Fantastic experience: We moved to Jersey City and I dreaded finding a new dentist, because it took us a while to find a dentist we could trust. We were so glad we found Baines Family Dental near our apartment, and Dr. Marshall and the team are just the people we were looking for. He is thorough, caring, and very efficient. For each treatment, he explains what needs to be done, and show us the photos of the spots. The assistants and dental hygienists are also very friendly and kind. Now we just need to stay put and not move again .

Negative experience: Lack of transparency in billing and fees. My insurance covers two cleaning per year and Bains office in Jersey city is Trying sell deep cleaning with additional fees that were not discussed with the patient before the procedure.

Fantastic experience: I was in unbearable tooth pain on Christmas and didn’t know where to turn. I found Baines Family Dental and called first thing the next day, and they told me to come in right away. From the moment I walked in, I felt cared for. I have a sense of PTSD related to a traumatic dental experience as a child, so going to the dentist is extremely difficult for me. Dr. Keith Baines and his entire staff were absolutely amazing; so kind, patient, and attentive. They explained every step of the process, made sure I was comfortable, and truly put me at ease. The experience was completely painless, and I left with a clear plan and follow-up appointments scheduled. I am so grateful for the compassion and professionalism shown to me. Fantastic experience: I haven’t been to this office in more than 15 years since I moved over an hour away. As luck would have it, my teenager managed to break her front tooth while making TikTok videos with her friends on Thanksgiving weekend. I called our regular dentist and every other dentist within a 10-mile radius, everyone was either closed or couldn’t see her until the following week. Out of local options, I called Dr Baines. Not only were they open, he told me to come over right away and said they’d even stay open past closing to make sure my daughter didn’t go the whole weekend without her smile. Dr. Keith and the entire Saturday staff were incredible. They took her in immediately and she walked out looking as good as new. She was back to smiling and making TikTok videos in the car on the ride home. Thank you for the exceptional care and kindness. It truly meant the world to us.

Fantastic experience: Very courteous and efficient office staff take the usual frustration out of scheduling and follow-ups. Dr.Keith has excellent chair-side manners, making sure I understand what is happening as he's about to proceed and checking on my comfort. It is reassuring to see state-of-the-art technology in each of the exam alcoves. Most of the dread of visiting the dentist is psychology anyway, so this practice makes me feel confident and safe in their care.

In the 11 years I hadn’t seen him, I went to multiple dentists — but none compare to Dr. Baines. He’s professional, thorough, and has a way of making you feel comfortable no matter how nervous you are. I will gladly travel an hour just to see him, and he’s the only dentist I trust for my care.”

Fantastic experience: UPDATE Feb 2025: lmao 5 years later. Love the place. Ashley is my GIRLLL. Also best hygienist. Got me leaving sparkly every time. Thorough and gentle. I had a tiny cavity forming and they offered me some sort of mineral rebuild filling. Only was like $43. They work with your and your case. Not tryna erroneously rack a bill up or drill when not needed (like some other dentists will do). Will be going to this place foreverrrrr! UPDATE Jan 2022: Best dentist office I've ever been to! They're efficient and modern. You fill out all paper work the day before on your phone. Salome has been my dental hygienist twice now. X-rays are quick and I basically fall asleep during the cleaning. Every room has a tv that you can change the channel. Dr. Keith Baines broke the sad news to me that I got my first ever cavities and even though I was only there for an annual cleaning, he was able to fit me in for a cavity filling. The office lady Kathy was so helpful and was clear on how much it would be and explained exactly the price. Dr. Baines and Juana took great care of me during the cavity filling. The novocaine numbing needle didn't hurt nearly as much as I thought and the whole procedure was painless! Just laid there for 20 mins while they did their thing. They took pictures along the way and then showed me everything! The temporary partial mouth paralysis went away within a few hours and there's no residual pain at all. My teeth look like teeth, the filling is white. The entire staff are rockstars. Everyone cares and everyone is efficient and effective. Everything is clean and organized. Salome, Kathy, Juana, and Dr Keith Baines are the people I interested with. I'm never going anywhere else! --- Dec 2020: Fantastic experience! I was a little nervous to go to the dentist b/c coronavirus and all. But there was no waiting room, no wait, only two patients in separate rooms, and all staff were wearing proper PPE and taking extra precaution. They email you all of their forms before your appointment. That way you can actually read what you're signing instead of being rushed and there's no waiting time when you arrive. The hygienist, Salome, was a dream! I practically fell sleep in my chair during my cleaning. She was quick and informative, thorough but gentle. Extra points seeing a boss bad ass black woman in the medical field! Representation matters. Also Dr. Keith was also nice haha.He greeted me at the beginning before my cleaning. Saw him briefly after the cleaning but that's because my teeth are great and I don't have cavities and such. He said "if all people had teeth like you, we'd be out of business." Overall 10 out of 10 out of 10!

Fantastic experience: Dr Beins staff is very accommodating and they care about your dental health. They go out of their way to make you feel welcomed while you are under their care.

Negative experience: This use to be a great family location however after the name change so did the service. Paid $ for services rendered only to receive a bill months later stating I did not pay enough. Why estimate cost either charge a fee and cover any additional or wait to charge a fee until you know the total amount. Lost a faithful customer on pennies to the dollars they've made.

The staff is welcoming, kind, and make the visit pleasant (even though you may be there to get stabbed in the face with a needle and have your tooth drilled!). My dental hygienist, Laurie, was so understanding and kind, and I left with sparkling clean teeth and all my concerns were addressed with care. I had only one tiny cavity that was filled that same morning and it took all of five minutes. The women at the front desk were also wonderful, I had so many questions about my insurance and what would be covered and they outlined all of that for me which I appreciated. Overall, I had the best experience and highly recommend this dental office, I booked my appointment through phone and was able to get in that same week.

My brother is having some dental work done and this brought back memories of visiting Baines for my clicking jaw, around 2001 when I lived in JC. The young dentist and his hygienist were lovely and so warm. As it turns out I also had a couple of cavities I didn't know about and these were successfully addressed together with my TMJ. I've been back in my home country now for years and still haven't forgotten how at ease and well cared for I felt in those couple of visits. It's wonderful to see you're still bringing the smiles!

Fantastic experience: This is by far, one of the best dentist office I've ever been in. As soon as you walk in, you're welcomed by a wonderful team. The beautiful ladies at the front desk quickly gets you settled in, walk you through the process and have one of the hygienist grab you as soon as the forms are filled. As for the hygienist, they're so knowledgeable, I felt I was talking to the dentist himself! They're so sweet and gentle - all that you'd want at the dentist. I hate going to the dentist and get Xrays done because of how much they scrap the top and bottom of your mouth. At this office, they make sure you're comfortable the whole time and constantly ask if you're in any pain or discomfort. A special shout out to Laurie! Dr. Keith Baines is truly a professional. I had some work done with him and glad that I did. He was extremely informative, gave various options and time to decide before making any decisions. Just like the hygienist, he was as gentle and patient as he could be. At the end of my appointment, I asked about other work that I'd like to get done like getting Invisalign. He was able to refer me to a great Orthodontist that is in my network and nearby! Again, on the way out, the wonderful ladies at the front desk welcome you. They run you through what was done, assist on getting your next cleaning scheduled and give you a little cute bag of goodies! The process was so fast, I forgot to ask their names...sorry =/ (My visit was on 3/14/24 at 3 PM) Anyway, I rarely go out of my way to write a review. But this office deserves all the recognition and I 100% recommend them!

Fantastic experience: I went in last minute to have the doctor evaluate some pain I was having. He was very helpful and referred me to an endodontist. I plan on returning for a teeth cleaning and exam. Everyone in the office was very nice.

Fantastic experience: I've been a loyal client of Baines Family Dental since I was child.When there dad was located on the second floor above geiger jewelers on Central Ave and continued to go when his children took over.Til this day I travel from where I'm located to get my cleanings and any dental care.There scheduling depart are great friendly and work with you to get you scheduled.The Banines brothers are very professional and good at there practice. Fantastic experience: If I could leave 6 stars I would , went for a tooth extraction, even though I did not have an appointment , the girls in the front desk found a way to let me in quickly . The doctor and the staff professional, efficient and quick , explained to me what are my options and what’s best to do , the tooth was out after a minute of work , so painless I didn’t believe it was out , special thanks to luana who made sure I was comfortable and got all I needed she even explained to me what to do after the tooth extraction , I was horrified from dentist’s but this made me love dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I had an emergency dental visit with Dr. Marshall. He is the BEST!!!! His staff went above and beyond, I immediately got an appointment. They are welcoming and make you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend Dr Marshall. He’s extremely knowledgeable in his profession.

Fantastic experience: The hygienist was excellent. She would keep checking to make sure I was okay. She explained everything she did step by step. Dr Marshall was excellent. He showed me and explained all the work that need to be done on my teeth. He was gentle and listened to my concerns and questions.

Fantastic experience: I moved to the JC Heights area about a year ago and was trying to find a trustworthy dentist. I tried Woo Dental for my first annual cleaning, and then Baines Family Dental. I ultimately prefer Baines because I felt they were patient-centered and focus on recommending and providing personalized/practical care. For example, I came in for my annual cleaning and told them I have sensitivity issues - Baines prescribed PreviDent. At Woo Dental, I noted same sensitivity issue, and they recommended a super expensive deep cleaning that was questionable as to if necessary or not. Ultimately, I feel Baines is patient-centered and willing to spend time to educate you on the options and give you practical treatments.

She sounded rude and very uncordially impolite; otherwise the entire staff including Dr. Marshall are excellent. My last visit this time showed much improved staff reception manners.
