Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had a few dental offices, but this is the most consistent I’ve gone to just one location. I absolutely love Dragon Dental. Not only are they right in the heart of downtown, but I feel like they genuinely care about my dental health and truly take care of me during my appointments. Everyone from the front desk staff all the way to the dentist in the back are truly kind, patient, and helpful. Recently they’ve handled my deep cleanings, cavity feelings, and even a root canal lol and I’ve never felt any pain. If you’re looking for a dental office in Oakland that’ll get the job done then I highly recommend this place for you!

Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to see dragon dental by my periodontist.. The experience went well above my expectations. The receptionist was polite, the assistant Nancy was super nice and helpful and skillful in what she was doing. Dr. tse took her time doing all the examination and explaining to me what needs to be done and she did not push for any procedures or filling or bonding. . I was not feeling rushed. I can tell the doctor and the staff enjoy what they were doing and I feel I trust them.

Experiencia negativa: We were told by Dragon Dental that we were completely covered for a cleaning and X-rays. After the appointment took place, we were told that we were not covered and then were asked to sign a document stating that services were provided with knowledge that we were not covered which was a lie. I have called repeatedly since that time to speak about what happened. My calls have been ignored. Messages have not been returned. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend going.

Experiencia negativa: I found the staff to be incredibly pushy with “recommendations.” It was impossible to get through a single appointment without the staff saying I needed A,B,C and X,Y,Z done. One of these recommendations was a scam that now has me paying over $500 out of pocket. After multiple times being told I needed a deep cleaning I confirmed (more than once) with the staff that this would be covered by my insurance. Now months later I receive a message saying own I then $500 for the deep cleaning. They did not return my phone calls about this nor did they provide an actual bill for this despite me requesting one. Watch out as this location will try to scam you.

Experiencia negativa: Had a strange first visit experience where they took a *lot* of photos of my teeth... the first appt took about an hour and half. Later when I moved away they were unresponsive to requests to provide X ray files even though insurance only covers these once every several years.

Experiencia fantástica: My first time visit to Dragon Dental went unexpectedly well. I've tried to avoid going to the dentist and my teeth definitely showed it...they needed some love. A friend referred me and I'm so happy that I went. The folks at DD were very professional, kind and patient with me and my dental anxiety. They took the time to explain everything that they did and actually listened to my questions and concerns. I felt like they cared and that I was in good hands. I look forward to seeing them again.

The staff was also helpful in working with my insurance company to obtain pre-authorization for any procedures that they were not sure if my dental insurance would cover.

This practice is large and growing because they serve the local community well (including bilingual staff for Oakland Chinatown patient volume)!

This appointment also involved appointments at the Orthodontist before and after to accommodate Dragon Dental to do the work. They DIDN’T do the work after reviewing X-Rays because of time constraints?!! Again?!

EVERY person who works there is highly skilled, meticulous, conscientious, thorough, patient, careful, and kind. They're so attentive that you feel you're their only patient. If you have a unique problem, they'll listen closely to your concerns, apply the latest technology, and persevere until they find a solution. I can't imagine greater skills or higher standards. Dragon Dental is a model practice.

Experiencia positiva: First of all, the pros, they have one of the state of the art X-Ray machine. I really like it. Dr Joyce Tse is very professional. She explains what’re the next steps in a detailed manner. Cons: after the initial X-Ray at the machine stated above. There is another step of X-Ray and excessive picture takings with propping kits stuck in your mouth that are uncomfortable. Worst than that is the cost for deep-cleaning is exorbitant, which is coming out from copays. Plus, I don’t know why there is a crowning appointment that would cost nearly 2K out of pocket. Plus, the receptionist seems to hate the customers for many lives (not exaggerating) and being incredibly impolite and would yell at customers. Her name is Flora. I know she won’t get fired. I know they are very understaffed. But I really don’t like patients like myself should be willing to get tortured and pay a high price for subpar services.

Experiencia fantástica: I visited the office yesterday 8/29 for a filling. This is my second filling done in my lifetime. I had a filling done 20yrs ago and I didn’t remember what it felt like. The Dr. was gentle and explained every part of the procedure. I was nervous and scared and she made me feel comfortable and safe. When my treatment was finished I felt no pain and the anesthesia wore off in time for lunch. It was just the right amount of anesthesia. I’m still happy with the service and professionalism Dragon Dental provides and will continue to recommend family and friends.

They managed to squeeze me in December which I was grateful for. I’ve never had such a comprehensive, thorough exam and explanation to my x rays. The team had amazing bedside manners and made me feel comfortable while remaining professional. The cleaning was also very gentle which I didn’t realize how rough past dentists were in comparison. The staff members are friendly, professional, efficient, thorough, and the office is extremely sanitary. I feel safe and comfortable visiting during covid. Unlike my first two dentists in the area, Dragon Dental did not try to upsell me on a deep cleaning on my first visit. (I never heard a peep about needing a deep cleaning before I moved from the east coast, so I was suspicious). Highly recommend. :)

Experiencia fantástica: I had not been to the dentist in several years and my tooth broke in early March. I had been going to Dragon Dental prior to falling out of care and called them up right after the incident. They fit me in their schedule right away, fully examined and did x-rays for my teeth and set up appointments to fix my teeth. I am fully satisfied with their work - they put a crown on my broken tooth, thoroughly cleaned my teeth, and filled cavities in several other teeth over 2 appointments. The staff is absolutely wonderful, they took great care of me. The dentist made sure I was completely numb and felt no pain during the procedures - they used topical numbing prior to the shots and great technique to reduce discomfort during the numbing process. I would recommend them to everyone!

One month of treatment later and here's my final verdict: this was the best dental experience of my life and worth every single penny. I am scheduled for my 6th appointment later this month to complete my treatment plan and I would absolutely come back for cleanings and any additional work if needed. Why? Because at Dragon Dental, I was in incredible hands the entire time. From the beginning, Dr. Tiffany Tse and the staff were communicative, compassionate, and transparent. I always felt I had someone on my side, and my dental health was of genuine concern to them. Like many, I went into my first appointment with skepticism because of terrible experiences at other dental offices. Dragon Dental heard my concerns and put in the effort to make me comfortable; giving me full permission to express my needs at any time. They emphasized client care by explaining every procedure, announcing any incoming sensations (hot, cold, etc), taking feedback, and checking in. Even on my worst days, they were able to say, in one way or another, "It's okay, you're safe here". In truth, dental work is expensive and it is hard to find a trustworthy dentist. But when the connection is right, the investment is a second thought and the dentist becomes a life long healthcare provider. I am so appreciative of Dr. Tiffany, Tamisha, Fora, and Angela for taking care of me. I thank them all from the very bottom of my heart. Thank you so much, Dragon Dental! They have BEST covid protocols (sterile environment, air purifiers, fully suited technicians and doctors with PPE gear so I felt completely safe. Also, they have the best technology to photograph and view 3D renders of your teeth and their roots! Super professional, friendly, and comforting when having to work in your mouth. I will bring my daughter back to get her teeth checked.
