Experiencia fantástica: Well Finally got around to seeing the wonderful folks at Irmo Smiles. The staff is really interested in your dental needs. Top performance in all areas starting with my New dental x-rays then to my shiny polished teeth (it tickles when the tool touches my gums (Beth was nice & funny). Honestly I was nervous when it came to the cleaning with Dena and I told her I was and I have sensitive gums but WOW it didn't bother me at all Dena is a Rock Star she even apologized for the water splashing from the device but it never hurt 1 time and I am 73 and been to many a dentist. Well I was in for the Big treat of my visit I was seen by Dr.Rayman, as she looked over all the great work that was done by her team she stated talking to the technician in Dental terms about the condition of a couple of my teeth, I was lost but she is so lovely and beautiful and pretty and easy to talk to, she doesn't make you feel guilty about not flossing she's a team builder and a great person. Well check out was a breeze with Claudia and a follow-up schedule for a cavity repair "easy peazy" Looking forward to going back for more dental work (can't believe I said that) Thank you Irmo Smiles.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve been at Irmo Smiles for a couple of years now and have had a great experience for me, my husband, and my kids. Recently, we’ve had several procedures done that needed to be taken care of and the curtesy of running it through our insurance has been great. My kids had Beth a couple of months ago and I just had her again for my own cleaning and she’s been a joy each time. With my kids she showed me exactly what they needed to work on and how I could help. We had easy conversation during my own and she was thorough in the cleaning. She’s been fantastic and I do hope to have her again soon. The only downside is that you do have to commit to 20% down payment when scheduling services for the next appointment (when they aren’t a cleaning). And there are no payment plan options. So you do feel the pressure to make a decision in the moment. I haven’t had a hard time with that as I can be pretty straightforward with whether it’s realistic for me or not ; however, I can see how others may get the impression that they’re being forced quickly. Overall I would recommend coming here for service (and would recommend connecting with Beth!)

Experiencia fantástica: My cleaning and visit today was amazing as always at Irmo Smiles. Lorraine is always a friendly smiling face when you come inside. I had a different hygienist. Her name was Beth and she was amazing and friendly and kind. Dr. Davis was filling in and did an excellent job checking my teeth and cleaning and Claudia even filled in today doing X-rays as one of their employees was out and she was extra sweet and helpful and I was so glad to meet her because I don’t often see her as she’s usually behind her desk. Monica as always is so kind when I check out and always so pleasant and helpful going over and explaining charges. Robin even came out and spoke to me as she stopped by to do something at the office and she is the best! Always love to see her. Irmo Smiles is top quality!I have probably been with them for about 48 years at least.

Experiencia fantástica: Lorraine was beyond awesome and was so patient with me and my questions. It was so nice to come in and she made my fear of the dentist go away. I was thinking of not staying due to insurance questions and lack of knowledge but Lorraine took time to talk with me and made me feel so special. This is the place to go that will take great care of you. Nicole answered my questions when Lorraine felt the need to get her to answer more questions on insurance and was so nice. Dena who cleaned my teeth was the best hygienist I've had. So sweet and very knowledgeable.

Experiencia negativa: The amount of calls and text hounding me to confirm an appt is utterly ridiculous. I’m an adult I haven’t missed an appt with Irmo Smiles ever. Yet they continue to lump good customers in with bad ones to the point I’m leaving and finding another dentist. OVERBEARING comes to mind. Now an update. My spouse gets their teeth done here. They applied the $60 fluoride treatment without consent. Didn’t ask once. Paid for it, but won’t be back. We have Fluoride in our drinking water, toothpaste, and mouthwash…..complete ripoff. $60 isn’t a big deal, it’s the deception, the not asking and just doing. We’ll be moving the Whole family to a new provider.

Experiencia negativa: I had a disappointing experience at Irmo Smiles Dentistry and ultimately decided to switch providers. During the time I was a patient there, I was spending at least $500 per year on cavity fillings. At nearly every six-month visit, their cavity scanning device would detect three to four new cavities, which resulted in frequent and costly procedures. I was also strongly encouraged by staff to have my wisdom teeth removed, even though they were not causing me any pain or issues. A dental assistant told me about an elderly patient who had infected wisdom teeth and emphasized that surgery becomes more difficult with age. Based on this recommendation, I went through with the removal and spent $1,300. Additionally, Irmo Smiles recommended dental sealants due to deep grooves in my teeth. These sealants were not covered by insurance and cost $75 per tooth. They were presented as a way to prevent frequent cavities, adding yet another significant out-of-pocket expense. After switching to Chapin Smiles Dentistry, my experience was very different. My new dentist evaluated my teeth using X-rays, showed them to me, and explained that there were no signs of cavities at all. This raised serious concerns for me about whether the treatments I previously received were truly necessary. While the staff at Irmo Smiles is friendly and pleasant, I often felt that the focus was more on recommending expensive procedures than on my actual dental health. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to seek a second opinion before agreeing to extensive or costly dental work.

Experiencia negativa: I made an appointment with this facility in July of 2025 for my cleaning and asked if they accepted my insurance and I was told that they did. At the time I was a new patient to the practice so they did x-rays as well and told me I have 5 cavities. A person discussed the estimated out of pocket cost would be around $400 and gave me a sheet showing the itemized cost with my estimated insurance contribution so I scheduled the fillings within the 3-month window that I was told for insurance to cover, which was in October. After my appointment for the fillings the receptionist told me my copay would be $934. I stated that I was told it would be ~$400 and I asked if I could do a payment plan and she said no. So I had to pay the FULL amount before leaving. I recently found out that they were out-of-network with my insurance and NOBODY ever mentioned that to me when I made the first appointment neither for the fillings. They scammed me out of $934. There should at least be some type of payment plan because I was prepared to pay around the estimated amount. Although it was an estimated amount, the actual amount should not have been DOUBLE the estimate. This place is money hungry and will never receive my business again.

Experiencia negativa: This place will tell you your insurance is accepted and that your appointment has been paid for when really, they are out of network for damn near every provider, like another review said they will leave a balance on your account forcing you to pay it next time you come in, and try to take the money from your insurance company as well, the financials of this place are awful.

Experiencia negativa: This place sucks.my feelings they put in 2 yrs ago fell out and they put them back in and charged me 1043.00. They didn't give me a itemized of what I was going to have to pay I thought since they put them In they would fix them for free. Will not go back.

Experiencia fantástica: I broke my front tooth late Tuesday afternoon around 3:30pm. I moved to Columbia SC about 1 year ago. I have not made it a priority to find a new dentist. I have passed Irmo Smiles many times traveling around town. I always commented on how nice the office looked and would say to myself, "I need to make an appointment at Irmo Smiles to have my teeth cleaned". Well, unfortunately I needed a dentist for an emergency procedure before I established myself as a patient at a local dentist office. I called Irmo Smiles on Tuesday after 3:30 pm and explained what I needed. The front office was very professional and also calming. I provided the details of my emergency and was pleasantly surprised they were willing to work me in on Wednesday morning. Lorraine in the front office greeted me Wednesday morning, provided a tour of the dental office and gave background information on the over 90 years of experience between the 3 dentists who were the providers at Irmo Smiles. Robin, the dental hygienist who worked with me has been at Irmo Smiles for over 13 years. Robin was kind, funny and very professional. Robin explained the procedure to me and began prepping my tooth for the temporary crown ( My front tooth...yikes, it was concerning to me that the crown might not match my other teeth). Robin assured me, they only use a state of the art lab and my permanent crown would be a perfect match. I then met Dr. Raman and she was a delight. I have never met a more personable, beautiful dentist (not just outer beauty but inner beauty) in my life. I felt like I had know Robin and Dr. Raman for many years. The procedure was painless and great care was given to make sure my temporary crown looked natural. Robin went above and beyond to shape my temporary crown as close as possible to my other front tooth. I have found my new dentist. I have always taken great care of my teeth and have had several dentists throughout my life. I have never been so impressed with a dentist and the staff that assist with patients, as I was today. I recommend Irmo Smiles to anyone new to the Columbia SC area or anyone looking to replace a current dentist who just doesn't meet your standards. Thank you Irmo Smiles!!
Experiencia negativa: Around October I had a cavity filled and what they call a cap tooth done. I had paid for everything they told me the insurance would not cover. Then today, I get a call from the office confirming an appointment I had and the lady explained that I still owed almost $300! I am confused on how that came about, after the money I paid and filing through the insurance? I will never again step foot in this office to have any type of work done since I only had a tooth filled not restored and have to pay this amount! I will say that the staff is very nice and helpful when I went to my appointment.
Experiencia negativa: WARNING-GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Beautiful location! I would not trust the Financial Aspect of this business at all! They will tell you that your insurance will pay you via check and that's what insurance will pay them. You go in and give them that money and they claim the insurance didn't cover it at all and then want to come after you for the FULL price without insurance. IF INSURANCE DENIED IT WHY DID THEY SEND ME A CHECK TO PAY YOU, THAT I GAVE YOU!? My mother has Medicare and an extremely good plan. We cancelled our whole family after this and unreferred our friends.
Experiencia fantástica: I was there to provide my professional services but the staff was very helpful. If my kids were still of age to use their services, I would definitely take them to Irmo Smiles!
