They take different types of insurance so give them a chance. They are incredible they are awesome they work together they're a team. I had no pain in any work that I've had done. And when you go in tell them Barbara Ann sent you. Trust me you will not be disappointed. So get your Dental needs from the best dental office and care in all of J-Town.

Experiencia negativa: Went in for an emergency appointment because the pain was horrible. The dentist was very unprofessional kept calling me girl and ignoring my pain just to get good x rays. The dentist wasnt even talking to me but at me if that makes any sense. Then sent me home knowing my tooth was cracking letting me know that ill be seen again at the end of January with antibiotics but it was just 10 pills. I had to ask for more antibiotics because what is 10 pills when I have to wait over a month to be seen. Now the tooth completely crack. They do not take emergencies seriously at all. It hasn't even been a full 2 weeks since I was last seen. Looking for a new dentist during the hoildays suck.

Dr. Christina Hamby is such a delight - professional, friendly, open to all questions and so flexible in her scheduling to accommodate her patients' preferences. Her assistant, Husein, was also everything you would want in a dental assistant - friendly, professional, patient and willing to answer any questions. This office is highly recommended!

Experiencia negativa: I was there to get a tooth pulled and they did a bone graft preparing me for an implant. The charges to me personally and to my insurance were over $1,000. The dentist mentioned to me that I had a cavity in one of my teeth and that I should make an appointment to come back. When I did, they said I could not get the cavity filled on the same appointment because I had to First be established as a new patient and then come back on another appointment to get that done. I have to pay for Lyft rides because I do not have transportation. I am disabled and cannot afford two separate rides for two separate appointments and do not understand why I have to do this in two different appointments. I have been to two different other Mortensen locations in the last year and nobody said anything about a cavity in this tooth although multiple x-rays have been done on my teeth. I feel like they are just taking advantage of me to do work when they want to do it and they know they are going to get money that day.

Experiencia positiva: I go to this dentist often, I like the dentists there and have usually never had an issue so this isn’t to convince people to stop going here but rather share an experience to hopefully improve service. It’s extremely frustrating to show up to an appointment made 6 months ago and be told it was given away because I didn’t ‘confirm’ it. I understand why you want confirmation. You don’t want empty seats at an otherwise busy place of work. And I acknowledge that on the day you tried to reach me but unfortunately as you might know we live in a capitalistic hellscape where people may not be always able to access their phone due to their work. Some people might read this and go boo hoo how hard it is for you. And yeah, I wish it was simple as it is for others to manage seemingly simple things like confirming an appointment but I probably wouldn’t even make it to the dentist if the appointments weren’t scheduled when the last one happens. Personally, I’d rather pay a late fee than have another task I have to do before my appointment or some other process. Thats just me though and I realize you have a sea of patients that all have their behaviors and preferences.

Experiencia fantástica: I always brace myself for the worst. I’ve not had insurance or I thought I didn’t until I got to the dentist, I let them know beforehand because I know it can get pricey. One of the ladies came back and talked me through payment options and all that good stuff, I told her about my previous insurance which I thought was cut off and she just said I’ll check it out just in case. Turns out it’s still active!!! She really saved me out of pocket cost. I’ve been to different dentist and they never take the time to look you up, it’s always well you have to have the card physically and what not. I really appreciate that she took the time to go back and look me up I would’ve never known my insurance was still active! Thanks so much ❤️

The only bad thing is the dentist/provider that accepts medicaid is leaving this location and they could do an exam ONLY after waiting 5 months for my appointment. They referred me to a different location that has a 3 month wait so I am spending 8 months without getting a clean or any work done.

Experiencia fantástica: I mean… they are my regular dentist for about a year and a half now. And that’s all gone well. I think I made a note when I first filled out my new patient paperwork that I had a dental phobia since I was a kid. It’s never come up, but they treat me so sweetly and warmly that I assume they know. Anyway, finally did a review because I had a pain in my gum for a week. It reached a head. Thought maybe I’d lose my jaw or something. Couldn’t chew. Maddening pain at night. They got me in next business day and took all of ten minutes to get me seated, x-rayed, settled. Then Doc popped in and took five seconds to find this grain of sand (or popcorn?) just under my gum and fish it out. I feel alive again! If only bills, taxes, and peaceful resolutions to political differences were that east.
