Dr. Lobar is very thorough and gentle, especially since I have sensitive gums. He noticed my gum issues during a cleaning and brought in Dr. Halthore to discuss the treatment plan. After five months, my gums have improved significantly. I really appreciate that Dr. Halthore checks on my progress during visits. The front desk staff, especially Jennifer, are always welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend!

Scheduling was easy, the intake forms were straightforward, and everyone I interacted with was kind, patient, and genuinely welcoming. The staff clearly takes customer service seriously, and it really shows. My consultation and scaling were thorough but never rushed, and everything was explained in a clear way. Shreya, especially, was amazing. She was super gentle, very thorough, and took the time to walk me through my symptoms step by step while sharing helpful tips I can actually use. She made the whole appointment and procedure feel comfortable and stress-free. I absolutely hate going to the dentist (the smell, the drilling sound, etc.), but Shreya made it so pleasant. Highly recommend.

Dr. Halthore was AMAZING! She explained everything clearly, and prescribed antibiotics without making me feel rushed or dismissed. The whole experience was a relief and I felt genuinely cared for. Experiencia negativa: The owner is very rude and nasty. She talks down to any and everyone. Her staff is very impatient when performing any type of work which is scary because your mouth is very delicate and not something to mess up on. I had a filling and she was so impatient with me rolling her eyes because I gaged that she said oh well if I do a bad job you’ll just come in for a root canal. Why should I need a root canal because you’re overwhelmed, unqualified, and unprofessional. My 11 year old, they suggested he needed a root canal. He didn’t and they gave him one anyway and the work left him in pain and undone. The first office had so much mold they eventually moved next store. They are also very dirty and even if you make an apt and you’re on time they will make you wait an extra hour and don’t like to tell you about the free parking in the back.

Experiencia negativa: Went there for a cavity filling which was done by Dr Gupta. The filling came off in 3 months leading to severe pain. I went back to them and they said that they would do the filling again. When I went back, the dentists blamed the previous dentist and said she was not great. After 3 months, the filling fell off again so I had to go to a different clinic to get it fixed. When I called Grove dental to complain, the receptionist laughed at my face and said they cannot do anything about this and I should have come back to them. I would avoid this place for any dental services.

Left with a surprise bonus—my crowned tooth was briefly evicted without notice, then reinstalled after a quick Google review . But wait, the real magic happened when I saw the insurance claim: surgical extraction, bone reshaping… I guess my jaw went on a spa retreat I wasn’t invited to. Didn’t know my mouth was starring in a sci-fi thriller!

Experiencia negativa: I had the worst experience I’ve ever had with a dentist at this office. The dentists there are impersonal and don’t care about your health and this office only cares about $$$. I had a simple filling done here where it was clear that I was over numbed during the procedure (mouth was numb for 2 days) and afterwards experienced sensitivity and abnormal bleeding when flossing. Multiple times I was written off by the dentists here who assured me that the filling was normal and I was wrong. As soon as I went to another dentist, they actually listened to my concerns and quickly verified that my gums were basically continually inflamed for months because the filling was badly shaped and pushing into my gums and needed to be filed down. This office nickels and dimes you for follow ups where they made mistakes and actually overcharged my insurance $200 for a procedure I didn’t get( still going through the headache of getting that sorted out). They were always late with appointments. It’s also very shabby inside and the pictures are outdated. I’m very happy to never be going back. Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

They've remodeled and everything feels nice and upbeat Lobar was my hygienist and he was great - explained everything along the way, was gentle throughout and got my mouth minty fresh. The dentist Dr Gupta was great - she did a thorough check. Overall, strongly recommend. They took their time and I definitely didn't feel pressured to leave too soon nor strongly suggested unnecessary treatments as at other places.

After every dental appointment, I come home thinking to myself "Wow, I have never had such a good experience at the dentist." After the 4th visit and thus 4th time thinking this, I realized that I needed to share some public appreciation. Dr Halthore and her team truly set the bar in terms of customer service and service quality. At each appointment, the hygienist and dentist always take their time to explain key areas I should focus on when brushing and flossing, and they frequently offer tips on different ways to to maintain or improve my dental health. They also never fail to check on my comfort level during each cleaning. Lastly, at other providers, I have sometimes felt the need to keep my guard up to avoid being pushed to pay for services I don't actually need. With Grove Dental Center, I have never gotten that impression. They act like they have my true best interests at heart rather than simply trying to maximize their revenue. All in all, Grove Dental Center is a true standout business and a model for all health service providers. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone seeking a dentist in downtown Jersey City.

He is very empthantic and cares a great deal about your dental care. I prefer him over anyone eles there. I would suggest to make an appointment with him. The office is nice and clean. Experiencia negativa: Asked me to pay $150 for a X-ray so I sent the $150 and they said come back in two weeks for the X-ray… I ended up going somewhere else to get my tooth pulled because that was too long to wait. Now they will not refund me for the X-ray I never received…. I called multiple times and got nothing but attitude because I want a refund for service I never received!

Experiencia negativa: I do not trust Dr. Halthore. During my last ckeaning visit In November, the hygenist chipped my front tooth. After finishing with the cleaning, she did mentioned that it was alreafy chipped which was a lie as they had taken xrays before cleaning and there was no crack. When I spoke to Dr. Halthore about it, she did mention that the crack is so small that even if they fix it it will not stay. However she did promise to call me back. Fats forward even I forgot as I was busy travelling but when I was again due for my cleaning, they called me and I told them Im still waiting to hear about the solution. I spoke to Dr Halthron about it and she completely denied it saying I do not wear night guard, my tooth is in a bad shape etc. To which I told her wearing a nightguard is my choice, she should fix the mess made by her employee. To this she asked me to book an appointment and she will take care of everything. Today 6/13 when I went to her office and double check to make sure they don't charge me for this treatment, she denied it saying I need to bear the cost. Even though the copay is a tiny amount of $55, its all about moral and ethics. It was the hygienist fault and she started accusing me saying " you want everything for free and you have been talking rudely from day 1" This is what happens when you confront doctors. When I was stern, and told her the x-ray is the biggest proof and she shouldn't be cheating her patients and putting false notes, she agreed to do it for free to which I said I declined. It was her tone and they way she spoke was not acceptable. Instead of being apologetic, she's blaming me as if I broke my own tooth. I am officially going to sue her. DONT TRUST HER AT ALL.

Experiencia negativa: I came to this office a few years ago overall experience was good. I’ve been a patient since then. Recently, I tried to contact them multiple times through phone and no one picks up. Immediately after my call, I received a message stating that no one‘s available to take your call, Can I text? So I did just that, I communicated my desire for an appointment because I was getting my braces removed. I received a message the following day stating I don’t have a scheduled appointment for the requested day… Which was obvious because I was requesting an appointment. I called multiple times, goes to voicemail after multiple rings. I received the same text message. I responded immediately and then hours later. I received another message stating that there’s nothing available. I drove 30 minutes to the location to communicate with somebody in person I was expecting for a full office with tons of people because of the lack of responsiveness… Instead, it was a completely empty office with no one in it and someone at the front desk. I expressed my concern, I let the front desk representative know that I’ve been calling for days, multiple times and no one’s picking up. She says “Evan, right?” I say yes, she says I’m so sorry I just responded to you… She apologized and said that there’s no appointments available today as we don’t have a hygienist. She mentioned that sometimes our phone lines go down, Which respectfully was a bogus response because while I was in the office I called she looked toward the phone and I said you see the phone works fine. The woman at the front desk was honestly not very helpful, I’m in the service industry, and the service was terrible. She disregarded me and said well, sir there’s nothing that I can do. Do you want to schedule an appointment for next Monday? I responded I will not be returning. Before I left, I looked at her and said this is ridiculous that I had to come into the office just to communicate with you because you wouldn’t pick up the phone or respond to my message and the timely manner. She stood quiet. I said, rather unfortunate that you will lose customers because of your lack of communication and so-called messed up phone lines. At one point the service of this place was good, I don’t know what happened, but it isn’t anymore. I will not be returning back to the dental office, and because of the current conditions I wouldn’t recommend it.

They applauded me for not having any fillings--I find most dentists are quick to find fault with something and it was nice to have the positive pointed out. They do a very thorough cleaning and give clear notes on how to better care for your teeth.

I never had to wait for more than 5 minutes. Office and equipment is new and immaculately clean. Doctors are prompt and very patient. No over selling or false billing. Hygienists are awesome. I feel good and cared for after every visit. I wish other medical practices learn from them and Grove Dental Center keeps up the good work. Lomar is the best hygienist that has every worked on my teeth.

I always look for Lobar as my dental hygienist. He really cares about patients and shares tips on how to properly do daily flossing and brushing.

I went to their office due to a dental emergency, (which they were able to fit me in the very next day,) and the experience I had was so good that I switched my primary care over to them.

No predatory practices here and if you ask a question you will receive a direct answer. They help to schedule around your insurance to ensure you're not footing the bill. The dentists are all very good at what they do and they will ask multiple times during the procedure if you're feeling ok. They also celebrate your dental wins and will discuss any questions you have. Thank you team for making going to the dentist a breeze.

Experiencia fantástica: Both my mom and I have had very good experiences with Grove Dental Center. I recently had a teeth cleaning and X-rays done. Very convenient location, my Delta Dental insurance was accepted no problems. The appointment started on time, was done quickly, and the hygienist did a very thorough job. I had more plaque buildup than usual since it had been over a year since my last cleaning but the hygienist was patient and diligent until my teeth were clean and sparkling as they should be!

Experiencia negativa: Unresponsive and would treat you horribly if you do not get all the extra work they want you to get done. I tried contacting them a number of times to get my X-rays on email but they do not care to respond because I decided to go with a dentist who is covered in my insurance and not get my treatment done from Grove dental. Feels like they only care about the money.

Experiencia positiva: So far, I enjoyed my visit here. First visit but the staff is very friendly! The elevator was not working which was inconvenient as I've had 2 surgeries but it is only up 1 floor. This was definitely a positive visit and I look forward to many more!

Experiencia fantástica: First visit was great - they made me feel comfortable as I am very very nervous of the dentist office itself, no matter how old I am. The office was nice & clean - even smelled great upon arrival. 100% recommend!!!! There is also parking which is a huge plus since downtown has a great reputation of horrible parking. Again, they made me feel comfortable. The staff were great, they were extremely patient with me, they even asked if I needed to take a break a couple times(again, I am really just that terrified) I didn't feel judged - overall just a great experience.
