Steven H. Brenman DMD

Negative experience: I originally came here when Brenman was still around, I always had a pleasant time when getting work done, the dentists always took good care of me and we'd catch up on things whenever I came in for an appointment. Randomly one day when calling about making another appointment they said that Brenman is no longer in office and they don't cover our insurance anymore, I had to find a new dentist that I now appreciate since they give me appointments within days whereas Brenman's office it took a month or two just to come in. But in this whole process my crown became loose and I couldn't go back to Brenman for them to work on the tooth that has now FALLEN out of my mouth and now I need $3,000 just for this new dentist to redo the tooth because Brenman's office failed to help their patient, if they were able to take me in this all could of been resolved. I would've recommended this place before the whole situation happened but knowing that theres other dentists that can do my teeth way faster and in a few days in between visits, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Negative experience: I came to Steven Brenman’s office 2 years ago, with Steven Brenman as my main doctor and another man specializing in root canals. I was in need of refixing some of my teeth, getting root canals, crowns, etc. I have never seen such way of doing things done. I was put a flat crown combined for two of my teeth, which looked like I just had gum stuck in my back teeth. They had to shave down my own, natural upper teeth for these crowns to fit. Along with that the root canal was not properly done. I had to go out of state and pay out of pocket to refix any work that I had done in this office. I am surprised by the good reviews, as they were the reason I initially went there.

Negative experience: NO LONGER BRENMANS PRACTICE! Went in for an appointment and was not notified of this change. The new dentist said i needed a lot of work, which was very expensive and after getting a second opinion was completely unnecessary. I have consistently gone here for years every 6 months. I went 6 months ago and Brenman said I had nothing wrong. I WILL MISS BRENMAN HE WAS AMAZING… Also the receptionists are incredibly rude and have had multiple scheduling issues. I excused this before because i loved Brenman but OMG am I happy to never talk to those women again.

Negative experience: Very good dentist but the office workers suck. He can't do extractions and they could careless about your pain..oh well they lost my business. How this man sold the practice and left me with a hole in my tooth. The office said unfortunately I have to find a new dentist. They suck I tell ya

Fantastic experience: Dr. Brenman and his staff are the best I ever had! Everyone there is lovely to work with, considerate, caring, and kind! They also have lovely receptionists! I was very happy with everyone and the work they did for me!

Fantastic experience: Excellent dental care clean and professional

Negative experience: Service at the actual office is good, not too long of a wait time. However it’s almost impossible to get ahold of them on the phone. Earlier this year I kept getting forwarded to voicemail every time I tried to make an appointment, and just now I’ve been left on hold for 25 min after asking to make an appointment.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful is an understatement. I had a rough few days over a holiday break waiting for dental offices to reopen leading up to my visit. They took me right away and treated me as if I was a family member. The dentist told me immediately “I care” this isn’t common but so comforting. Everyone I encountered was kind and caring. They don’t have you waiting endlessly yet you also don’t feel your visit is rushed. Going to the dentist isn’t a fun event, but this is as good as it gets. I’ve found my dentist and I’m so relieved. Amazing Dentists and Staff.

Fantastic experience: I’ve never gone to another dentist in my whole life. Dr. Brenman has been my dentist since I’ve had teeth (same for my brother lol). He’s taken such great care of my family and me. I can’t imagine going anywhere else. I’ve even traveled from other boroughs when I was living outside of Staten Island for my dental appointments. He is truly an amazing dentist and has taken care of my teeth in ways I cannot express. Every time someone compliments me on my teeth, I recommend the best man in the 5 boroughs. Negative experience: For regular check-ins this dentist is great. However, I got a crown at this location and it’s been a nightmare ever since. The dentist shaved down my real tooth at the top of my mouth for the oversized crown to be able to fit at the bottom. There is always something getting stuck in that spot now. I also can’t floss there because the floss gets stuck under the crown. it’s just gross all around. Our teeth are designed a specific way for specific reasons. I am so disappointed that I’m dealing with this at the hands of a dentist!

Fantastic experience: Dr.Steven Brennan help me gain my confidence back,when I first went to see him my tooth was really bad due to lack on iron etc and my daughter was graduating from the army I was so stress that I would have to take pics with my tooth looking how it did so I wasn’t planning on smiling but him and his team promise that I would have a great smile on that day and I did.thank u guys appreciate it and thanks for my smile again

Negative experience: My all life WORST experience I ever had in a dental office. Dr Brenman warned me he has only 15 min because he is going to lunch to make my mind quickly if I decide to my tooth to be pulled out or not. In rush he did not wait until anesthesia start working. In pain and me almost screaming he did not stop and finished, left in rush to his lunch leaving me with a new as I found out attendant. My mouth FULL of blood . My suppose to be gone tooth kept hurting thru the whole week. I went to my regular dentist and found out he pulled only half of my tooth, the other half was visible sticking out. I went thru two unnecessary surgical procedure to remove remaining remnants of tooth. Almost two weeks of suffering and spending a lot of money dr Brenman did not even offer me any apology. I have had some dental surgical procedures before and know extend of what is normal pain. WORST ever experience in my in my 75 years of age.

My Nephew still goes to Brenman and as he said nobody does his teeth like he does…. Right now I’m so disgusted with the care of my teeth from neglect out here In Brooklyn..

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience. I had a filling done on a tooth that had already undergone a root canal, yet the dentist still administered an anesthetic. He seemed to be in a rush, finishing quickly and leaving immediately without asking if I had any other concerns or questions. When the anesthetic wore off at home, I realized that the filling wasn’t polished properly and required adjustments, both occlusally and interproximally, as food was getting stuck. I called the office the next day but received no response, even after leaving a voicemail. I called again the following day and was finally able to schedule a quick five-minute appointment for the next morning. When I arrived, the receptionist was indifferent and showed no concern for my situation. She informed me that I would have to wait, as the dentist was fully booked, I was just being squeezed in and furthermore the dentist and assistants were not yet in according to her. Despite this, I could hear staff laughing in the back while I waited, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Fantastic experience: DMD Brennan is the best dentist been going there for decades and my children are all adults now but they use to go to him too. He is such a teddy bear. Karen the receptionist in the front desk been with him for many years and she is always pleasant and accommodating on the phone but in person she is an angel. Negative experience: I had a tooth replaced. my front tooth. When it was placed in my mouth it was huge and it didn't match my other tooth size. I was told to come back and they will fix it so i made another appointment but their way of fixing it was to charge me 700 to pull my good tooth so they can make it look the same as the one they made. Messed up my smile entirely. I will never go back. Find a better dentist!!!!!

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff with an authentic Staten Island feel to them. Fixed up my front teeth which im sure will add a little more confidence to my smile. Receptionist, xray tech, Lisa, Mike were all very nice, watch out for Lisa though shes a sweet talker. ahaha just kidding great people. a little pricier than my usual shady russian dentist, these be the hoops you have to jump through when you have no insurance, but the work here more than lives up to the very affordable price.

Dr. Brenman has never made my appointments be anything but positive and stress-free, and all the hygienists are wonderful. Karen in the front of the office is always a pleasure to deal with as well. I'm writing today because I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Mike and Katie. I previously had a front tooth which had been knocked back 15 or so years ago. This really impacted my smile in pictures (massive shadow), so of course I rarely smiled for any. After all this time, I found out I was eligible to have it corrected with veneers. Upon completion, I was handed a mirror and instantly welled up with tears of joy!!! The results far exceeded my expectations. I walked out of the office feeling so proud, I literally could not stop smiling. Thank you!!!

Positive experience: Dr. Brenman has consistently provided me with exceptional care and professionalism. I initially required extensive dental work, and he has been instrumental in addressing my needs effectively. If it were possible, I would happily give him six stars for his outstanding service. However, I feel compelled to share an update regarding a negative experience I had with an Eastern European dental hygienist at the practice. This particular individual demonstrated rudeness by discussing my dental issues in the presence of other patients, which made me uncomfortable. While the dentists themselves were competent and proficient, the receptionists and certain dental hygienists lacked professionalism and provided misleading information. In fact, I was incorrectly informed that I was not approved for a specific procedure, despite having concrete evidence of my approval. My hope is that the clinic takes steps to improve their staff selection process, as this incident has influenced my decision to seek dental care elsewhere. I genuinely wanted to give this place a chance, but unfortunately, their staff's behavior resulted in a missed opportunity. I believe that with a more reliable and courteous team, this practice has the potential to provide exceptional service.

Positive experience: I would’ve given more stars because we have come here for years and dr. Brenman and his staff have always been great with me and my children but there is one dental hygienist who is so unnecessarily rude and obnoxious that I had to personally tell them twice to write in our charts, we are Not to see her. Short, Older woman with colored blonde hair. If it weren’t for the rest of staff I would’ve left a long time ago. She’s horrible personality!!

Negative experience: This review is for the office and reception staff, not the dentist as I didn’t even have a chance to see him! Horrible customer service! They tell you one thing then tell you something completely the opposite! Meanwhile making you run around in circles and make unnecessary calls to the insurance company, which they should themselves, and make you wait needlessly to never get the treatment you need. Do not recommend!

Fantastic experience: Ide like to share a comment about Dr. Brennan. i came to him with a cracked cap and an infection. He and his staff were terrific. They cleaned up the mess in my mouth put in a new bridge with a perfect bite and a great color match. This was done quickly professional and painlessly. Positive experience: The people are nice but there are some issues. The receptionist asked me for my new coverage card, but I had already been there at least once, under the new card. I had previously given all that information. She admitted they were still trying to access my old insurance. 5 minutes later she said she found all my new info. In regards to the cleaning and check up I was there for, they only took one xray on my right side and the cleaning was sub par. The funny thing is the dark, hard stains on the inside, from coffee and smoking (stopped last month) were taken care of. When I got home, I noticed the smaller, lighter stains that appear on top of my bottom row of teeth were still there. There are the same stains they easily removed on my last visit. Also, if they can figure out a way to stop giving patients a shower from the neck down when they are doing the cleaning it would be great. Each time I have been there I was upset that I forgot a towel to place around me. No other dentist staff ever soaked me when cleaning teeth.

Fantastic experience: This office was so helpful. I called foran emergency appointment because I cracked my tooth and I couldn't see my regular dentist. I was able to get an appointment within two days. Upon arrival I was greeted by a very courteous receptionist, I went in and I met with Dr Andrew and Katee.
