Fantastic experience: Super sensitive and thoughtful with our kids! Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: The best children's dentist we've been to. Everyone is super nice and friendly. My kiddo felt very calm and relaxed through the cleaning and when he had to get tooth caps. The dentist was so patient even when my kiddo got squirms. Everything about the office and the people shows that they put the kids first and make sure they have the most positive experience while also doing an excellent job caring for their teeth and promoting dental health in a positive way.
Fantastic experience: We love Dr. Ko so much! He is incredibly patient and calm. Our daughter has so much anxiety and fear going to the dentist. Not only did we have to do pediatric anesthesia, she had to undergo root canals, fillings, caps, and crowns. She is not an easy patient. His staff are impeccable! They are kind and understanding. It makes a very scary experience easy. The TV and the toys are the kids favorite!

Fantastic experience: Best pediatric dentistry we’ve ever been to! We went to 2 other dental offices, and all of them recommended general anesthesia just to treat one tooth and place a crown for my son. Here, they were able to do everything with only local anesthesia in about 15 minutes! The doctor and the entire staff are true professionals. We’re extremely happy with our experience and very grateful we found this place!❤️

Fantastic experience: We had such a wonderful experience at the clinic. Dr. Go took the time to explain everything in detail, comforted my child who was terrified and crying, and performed the treatment perfectly. I truly appreciated his patience, kindness, and professionalism throughout the entire visit. I also want to thank the staff member who took the X-rays and the photos of my child’s teeth at the beginning of the appointment. They were incredibly gentle, kind, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The front desk staff were also warm, welcoming, and very helpful. We came in to treat my child’s loose tooth, but we left feeling that our hearts had been healed as well. Thank you to everyone at the clinic for such an exceptional experience. You are truly the best!

The hygienists and assistants are always gentle, patient, and excellent with kids. Dr. Ko is outstanding—knowledgeable, thorough, and truly trustworthy. What really stands out is that even though they’re clearly busy, we can always get an appointment in a timely manner, and we never feel rushed once we’re there. Positive experience: Brush and Play is the best dentistry, the staff are kind , patient and gentle. They explain the procedure to my kids. Dr Ko is exceptional, very attentive and explains findings well. My experience has been great with receiving care. BUT the ONLY issue is scheduling. For school age kids its impossible to bring them in during school hours. They don't have availability for early morning (7 am as some orthodontists have) nor evening after 4pm.Currently they are filled up until January 2026 for a late afternoon appointment (after 3:30pm for regular checkup and cleaning). Very disappointing.

The late afternoon appointments (after 3:30 PM) are our most in-demand time slots and are often booked many months in advance, as you've unfortunately experienced. We are always trying to find ways to better accommodate our patients' busy schedules, and we will certainly take your feedback about early morning or later evening hours into consideration as we plan for the future.
In the meantime, we would be happy to add your children to our priority cancellation list for an earlier afternoon appointment. If a spot opens up, we will contact you immediately.

Fantastic experience: My 2 year old son fell and his front tooth was loose then fell out...... I panicked and called Dr. Ko. Right away, he calmed me down and asked me what happened. He then said he can see my son within 1 hour on SUNDAY! I was not his patient but knew that from my friends that they spoke highly about Dr. Ko. Dr. Ko examined my son and told me that his torned gum will heal naturally. My son, never went to the dentist before, just opened up to him and stayed still through his examination. After he was done, my son gave him huge high-five! He asked that he sees my son in 3 weeks for a follow up. As a parent, it is assuring to have a dentist who is able to see a child in emergency situation and also comforted me that this happens alot and it is okay. Eventhough my son was not his patient, he took care of him and for that I am very grateful. My son now has his dentist and will be transferring my oldest son's care to him too. Thank you Dr. Ko!!!

Fantastic experience: It's my 26-month old daughter's 1st dental visit and Dr. Steven and all of the staff made it less scary for her! They went all the way to appease her. The explanation as to what will transpire during the visit was quite clear (using a brief slideshow) and Dr. Steven himself was quite lovely with my child. I've learned so much! Fantastic experience: [update] Just want to share another positive experience. My son had a bike accident on Saturday evening. I wrote to Dr. Steven’s office after midnight and received his personal response before 6am! Even though he wasn’t available due to teaching duty, he scheduled an appointment for me with Dr Kim for Monday afternoon. Dr. Kim was very kind and knowledgeable as well. It’s a great feeling that we can count on the office for emergencies. Huge thank you to Dr. Steven and Dr. Kim, as well as the friendly assistant whose name I didn’t catch. [original post] Dr. Steven is very friendly and very skilled in what he does. He extracted a baby tooth for my son recently. The whole experience from booking the appointment to walking out of the office was very pleasant. His assistant is also very friendly. The office is clean and welcoming. I highly recommend Dr Steven and his office.

Fantastic experience: I am must have called over 10 ped dentists from Redwood City to San Jose. We ended up seeing 4 or 5 for this dental problem my 4yo had. Dr ko really is the best. Almost everyone wanted to put my child under general anesthesia because that would be more convenient. Dr ko’s plan made the most sense. My kid was able to get his teeth fixed with minimal trauma. I’m beyond grateful. Please call his office. The whole process was pretty smooth. You can tell Dr. ko really cares about what he does. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We love Dr. Ko and his team! They are magical with children! I’ve never been to a more amazing dental clinic. My daughter becomes more confident with each visit, making my job a lot easier. Considering this is a dentist visit, I still can’t believe it’s not like pulling teeth (pardon the pun) to get her to go. Dr. Kim was super patient and kind, and our baby was able to get through his first visit super comfortably (I was more nervous than my baby was, haha)! Fantastic experience: Hands down the best pediatric experience we have had. Dr. Ko is a genuinely caring doctor who thinks from the patient’s perspective and recommends what will be best in the big picture rather than jumping into invasive procedures. He treats the kids with respect and gentle empathy and is so careful with his explanation. What a gem this office is. Brush and Play deserves two thumbs up!

Fantastic experience: Awesome team and service! We had our boy checked with another dentist before coming here, initially we just wanted to get a second opinion. I was impressed by the quality of their service and the teamwork. Their treatment plan quote was 10 times less expensive than the previous one, without missing any problem teeth. I rarely post reviews, but I want to post for them, as I sincerely appreciate their service. Will schedule my boy’s surgery with Dr. Steven.

We were actually referred to another pediatric dentist for 3 baby teeth extractions but we had such a great experience with another child for another extraction that we had to see Dr. Steve again. Fantastic experience: My daughter Aurora went there on April 5 for the very first time! Everyone is just so friendly and accommodating. My daughter loves the place and it’s kids friendly! Dr. Dentist was excellent in motivating and convinced my daughter to cooperate with him. My daughter is only 3 years old and it was a success visit! Fantastic experience: The entire experience was exceptional, from the initial scheduling to the actual appointment. Dr. Ko and his staff were amazing and extremely patient with my 2 year old daughter during her first dental exam. In addition, the front office staff especially Minnie went above and beyond in welcoming us and even turning on Cinderella when they heard my daughter liked that movie. I also was impressed with their COVID protocols as many places are getting more lackadaisical lately. I highly recommend Brush and play pediatric dentist. My daughter is actually looking forward to next dental exam!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Steven Ko is simply an amazing person and professional! We had an emergency with our 2 years old child the night before long Thanksgiving weekend. We called many dental emergencies and non of them would see us since it was 6 p.m. already. My dentist (for adults only) referred BrushAndPlay, I gave them a call and Dr. Steven picked up the phone himself! I told him my story, it was near 7 p.m. already and he kindly offered to see us (despite the fact that we were not his patients) in his office right away!!! We were able to get to his office by 8 p.m. only, and he kindly and very professionally helped our child! We are so grateful to him. His office is amazing! Our child felt really comfortable and went through the procedure smoothly. Such professional, kind and compassionate attitude is a rare gift. We highly recommend becoming Dr. Steven Ko's patients!
