Negative experience: Leaving a review of 1 star because of the poor practices for out of network clients. I came in for a routine dental cleaning, not knowing whether the care was in or out of network. I overheard the lady at the front desk saying something about out of network but wasn't sure if it was about my account. So when I was being called back to get my teeth cleaned and asked if my services were fully covered by insurance I was told that the lady was instructed to take me back for the xray scan and cleaning so the front lady's must've determined it was fine. If I had been informed my services were fully out of network I would've likely cancelled the appointment, instead I received a $275 bill for services I should've received fully free.To say the least, these people will not be touching my teeth ever again in my life. When I am kept in the dark and told afterwards my services should be covered and I owed nothing, I never expected to have to pay another penny for preventative care that was 100% covered under my policy for in network care.

Fantastic experience: 6/2026 - I've been a patient here for many years. When it comes to removing hardened plaque, hygienist Jamie is the best. She pays close attention to detail. My teeth were left clean, smooth and polished ... without gum inflammation. 11/2025 - Jamie gave my teeth a thorough cleaning and polishing. She, and Dr Okoniewski completed a good oral exam in a friendly manner. Office staff were kind and helpful. 10/31/24 - I was given a thorough cleaning today by Jamie. The doctor and all the staff are kind and personable. Chelsie did a very good job cleaning my teeth. She has a gentle, but thorough technique. With warm conversation and a calm voice, she kept the experience comfortable. 1/9/18 LaSandra gave my teeth a great cleaning. She didn't hurt my gums at all. She had good advice for me and was very personable. (She also has a beautiful smile).

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist is always a little scary but this appointment really reconciled me with the thought. They provided a cost estimate upfront, showed me my X-rays, and educated me on what the issues were and what they really meant. Bonus point for having an AI powered software that helped make me understand what I was looking at too. I didn't feel swindled or sold for things I didn't need and the price was a lot less than I thought it would be (perhaps thanks to my insurance but still). Despite not having gone to the dentist in a couple of years and having worse dental hygiene than I really should, the doctors didn't make me feel guilty about it and just focused on the solutions. I mean, the before and after pictures of the dental cleaning speak for themselves...

Fantastic experience: This dental office is fabulous! From the front desk to the services provided by internal staff is amazing and professional. I needed a filling after my cleaning and they were able to do this while I was there! They checked my insurance asap to confirm what my out of pocket cost would be. Also this office can do your crown in the same day of your appointment. No need to come back. They can make them onsite!

This team just radiates care and excellence! They’ve been so helpful to me and understanding with changes to my appointments! Dr. Okoniewski will do right by you and if there’s any discomfort, go back through and fix it, and I appreciate the thorough care I receive at this office! They remember about my job and ask me more about it each visit, and just do great work. I had some dental work done in the past elsewhere that he had to navigate and correct to some degree, and his help with that has been so pivotal in feeling comfortable again eating my favorite foods. Fantastic experience: Ive had 8 Oral Surgeries, seen dozens of dentist and this entire team is great from start to finish! Greg is highly skilled at his craft and that is why I initially chose Advance Dental but the staff has made each process simple and smooth as well! Would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: This is a great dentist office. My first visit was in 2004 when it was a small office. I recently came back after years of being away and the staff is still great. Very friendly and efficient. Dr. Okinowski is wonderful dentist.

Fantastic experience: As a visitor from out of state, I was desperate to find a highly rated dentist who could replace my broken crown with a same day crown. Advanced Dental Concepts got me a appointment in 2 days, and Dr. Okoniewski got me in and out of the office in 2 hours and 10 minutes with a perfectly fitted new crown. He explained the whole process in detail, which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly, and efficient, too. This practice well deserves it's very high rating.

Fantastic experience: The office was spacious, clean, and welcoming. The staff was all friendly and very helpful. When I walked in for my appointment, they had already verified with my insurance that the appointment would be covered, and when the dentist found cavities, they had a cost estimate ready for the fillings before I got out of the chair. The hygienist and dentist were both professional, kind, and explained everything they would be doing as well as the rationale and results. I’ll definitely be sticking with this office.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Okoniewski just filled 2 cavities and a chip on my upper and lower front teeth. Not only did he repair the teeth, it appears I had cosmetic dentistry. The teeth look renewed. All the many crowns and fillings Dr. Okoniewski has done for me look outstanding. I would recommend Dr. Okoniewski for any general dentistry and would feel confident choosing him for cosmetic dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to Dr. Okoniewski for 40 years. He is an excellent dentist. He does beautiful work, totally pain free. In addition to being compassionate and caring, he is an all around great guy!

Negative experience: If you are going for a cleaning you should be fine. I went for a tooth extraction which ended with a continuation with an oral surgeon the following afternoon. As a note there were a lot of hours between appointments (about 24).The oral surgeon was somewhat dumbstruck when I told them I was sent home with nothing for the pain, or any antibiotic type product for the potential infection. I sadly will not be going back as a matter of personal protection I can’t see taking the chance again.

Fantastic experience: Personnel met me in the. Parking lot. They were friendly, courteous and thorough. They already had blank forms at the ready and came out promptly when I finished. My teeth cleaning was prompt, polite and professional. Dr. Okinowski was his usual friendly, personal and professional self. I will return there as often as needed to keep my natural teeth healthy for the rest of my life. I had a crown put on today. My appoinrment was for 3:00 p.m. and I was out before 5:15. The crown was measured, made, cured and installed at one place the same day. I was eating pizza by six p.m. Grrreeat!!

Fantastic experience: Recently switched to this dentist office after not being happy with my old one. Like many people, going to the dentist is not my favorite activity, but I feel as though this place really cares about your dental health. My first appt they told me I had cracked fillings that needed replacing. My previous place never mentioned that at all. Few weeks later I got my fillings redone by Dr. O and he’s such a nice guy. Has great bedside manner. Didn’t seem like he was rushing to do the next patient or anything. Told me what he was doing each step of the way. I also need a crown done eventually and they told me it’s done in the same day, which I thought was awesome. Trying somewhere new is always kind of nerve wracking but I’m glad I made the switch! :)

Negative experience: It was actually terrible. I was embarrassed. I will never refer nor recommend. I went in there on an emergency. I had a bridge fall out. I understand they're not gonna help anybody unless payment is made in full I understand no payment arrangements I get it so I simply asked if the dentist could put my crown back in because it's looks terrible my business. I'm dealing with clientele every day till I figured it out. I don't wanna look this way. I was told it wouldn't go back in within two minutes of me, sitting in my truck in the parking lot it went back into the spot where it fell out , the very least I don't look ridiculous. Now I'm in the process of working with another dentist. I will never recommend and will always be honest and steer people away from your service embarrassing experience.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going here for years and have an endless list of nice things to say about this dental practice, from the front desk to DDS, but here’s what I think really speaks volumes: other dentists speak very highly of Dr. O and I have been complimented several times by other dental practitioners on the quality of his work over the years, from crowns to veneers. In my opinion, there is no better judgment of a person’s work than by peer review…so the fact that other dentists admire his work is all I need to know to rest assured that I am in good hands at Advanced Dental Concepts.

Negative experience: The doctor is great, but the front desk staff need serious improvement. I specifically requested an estimate for my dental procedure, and they provided a figure. However, when I came in, they informed me that the cost would be triple what they had originally quoted. When I questioned this, they admitted to an error but still charged me a different amount. For my follow-up visit on the other side of the filling, I was charged yet another different price. They couldn’t explain why, only saying it was another mistake. It’s clear they don’t know how to do their job properly, and it ended up being a huge waste of money. Please triple check your procedures with your insurance company before you come in or they will mess it up for you.

Negative experience: Called and made an appt for a consult because I'm struggling with old implants. Was in the de list chair for less than 10 minutes, was give. Dental wax and sne son my way for $79. What a waste of time and $$ They also didn't tell me the cost of the consultation ahead of time. If they had I probably wouldn't have gone. Other dental consults have been free.

Fantastic experience: Great service from all the staff in this place. I had a broken teeth so they accepted my appointment as an urgency the same day, definitely a win for me since other places didn't seem to care. Then I was impressed by the technology this place has, since I required a crown, they took digital pictures of my teeth, then Dr Okoniewski designed the required crown in 3D, then printed/carve it out of a CEREC porcelain machine, and installed it the same day. It was important for me to know all costs in advance, and this place does that, so you know what you'll end up paying after all insurance coverage if you decide to do so, definitely a must for this type of services. EDIT ON 3/20/24 After 2 years or more of regular service with Dr. Okoniewski, I continue to be impressed by the excellent service and kindness of all his staff. Definitely the best Dentist in all Detroit metro area. Totally recommend

Fantastic experience: We’ve been going to Dr. Okoniewski for several years. Great Advanced Dental Practice and we highly recommend their services. This was an unplanned visit as I had the #15 crown come off. It had been in place for 2+ years so I was surprised when it came loose. I was able to get in within three hours on the same day to get the crown recemented. The charge was $103, which seems a bit high but I’m glad the crown wasn’t cracked.

I had alot of anxiety about coming for a cleaning after 5 years of not seeing a dentist but a few minutes in and the whole staff made me feel completely comfortable. I just went back in today for a couple fillings and was shocked at how well I handled it all. Dr.O didn't rush me at all, and we had great conversation. Andie was very patient with me and my questions. I didn't feel like I was just a patient on the list for the day, and it was a really different and great experience (even if I did have to get multiple fillings, ugh).

Fantastic experience: Can’t begin to report with a positive experience I had at the dental practice of Doctor Okoniewski-first off I was kindly/warmly greeted (even the lobby door was opened as a courtesy for myself by both Liz, Dr. O‘s wife and Kaite. This does not feel like a dentist office. It feels like an Airbnb / hotel at. One of Robert Redford Sundance resorts in Utah. Appreciate the cleanliness timeliness and the care in all the x-rays and photography performed by Kiana. Laurie, my hygienist and outstanding job with excellent technique cleaning my teeth, really enjoyed her interaction. And Dr. Okoniewski. He’s a very knowledgeable gentleman. He really listen presented his professional opinion and options without any pressure. I would highly recommend this practice and will continue seeking services.

Over the Mother's day holiday, I had a tooth crack, in extreme pain, and running a fever, I called him on his personal phone. He interrupted his family Mother's day lunch, to submit a prescription for me. I've had him for a Dentist now for 6 years, and this is just the latest example of how he cares.
