I have TMJD/TMD and experience lock jaw and severe pain during treatments. Dr Yu works with me when this happens and helps me feel comfortable and confident in his care. However, I have been exceptionally pleased with the work done by Dr. Yu. His bedside manner is fantastic and his work is very thorough. In addition, you were always getting strange bills out of nowhere when you think you’ve already paid everything that you owed with the Explanation of changing systems, etc.

Experiencia negativa: This dental practice has gone downhill in recent years, especially when it comes to the billing. Check your explanation of benefits! They will charge you their write off and you won't get the money unless you ask for it. It started small with charging $59 instead of $36 for fluoride. Then they moved to bigger expenses. Every trip became a headache waiting for the EOB so I could correct it and get my money back. I would expect this from a large greedy corporate practice but not a small family business who preaches caring. The new dentists and hygienists you meet every time are nice but they are not worth the hassle. Look elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: After much thought and discussion with my husband, I had to change my positive review. I really like Dr. Reeves and Dr. Yu, but sadly can’t go there any more because of the lack of communication, and compassion from the front office staff. I had gone there many years ago when they did take my insurance, but stopped after they didn’t have weekend appointments because of my young children at the time. As my kids got older, I went back recently, but I wasn’t informed that things have changed, and that they don’t take my insurance anymore. I had a crown done, and it cost me $1500 out of pocket. After the temporary crown was put in, I was charged half of 1500. I was told that the next payment for the permanent crown could be broken up into small payments. When I went back to get the permanent, I was told by another girl that I had to pay the full amount. You can imagine my disappointment and confusion at that point. I mentioned to her what the other girl had told me that I could break up the payment, but she didn’t let me. I asked them again after Dr. Yu had taken lots of photos to show my insurance my tooth was broken, why it cost me so much. This was my second time asking them. They didn’t inform me they don’t take my insurance anymore. I went home, called my insurance, then I found out, and you can imagine my shock. They had multiple opportunities to inform me that they stopped taking it since I was a former patient. I called, and the girl on the phone was a bit harsh with me saying that it’s my responsibility. She didn’t apologize or say sorry for the confusion. Just stated plainly that it’s my responsibility, and I felt like she scolded me. That felt cold and unwarranted to me. Open communication, and compassion should match the back of the office to the front. I have been to other dentists over the years, but didn’t find anyone as good as Dr Reeves, and Dr Yu. I will miss seeing those doctors a lot as they made me feel like family, and treated me with the utmost care and respect.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my first experience with First Impressions yesterday and I have to say it was the best first experience that I have ever had at a dental office. The staff was kind, informative, and sensitive to my concerns. I was being seen to complete my clear aligner treatment, as I grew overly frustrated with the originating dental office. I saw Dr. Carter Reeves and was impressed with how quickly he was able to assess the outcome of the of my therapy and determine that although the result of the treatment (from the other dentist) wasn't ideal, he could perform a treatment that day to achieve the desired bite. More importantly, he took the time to explain the advantages of completing my therapy in this way as opposed to continuing alignment therapy. He was very considerate of my extraordinary tooth sensitivity and was surprisingly gentle in polishing off my buttons (the aligner anchors) without anesthetic, but it was completely painless and I greatly appreciated that. What I valued the most was the amount of time he took in walking through my final 3D tooth scans to highlight the improvement of the on-site treatment he performed, where the combined treatments leave me and a long-term plan for maintaining my now improved bite. Though I am certain he was busy, he never gave the impression that he was rushed or needed to be somewhere else. He made sure that all of my questions were answered and I was satisfied with the treatment and path forward before completing my visit. Though this was my first visit to the office, they made a great first impression (not sure how to avoid the pun at this point) and I would strongly recommend the office and Dr. Carter Reeves.

Experiencia negativa: Major red flags!! Please read before going to this practice! My husband and two daughters had been to this practice and things were mediocre … until their appointment in April and my first appointment with them in June. The new dentists we saw were no longer in-network and we were charged out-of-network costs. Aetna was amazing and did a one-time exception to change those visits to in-network. We had already paid our bill in full, so when First Impressions Dental received the check from Aetna you would think they would reimburse me the amount I had already paid. Nope! Not only did they not get the refund process started (I had to call twice), they claimed we still had a balance. This so-called balance was for “hospitality and in-office write-offs”. One was from 2023. Interesting how this popped up out of nowhere two years later… hmm. They cashed the insurance check and instead of paying us back what insurance says we were owed, they’re taking back all hospitality and write-offs and returning SOME of the insurance check. Basically being vindictive and taking money from an insurance check to pay themselves back. I’ve filed an official complaint with Aetna and will update this review once the complaint process with insurance is completed.

No cap, but first off, Kelly she is thy epitome of professionalism and courtesy every office needs in a receptionist. Outstanding personality, helpful, cordial and gets you going right away an exceptional communicator. So This was my 3rd. visit to this office. 1st time great 2nd. Not so good. I was irate with the lack of preparation / organization ahead of my appointment and the lack of patience and empathy from the doctor and his assistant. So much so that I had an out of character out burst at them for their behavior and lack of professionalism from them for the way we're treating me! And after a conversation with them afterwards things got back in the track! So for this third visit I was very apprehensive as to what this visit was going to be like and it turned out to be fantastic.. they totally redeemed themselves and now have my recommendation for new customers. Experiencia fantástica: This practice is quite busy and popular for a reason. State of the art technology, but most importantly the doctors care. Dr. Reeves is a truly amazing and caring dentist. However, since the practice is so busy, he had to hire other dentists to help out. In the past to be honest, the other dentists Dr. Reeves hired, weren't as talented as Dr. Reeves. Disappointing to say the least. However, his most recent hire Dr. Yu, is probably just as caring and talented as Dr. Reeves. I can finally say that even when I can't see Dr. Reeves for appointments, I know I'm still in good hands. Bravo.

Experiencia fantástica: State of the art, compassionate and painless treatment. I’ve seen Dr. Reeves for several years for regular exams but finally needed some major, expensive work. But Dr. Reeves determined a different procedure would better meet my needs now and in the long-run, and it was considerably less costly. I especially appreciate that as he performed each step of the procedure he continually talked about what he was doing and, importantly, why. Yes, it was an effective anxiety-reducing distraction, but it was also an interesting education. If I have many more procedures with him, I’ll probably learn enough to take the State dental licensing exam!

Experiencia fantástica: I hate the dentist. I mean, I really really hate the dentist. It’s been one of my longest running phobias, and sources of anxiety. When I started to have pain in my mouth, I knew I didn’t have much choice so I asked around and was immediately recommended to first impressions dental. I had a feeling I was probably dealing with a different experience when I called to make my appointment as a new patient and that was only reinforced the day that I arrived. The staff and technicians were friendly, empathetic, and did their utmost to put me at ease. The office was modern and clean, and very aesthetically pleasing. The dentist himself, Dr. Carter Reeves, was probably one of the most unique dentists I have ever met. He reinforced that he was going to help me and get me out of pain as quickly as possible and during the entire procedure was quick with jokes or stories or just about anything to keep my mind off of what was happening. You could really tell that he was paying attention to my mood and body language And was tailoring the experience to make it as easy as possible for me. I can see now why so many people told me that his practice specializes in people with dentist anxiety, and phobias. I still don’t enjoy going to the dentist. (show me anyone who does) But I wouldn’t think twice about going back to first impressions, and I would recommend anyone do the same.

During a routine cleaning and X-ray review, Dr. Reeves noticed a cavity developing under one of my crowns. Thanks to their attention to detail and commitment to proactive care, he was able to remove the crown and address the issue quickly and comfortably. The process was smooth, painless, and handled with the utmost care and professionalism. What really stands out is Dr. Reeves's commitment to using the latest dental technology—everything is state-of-the-art, and he always take time to explain how it helps keep your teeth healthy long-term. Dr. Reeves also has a great smile and a warm, welcoming personality that instantly puts you at ease. You can tell he and his team truly care about their patients. Experiencia fantástica: After experiencing an extended medical crisis for 2 years and many treatments in other areas, it became apparent that I needed to resume dental care. I showed up to First Impression Dental full of nerves and severe anxiety, concerned it would just be another doctor that wouldn’t take my situation seriously. Dr. Reeves, Dr. Liz, Dr. Yu, Krystle (absolutely amazing and gentle hygienist!) and staff have gone above and beyond to put me at ease, give truly excellent care, and treat my TMJ/TMD to the point of rarely experiencing that pain anymore. As a SureSmile patient, I’ve had several office visits at this point, and they’ve all been very positive...no complaints. I can’t recommend this practice enough! And the sweet therapy dog is just icing on the cake. You will not be disappointed as a patient of First Impression Dental!

They even took out a binder of an elderly woman named “Heather” to use as a scare tactic. It was the most horrifying dental experience I have ever had. Oh also- my appointment was 40 minutes late. I look forward to finding another dentist!

This dentist office is so great that I get the expert service AND no gas because they are gentle and thorough. And and patient! From Kelly and Liz to Jenny-the best hygienist! Dr Reeve’s and Dr Yu are both amazing. You will not go wrong with this dentist office.

Experiencia negativa: I trusted this dental office with my oral health needs, including their recommendation to purchase a custom nightguard. I was told it would last around 10 years, and I paid nearly $1,000 out-of-pocket in addition to what they billed my insurance. Shockingly, the nightguard developed a full crack after just 15 months of very light, routine use. When I brought this to their attention, they offered no accountability or meaningful solution—just a suggestion to reorder the exact same product, at full price, again. No partial credit, no warranty consideration, nothing. It became painfully clear that the priority here isn’t patient care but profit maximization. Selling such a substandard product at a premium price and then brushing off the consequences when it fails is not only unethical but exploitative. A medical provider should stand by their recommendations, not push low-quality items under the guise of professionalism. In my experience, they are more interested in profits than reliability or responsibility

Experiencia fantástica: Updated: Based off the amazing reviews, I came here (initially) looking to get a night guard because I read online that they used the digital impressions. I had a dentist I liked in Bailey's Crossroads but he didn't have digital impressions. However, I have completely changed dentists and only go to Dr. Reeves now. Not only is the location incredibly convenient, everyone at this office is awesome. From the hygienists to the assistants, to the girls in the office and Dr. Reeves - everyone is amazing. They have digital x-rays, the machine that moves around your mouth to take an x-ray and the regular ones. The digital impressions is a wand that they use in your mouth to capture the impression and it comes right up on the screen. Dr. Reeves and his new assistant, Jenny explain what they're doing step-by-step and use analogies that make it easier for you to understand. Jenny is AMAZING. She was so gentle and calming during my whole crown prep. She held my hand during the novacaine injection (I'm a baby), and she did the gooey impression that makes a temporary crown. She kept me calm the whole time! I asked that she be assisting Dr. Reeves the next time that I come in. I've had many different procedures here. Dr. Reeves is the best at giving the novacaine injection as well as everything else throughout the course of the treatment. They offer pillows, blankets, headphones, Netflix, and Doc (the micro golden doodle - if he's there), etc. They also have very convenient hours. They try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. They also explained my coverage and what I would owe out of pocket before my appointment. I recommended this practice to my husband and will recommend it to others as well. They lived up to their name; I was very impressed!

My experience at First Impression Dental was so exceptional that I felt compelled to share. From start to finish, everything about my visit was amazing. It all began with Yasmin, who was so incredibly friendly and helpful when I called to make an appointment that I almost forgot I was scheduling time to willingly let someone poke around in my mouth. Then came the hygienist—patient, kind, and thorough. And finally, there was Dr. Jafari, the MVP of my dental journey. I’ll admit it: I’d been avoiding the dentist for longer than I care to admit (serious gum issues + bad past experiences = avoidance). But Dr. Jafari and the entire First Impression team completely changed my outlook. He was kind, compassionate, and ready to work with me to get my oral health back on track. In fact, he didn’t just talk about it—he started my treatment the very same day. He explained every step of the process and, miracle of miracles, never once made me feel like a dental delinquent for neglecting my health. Here’s the kicker: I actually teared up in the chair—not from pain, but from sheer relief and gratitude. The equipment and techniques they use are state-of-the-art, and what I thought would be a nightmare of a procedure turned out to be painless. For the first time ever, I’m actually looking forward to my follow-up appointment. Who even am I? Experiencia negativa: Avoid this dentists office !! 1. Constant sales pitches !!!! High pressure to get Invisalign with them. Even repeatedly calling to follow up on when I want to start that treatment. 2. Told me I needed a crown replaced that I was having no issues with. The estimate they provided was far exceeded ($1,000 more!). It was too late since I’d already had it done. Worse than that , the work was terrible. The new permanent crown was put in with too much cement so it didn’t lay correctly. I had to come back and have it removed (drilling and shots all over again.) Then it was placed again but is still not lying right and bothers me now when it never was an issue to begin with. 3. After being a patient for years Dr Reeves suddenly is out of network but no one mentioned this to me before scheduling my cleaning with him. The first time this happened they didn’t charge me the extra amount and I made it clear I wanted to be seen by the dentist that does accept my insurance. Again, at my last cleaning Dr Reeves comes in. I thought perhaps he was in network again. I then received a bill for my cleaning. After weeks of back and forth I was told that I must pay the amount and that waving it last time was a courtesy to me rather than a mistake by them?

Now I look forward to my visits every few months as it’s always a pleasant time, and I know I’m being taken care of adequately. I’ve trusted them with removing all 4 of my wisdom teeth, whitening sessions, as well as cleanings, deep cleanings, and general checkups for dental health. Dr. Jafari, Dr. Reeves, and the whole staff are great and I would confidently recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist in the area! (It’s a little far from me personally, but I still make the drive happily since I’ve found my permanent dental office now).

Experiencia fantástica: As a dental-phobe from WAY back I usually have a difficult time going to the dentist. Dr Reeves is THE BEST! I have had extensive work done including removal of the old amalgam fillings - if you still have any- Dr Reeves is your go to guy- he knows how to safely remove them!!! Then I had several crowns put in. And sadly had to have an implant. He always does a superb job and uses the best equipment and the highest quality providers for the materials he uses. Plus he is excellent with color - nothing worse than those weird off color teeth that are almost translucent. I HIGHLY recommend. Oh and I drive from 50 minutes away! Worth the trip!!

I had to get 5 fills at once with Dr.Jafari DDS :), he was super attentive and empathetic to how I was feeling the entire time. I felt no pain and have so much confidence in my fills, he even took the initiative to fix some spacing that I had going on. I asked questions about my bite and brushing habits and he answered everything with no sign of annoyance. I most definitely will make this office my dental home and will recommend anyone who asks! Trust me you will not be disappointed.

He is always up to speed on any new dental techniques and products. He does beautiful dental work. What we like the most about Dr. Reeves is that he is very gentle and strives to be “the painless dentist “. His dental hygienists are excellent. Whenever I get my teeth cleaned by his hygienist, my teeth look and feel very clean. I tell people that the cleaning feels like a tooth massage! The office staff members are very friendly and professional. Ever since going to Dr. Carter Reeves’ practice, my husband and I feel like family there. We recommend you giving his practice a try.
