Experiencia negativa: I’ve never heard of a dental office charging cancellation fees. We have a Monday appointment and they want you to call within 48 hours clearly they’re closed on the weekend and how would we know that we weren’t going to be able to make it on Monday by Friday things come up and to charge a $75 fee is ridiculous like they don’t make millions of dollars. Front desk is rude to I’ve never dealt with this before at any dental office we will definitely never return. On top of that, my husband’s fillings were not done correctly. He can’t eat on the side that they were done so we have to go for them to fix it.

So many bad things happened to me at other places so I have so much anxiety but Dr Redford was so nice. I truly love this office. The staff were all very pleasant and this helped with my anxiety. When you find an office that gives you hope after years of crying and trauma, you stick with them and sing their praises so that everyone might be afforded the care I did, I am blessed to have an amazing dentist and office now.

Experiencia negativa: Under no circumstances go to this clinic!!!!! I had dental work done there, and so did my spouse! They only want your money! All the crowns were placed incorrectly, they don’t fit properly against the gum tissues. My spouse developed infections in two teeth after root canal treatment. Run away from there, they are not professionals, especially the Spanish-speaking woman at the reception—she is rude and lacks respect and customer orientation. The dentist, who was more of an assistant, placed my crowns, and everything has been painful for two years, it even smells! Run away from there. I went there thinking they knew what they were doing and that the insurance would oversee things, but it seems they don’t care either. If you want to save your teeth, get treated abroad.

My hygienists, Julie and Tori, are absolute stars; always gentle, thorough, and so genuinely kind that they actually make cleanings something to look forward to. Dr. Smiley lives up to his name every single visit. Not only is he an amazing dentist who explains everything clearly and makes you feel completely at ease… he’s also pretty cute, which I’m convinced helps with pain management. The front desk dream team: Emma, Karen, and Jillian; always greets me with warmth, professionalism, and a smile (possibly inspired by Dr. Smiley’s? ). They go above and beyond to make scheduling, reminders, and check-in smooth and stress-free. And truly, the entire team deserves recognition. Every person here is friendly, helpful, and committed to creating a positive experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this dental office (Redford Smiles), they make dentistry feel like visiting a group of friends who just happen to take excellent care of your teeth!

Experiencia positiva: Not sure what to rate really. I had a tremendous amount of anxiety (embarrassed)due to not seeing a dentist in 10 yrs ! Finally I got the courage to move forward so I can smile again I have a lot to smile about but don’t do to the neglect. Can’t remember the women’s name who greeted me up Front but she was so kind & comforting by nature. Then the dental hygienist Tori was also very educated, compassionate & showed no judgment. Then came Dr Redford & he truly was a kind man & explained my options in detail before sending me to the front desk so they could show me the costs & available payment options available for each procedure in order to make my decision which way I wanted to proceed. It was a rough start but I was so hopeful & looking forward to the day I could smile again. Huge let down the women told me medical only pays for a portion of the extracts & does NOT cover dentures at all! $5000 for dentures or $35,000 for implants both of which must be paid in full before the start of treatment. This lady was very cold & short with her above statement. I was in tears & still am. If I had that kind of cash I wouldn’t be using medical to begin with. If I could afford to smile again I would choose Dr Redford & his compassionate staff. Sadly I can not. A person only deserves what money can buy.

Experiencia fantástica: Broke a tooth and needed a crown. They got me in pretty quickly. Dr Redford was great- friendly and efficient. Crown technician was skilled and friendly. Took awhile to get the temporary crown to fit. But it seems fine. Waiting for permanent one in a couple weeks.

Experiencia positiva: Only had one appointment here so far but the dental team seems super nice and knowledgeable. I had some fillings done that have caused me more pain than when I had cavities!! And they agreed they were not great and will be redoing them. They gave me information on other teeth that I didn't know about and wish i had known sooner. Only downside is that the wait times for dental work appointments seem to be quite booked. Soonest was two weeks which is a good deal of time to continue having pain drinking water and eating basically any food. I would rather get them redone properly though.

Experiencia negativa: Their billing practices are monstrous. After every visit, they send aggressive bills when payment had been settled at the visit. I was going to be 20 minutes late for an appointment, they told me not to come, and billed me $75. Lots of stories like this on Yelp. They hit up all their customers for google reviews so these ones are inflated. It's too bad because their dental hygienists are amazing and the dentists are nice.

What I will say, is I hoped to get in to this practice. I did. The staff from the front to the back are awesomesauce!. So professional and friendly. Experiencia negativa: I have Advised this dentist office many times in the past that i am on Medi-Cal and will not want any work done that is charged. While they continue to want to do services then say its $50, its $100 etc. Then you as a patient get irritated because the work cant be done because the charge wasnt discussed previously to the appt…… I cant AFFORD it!!!!! Then “EMMA” wants to try to threaten a cancellation fee$. If I dont have a $100 for a cleaning… you know what you can do with your cancellation fee?!??? What about when you have an appointment scheduled and your office calls the patient to reschedule….. Do we the patient get to charge you a fee?!!…. Because that has happened many times. The dentist and assistants are great. Front office just made my decision to find a new dentist-

My previous dentist had a consultation in less than 5min, vs Dr Redford that took time to speak to me about things and explain things thoroughly. Dentist tried to say that it did not happen. Also could not get a good bite and ultimately I ended up leaving because the dentist was annoyed that I was asking for it to be fixed so now I get to go back

Experiencia negativa: Dr. Redford has been my dentist since he took over the practice on Scripps Drive. I have always had a good experience. However, not on my last appointment. The office person that checked me in and I had miss understanding on the type of cleaning I was to have. She informed me that I was having a deep cleaning, not a regular cleaning that my Dental Plan covers. She said she would cancel this appointment. I said you don't have to that because I need my teeth cleaned. To get further clarification I asked to speak to Dr. Redford. She said that I can't speak to him now and asked for me to leave her office. I turned around started down the hallway to look for the Dr. At this point she must have gotten Dr. Redmond as he appeared behind me. He explained that he had put me on a deep cleaning schedule due to my parodontids condition. I said I had never been told that. Knowing that now I'm fine with that. Experiencia negativa: I went for my first appointment yesterday and they gave me this big long list of things I need to get done to my teeth and I couldn't afford it it cost $5,000 so she recommended three different places that are cheaper and I need an antibiotic prescription but I didn't get that because she got the name of the pharmacy wrong and now it's Friday and I can't get it thanks

Only issue was after reviewing my insurance coverage the estimated cost out of pocket was about 2-3x what my insurance covered. So either the cost for dental care is way over priced or I need a different dental plan! Expect I will shop around before I come back. Don't know many people who can afford $17-1800 for dental care.

She made my perio maintenance experience so painless and I no longer have fear of going to the dentist anymore. I now am off perio maintenance after almost 10 years and I firmly believe it was 90% because of Julie. The other 10% was me brushing and flossing per her orders . Dr. Redford is kind and very communicative - he gives great information and always make sure you walk away knowing your options. I can’t say nicer things about this office.
