They are great with the kids always make sure to ask if we have questions about anything they also make sure to talk to the kids well they are looking at there teeth an always try an help when the kiddos are scared. They try to communicate with the kids so they also know/understand what is going on with there treatment.

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter was sedated this morning for some dental work. The assistant Mya was very informative and reassuring about the procedure process. I felt comfortable with my daughter being in the room without needing me. The procedure was finished in a timely manner and I’m very glad I chose this office for my daughter. Amazing office.

Experiencia fantástica: I am a mother of five and several of my children have special needs. We have gone to Harbor Kids Dental since 2021, and I have had only positive experiences. They have always listened to my ideas of how to accommodate my children, and as a result, my kids are not scared of the dentist. In fact, they kind of look forward to going which sounds crazy, but when there are no negative associations in their experience, there’s no fear. We’ve had cavities filled, teeth extracted, and of course basic cleanings. I feel like I’m treated as a part of the care team here.

Experiencia negativa: I guess I had an imaginary appointment! Let me explain. I scheduled an appointment for my child two months ago. When we arrived today, they told me there was no appointment in their system, and my child would not receive treatment. I had the appointment on my calendar for two months and even received a text confirmation four days prior, which I confirmed. When I showed them the confirmation, they said they didn’t know what happened and that their system showed I never had an appointment. I was completely shocked. What I experienced was terrible service — there was no acknowledgment of their mistake and no sincere apology. The only thing they offered was another appointment. I will be looking for a different provider. This was highly unprofessional. I am a full-time working parent, and wasting a parent’s time like this is completely unacceptable besides postponing treatment care.

We saw Mya she’s very quick & thorough. Dr. Pally was also very kind to my children. They are both very informative & good at their profession. 5 stars!

My daughter had a painful cavity and we live in yelm and I don't remember what day it was but all of the dental clinics were closed except for a few. They made an appointment for us for a few days later and took a wonderful care of my daughter.

The front desk employee was not very welcoming, the waiting room was uninviting, the office was dirty and the bathrooms were gross. Also mid cleaning the water stoped working the dental assistant made my son spit in a garbage can which seemed very unhygienic. The sinks were tapped off not sure if they were not working either. Over all it was an unpleasant experience

Experiencia negativa: We use to like this place but we had an appointment in December for all 3 kids and the office was closed after they called and reminded us about the appointment days before. It was no big deal, we waited for an hour and no one ever showed up. I get it mistakes happen. However I called them, left voicemails and emailed to reschedule the appointment no one ever called back, no one ever apologized for not showing up or being closed the day we had our appointment so we just had to find a new dentist. I called to get records transferred and the receptionist was not very friendly even after I explained what happened in December. No acknowledgment or concern.

Experiencia negativa: DO NOT COME HERE!!!!! They will not allow you to be in the back when ur my daughter is getting surgery. I WOULD NOT TRUST COMING HERE, they’re not a hospital. They’re a dental office!!!!!!!! They kicked me out when i asked To be back there. Because again DO NOT TRUST ANY DENTAL OFFICE!! Insane!!! To clarify she was getting simple CAPS put on her teeth!!!! Not even surgery. So yeah REALLY WEIRD!m and very suspicious! Do not trust them, would not even bother.

Experiencia fantástica: We missed our initial appointment, rescheduling was simple and quick. We were able to get a next day appointment. Check in was a breeze. The appointment was thorough, quick paced, the techs and dentist were efficient and gentle with my son. They gave him coins for the toy machine on the way out, a whale squeaky toy and the classic toothbrush + toothpaste + floss to go bag but catered to his current likes because he said Spiderman during the appointment. Love this place.

Experiencia fantástica: Harbor Kids Dental is an absolute life saver. My youngest is on the autism spectrum and at other dentists has simply been turned away when she wouldn't let them look in her mouth. The dentists and technicians at Harbor Kids sat down and talked to her and made her comfortable. Then once she was calm, she let them look in her mouth. Something she had never done before with any other dentist or even my wife and I. Having a trauma and neurodivergence informed care team makes a world of difference and the knowledge that she doesn't have cavities or the need for dental work has brought me a world of peace.

Experiencia negativa: On the orthodontist side they won’t return your calls or emails regarding your child’s braces it seems after your contract is paid off. They don’t have an orthodontist so my child’s braces will be on for about 6 months now with no check up on them

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter Olivia has been a patient since she was 3. She has no fears about coming to Harbor Kids and actually enjoys having her teeth cleaned. The staff and the dentists are all very friendly, calm and they treat everyone like family. I have referred many friends and family members to the clinic. We will continue coming here for years and years!

Experiencia fantástica: I have massive dental anxiety and this has trickles down to my children and me being on the ball about their dental health. This was my four and two year olds first visit and the dentist was SO KIND to my children and myself. The dental hygienist that did their initial exam and cleaning was just as kind, personable, and helpful. For two kiddos, under five, their initial appointment, we were in and out withing thirty minutes. I'm sure it varies upon need and behavior of children but the timeliness was so appreciated as I'm a mom to many so I always have a full plate. Thank you! This was an excellent experience and I will be getting my other kiddos in!

Experiencia negativa: Sedation recommended for my kid and we were put on an endless waitlist. They do not have anyone who can do sedation. Asked for a referral to an oral surgeon at the next cleaning and then they are like they want to try nitrous...I had asked 4 months ago if we could do that and the dentist never got back to me. If this next visit we don't get some actual treatment that results in addressing these issues it will be the final visit for my family and I will update this to zero stars. I have had better dental experiences elsewhere. This place is really unorganized.

Experiencia negativa: Don't know what happened to this place. The dentist here is garbage now. The young dentist that used to work here was a good dentist. My son broke half of his tooth off in a accident. Came here and the young man dentist did a great job out lasted what he said it was going to last and still didn't fall off just had a dent where the tooth was connected. So here we are with all 3 of my 04 06kids my oldest for a filling my middle to repair his front tooth and my youngest needed a cap fixed. Here I am less that 3 weeks later my oldest son filling fell completely out and off. My middle age has to deal with a uneven and bumpy tooth, and my daughter has to come back because her cap is really bothering her. So not only all this me and my oldest came in today 12/11/24 to get his filling fixed because it hurts. These damn people wanted to push this out about a week. I was not accepting it so instead of just doing the 10 to 15 min filling they kicked him out to waiting room for about 45 min to wait to do a damn filling. This will my last time to this dentist, or should I say hack job.

Experiencia negativa: Not confident in this dentist's ability to clearly communicate in English OR diagnose anything.Very rushed feeling.More of the flouride meant for an 18month olds teeth ended up on her gums/around her mouth instead of where it was meant to go.A one and done visit for us.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t take your kids here. This office is poorly run and staffed. There is a high turnover over of everyone - I’ve stuck it out for 7 years. Mostly because it’s hard to find a place with state insurance. They cancel appointments last minute or just pretend the appointment wasn’t on schedule despite the multiple text reminders confirming appointment. They are not equipped for kids with special needs & sensory issues. My child is autistic and has struggled every appointment because of how they run things. The receptionists aren’t very friendly, dental assistants are usually friendly, the dentists are most often short and judgmental. The wait times are often long after the appointment time. Waiting room is extremely small and the patient area is an open area with very little space.

Experiencia negativa: I'm here with my teenage daughter. I am not pleased with the "training" going on. The assistant couldn't figure out the air/water syringe. I helped her. I have 22 years experience as a dental assistant. She said she has no schooling but has her state registration. My concerns are the cross contamination that I witnessed and intercepted AND the lack of supervision. I asked for her "trainer" to pleases be present and train. I am not opposed to people learning, everyone has to learn somewhere. BUT! To have someone with zero knowledge sent in to work on live children without supervision or active training is unacceptable

Experiencia negativa: If I could give no stars I would. I just left this office and my son teeth aren't clean. I am an expanded function dental assistant so I know what clean teeth look like. I've worked in pediatric and general dentistry offices so I'm no fool, and I understand dental lingo. After discovering that my son teeth weren't clean (because I always check before I leave) I went back into the office. I talked to the young lady at the front, and the dental assistant happen to be walking by who supposedly cleaned my son teeth was totally and utterly clueless about my questions. (poor thing I actually felt bad for her) She told me she was not comfortable with scaling my sons teeth, and that she only polished his teeth. I said ok I understand that. Then I asked if the dentist did an exam she said yes and then I asked why didn't he scale? She said she didn't know why. As a assistant I know enough to know that after cleaning the dentist comes in to check the cleaning and the health of the teeth. He or she should also be checking to make sure the teeth ARE actually clean and if not remove whatever is left behind, at the very least in this case it wasn't touched at all so he should have removed it all. Coronal polishing only does but so much. It's the dental tools that actually remove hard calculus. No prophy or toothbrush is going to remove that kind of buildup. I asked the receptionist for the doc name and she handed me his card because at that moment the dental assistant told me all I needed to know. THERE ARE NO EXCUSES PERIOD!! This office is doing unethical practices and today I experienced dental negligence. Leaving visible calculus on anybody teeth is detrimental to their dental health. As dental health providers it is our job to educate the community about dental health not take advantage of them. If you're not up to the task or uncomfortable with doing it the correct way don't do it at all or go back to school and get further education to become the best at what you do but do it ethically and with pride. I will be reporting this today. That's a promise.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. Called to schedule an appointment for my toddlers first visit. They asked for my insurance info which I gave to them. They scheduled her about a month out, all of this leading up to the appointment was great. Fast forward to the date of the appointment. The receptionist had some issues because their normal receptionist was sick or something…okay? No back up receptionist incase of something like this? I found that odd but we eventually got it figured out. We then waited in their extremely small waiting room with about 4 other families. It was so packed people were waiting outside in the cold. Our appointment ran 30 mins past the initial time slot allotted. This wouldn’t be a big deal if I wasn’t trying to wrangle a cranky toddler in a full room of people. Eventually we got called back to the exam “space” …not a room, not even a closed off area, just a wide open space. Again I found it difficult to try and keep my toddler busy while waiting another 20 minutes for the dentist to come over. Her assistant did an initial work up and asked us if we had concerns etc, and she was very sweet and friendly. FINALLY dentist arrived and no joke took a 3 second peak inside my daughters mouth , said everything looked good and sent us in our marry way. Not going to lie I was quite irritated after waiting all that time. It was an exhausting experience. I think my absolute favorite part to top off the whole experience was when I was then charged $250+ dollars because the doc didn’t accept our insurance. WHY DID THEY SCHEDULE US WITH A DOC THAT DIDNT ACCEPT OUR INSURANCE. LIKE LITERALLY WHY DID SHE EVEN BOTHER TO GET OUR INFO BEFORE SCHEDULING IF SHE WASNT GOING TO USE IT TO SCHEDULE US WITH LITERALLY ANY OF THE OTHER DOCS IN THE BUILDING THAT ACCEPTED IT. Okay at that point we were pretty angry about it but accepted that we should have done our due diligence and verified the dentist took our insurance. We decided to give them a second chance and scheduled her next visit about 6 months out. Only for them to text me and tell me that they no longer did cleanings in Thursdays. THIS PLACE DOESNT KNOW HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS. Just out of the blue they decide not to do cleanings anymore even though they have tons of patients with scheduled visits on those days. Like WHAT? Idk I won’t be coming back here. Smiles 4 kids here we come.

Experiencia negativa: I have had nothing but issues with this place. They scheduled appointments but are usually running 30 mins to a hour late. They don't do well with kids with sensory issues. My son is on the higher spectrum of autism and gets over whelmed easily. They basically squeeze all the kids in 1 little room and have no remorse for kids who get overwhelmed. A quiet room for patients with disorders should be highly considered. Also when putting patients with disorders under general anthesisia they should schedule first thing in the morning. How am I suppose to tell a child with autism he can't have a drink after not having one for already 8 hours. I know pediatric dentist are hard to find at least decent one but please just make it a lil easier for the kiddos with disorders. Makes it easier on us parents.

Experiencia negativa: Truly a terribly run operation. They get 5 star reviews by offering your kids prizes if you log in to your gmail in front of them to give them 5 star reviews. They threaten to cancel your appointment if you don’t call to confirm the day before but I have 5 documented cases of them cancelling day of. Sometimes if you’re mad enough the doctors themselves will walk out of their patient’s rooms to hand you $5 gift cards to Starbucks… If you have non state insurance don’t go here. If you have state insurance have fun because they’re the only game in town and you’re gonna lose a few days wages taking off for them to probably cancel on you day of.

The staff if very friendly and patient with the kiddos. And very thorough with answering questions. I would 100% recommend harbor kids dental.

Experiencia negativa: cancelled on us 4 times. This last time they cancelled TWO minutes before the appointment. Unacceptable. Every single time it’s cus the “dentist called out”. Unfortunately one of the only places that takes Medicaid. It shows. The dentists we’ve seen in the past here are also not nice and act like they’ve never been around kids before. Save your time and energy and go to smiles 4 kids.

Understanding of late cancellations and very understand when running a tad late. All the staff is friendly and great with kids. They’ve never had work done yet as they have no cavities but they do great for their regular exams and cleanings. Definitely recommend this dental office for your kids. And so does my 6 year old Paisley.

Experiencia negativa: Leaving now that Dr. JASON is gone. Pediatric dentists should be more compassionate and caring and tend better to children than the woman they have in there now. The front office staff was kind and helpful throughout the years but unfortunately with the new dentist there, we won't be staying as patients.

They’re the perfect blend of caring and firm when it comes to exams and treatment. My son isn’t the easiest patient sometimes but they never lose their patience and give him the respect you don’t always see in this setting. They’re taking all the proper precautions during COVID-19.

Experiencia fantástica: Scheduling an appointment was super easy with their online option. When checking in they informed me there was an issue with my insurance, but worked an amazing deal for me to get my kiddo in, then provided me with the information needed to adjust the insurance. The staff was incredibly friendly and got the job done quickly and efficiently. I am so appreciative that my boys first dentist experience was so enjoyable. Thank you guys!

Experiencia negativa: They wanted to pull my sons front 4 teeth out saying they were unsavable. I went to a different highly recommended dentist in Tacoma. He fixed every tooth, and not one needed to be pulled.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is super great. They're so patient with kiddos that have disabilities and do whatever they can to make the child and parents comfortable. It's a small dental office so yes, do expect it to be a little crowded. Spots in here fill up fast. The dentist here is super knowledgeable too. I highly recommend parents to take their kids here.

Experiencia negativa: They wanted to pull my daughters front teeth out for money. She had a bruised tooth thats super old shes had it for years and he kept pushing to pull it. I researched the probability of it becoming abscess and it was a small chance that would happen. Jason Sholly isn't the goal to keep the teeth not take them out so just in case you dont have to work in her mouth again. Highly reccomend finding a dentist that cares about your kid and not the money m'kay.

Experiencia negativa: My son had an abscessed tooth and the infection was starting to go into his jaw. They told me they couldn’t get him in until April to have the tooth pulled. That would’ve been two months with an abscess! And they didn’t prescribe antibiotics. That didn’t sit right with me at all so I went and got a second opinion at a different dentist in Tacoma. The second opinion was 1) shocked they didn’t put him on antibiotics and 2) couldn’t imagine him going one more week with this infection let alone two months! They pulled his tooth today and put him on antibiotics. The front office staff was very helpful getting his medical records to the new dentist ASAP. They are truly the only reason I’m giving this place any stars at all. I’m not sure if insurance discrimination or what but I can’t believe they would’ve let my 7 year old go with an infection that long. At least highly urge me to go seek an office that can see him sooner! Something! Happy I trusted my gut and found him the help he needed.
