Experiencia negativa: Absolutely the worst dental office! No professionalism, ridiculous appointment wait times. Lied and said we've missed appts even though I've taken her every single time and this mama is never late for anything. Don't waste your time. If I could give less then 1 star, I definitely would.

Experiencia negativa: I originally wrote a positive review for Better Smile. My overall experiences were good. The front desk staff are very friendly and professional. The reason I have changed my review is because of my last visit. I have had a bothersome tooth for years, an it had become infected. I went in there asking if they would pull it. She debated on it anni said that it has been hurting on and off for years and I was planning on having all my teeth out in the near future anyway. She asked why. One look at how bad my teeth are should have been enough information. Then she hurriedly started tapping on all of my teeth. It hurt. Then she told her assistant three tooth numbers that needed to come out, not even explaining which ones. Her entire attitude was bad and I felt like I was an interruption to her day. All I wanted was to have my tooth cared for. I wasn't upset at first, but I started thinking about how rude she was later that day. She was less than half my age and talking down to me. The next day, another tooth cracked. I went to another dentist and he agreed that my teeth were in extremely poor condition except for maybe 6 of them on the front bottom. AND he actually listened to my concerns and answer questions calmly. I am on day 5 of my extractions and I can honestly say I feel so much better knowing I won't have the horrible pains I had in the past and that I have a wonderful dentist now. The entire 16 extractions, partial, full plate, all my visits for the next year and the final dentures came to 7500.00. Two months ago Better Smile charged my husband 7000.00 for one tooth pulled and a partial. Wth?! Better Smile, you are only as good as your worst dentist. It just takes one dentist with an attitude to ruin the trust that the others in your office had built.

Experiencia negativa: About ten minutes ago I called this office to schedule a new patient or emergency appointment for my daughter, who has a tooth that became sharp and is cutting into her tongue. I asked about getting her in the office tomorrow. The receptionist's deadpan response (in contrary to the "Emergency services" their own office lists on this very Google profile page): "We're not doin' any emergency appointments, ma'am." Click. Be better. I even pushed "6" for New Patient... because my kid *was* about to be a new patient. Not any more.

Experiencia positiva: first time at 1520 sheridan location, the staff was very nice and professional, I had problems with my teeth including broken and cracked tooth , it was painful but my hygienist was understandable, gave norvacaine jell form to numb my gums ,was very attentive and concerned, very informative on every step done, I met a dentist young lady explained my situation and options, I have a follow up appt ,waiting for their call after insurance information is returned from carrier, office is very clean, will see them again. for a further cleaning and then procedure to follow on broken tooth , was recommended to keep taking advil for pain, until my next appt, i will be happy to have my teeth repaired to normal.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve never been a patient with this dental office but I called today to see about getting an appointment to remove my wisdom teeth because the pain is just unbearable and the lady that answered was incredibly rude, literally yelled “WE DONT DO EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS” i simply tell her i wasn’t calling for an emergency appointment i was calling to make a regular appointment, she then scoffs into the phone and hangs up not even an i’m sorry let’s schedule you an appointment no have a nice day just scoff and hang up. The call literally lasted a minute. SHAME ON YOU BETTER SMILE! All I wanted to do was set up an appointment to get my wisdom teeth out so I can actually eat my food and actually sleep at night.

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a patient at Better Smile since I left my pediatric office. The administrative staff are welcoming and kind, and are always ready to assist you. Cassie was my most recent hygienist and she is wonderful as well! She is friendly and efficient. I am usually in and out in roughly an hour or less. Their new office on Sheridan Dr. is so much bigger than their old Harlem location - and is beautifully updated as well. I highly recommend Better Smile for your dental needs.

Experiencia fantástica: The best dental office I have ever went to hands down, the check in process is easy. I was a new patient looking for an appointment to get my crown extracted because I had such a bad infection and I became a new patient 8/12. I got my scans and my cleaning done and got my treatment plan and started my extraction on 8/13 and will have a dental implant consult on 8/18. Within a span of a week I got most of the things I needed done on my teeth which was fantastic ❤️. What most dental offices take a few months to a year to do this office did it for me within the week. I feel very grateful to have found this place and will continue to come here for care. As an update I finally finished my dental implant process on 3/17. I finally have all my issues solved and now come for cleanings.

Experiencia negativa: WORST!! For 2 months I've called to see if my insurance was going to cover my dentures. They kept telling me I t was my responsibility to call and ask. When I did, insurance said they never submitted it. Insurance told me they couldn't talk to me that they could only talk to the dentist. When I called the dentist back to ask about that, they told me they couldn't do t h at, they are to busy with patients. They don't even fix a chipped tooth. They send you to a different dentist, so they charge for you to open your mouth? Don't go!!!!!

Experiencia negativa: I was at a dentist appointment earlier today I had an appointment around 11am. I also have a one year old son that’s a normal child . Today I experienced my son experienced being racially profiled.. my son was running around like a normal 1 year old. When I was confronted by a lady asking me to keep it down . I replied saying sorry I don’t know how to calm down a baby clapping and counting to 5. He’s just enjoying himself being a baby . That’s when she replied well you need to learn how to control “ it “ I asked her what did she mean by calling my baby “it “ that’s when I asked her if she was a racist. She turned her back on me and went back to her desk way in the back… I had another person approach me this guy was the director of the office / he came to me telling me i needed to leave not knowing what just transpired. I briefly informed this man of what went on he didn’t want to hear me out/ I was told I’d be blacklisted and can’t come back to the dentist / I’ve been waiting 3 months to get some help on getting a wisdom tooth removed. I’ve had countless nights in pain. Now I can’t get the help I need because I spoke up for not only my child but for us as human beings !! It’s sad that in this world people only see one face … I believe in one race that’s the human race… I wasn’t raised to not like anyone… it just saddens me because when this man was speaking to me of other color … my son was looking up at him and squeezed my hand. My baby didn’t do anything wrong but be a child This is better smile the Sheridan dr location in Buffalo … I asked for names and they are coverning up for each other and wouldn’t tell me anything. please don’t do business with these people they aren’t for us … and we shouldn’t be supporting this we need better we need equality. Fail to follow-up with insurance regarding quotes and no apologies. They behave as if they are doing people a favor by accepting patients. Very Rude and Unprofessional to say the least!!

They never answer their phones literally, I spent multiple attempts trying to reach them to reschedule an appointment, and no one picked up. To make matters worse, I was discharged from their care without any notice simply because I missed one appointment. This is absurd considering I was actively trying to communicate with them.‼️‼️ Their lack of communication and complete disregard for patients is shocking. If you value being treated with basic professionalism, stay far away from this office.

Experiencia negativa: I went to this location with my boyfriend and the doctor was extremely rude. The hygienist was so nice and kind, I have social anxiety and mental health issues so I have a hard time drinking water and the hygienist knew that and when the doctor came in she was absolutely rude telling me I need to drink more water scoffing and talking about me when she walks away. Later on I never went back for my check up as they were trying to set me up for a 2 step clean that involved needles, something I’m also iffy about. And instead of calling asking me if my last appt went well or if I had issues as to why I couldn’t come in or anything. A simple phone call. Nothing. Instead I get a paper saying I’m not allowed at their practice again. You best believe I’m not coming back. Totally unprofessional and if you have issues with the dentist already, mental health issues, I don’t recommend this location. They will just laugh at you.

Experiencia negativa: I went here because I fell and broke my front tooth and the rest of my front teeth have shifted and I am in pain and my whole front upper teeth needed some care. Firstly they wouldn't set me up an emergency appointment . They said I had to have a cleaning even though I was in such pain with these broken teeth. Because I was in such pain I agreed to it. So in pain I went through the cleaning and the person who did the cleaning was very gentle and did not understand why I was having a cleaning either if I have all these problems. Then the dentist came and examined me and refused to acknowledge my broken tooth. The dentist refused to remove my broken tooth. Saying it wasn't a concern to her. As a matter of a fact I pleaded with her to remove the broken tooth. She told me she would ask the insurance if they would cover the extraction and I agrees to leave. It was two weeks later when better smile called me and told me that the my insurance denied replacing crowns on my back teeth. And that it would be 2500 to replace my back teeth. Once again I pleaded to have the broken tooth removed. The lady on the phone said that I don't have a broken tooth to be removed. And I said I have a broken tooth that's what they were supposed to send to the insurance when I came in in June yet here it is almost the end of July and I'm still waiting to get this broken tooth removed out of my mouth and she says well the only thing I can do is set you up with another appointment and I said I was already there asking for my tooth to be removed I don't need another appointment I need an appointment to have my tooth removed and she said no you don't so I can set up a new appointment for you to have an exam so I asked if I could see another dentist and she said I'll be seeing the same dentist who wouldn't listen to me the first time I reluctantly set up the appointment. But I called and canceled it because how can I get through to the same person who refused to listen to me the first time. Now I have a huge infared abscess and no dentist to help me here. And all the dentist that take my insurance besides this one is not accepting new patients. And now I don't even know what to do. This was the first time I went here but I decided not to go back I feel that this is a pretty serious thing that I come in there because I had an injury and one of my teeth broke and I was told it wasn't a concern that I have a broken tooth maybe they thought it was not enough money for them or maybe they thought I should walk around with a broken tooth in the front of my mouth because I was on Medicaid Fidelis Care I'm not really sure but I really feel hurt and embarrassed for even showing up here

Experiencia fantástica: I would highly recommend Better Smiles with Dr. Riad in the Tonawanda office. He was so super sweet, understanding of I have a fear of dentist. He explained everything he was doing. I also want to say he has a great sense of humor. I love how they make my crown there. This was just couple of hours appointment. One and done. The staff are really friendly also. Thank you all for making me feel really relaxed!

Experiencia negativa: BE AWARE THEY will move appointment time on same day with out a call to approve the change!! I have always scheduled my appointment after 5pm due to my and husband work schedule. Back in December 2024 we scheduled our 6month cleaning for June 4,2025 at 5:10pm (I have numerous text reminders). So as it gets sooner I get reminded again on Sunday June 1 that we are scheduled for Wed June 4@ 5:10pm. So, we show up at 5:15pm 5 minutes late and they tell us we can’t be seen because our appointment was for 5pm!!! Excuse me my appointment was for 5:10pm. I work in medical field I seen it all. The receptionist goes to the back and ask the technician and they obviously want to leave work early so they say NO and come back to the front with sorry we have to r/s. I bet if the provider or CEO was there that would have never happened. I have proof my appointment was 5:10pm and they have the audacity to move my appointment to 5pm with out giving me a call to tell me my appointment was moved to 5pm. I showed manager my phone with proof she didn’t care. I’m sure they will see this review and do better. Other than that I will look for new dentist office.

I didn't feel like I was discriminated upon because I have Medicaid and Independent Health insurance. Normally I am a little nervous & afraid to go to the dentist but I felt very comfortable with my dental hygienist and the dentist. I feel reassured for any future dental work that I have to get. I can assure that you're in good hands if you go here and it's well worth it. God bless these people.

Experiencia fantástica: What an amazing experience I had with Dr. Brent Popovich. I had been having severe pain in my tooth and knew that it probably needed a root canal but my dentist was on vacation. They referred me to Better Smile and Dr. Brent Popovich. Of course I was a bit nervous so I looked him up on Google and he had raving Reviews. Well from my experience they were absolutely correct. I went into the office on February 20th, 2025. I was met by Kevin who led me in, explained how everything was going to go and took the x-rays for the doctor. He was so calming and kind, which made me feel very relaxed from the start. Dr. Popovich came in and I felt exactly the same way. He explained everything to me from what they found and I had to make the decision of whether I wanted to have a root canal and crown done or have the tooth pulled. I made the decision to have it pulled because it was a molar on the bottom back left of my jaw. I went back on Wednesday, February 26th and had the tooth extracted by Dr. Popovich. Kevin again came in and explained everything to me and made me feel very comfortable. Dr. Popovich came in and explained everything again to me. I did not even feel the novocaine shot, which is the part that usually unnerves me the most. Dr. Popovich was absolutely fantastic, very gentle and calming as well. I felt barely any pain whatsoever when he was pulling that tooth. Throughout the appointment he continued to ask me if I was feeling okay and explained everything as he went along. I have to be honest, I've had four teeth pulled in the last 6 years and never have had such a great experience for something you absolutely would not look forward to. They told me about adding tea bags to the area of the extraction to help prevent a dry socket. In the past my mouth has been sore for days and this is day two and I am in no pain whatsoever and it is healing so well. The staff was wonderful as well, Even calling me today to see how I am feeling. Going to a dentist is never that easy, but this truly made all the difference in the world for me. Thank you so much Dr. Popovich and Kevin. See you in May for my cleaning.

Experiencia negativa: Poorly run and unprofessional dental office. I called to have an appointment scheduled and even had X-rays sent over. I scheduled an appointment and was all set. Then someone different who was not on the same page called me back and said I was dropped from the dental office 4 years ago and that they were canceling my appointment. Nothing but horrible reviews on here. Avoid the dental office.

She also did a very poor filing that left me in perpetual pain and l wound up having to have it extracted. Dr Riad literally described her efforts on my behalf as "heroic". Save yourself the trouble and go some place else

They gave me the new patient paperwork to fill out and I honestly could not read it because it was copied over SOOOOOO many times!!!!!! So I went back up to the corner to ask for new papers that had better ink and the receptionist told me that “I don’t have an hour to be able to read it to you” as It I was uneducated and can’t read it as if she was better then somebody!!!!!!!!!! All I needed was a piece of paper either readable ink!!!!!!!!! I then filled out my paper work the best I could of what I could read and then they had a different receptionist call me up and she said “well our other receptionist things you are on some kind of drug/substance so we won’t be able to take you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But when I was looking around for the female who tried to discrimate and insult my intelligence, she was NO WHERE TO BE FOUND! Had somebody else do her dirty work because she knew she was LYING!!!! ! ALL BEHIND A PIECE OF PAPER THAT she couldn’t even read with HER own glasses ONNNNNN!!!!!! Terrible experience!!!!!!!!!! 0/10

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: 11/4/24 Now that they have moved and expanded, quality and patient care has gone way down! I have been waiting and waiting for months now for a call back regarding dental work I need done that requires approval from my insurance company. I have even left several voicemails (because you cant get through to someone when you call) with no return phone call. They simply no longer care! I had my first appointment there this evening and I am so happy I chose to go with Better Smile! It was a breath of fresh air compared to other dentists I've seen and experiences I've had. I am one who hates/fears dentist appointments so needless to say I was nervous from the start. Lorraine was my hygienist and she put my fears to bed! She was so nice and gentle and kept me comfortable and informed every step of the way. That was by far my best dental visit and I highly recommend this office especially if you are someone like me, they dont disappoint!!

Experiencia negativa: Leaving my first review ever- unfortunate it’s for a bad review. My girlfriend had a filling done by this office that then came out the day of. Being in pain from a filling done incorrectly only to come out a few hours after the procedure, they rescheduled with her. She was scheduled to be there at 4:00 pm on a Tuesday. She arrived at 3:50 and was left sitting in the waiting room until 4:20. She decides to ask the receptionist if she would be soon be seen. The receptionist went back to ask, and clear as day the dentist could be heard saying she was leaving because she “had a long day.” The receptionist comes out and tells my girlfriend that the dentist was leaving due to an “emergency”. Good to know this “professional practice” considers long days emergencies, and have no problem scheduling people and wasting the time of patients. Or maybe that’s just how they treat college student’s temporarily on medicaid. Do not use them.

I answered the phone from this place and the receptionist was in the middle of a snarky comment to her coworker that she wishes people would answer the phone. Then, when I came in I had somebody so agitated and rude in charge of my cleaning. I had a hesitation about getting more X-rays because I got them last visit (isn’t it once a year? Did they know I got them 6 months ago since they just moved buildings?). She took my concerns as a personal attack on her, and for the rest of the visit was passive aggressive against me. “This guy is dying to get to his cleaning,” she said to a coworker. She got mad at one point and snapped “Is that as wide as your mouth can open?” I caught glimpses of other people, too. It felt like the whole office was full of entitled, complaining and self-serving fake professionals that day. I’ve had good experiences in the past here with different people, but what I saw this visit made me never want to come back. You can’t ever allow your office to become like this. Someone needs to do something.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible owner, clearly not concerned with actual patients who need help. If you have had dental complications DO NOT go here: After speaking to the amazing secretary, I had tremendous hope for coming back to this clinic. I thought because it was in network I would be able to save some money and also get any type of support I needed after having pretty terrible experiences with other dentists in the area. After making the mistake of being honest and disclosing the complications that I had with my dental history, I explained that I definitely went through having an infection as about of clindamycin helped with the pain, and believe that I need to have a filling replaced. I also asked for him to look to see if there's an additional cavity. He stated that unless he sees something on the X-ray he would do nothing for me, and that there was nothing he could do if he didn't see anything in an X-ray. It's boggling how the owner of a dental clinic could be so out of touch with a patient that when they come in with pain asking to have a filling replaced he thinks he knows more about the person's pain and their body than they do... I'm 45 years old and I'm pretty sure I know pain when I have it and I also know what it's like to need to have a tooth removed. I immediately said I felt uncomfortable and got up and left after him saying what he said. Right after thanking the secretary- who was very kind, but ill-informed about her boss I called Dr Shannon McCarthy to see if she could squeeze me in. I honestly think she's the only dentist in the area who cares about patients' well-being.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm very pleased with Better Smile! I've had soo many bad experiences with dental offices. I was greeted genuinely by the very first receptionist who was quick to check me in. I was 40 minutes early for my appt and they accepted me right away! My hygienist, Debbie, was outstanding! She was so informative and compassionate about her career. I had so many questions and she politely answered them with ease and not frustration for interrupting my cleaning. I truly felt like she cared! I could've hung out with her all day in that chair and had a blast! I'm extremely satisfied with this new office and their high tech bathroom amenities! I've never had such a pleasure going to the dentist. I hope Debbie never retires bc we need Debbie's everywhere in life! 10 stars!

Experiencia fantástica: I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Monica Ghobrial last month before she did the dental work that was required. She is very personable and friendly and let’s you know each step of the way the work that she will be completing .I was unable to get the work done at my initial meeting with her because I had a mild heart attack prior to this visit.. I met with her again today to complete a crown. I needed on Tooth number 30! I know the Crown required some drilling and I was a little Fearful at first. Dr. Ghobrial Has gentle hands! You can tell she is a perfectionist and knows her job very well! The drilling wasn’t bad at all however, my teeth have become sensitive to cold now, but she figured out a way to accommodate me with that issue as well! I am very satisfied with the whole procedure and with her! I will highly recommend her to do whatever work you need to be done with your teeth! Thank you, Dr. GHOBRIAL..

Experiencia negativa: I'm writing the review for the old Harlem Rd location which now is on 1520 Sheridan Rd the receptionist Michele is rude and called me to tell me the office would not want to see me anymore due to a conflict of interest I made a grievance on the Harlem location office because my temporary partial until I can afford to get my teeth implants are not the flexible kind they are very hard plastic and extremely painful I told the dentist I would like the flexible ones and on the complaint notice the staff at Better Smiles said they gave me flexible ones which is a total lie instead of the dentist contacting me wanting to work on a solution Michele contacted me Michele can be extremely rude at times and as a receptionist she should stay in her place instead of acting like a dentist and being rude to clients

Experiencia negativa: The dentist was great when I went in for my initial visit, and I made subsequent appointments to get my teeth cleaned and filled. I also need dentures so there’s extensive work to be done. However, My girlfriend’s Mother was hospitalized in hospice care and subsequently died, and my girlfriend was a mess. I couldn’t leave her for over a week, and had to cancel the subsequent appointments the morning of the appointments, once I realized that she wasn’t in a good enough place to be left alone. I received a letter from the dentistry stating that I was discharged as a patient a week or so later. I went in to the office and spoke with a middle aged woman (I assume to be the Office Manager) who didn’t even finish typing in my name before she was telling me that I wouldn’t be reinstated, in a very nasty tone. I tried to explain the situation, to no avail. She dismissed me and that was that. No compassion, nothing. I feel that this was very unfair, and I had planned to apologize to the dentist for missing my appointment, but I never saw him again. Would I go back to them? Yes, bacause aside from the middle aged woman, I was treated nicely, the facilty etc was nicely appointed, and the staff was professional.

Experiencia negativa: Not accommodating to someone who needs accommodations for neurodivergency. Receptionist was rude and unkind. If you're looking for a dentist that views you as a human and not just a dollar sign, this isn't the place. I'll never return. I am also a small business owner and would never treat my clients this way. Do better.

Experiencia negativa: Paid almost 3k at the time of service for my mother for a crown and root canal. Almost two months later I recieve a bill for 345 dollars extra. I am not paying a single penny. I paid in full at the time of service and was unaware of any additional charges. This seems like a rip off

My fiance has requested basic cleanings as well as care and has gotten the run around by said phone operator. I am a veteran and suggested my finace to said establishment and she was better off having me pull the tooth in question. SMH

Experiencia positiva: I am not one to go to the dentist regularly due to what I know is an irrational fear, but still the anxiety keeps me away. I had a wisdom tooth that broke and was incredibly painful. I dealt with the pain all weekend and contacted Better Smile on Monday morning. They were able to get me in at 3 pm the same day. Upon walking in I was immediately greeted and checked in. Usually you can count on sitting in the waiting room at the dentist office for a considerable amount of time, and for someone like me the anxiety hits hard at that time, fast heart beats, trembling and nausea. However, I was pleasantly surprised by being called back within minutes! I had xrays and a tooth extracted and was home 45 minutes later. I was so happy with how fast they were able to get everything done I even made an appointment to get my teeth cleaned....stay tuned for those results.

I had a filling fall out from a previous job from years prior and was having issues getting into a dentist that took my insurance and this office was so kind and not only took my strange insurance, they were able to give me the most informative info on the type of insurance coverage I had, was able to get me in quickly, helped me with my dental anxiety, and every staff member was so kind. They were recommended to me by my good friend and I will be continuing to recommend them to all my friends! I live in Niagara Falls and they are worth the drive!

This being my return to a Dentist's office in quite some time I had my concerns or nervous energy rather. However I was well taken care of by Dr.Brent and his staff. The overall procedure went without a hitch and I was out the door. My barber had also spoken highly of Better Smile prior to my arrival and she was right, great place good people.

They didn't dig in my gums AT ALL, explained reasoning behind bleeding gums instead of just telling me it's been my fault, super gentle.
