. It was only through my own investigation and the CT scan that the true extent of the damage was revealed. To ensure proper care for your dental needs, I urge you to seek services elsewhere.

However, he checked very carefully and found a cavity in one of my teeth. So, I came back to the clinic again for treatment. During the procedure, he was always professional and nice to me. Fantastic experience: Great location and super friendly staff. Dr Suh is the best. My husband and I have been coming here for years. I also had a lot of pain in my jaw recently and tried the PBM laser treatment and it did miracles. I’ve been clenching my teeth a lot due to stress and the pain in my jaw was terrible, this helped significantly.

Fantastic experience: Update: June 2021- I've been coming for about a year now and it is still the best dental experience I've had so far! The office staff is awesome and very proactive. Magali has been great with helping me squeeze in when I had some dental pain on my molars, calling to remind when I have an upcoming appointment, and figuring out my insurance coverage. Andreina makes me feel welcome every time I come for a dental cleaning and has been helping me identify where I need to brush and floss more. Can't say enough about the doc too! Overall Jersey City Dental Spa is my recommendation for any dental work in the JC area. ----- Dr. Cho met with me the same day (as a new patient) that I called in about my old filling falling out and was very accommodating in making sure that I knew exactly what was happening along the way. Great service and very effective staff that got me in the chair and X-rayed as soon as I arrived. He helped me see what Invisalign could do for my smile with a cool 3D model at my request but didn’t upsell me or make me feel pressured. Andreina cleaned my teeth after my filling and was great in making sure that I knew where I need to focus to clean my teeth daily. Fantastic people all around and glad I came.
