Experiencia fantástica: Doc Schafer literally changed my life with his expert knowledge and skills! I have been to no less than 10 different dentist in the past 30yrs Ive had 3 different dentures n none of them even come close to doc Schafer! Dude is the BEST in EVERY aspect of dentistry!!!

The dentist was super gentle and took his time to address my concerns. The staff was also super kind and helpful when it came to questions about billing and aftercare.

Experiencia negativa: In the beginning, the staff was very nice. However, I was overcharged for a low quality material After it broke, I returned to the office 3 times On my third visit that week, the receptionist told me to come in around 8:00 AM. I arrived at 8:12 AM, but she refused to let me see or even speak with the doctor, saying I should have been there exactly at 8am. I explained that I have a child to take to school and commute from Metairie, which makes it difficult to arrive earlier. Her response was dismissive, stating that she also has a child. At this point, I’m no longer interested in speaking with the doctor. The material used for my partial was low quality, and I am still making payments through CareCredit. While the doctor was professional, I cannot say the same about the staff.

Experiencia negativa: The Dental Clinic’s Unprofessionalism and Subpar Service I strongly advise against visiting this dental clinic. My denture broke, and the clinic informed me that there was no warranty coverage. This lack of professionalism and the poor quality of service are unacceptable. As a result, I incurred an additional $2,500 in charges with care credit and my denture remains damaged.

Experiencia fantástica: Just saw Dr. Schafer today for an emergency chipped front tooth. He did an excellent repair job. The tooth looks so natural. No one can tell it was even chipped. Highly recommend.

Finally, they tell me to find a new dentist because I guess me following up concerned about my Dad was inconvenient for them. Cannot believe a medical professional would act that way. I was fine after didn’t feel any pain and I thanked him a lot!! Definitely will be back for other work that needs to be done!!

Experiencia negativa: I was extremely hopeful about my appointment. On arrival I gave my id and was told I could not be seen bc it was expired and that it was a required by my insurance to have valid id. I called Medicaid bc my husband took off of work today to bring me and also wasted the gas to drive. Medicaid explained that as long as I had my id it did not need to be unexpired. I went inside to ask the front desk to speak to Medicaid agent and they refused. Then I was told that it was Louisiana law to have a valid id. I called Louisiana board of dentistry this was not true. I asked to speak to another person and instead of getting the dentist it was another staff member that just refused me. I have never had this issue anywhere and I spoke to 3 different Medicaid agents who said they had never heard of this being an issue. I was hoping to get my teeth fixed bc I'm in a lot of pain but was not given any help besides the staff being rude. La board of dentistry said that the dentist should have come and spoke to me directly but I wasn't given that chance. For future reference your site does not say it requires UNEXPIRED IDENTIFICATION. It only says to show id card......in response to "your" answer I spoke to Medicaid I so ke to 4 other dentist offices and all of them said that expired id are taken bc it just needs to have my license number and picture. Your doctor's office is the only medical office I have every been to that refused treatment for this reason. I was also told in order to speak with you I would have to make another appointment But I can't be seen off my id is expired And it's unreasonable for anyone to expect you to come speak to them? I would truly hop that this isn't the actual dentist responding...the state board of dentistry and Medicaid both explained that my expired id should not be a reason to refuse care. I dodged a bullet..I will make sure to file a formal complaint with them.

I was petrified of going back to any dentist but after lack of maintenance, severe sensitivity and bad genes lead to front tooth decay, I really had no choice but to atleast have my teeth looked at. I was a nervous wreck, and completely embarrassed to have anyone see how bad my teeth were thinking i was going to need them all replaced with dentures or implants. But Dr. Schaeffer was genuinely sincere and put my mind at ease when he told me that my teeth could all possibly be fixed with just fillings !! He was open and honest with me about what I could possibly experience needing so many fillings and what the severity of each cavity truly was. BUT reassured me that he believed it could be done with fillings alone. Which was a truly a relief, I feel like he could have taken advantage of the fact that I was expecting to need my teeth replaced but he didn't and he made me feel like he truly had my best interest at heart. He didn't make me feel bad about my situation at all. Extremely professional and helpful staff as well. I was able to get my appointment withing 48 hours and even got my front teeth all filled in the same day. This maxed out my insurance cap for the year BUT they provided me with an itemized treatment plan of everything I still needed and the cost and offered a payment plan. Dr. Schaeffer and staff gave me my smile and my confidence back and I will most certainly be a lifelong customer and recommend them to everyone.

I had an early morning appointment where i was told my insurance wouldn’t cover the work. I’d need to pay out of pocket. $1600… I end up finding a way to pay for it and they made me wait an hour and a half to get the work done. Just for me to still feel severe sensitivity. I went back to inform the Doctor I am still feeling pain. He said it could just be the nerve is damage and there’s no definite time it will repair and to use sensitive toothpaste in which i already do. I wasted $1600 just to half fix my tooth and for me to be in pain still. Please save your money.

The office creeped me out a little at first with tooth fragments from dentures being made there but hey…the only thing that I will not return for is the front desk lady with the glasses. She is very rude and not patient at all. She was being very rough when doing x-rays. I told her she was hurting me several times and she got mad, stormed out of the room and told me the dentist would finish. Jesecka was very sweet and helpful and so was the dentist. Hate that you can only schedule within 48 hours of an appnmnt if you have insurance and need treatment, but I get it. Also, if you cancel twice (regardless of how far in advance), they only allow you to schedule 24 hours before the appnmt for the rest of your life.
