Advanced Dentistry of Rhode Island - Ryan S Lee DDS

Negative experience: Do not go to this dentist. This is your warning. That’s all. After being a patient, I was not surprised that he had his license revoked in Rhode Island two weeks ago. You can look up the article.

Negative experience: My husband and I brought our daughter to Dr. Lee in December of 2022 for full mouth dental implants and he agreed to give us a discount for the work that he would augment with a grant that his office receives. We initially became concerned after Dr. Lee allowed students in his Plainville office to work on my daughter's mouth for four hours using only local anesthesia. Two of the implants were misplaced at that time and had to be replaced. We expressed our concerns at that time. We requested a documentation of current charges from Dr. Lee's office multiple times and these were never provided. I'm addition, given the pain of the procedure, Dr. Lee agreed via telephone and email to use nitrous oxide during the last implant appointment and failed to do so. My daughter missed an appointment due to having Covid and Dr. Lee's office did not respond to multiple calls and outreach attempts. We chose to leave Dr. Lee's office after multiple negative experiences. Dr. Lee initially agreed verbally to refund 10,000 of the 15,000 we spent if we agreed to sign a non disclosure agreement. He was incommunicado for a long while and we realized he was not going to honor his verbal agreement. We were advised to go to the consumer division of the attorney general's office for assistance with mediation. Eventually, Dr. Lee agreed to refund half of our money in two monthly installments beginning in October of 2024. He has never honored the agreement. The pain and suffering , both physical and mental, that my daughter has experienced as a result of his negligence cannot be measured. My husband and I are senior citizens who are continuing to work out of financial necessity. I wish that I was aware of previous complaints made against his practice prior to engaging with him in good faith. My husband has gone physically to the office and been told by Dr. Lee that " the check is in the mail." Just to be clear, we have never received any of the money he promised to refund. We were informed that it would be an additional 12,000 dollars to remove the failed implants that Dr. Lee placed. He is aware of this added expense to our daughter's treatment. Dr. Lee does not respond to emails , this review, a request from the BBB or other outreach attempts. I am astounded by his unethical behavior and wish that we had never done business with him. I don't understand why it is so difficult for Dr. Lee to do the right thing for his patients and their families. Just wondering why Dr. Lee has not responded to our review. He appears to have responded to other reviews to try to resolve issues? Again, evidence that he believes he can take advantage of his patients with no consequences. Dr. Lee has continued not to honor the agreement he signed with the attorney general's office as of March 2026. We are assuming that Dr. Lee is trying to run out a statute of limitations on his agreement with the attorney general. I don't understand how he can rationalize owing the money for work that cost us even more to be redone as well as allowing his students to place implants wrongly. We are senior citizens with a limited income who chose to help our daughter. Our only hope now is to hire a lawyer. I am deeply disappointed in the lack of ethics demonstrated by Dr. Lee.

Negative experience: Don't come here! They will take your money and ruin your teeth.

Negative experience: Six yrs ago I needed to extract a failed root canal. Dr. Lee was offering a great discount for implants. The extraction/ implant was painful and took roughly 3hrs because he would often overbook and run behind. Being a dental assistant, I followed proper post OP care. After a week, I went back to get my gums restitched since they were flapped open, trapping food. After the area healed, it always felt "off". I didn't know if this was normal, with it being my first implant. Within a year I had a massive cyst on the implant. I treated it with salt water rinses. By the time I went in for my appointment it had disappeared. They gave me antibiotics and sent me off. Four yrs later, it started to move. Dr. Lee did all the tests, only to find the implant had failed. This is when the red flags really started to show. He promised me another cash deal. I signed the contract. He said the implant will not be placed the same day like last time. I was relieved because the area was already traumatized. I called the office before my extraction to ask if I could pay a portion that day and the rest when I actually received my implant. The girl on the phone beat around the bush and answered with "I think that's fine". I went in and the receptionist, Ivy, did not accept that answer, despite what I was previously told. It was expressed that "this is not a charity" and they were doing me a favor. I have ALWAYS paid my bill on time. I felt horrible and had a panic attack. Kristina (DA) was the only one who remained professional and allowed me to leave with some shred of dignity. The extraction of my old dental implant was EXTREMELY painful. I couldn't get numb because the socket shield he left in my mouth was infected with a huge cyst on the root tip. Months after the procedure I would go on to ask several dentists about this technique. They told me it's rarely done since it puts the patient at risk for infection if not done correctly. After canceling and rescheduling me multiple times (per usual), I was finally on my last checkup before I could get my 2nd implant. During that appointment Dr. Lee said I needed PRF, (where they centrifuge a patient's blood and apply the mixture to the surgical site to stimulate bone) because I had notable bone loss. At the front desk, Gloria scheduled the phlebotomist to come out the day of my implant, saying "Dr. Lee must really like you" as this would be done pro bono. In the back of my mind I was like "this is too good to be true". And it was!! I showed up and the phlebotomist was nowhere in sight, shockerr. Dr. Lee said "I didn't have the heart to tell you". I honestly didn't know how to respond. He ended up doing the implant. The whole time I was waiting for him to pack the bone. A feeling I recognized during the initial implant. But I never felt him do it this time, extremely concerning considering he insisted I had bone loss. After that visit I was fully traumatized and wanted someone to review his work. I went to an implant specialist who said there was insufficient bone, therefore 20% chance of failure. I had that same dentist review the first implant done by Dr. Lee, where he expressed I should have received a refund. I considered writing this review months ago but chose to go in and speak with Dr. Lee instead. It ended with him offering me a 2k refund in exchange for my silence. They didn't have any checks that day so Gloria took down my info and promised to mail it out to me. It's been over two months since the agreement was made. I have called, spoken to staff and left voice messages at both offices 6-8 times. They refused to call me with a progress update or mail out the check. They switch your appointment without warning, bounce you chair to chair because they don't have water to rinse your mouth. Oversubscribe you antibiotics, like why was I given 500mg of amoxicillin 3x for 21 days? An audit should be performed because everything from scheduling to paperwork and ultimately the dental work have proven to be a disaster.

Negative experience: I am going to put on a detailed review of my nightmare with Dr Ryan Lee the reviews on here do not even match the names of the people I dealt with. I am without teeth since march. He put caps on that do not cover my teeth six teeth they are a mess. The caps cracked in the back .He told me gums would grow over them not true at all. He did implants which I am told now there is not enought bone there I went through all this pain for nothing he took out teeth on both sides on bottom telling me i would have a denture nobody ordered the denture. His staff lost my impression they told me lab lost it then later he admitted staff lost it very waited weeks and when it came it didn't fit properly and cut up my mouth when he did implants he hit my nerve and I have been suffering since March with numbness in my lips and mouth he has no concern for this. The company that recommended him tells me they are no longer affiliated as well as great hill dental that tells me they have nothing to do with him i contacted him recently for my scans to try to get teeth elsewhere he never answered me I have given him 10 thousand dollars and those scans belong to me.The people in his office are in competant none of the names here are people who worked on me. Dr Lee cemented permanent caps on bottom teeth knowing they didnt cover my teeth and pockets of food get stuck in there he also grinded my top. good tooth without telling me to make his horrible caps fit Iam now stuck with a thin top tooth that food gets stuck too. He did this without asking or telling me. I have been researching and i am hoping the people who referred me to this practice will help me. This has been a horrible nightmare for me and Iwould strongly advise to never go to this dentist. He will tell you what you want to hear. How can a dentist put on caps that do not cover your teeth. My mouth is still numb in with no relieve in sight. There is something up with this doctor. The people in the office were negligent and rough he agreed but did nothing about it. All I have been through and it all no good... caps are no good bone graph on one side didn't take at all and the side that didnt need graphs is also a problem the pain and suffering i went through the gum boils all a waste none of it was good and now I have numbness and dr Lee. thinks he is the best at this he is not! I would like to give 0 stars UPDATE It took me 2 years to get my medical records from Dr Ryan Lee The dental board had to help me finally get them . I want to be clear I HAVE PERMANENT NUMBNESS in my LIP And Chin From his surgery I live with every single day . He has done nothing to help me with this . He cares nothing about his patients he doesn’t know what he is doing the care I received was negligent and I am currently working with the dental board and legal avenues to stop him from doing this to anyone else . It is very difficult to do all of this . Please stay away from this narcissistic dentist he is a professional liar.

Fantastic experience: I can not thank Dr. Lee, Gloria, and the rest of the incredible team at Advanced Dentistry of RI enough! I had been putting off a necessary procedure because I was nervous about the recovery. Dr. Lee eased my fears by explaining every step of the process and letting me know alternative steps if any stage of the process failed. Everything worked out beautifully, and thanks to his impeccable expertise and the amazing staff, I now have a smile that I never thought I would have! This has been a lifelong journey for me, but thanks to Dr. Lee and team I can finally smile with confidence. Best decision I ever made! Update: I had an appointment to follow up on my previous procedure from a few months back. Dr. Lee wasn’t at this location today, but I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Patel who was just as wonderful and took his time to make sure everything was perfect. As always, Gloria made sure to double check everything and Brandon was there every step of the way to help out and share a laugh. I don’t have the words to say how truly grateful I am to this team and this practice for what they’ve done for me. Thank you all again for giving me my smile back!

Fantastic experience: Dr Lee and his staff make everything easy for you and I will be back to update you on my upper and lower implants starting next month so I will keep you updated on the progress we will be making with Dr Lee and staff talk soon chow for now and today 6/28 was called in for impressions of my upper and lower gums so they can start to make my new teeth it is very exciting and I can't wait for the day to have the implants so I can eat apples peaches and corn on the cob that day is coming very soon and I will enjoy it for sure these people here are super duper A number one so far and just can't say much more than that well keep you posted on further developments so it was 7/30 and having the last of the lower implants being installed it was a little painful but through it all I knew they were knowable and they know their stuff so wait a few weeks let them implants heal and then start the upper implants once again Dr Lee staff kept me updated on what was going to happen next so after the next move I will have more to share on my great adventures getting implants update you soon

Negative experience: I was a patient of Dr. Lee and want to share my experience with you. Late 2023 I had my annual exam at which time the Dr. Lee and I discussed a plan for my needed dental work. I was so impressed with Doctor Lee and his attention to my needs. The plan consisted of: 1 implant procedure in 2023 and 2 inplants in early 2024. As of today, I have not received a follow up call from the office nore did I receive call backs for the 3 voice messages I left. I'm increadly disapointed and I'm having a hard time understanding where the issue lies. I'm aiming toward the administrative staff due to what I observed while I was there. All I could think was that Dr. Lee would soon lose his business due to the negative vibes I received while dealing with the front desk staff. Not sure but needed to share.

Knowing that dental surgery can be complicated for me, Dr. Lee took time to fully explain the risks of treatment and how he would control and manage them. Nothing was rushed. He was the only one that gave me the confidence to go ahead with the procedure. His explanation of the procedure, Along with his bed side manner and cost was fantastic. Negative experience: Good experience very knowledgeable about having my teeth cleaned a first time patient. They didn't know my identity when the technician came in the room the first two times. And the second time I went there to have a tooth check that was cracked, they took a couple of x-rays showed it to me and said it's only a surface crack nothing to worry about it's from grinding. They couldn't wait to push me out the door. Not even an appointment reminder or text saying I had an appointment. I felt I was treated like cattle. I'm going to get a second opinion we only have one set of teeth

Negative experience: Unfortunately very disappointing several months of trying to reach dentistry by phone, with no answer. And I am aware they got flooded. Thats all fine, but the issue with the service was way before that. Also, asked for refunding my money for servise that they never provided. Again no answer. Absolutely no follow up as they are aware I have an open root canal not finished and was in pain. Ridiculous.. Customer service people are all nice there, unfortunately there is a lot of negligence

Dr. Lee has bent over backwards to help me, he fixed all my problems with poor fitment and went out of his own pocket to do so. Least we forget Gloria, shes fantastic. Great job. Thanks.

Negative experience: EDIT: Here over a month later where I still have not been reached out to or had my calls returned. Been calling for the last two weeks to schedule an appointment, leaving a message but no calls back. Today I reached someone who answered the phone, they explained to me they are temporarily at another office, and I mentioned I need a cleaning and follow up work. I was then placed on hold (without notice) and left on hold for 8 minutes before I hung up. I tried to call back two more times but no one answered the phones. I understand the landscape of the current working enviornment but as a business and for me as a customer looking for medical treatment this is unacceptable. Do not feel cared for or vauled here.

Negative experience: All the years we've been coming to this place this is the first time ever having a bad experience and my husband and I are both searching for another dentistry. The hygienist was very unprofessional and rough. I don't think she did as good a job as the hygienist we always have. One other thing we were called the night before with a very rude reminder. Fantastic experience: Advanced.Dentisty did a root canal and. Entered teeth by drilling hole in center 4 teeth And entering to do repairs I believe. I had Anesthesia since I don't remember much but I now have 4 of my back teeth done and just minor pain from tooth that had root canal that should go away soon I hope

Fantastic experience: Absolute best staff! Each and every one of them is personable, nice, professional and very knowledgeable! Dr. Lee has given me so much of my confidence back and so very honest and just the best dentist out there! I hadn't been to the dentist in years due to straight anxiety so my teeth were awful and they just make you feel so comfortable and relaxed all while doing amazing work on your teeth!

Fantastic experience: I have always hated and feared visits to the dentist until I visited and met with Dr Lee. I needed several implants to correct some problems and Dr Lee explained everything in detail and put all my fears to rest. Not only is he very personable and understanding, he is an absolute expert in dentistry. I had major work done over a period of several months and he was with me all the way and never had a problem with the work he performed. In my opinion there is no one better than Dr. Lee and I will never go to anyone else. He’s the best.

Fantastic experience: After phoning several offices of oral surgeons requesting an appointment and never hearing back from them, I received a phone call from Dr. Lee on a Friday and he set up an appointment for the following Monday! He also explained the cost of the procedure during that call. The staff and technicians and Dr. Lee were all helpful, courteous and friendly, making me feel at ease during the visit. They also promptly made my next appointment for Thursday of the same week.

Fantastic experience: I was very pleased with the care I received in the first stages of my treatment it was painless quick and very friendly service I'm looking forward to continuing my treatment there I had a few visits with doctor Lee now and I have several implants put in. Dr Lee and his staff are very professional. I had almost no pain, tthe discomfort was minimal. I was always afraid of dentist, but no anymore. I'm getting very excited and can't wait until I can smile.

Negative experience: 2/5/2022: An update 2 years later... I am ashamed to have written this review below 2 years ago after only 1 or 2 very misleading initial appointments. I would give negative stars & 50 reg flags if I could. They don't use Invisalign, they use another (cheaper, insufficient) provider called Orthosnap. In short, due to the extreme negligence for my case to not being actively monitored by an engaged DENTIST, after 2 years, my teeth are still not straight. Every single part of this experience has been an absolute nightmare - from administration to the billing to the lack of results after 2 years of being a fully understanding and compliant patient. I can't speak to his implant or other services, and I have heard he does a lot of good for the community, but I will NEVER forgive myself for recommending this place for teeth straightening services. Please save yourself the extreme stress and anxiety and find another, more qualified provider. The reg flags are everywhere. Don't ignore them like I did. A flexible, welcoming dentistry office! So happy to have found Dr. Lee and his staff. They are totally keeping with the times in terms of communication (texting, emails) & pricing plans. I signed up for Invisalign treatment today. I couldn’t be more excited to get started.

Fantastic experience: This is a great dental office, the staff and the work they do is on another level. I’ve been to many dentist over the past 10-20 years and what this office has done for me is everything you would want and expect.

Fantastic experience: I went in 2 weeks ago for an evaluation. I had 2 deteriorated 2 under a bridge needing to be removed and implants inserted. I also had 2 other teeth needing implants. I am very dental phobic from an Endodontist nearly killing me with a very bad experience. This office is professional, patient, clean, and very reassuring. Today was the 1st appt. I was very nervous as both teeth were below the gun line. Dr Lee was so patient and took his time getting them out. Next he started one of the implants and it’s all prepped and ready to go. I thought I was going to need sedation but Dr Leewas a champ and no problems!

Negative experience: I am standing by this one star review (only because you cannot give a ZERO)..... Dr Lee DID refund the cost if the service i never received but here I am 4 1/2 weeks after getting a drill & fill.... The filling fell out tonight!!! Look elsewhere for dental services...

Fantastic experience: Danielle, the hygienist, is an efficient, gentle, and caring professional. She is pleasant, informative and makes the experience of a cleaning, quite tolerable! Danielle balances, cleaning and conversation, which is hard to do when one person is not able to respond! Excellent.

Positive experience: First they take 19 xrays including a full mouth. Then a week later they needed two more xrays for an implant evaluation. Had a tooth repaired that day. Then went in a week later to repair the tooth becoz it chipped but they wouldn't fix it becoz they wanted more xrays and I refused. besides all the xrays, Dr. Lee contacted me on a matter and helped me with a implant procedure that he went out of the way for. I don't know if the Nigerian Dr. that wouldn't fix my tooth is still there. But I'd give her a bad review.

Fantastic experience: I can't express how overjoyed I was to find Advanced Dentistry of RI. I've been in the medical field for over 38 yrs and know when staff treats a patient with compassion; but even the Dr. Dr. Lee was awesome and when I tell you it was my turn and time I was in good hands. I had been with the same Dentist for over 40 yrs but he retired and I wasn't sure how to find a new. I thought I was going shopping around but on my 1st try I found a blessing; a place were everyone treated me with a smile e.g. receptionists medical assistants and Dr Lee made me feel important; they spoke with true concerns asking me more than once if I was having any questions or concerns even though they'd explain everything as to facts and options. I walked in with real anxiety and walked out crying for JOY because I've found a new Dental Family who's REAL genuine though and patient. I'm not just a number! I'm soo excited to be here for ALL of MY DENTAL NEEDS at ONE STOP WITH A SMILE FROM THEIR HEARTS! I felt that Dr Lee and his total staff are sincerely glad to come to work everyday to help people! I have no anxieties for my new journey in maintaining my future dental care because I truely feel Advanced Dentistry of RI will take care of me!!

Fantastic experience: Doctor Bodie is the Best Dentist I have ever had. He has compassion and listen to his patients. I have had a lot of bad experiences with Dentists but when I went to Dr. Bodie the way he treated me made my experience great. Please go and get your teeth fixed.

Fantastic experience: I had an issue with one of teeth. My dentist couldn’t fit me on so , I called Advanced dentistry (recommended by my daughter) and they took me in just 3 days, had Exam and x-Ray.. talked with dentist and set up a plan to correct my issue. They have discount options available. It was clean, pleasant, I felt safe and comfortable. I will be seeing them again soon I went back today for a cleaning and full mouth c-rays, the hygienist was fabulous , the dentist came on and discussed the x-Ray finding.. they are so thorough. I really loved my dentist of 25 years.. but I have to honest.. advanced dentistry is my new place., for all the right reasons. THANK YOU ALL!! You couldn’t possibly be better.. Seriously!!! Went back again, the dentist came in with several options on how and when I could do the needed work done, in an an order of time, and offered as I said multiple options to be cost saving. Very very nice place!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
