Positive experience: My experience was great! The entire team was friendly. Love the atmosphere it was very clean and all the technology was up to date and state of the art. Love that there was water available in the waiting area. Nicole Ray is the absolute best hygienist ever! I couldn’t give a 5 because I was disappointed that the staff didn’t alert me ahead of time that I’d have to pay up front because my insurance was out of network.

Fantastic experience: First appointment. Anxious about leaving my dentist of 30+ years. Asked for referrals from people in the area and did not receive any strong endorsements. Recommended to me by my doctor who is a patient there. Every phase from dealing with the front office, dental hygienist to Dr. Putt was top notch. Very professional, friendly and attentive. Feel fortunate to have found them.

Fantastic experience: My semi-annual checkup at Wayland Dental went smoothly and swiftly, not rushed. The hygienist was new to me. Maryse was thorough, gentle placing the bitewings and in cleaning and in polishing my teeth. The ultrasonic tool, used together with a water pic was painless. It gets into crevices beautifully without causing discomfort. Dr. Putt was not in today, but there were no dental issues to note. The staff were very helpful in explaining new billing procedures related to a change in my policy. My husband and I will continue with Wayland despite it being outside of our BMGH network. Our years of trust in Dr. Pitt & his staff’s skills are all vital.

Negative experience: Unpleasant experience: 1. Was quoted a maximum of $150 out of pocket for a minor filling restoration. After my insurance was billed, the office is asking for extra - which I am unwilling to pay as I specifically inquired about MAXIMUM out of pocket when I made the appointment 2. The work (small chipped filling that needed restoration) lasted exactly 3 weeks.

Negative experience: I have been a patient of Wayland Dental for well over 8 years. I went in for a cleaning and when the Dentist came in (Dr. Raymond Tang) he noticed that my back molar was close to the gum line. He proceeded to tell me that it could be from cancer cells growing but wasn't sure and it was "up to me" if I want to see a specialist. Needless to say- I panicked. I ended up seeing a periodontist that same day who confirmed that the tooth was broken down to the gum and that I do not have cancer... Dr. Putt is a great dentist. Only reason I am giving 2 stars.

Fantastic experience: First impression: greeted at the door with energetic happy staff. I haven’t gotten to the teeth part, but for ANY business, this first impression is really important. They do this, really well. My hygienist Ashley was very friendly and knowledgeable in offering suggestions to improve my brushing and other care. I’ve been goi g to Dr Putts for more than 10 yrs. Ashley might be the best hygienist I’ve ever had, anywhere. She was awesome. Dr Putts. Friendly and personable is what you experience at the very first meeting. You want to say, “I could hang out with you you are such a nice guy”. And he is. But he is also incredibly skilled and a perfectionist. I lost a tooth and he had one made. I thought it looked good but the color was slightly off. He sent it back to the lab “I want this to be perfect” he said. I waited another few weeks. Darn near, perfect. I introduced my parents recently. My father called me up after his appt to tell me how great an experience he had fixing his tooth. He was so over the top with excitement remarking that he wished he had started going to them sooner. Yes. Wayland Dental is, that great. The entire team. Really, great.

Negative experience: In over 6 years there as a patient, I have never had twice the same dental hygienist. Some were ok, some others less ok. They don't seem to be able to keep staff which is a red flag for me. While going there twice a year, there was always a time where the dentist could not show up for xyz reasons. I finally made the switch to another dentist and his first question was how long has it been between my dental appointments because he found 2 cavities that looked like there were here for a long time and left untreated... When I said I have been going twice a year, he was shocked... In short, you are better served elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: We just brought our granddaughter-3rd generation at 3 seeing Dr Putt. He's so wonderful! The entire team at Wayland Dental is a wonderful group that has been caring for our dental needs for the last 25 years. Fantastic experience: I was at Wayland Dental today for my 6 month cleaning. From when you enter into reception all the way until check out, you are so well cared for! Wayland Dental has an exceptionally clean office. While you get your procedure, an air purifier is going and you can relax to music on the tv in front of your chair. The cleaning was thorough, my hygienist was wonderful and exam also thorough. I trust everyone at Wayland Dental implicitly. Fantastic experience: Easy to schedule appointment, efficient visits. They also have an automated system that allows patients to pick up appointments that are freed up in 2 days.

Negative experience: First they changed their billing (patient had to prepay and insurance paid us). Just today they told me they no longer take Blue Criss yet Blue Cross doesn’t have any outpatient benefits in Massachusetts. Alas, after about 15 years I’m forced to change dentists. So if you have Blue Cross, you won’t be welcome at Wayland Dental. Sorry. Very disappointed.

After many years of shunning away the dentist due to anxiety and unresolved trauma with past dental care, I have re-committed to prioritizing my oral health, and I am so thankful that I was referred to Dr. Putt and his incredible team Wayland Dental. From the moment I walked in, I was never once made to feel ashamed for the gap in my dental care and instead focused on helping me forward with my oral care journey with ease and confidence. Furthermore, I am a disaster of a patient, and even of the midst of my anxiety getting fillings addressed, I was treated with kindness and compassion with a side a levity and humor. I cannot recommend Wayland Dental enough!

Negative experience: Former patient. They can’t handle insurance claims, they don’t send them in and try to tell you that something “isn’t covered under your plan” before filing it. They really don’t know how to file intense claims so not worth it to go here if you have insurance. Hire a professional to appropriately handle insurance claims or don’t continue to accept dental insurance. I spent way too much money OOP to this dental practice when my insurance would have covered it!

Fantastic experience: Love Wayland Dental! I was nervous about finding a dentist that I liked when I moved to MA and am SO happy I found Dr. Putt and his team at Wayland Dental. The whole staff is so kind, friendly, and helpful... From scheduling to exams, and everything in between, they are the best!

Negative experience: Be careful of excessive treatment! I was given a filling without clear explanation of the reasons and spot to be treated. Ever after that, it caused lots of pain for me ( assuming nerve was revealed and drilling was too much) I called and they gave me another round of same filling, still lots of pain, then they recommended me to do root canal and arranged root canal consultation right away at the facility showed me how seamless they can do for root canal from making the crown to install the crown, and suggested me to get it done. It was a tooth never caused any problem, until their drilling. Now I have to deal with root canal???!( I had many root canal in past due to injury hence familiar with dental work) I found another dentist for second opinion who gave me some ideas of trying to save that tooth, I applied those and waited for another 6 month, that pain went away and I can still use that tooth today , withOUT root canal!!! I can't help thinking that there is profit driven motive in the whole thing, so use your best judgement!

Fantastic experience: I started going to Dr. Putt years ago when he first opened his practice in Wayland after serving in the army and have never looked back. This practice offers the best of everything - cutting edge state of the art technology; friendly, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable staff; high quality work; and accessibility when emergencies come up. Also, the office incorporates all the latest measures for to ensure a Covid safe environment. Patients and staff are required to wear masks, each room is equipped with air filters, and rooms are sanitized before a new patient enters the room. Yesterday, I saw Cyndi for a dental cleaning and couldn't have been more pleased. She is warm, personable and extremely competent. During the time I sat in her chair, she located a crack in a lower tooth, checked for recession, did a cancer scan, and slowly and carefully removed every bit of plaque and tartar on my teeth in a pain free efficient manner. The whole process was so comfortable and relaxing that I left feeling as though I had spent the afternoon at spa rather than in the dental chair.

Negative experience: This place use to be good with a friendly staff but there has been many changes and now has a horrible dentist. I do not remember her name but I believe she is the only female dentist. I went in today to have 2 fillings done. I was sent a payment estimate on the work being done. I was told by the Dental assistant Rosemary when I arrived that we were doing 2 fillings on my bottom teeth which I signed on the consent form for. At my last appointment I had with her she told me we would be doing the 2 bottom filling and removing bonding from an old retainer. (She said it was free of charge because it would be less then 5 minutes of work) Back to today when the dentist came in she said we are going to remove the bar and fix the 2 bottom teeth under the bar. Which she did I was in the chair waiting for the filling when she said we were done that I need to schedule another appointment for the two fillings and that one was bad I shouldn’t wait. I was very confused. I got out of the chair went out from saw the two fillings crossed of the checkout sheet. Then I was charged 211 for a procedure that I did not want and did not agree too. I asked the receptionist was I suppose to have fillings today? She said yes you were. I said please cancel all my appointments because I don’t know who decided what I was having done today but we are done here. I called and spoke to the office manager Chrystal and she was very apologetic and offered to refund me. She also confirmed that I was suppose to have fillings. After we hung up this dentist called to explain to me what happened but frankly I do not want excuses or reasons this whole this is very unprofessional a waste of my time. I have had these retainers for over 20 years why would any GOOD KNOWLEDGEABLE DENTIST think this was important when I need two fillings and I am out of the dental Insurance until January.

Positive experience: I've been going to Dr. Putt and Wayland Dental for over 15 years now (started at the previous practice that he took over) and it's usually a very good experience. All the hygienists are very good -- steady hands, pleasant and gently prodding about ways to improve brushing & flossing habits. They make a usually unpleasant dental cleaning session almost enjoyable. Dr. Putt is always gregarious and enthusiastic, while also being great at giving candid updates on my dental health situation (what needs doing, and what doesn't). Would definitely recommend it to someone looking for a new dentist.

Fantastic experience: It’s no secret that I’m not too crazy about the dentist. Avoid, delay reschedule. I have to say up till now that would be my habit. How ever my last few appointments at Wayland Dental have changed a life long preconception of the pain and discomfort of dentistry. Between gettin a cap, experiencing gum surgery and of course cleanings, I had a lot of time in the chair. But! Each experience was surprisingly easy to get through and the good dental professionals were kind and compassionate and understanding. My last cleaning with Michelle was almost a party! Thank you all for being such a great bunch! I will not cancel again!
