Experiencia negativa: My mom had a really frustrating experience here, mainly because of Maria at the front desk. Before the appointment, my mom called and confirmed her new dental insurance over the phone. She specifically asked them to verify everything beforehand and Maria confirmed it was fine. When my mom arrived for the appointment, the staff told her they were verifying the insurance and would begin shortly. They then proceeded with the teeth cleaning, which made it seem like everything had been properly verified and approved. Later on, my mom received a bill in the mail saying the insurance didn’t cover the visit. After calling to ask what happened, it turned out Maria had been looking at my mom’s old health insurance from over a decade ago instead of the new insurance she provided. Because of this mistake, my mom ended up having to pay out of pocket. To make matters worse, when my mom tried calling to resolve the issue, Maria was rude on the phone and hung up multiple times, saying she would call back but never followed up. It’s really frustrating when you go out of your way to verify insurance ahead of time and even hear them say they’re verifying it when you arrive, only to be billed later because of someone else’s mistake — and then be treated poorly when trying to resolve it.

My teeth felt squeaking clean! You could really tell the team really cares about the health of your teeth and they made sure I didn't have any questions. 10/10 would recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: My old dentist retired, so I have to search for another dentist. I looked through YELP and saw Calvine Family Dental. I thought to myself, well, it’s only half a block away from my house, great, let’s give it a shot and see. So, made an appointment and got one real quick, the lady on the phone was very nice and pleasant. On the day of the appointment I was greeted at the door by a very nice front of door staff, after a little while, Dr. Ricardo came out and we all had a very pleasant joking session. They took me in and Put me in a dental chair. I was getting a whole new set of denture replacement and the whole procedure was very easy and pleasant. I guess I found my new dentist. Loved this place, friendly staff, great and caring doctors. You should try it!

Experiencia negativa: Very poor service. They are not able to keep scheduled appointments. They kept me waiting in lobby and I asked what's the delay for and one of the staff was rude in answering that. She said doctor is running behind and in a very unprofessional tone she said "so you want to be seen or not". I walk to the procedure room and on my way I see the doctor performing a procedure on someone. Basically this place has rude staff and they are not able to honor the scheduled time for appointments.

He is very thorough and really cares about his patients. Calvine Family Dental is the best in Sacramento. Yelena, the hygienist has the lightest hands. She’s very nice.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent facility. Everything from treatment, to maintenance, to billing was well explained by the excellent staff. Facility is up-to-date with technology. Dentist, hygienist, and assistants were exemplary with their care. I never had any concerns. The only complaint that I have is they have no place to hang jackets in the various treatment rooms, so you might want to leave the accessories in the car!

Experiencia negativa: Not sure what has happened lately, but the staff at this location have become quite rude and all about the $. I understand it is a business, but that should not be at the compromise of patient comfort, satisfaction, and service. My wife has been having severe tooth pain on work that was done (by their referral), and all she is being told is to wait a week for an appointment while taking OTC meds. It would have been great if our primary dentist would have taken the time out to see their patient when needed urgently. It may be time to change providers.

Each time I paid for co pay and the front desk was not pleasant when it came to ask if I need to pay anything for next visit. She would say no. It turned out I had to pay every time. I stopped going there because each time they only do consultant, and the dentist took couple minutes talk and tried to sell product more than a treatment. After one year they send me a bill to pay. Your business is dental which mean there should be ethical on your practice not just money.

Experiencia negativa: I am honestly very very confused on how this office has good reviews. I came in for the first time and it’s very small and outdated. The lady at the front desk was very unfriendly. Shortly after my 1st visit I broke my tooth. I called their emergency number twice and left voicemails with no return call. I also was told their crowns cost $1500 when the office down the street for the same crown costs $1300. I contacted the office to make an appointment on two different days and no one picked up or returned my calls until I had to try for a third day and finally someone answered very passive aggressively saying we don’t have a receptionist and I am taking care of clients. That’s not my fault. I came in today for an implant. She told me $1267. I asked her since my family doesn’t just have an extra $1267 sitting around if I could do carecredit or make payments and she said no I would need to pay it all in full. How come that wasn’t mentioned before? I asked how in this economy could people afford to get dental work and she laughed and said cash or put it on your own credit card. I would NOT recommend this office.

I had a dental implant placed 2 decades ago come to think of it, it might be older than him. When he saw my implant im sure it came to a surprise to him that he never seen it before sure enough with his quick thinking he reached out to his colleagues and got more information about it and was able to work with it and placing a new crown over it and fix my issue with why it was hurting. Bc i myself know i do not want to walk around toothless. His staff members are so friendly and the environment is very family friendly. I would highly recommend this dental office to anyone that is looking for a new dentist.

Experiencia negativa: I previously posted a great review however after going to this dentist for one year, my experience has changed from positive to negative. They tend to charge for treatments that I never authorized from time to time and the manager never attempted to call me back after I provided them detailed notes on the amount they owed me as I overpaid due to their estimate and my dental insurance paid them as well so in other words they got double paid. I have stopped going to them as I no longer trust them and they refuse to cooperate with their customers. I don’t recommend them. Should you still choose to stay with them, I would encourage to pay attention to their billing and insurance claims.
