Positive experience: Overall a good experience

Fantastic experience: Dr. Morales and Jessica are absolutely phenomenal. I have major anxiety when it comes to dental work, and the dentist chair is usually a huge trigger for me. They have both been incredibly patient, understanding, and informative every step of the way. They take the time to explain what they're doing, answer my questions, and never make me feel rushed or embarrassed about being anxious. That alone has made such a difference for me. I genuinely feel like I'm in good hands when I'm there, which is something I never thought I'd say about going to the dentist. If you're someone who has dental anxiety, I can't recommend Dr. Morales and Jessica enough. I'm still in the middle of the process, but for the first time, I'm actually excited about where it's headed. I've spent so many years feeling embarrassed by my smile, and I can't wait to finally see the finished result and feel confident showing it. ❤️

Negative experience: They did not address my needs she printed out a paper tell me this is what your insurance covers i told them before about my on going issue I needed just a tooth pulled out and x ray. How can u print out a sheet without exsam me first? An d then said 175 is due right now like really I have insurance and my insurance said nothing is due. And I told them I'll just let the tooth rot as is right now and let it go to my brain I slammed the door because they all did not address my concerns never again will I go back here never will I refure these people.

Negative experience: Came for my appointment at 2.00 pm the receptionist said the dentist is at lunch. ??? How do you make appointment with customer who had to take time off from work come to Coast Dental from 10 miles away wait for 15 minutes to hear The Doc is at lunch. Unacceptable business practice Not even worth 4.2 stars in reviews. Stay away from this office.

Fantastic experience: Six years ago I wrote a review about the dental hygienist there and she’s no longer at Coast dental however, the new person that they have or whoever did the impressions on my flipper was great not only is she professional, but she’s hilarious as hell just down to earth great people person that’s doing the job that she was meant to do. The doctor is young and great and the receptionist was super nice. Coast dental is a great dentist office!

Positive experience: If you can get past the customer service when calling in and the paperwork issues (billing old insurance company when already given the new info) it’s a great office. Dr. Akers and my Hygienist are both very experienced ladies and top notch. Again, I can’t speak to the office personnel or the folks who answer their phones, if they could make it more local it would be much appreciated (instead of a service from somewhere else). Messages about insurance don’t seem to be answered or rather conveyed to the local office. I had seen another Dentist (who is no longer there) last year and this one (Dr. Akers) is SO MUCH BETTER!

Fantastic experience: I'm glad I came in today to start the process of rehabilitating my teeth. My hygienist, Heather, was wonderful. Fantastic experience: Heather did my cleaning as well as go over my new periodontal trays to wear daily to cut plaque and prevent disease. Painless, fast and dentist went over her concerns we will address next visit.

Fantastic experience: The people in this office make me feel relaxed.That's great, they do good work too

Negative experience: Billing lady is rude and disrespectful. I got a bill that I had to pay them for a visit I had when I was told in the visit that my insurance had covered it and I paid the rest of what was not covered. She said they “assume” that’s what your insurance will pay but that’s not 100% what could happen. Then you need to tell your customers it’s an assumption because if it’s an assumption I would go to a different office that does not “assume” things.

Negative experience: Came here about a year and a half ago for a tooth extraction. I was very nervous and when I heard my tooth crack I jumped slightly. The dr slapped me across the face lightly but none the less slapped me. Nurse Nicki was there and was very kind but this Dr needs to be fired and I keep getting bills from them for this service even though I paid it off years ago. I’d never give them another penny after being slapped by a dentist. Still upset about it to this day. Do not come here!!! Especially if you are nervous around dentists because this place is shady and they hit people

Negative experience: Totally unprofessional. Changed appointment time 4 separate times last minute, will try to recommend unnecessary care, and will make it purposefully complicated to understand pricing structure to upsell you. Absolutely avoid.

Positive experience: Office refused to clean my teeth without me paying out of pocket for add on treatment even though I never physically was seen by a Dentist. Canceled appt.

Negative experience: Stay away from this place. They've been demanding a payment I already made for a year. I've been to the office five times to get the problem resolved, and there is no admin person to help. I sent an email to the person in charge, but she hasn't responded either.

Fantastic experience: I just switched to Coast Dental Beneva and couldn’t be happier! Dr. Perez was absolutely fantastic—warm, friendly, and she really took the time to listen to all of my concerns. She’s helping me put a dental work plan in place that truly feels tailored to my needs. Heather, the dental hygienist, was just as wonderful—so friendly, kind, and personable. I was seen right at my appointment time, and the office itself was very clean and welcoming. Absolute professionalism from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Heather, the hygienist did a thorough excellent job. It was my first time meeting tge Dentist, Dr. Perez, and she was very professional describing everything I needed for a treatment plan. All of the workers in that office were kind and considerate.

Negative experience: Good experience with the dental hygienist. I have signed release forms to have my X-rays emailed to me before I book my next appointment to fix a cavity, but I have not yet received my email. So my rating will depend on how quick office staff responds.

Fantastic experience: Very good first appointment with Heather. Personable, concerned with my comfort, thorough. Nina very friendly as well. Nice people!!

Negative experience: Would leave less than one star if possible. Showed up to an empty office for an appointment that was more than an hour after the office should have opened. Called the phone number got directed to the corporate line where it ended up hanging up on me before transferring my call.

Fantastic experience: Good care provided. Very informative and caring. Answered any questions or concerns I had with no issue.

Negative experience: I agree with other reviewers DO NOT USE COASTAL DENTAL. Rather than giving you a long horror story I will summarize: 1. Failure to keep or provide patient records when requested. 2. The patient quality insurance department does NOT exist. They will lie and give you a number, but it brings you to the schedulers in the Phillippines. 3. Canceling and rescheduling and changing the location of appointments at the last minute. 4. Poor customer service - dental hygienists with very poor communication skills. 5. Wasting patients' time by needlessly chatting (i am talking for over one hour) and attempting to upsell. 6. Misleading patients about the presence of the dentist (only to have them call in by phone during the appointment) 7. Unresponsive and difficult customer service -- they always send you to a call center in the Philippines. 8. Multiple marketing emails and text messages per day - clogging my inbox despite that I can't actually reach the office. 9. Unresponsive to emails or records request. In person, they promise to send it in "48 hours", then "5 minutes" but never send it. 10. Unexpected and unauthorized charges. 11. Going in for a scheduled cleaning, only to have them say "can we clean one half of your mouth today and the other half in a second appointment?"

Negative experience: If I could leave 0 stars I would. The absolute worst customer service. No one ever picks up the phone, even called the corporate number and they tried to call the local office and still no one picked up. Left several voicemails and received no returned calls. I ended up stopping in the office one day and there was not one patient in the waiting room. I was told by the manager my issue would be resolved that day. It’s the next week and it still hasn’t been. Tried calling to follow up and guess what, still no answer!!! What kind of business is this? Totally unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: The girl at the front desk was very friendly and the wait was short. Dr. Omar Acanda is very professional and an excellent human being. He performed all the appropriate procedures, explained everything to me and gave me an excellent, detailed dental cleaning. I was happy with the result. Thanks to the entire team.

Negative experience: Horrible Experience at Coast Dental I recently visited Coast Dental for an insurance-covered exam and cleaning. To my astonishment, there was no dentist on site. My appointment consisted of a virtual consultation with a dentist on a screen. The hygienist then refused to clean my teeth unless I agreed to pay out-of-pocket for gum therapy. I was shocked and appalled by this unprofessional and unethical behavior. To make matters worse, I visited another dental practice shortly after and was informed that I do not have the gum disease Coast Dental claimed I had. This entire experience was a complete waste of time and a clear attempt to scam patients. I strongly advise anyone considering Coast Dental to look elsewhere for their dental care.

Fantastic experience: Coast dental was great. My boys never seen a dentist before. So nice and caring. They work with you. They let parents go back with there child. They explain everything before they do it. Love the staff.

Positive experience: The appointment was for my mother . The dentist and hygienist were nice and knowledgeable. However my mother needed a certain type of procedure and we were told that there was not enough help at the particular time of the appointment to do the procedure. Coast dental did not have an assistant needed to help with the dental procedure . Otherwise everything was ok but short staffed and dental work could not be performed

Fantastic experience: I had my 1st. Appointment with Coast Dental Beneva office today. I was very happy with how it went everyone was very pleasant and took the time to explain everything to me. I was nervous about going but came away reassured that I will be taken care of by professionals who will take the time I need for a good result. 4/15/24: I have now had several appointments with Christine at Coast Dental. She is a great dentist. I was able to have all my remaining top teeth pulled by her as well as a bottom tooth pulled and dentures made. Was afraid of injections but was made to feel comfortable and calm throughout this process. I would recommend this office on Clark rd. To anyone, especially if they have a phobia about dental process.

Fantastic experience: Care was stellar, i was in such good hands. My treatment plan and my copay were thoroughly reviewed. No surprises. Minimal discomfort. Omar is fabulous.

Negative experience: This is one of those dental offices where you have to make 2 separate appointments to have your teeth cleaned. I wish they told me this in advance. On the 1st day, they took xrays and I don't know what assessment they made but it took almost 2 hours of my time (not to mention they texted me an hour before my appointment saying my appointment is delayed one hour!). I was then "seen" by a tele health dentist. They focused more on future treatments for me rather than cleaning my teeth first...and by the way, I had to sign a refusal for oral cancer screening at the end of the visit (yes, I felt cornered). I was beyond disappointed to know at the end of my appointment that I had to make another appointment for the cleaning!!! Meantime they already charged my insurance $179 or so (still without the cleaning). The dental hygienist was nice, but it seems that he was all alone in the clinic that day. Never again will I go to that office.

Positive experience: They were all very nice, professional and accommodated me after I switched from the terrible high pressure deceptive experience I had had at the Sarasota crossing fruitville location! I recommend the beneva location and heed a warning to stay away from fruitville one! They have 1 1/2 stars for good reason! They should all be flipping burgers not providing dental services to anyone! Beneva is much much better!!!! IMHO

Fantastic experience: I went in to Coast Dental because they’re the ones who put my last dentures in and they were perfect. I found out that there’s a metal screw in my upper gums but the great dentist at Coast said not to worry because they can still make my dentures fit so I give Coast ten stars.Thank you Coast Dental !!! Once again the staff at Coast Dental was courteous and professional.My dentures were a little big so they put some more adhesive in the upper and lower,I bit down until it dried and next time I go there my dentures will be the finished product,thank you Coast Dental… Well I finally got the finished product and they look great. I’ve got to get used to it because it’s the first time since 06/2019 that I finally got dentures, thank you Coast Dental

Negative experience: Horrible experience! The staff was hateful to each other openly and loudly. Tried to push services and I should have walked out. Too bad I didn’t. They are trying to hill me for service I paid for and my insurance paid for and wont do their own leg work or audit to verify payment. Coast dental bad bookkeeping is not my problem and they cant make a simple phone call to an insurance company? The are harassing and wont answer phone calls or return messages.

Negative experience: I told them I had a referral for a root canal so they made me an appointment, then at the appointment I spent 2 hrs with my 4 year old there because they took 3 people that had appointments after me before me, THEN they told me what I already know (I had a root canal) but they don't do that there, THEN they wrote me the wrong referral to the endontist. They just care about getting that ins. Money .

Fantastic experience: I called for am emergency appointment the day before a hurricane. I have an infected tooth. They got me in within 40 minutes. Very friendly, explained everything that was going on. Gave me options and referrals. After my infection goes away I will be back for my future services... Thank You Coast Dental!!

Fantastic experience: I was thrilled with how well they treated me. It was my first visit to the dentist in quite a while. Quite frankly I wasn’t sure what to expect but everyone walked me through the process and left me with my dignity intact. They took the time to explain everything while answering all of my questions. I can’t say enough about how good my experience was with this visit.

Positive experience: Great cleaning! Great hygienist! Loooong wait. We waited 45mins after our appointment time plus we were 15 mins early. They were very behind.

Fantastic experience: Omar is the best, most gentle and most hilarious dentist you could ever hope to meet. He did an amazing job on my teeth and he is a wonderful person! I can’t wait to go back because of him and I never felt that way about going to the dentist before!

Negative experience: Had to visit the office due to a crown coming loose. That procedure went okay, other than the staff constantly looking for tools to complete the repairs. Embarrassing watching them fumble for tools. So disorganized, HOWEVER, I scheduled a follow up cleaning the next week. Boy, that a tragic mistake. Set my appt for 3:30pm (so difficult for me to get time off to visit them, but they were down the street and in network, so scheduled). Walk in at 3;30pm (greeted by the sweetest receptionist) and then sat in the waiting room and twenty minutes after my appt time, ushered back into the x-ray room. Should have walked out at that point, as the radiologist tech seemed like this was her first day. Actually messed up some of my x-rays, causing additional radiation to be shot into my head because she messed up. She also kept trying to push teeth whitening with trays or bleaching. Of course, at a substantial cost. Declined, next. Finally got into the chair and the dentist came out to do a comprehensive exam on me. Of course, found problems that he had solutions for with a "treatment plan", which basically is paperwork with prices on them. Told him to hold off for now as I just needed to absorb the prices of the crown for last week. Next came Oscar, the hygienist. Told him I was there for a cleaning. Pokes and prods in my mouth, then disappears and comes back with a sheet of paper, again, for my "treatment plan". AT $750!!. Dude, I'm here for my cleaning, which should be paid by my insurance. "Well, I don't know how much your insurance will pay for this". I feel you probably should know how much my insurance is paying towards this. You asked me for my dental insurance cars at the intake. Why don't you know??? He also kept referring to the fact is was after 5:00pm and I was lucky he was still there? Ended up removing my bib and walking out. What a complete insult to me and a complete waste of two hours of my time. Office is in a mini-mall next to a Harbor Freight and looks like it hasn't had any type of remodel in the last 10 years. Ceiling tiles loose and coming apart. Smell of desperation throughout the office. Avoid this office like the Black Plague or the Spanish Flu. I get a sense of, "Let's see what we can soak this client for". Treatment Plan equals "upsells"

Fantastic experience: My hygienist Omar was wonderful. Exceptionally gentle. Always kind, friendly, and an excellent dentist. Thank you for always going above and beyond for your patients. Your eagerness to educate your patients is admirable. My family appreciate you today and every day!

Fantastic experience: Most complete and thorough dental exam with Dr. Tobaly, I have ever experienced. Although young (I'm 75), he definitely exhibits his knowledge and more importantly his concern for my dental treatment. I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: Last Friday I went to see my dentist for the first time at Coast Dental in Clark Rd Sarasota, and since my English is very limited, I asked my friend to come with me to help me translate. To my surprise, the doctor and all the office staff were very warm and friendly to the patient and communicated with the patient with a smile always, which made me feel relaxed and free of tension. More importantly, they all worked very seriously, carefully and professionally, even taking X photos of each tooth, they were very patient and careful. The doctor and all the staff cooperate very well together. We feel that they are high level doctors and teams. Thanks to them for treating my teeth. We will recommend them to our friends.

Fantastic experience: Everyone here has a welcoming personality. Dr. Canon was amazing. I love Omar, he was so detailed and informative when it came to questions I was asking. Negative experience: Went for a cleaning the staff spent almost 2 hours doing nothing but trying to charge me $ 1,000s, there was not even a dentist on site he talked to me over video chat! since I would not pay they did not even do the cleaning my insurance covers, this place sucks! I would never recommend anyone going here! Check the BBB complaints before you step foot in this place.

Negative experience: Scam Alert on this office. All they do is try to upcharge you and add extra fees to their services. Dentist wasn’t even on site, she did a zoom with me. Absolute rip off. Do Not Go Here. Call any other dentist. This place is ripping people off.

Fantastic experience: I wish I could give more stars, today we had an appointment for me and my 10yo son, Omar was beyond amaizing very kind and explained everything step by step. I feel so much better, and our teeth looks great Carolina was really nice and helpful. Since you get in you feel welcomed from the front desk to the office I feel very confident and safe. Fantastic experience: Christina was very informative re how services would be billed and very willing to be helpful. Nikki and Carol were personable and attentive. Can't say enough about Omar. Not only was he obviously knowledgeable and communicative, but very informative. I was very impressed with the improvement in the Beneva office. It was head over heels above what I experienced at the Fruitville office when I had to go there during the Covid lockdown.

Fantastic experience: I met Christy, Carolina, and Omar (hope I got your names right!) on my first visit, and each one of them immediately made me feel completely at home! Their rapport was warm and genuine, and their helpful knowledge was super beneficial! I could gush on and on about them, but suffice it to say that (because my insurance company screwed up) if I have to change insurance providers in order to stay at this office, I WILL! You guys ROCK!

Negative experience: I had an 8:30 appointment. When I arrived at the office I was told my appointment was cancelled due to broken equipment. No one bothered to call me ahead of time to say it was cancelled. They insisted they called and I showed them my phone messages, no call was made! The same thing has happened to my husband. A very unprofessional dental group.

Negative experience: Appeared for the appointment only to be told that it was canceled due to technical problems for the second time in a month. I complained that I’d gotten six emails this week reminding me of the appointment but was sent a cancellation (that I did not get) only an hour before. The receptionist Apologized for the “inconvenience” caused but did little to convince me that this was not standard practice. Very bad customer service!

Fantastic experience: Third time to visit Dr.D and I have only good things to say. She is so kind and you can tell she actually cares about your health. I’ve been to dentists who barely look at you and forget you 5 seconds after you leave, but she sees patients as people. She was very reassuring and I had no pain with my tooth extraction. Everyone in the office was very nice and caring from the receptionist, to the assistant, and also Omar who took all my X-rays. Several times he stopped and asked if I was ok or needed a break. I also saw the office respond to someone experiencing a real dental emergency in lots of pain and they were all very compassionate. After having another local dentist whose office was incompetent and uncaring, this was a welcome change. I’ve definitely found “my dentist”

Negative experience: Every time met kind and helpful stuff. High quality and professional treatment. Would recommend to everyone this office. Updates: very disappointed! Lately terrible customer service, impossible to get hold of someone in this office! Aligners were supposed to be done by October last year, today is January /16/23 nobody calls or responds…. even though the full amount was paid …. Hopefully this year will get it or have refund

Negative experience: Don’t even want to give 1star but I’m required to for review. I originally posted a good review because I got in quickly for my first ever appointment with them…But….. boy was I wrong!! They tried to tell me I needed $10k in dental work when I didn’t even have 1 cavity 8 months prior at my other dentist. After my appointment, they charged me when it was covered under my insurance & it literally took me 6/7 months of trying to call to get it resolved. I had 3 other family members calling for me several times a week because I was so dumbfounded that I couldn’t get ahold of any staff member. These people never answer their phone nor return calls. In addition to family calling, I left 6 voice messages a week & called probably 5-6 times daily. Everyone told me I had to get ahold of the brick & mortar building & this was the place that would not answer. I went down to the building twice & was very polite but the woman I spoke with was not. She said she was going on her lunch break and could not help me. This is the response I was given after explaining how difficult it had been to try to get my billing error fixed & nobody ever answered or returned my calls. She didn’t say it but implied I was lying. She said “I always answer my phone”. I read literally dozens upon dozens of other complaints where other individuals could not get ahold of anyone either. Billing mistakes happen and I understand, but taking over half a year to get resolved is completely unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Pefect and wonderful kind service by my Dental ASSISTANT! SUCH A KIND PERSON..REALLY APPRECIATE HER KINDNESS. Doctor was very nice and thorough.

Fantastic experience: Being at the mercy of Medicare dental insurance, I was terrified because of my last experience with a Medicare dentist. However, the whole experience from start to finish was really pleasant. My dental hygienist, Omar, explained that he had to take x-rays of my teeth beforehand. He was personable & easy to talk to. Didn't cause me any pain at all. Even complimenting me on what nice teeth I had! The Dr. came in to look at my teeth and although it was a quick exam, NO CAVITIES!, she was also pleasant as well. Everyone I encountered in the office was nice and helpful. The office was clean & welcoming, although some of the equipment could probabley use an upgrade. The receptionist was kind...I loved her style (leopard print! )...Thanks everyone for making it a positive experience. Just because those of us who are low income with government insurance can't afford high quality dental care, doesn't mean we don't deserve high quality service! Looking forward to my next exam.

Negative experience: If there is an 0- then I wil give to this office ..I have been trying to make an appointment for almost year now can not coming to see a Dentist excepted once year 2020 and they always rechedule whether do not have Doctor or hygienest for many times on the row I have to find different provider and not recomment anyone to go there ...staff very unprofessional and rude...

Negative experience: The customer service it’s horrible they never answer the phone , and when you go there the assistant it’s late when the doctor it’s treating you the assistant are talking about her personal life and saying that they are ready for lunch also the water extractor it’s never working still they put it inside your mouth to tested also doing the impressions of the crown they left all the gummy plastic thing all over your lips .I hope to whoever it’s going there have a better experience for me it was a nightmare.

Fantastic experience: The staff in that place was fantastic! I had some cavities filled,and the finished product is astounding. I can proudly smile again!!! Thanks guys and gals!!!!!!!!!!

Negative experience: We booked an appointment 6 months ahead. A couple of days before the appointment we got a cancelation notice. Somehow people left the office and it just didn't feel right so we decided to change dentist.

Negative experience: I had appointment on 9/7/2022 for 2:00pm. I sat in lobby for over an hour. I was the only patient in the office. They finally came out and we went to back. I went in just to get fitted for bottom dentures. I have very good insurance and they want to charge me over $10,000 for bottom dentures. The receptionist was very rude. No one spoke English. Not a good place. STAY AWAY !!!!!
