Experiencia negativa: I went to this dental clinic for veneers through a friend's recommendation. The dentist who did my job was a very young, tall man with glasses. He was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude towards patients. Normally, veneers don't require anesthesia, but he used it on me, leaving my lips numb for two whole days. The color was also wrong, and the veneers were much longer than my natural teeth. When I called to complain, he was incredibly rude, claiming he was too busy to correct his mistakes. This dentist completely lacked professional ethics and professional conduct. It was the worst experience of my life, and I absolutely do not recommend this dental clinic!!!

I used to feel worried about going to the dentist, but Metairie Dental is different. The staff here is amazing and the good vibes always give me a good excuse to have to take a break from work. Even better, they keep my smile healthy and bright with their excellent skills and professionalism. Shontae is an absolutely amazing hygienist and is easy to talk to; She always ensures maximum comfort and is so gentle while thorough. Dr. Miles is wonderful, the absolute best dentist I have ever had, and she is also gentle, kind, and professional. My mom and I have also seen Dr. Murphy and he is also very kind and professional. Customer service/scheduling at the front desk is outstanding and they are always happy and quick to help. I could not ask for a better dental office! Overall, highly recommend! Thank you Metairie Dental Centre for always being kind and brightening my smile in more ways than one!

Clear, proactive, and genuinely patient-focused, which makes every visit smooth and stress-free. It's feels weird saying that as someone who has avoided the dentist for years. Not anymore! Dr. Coons is fantastic and does outstanding work. You can tell he truly cares about his patients and takes pride in getting everything just right. What really set them apart for me, though, was when I had a temporary crown fall out (completely my fault). Dr. Murphy went above and beyond by seeing me after hours and getting it glued back in. I'm not even his patient and he did that! That level of care and commitment is rare, and I’m incredibly grateful. If you’re looking for a dental office that combines skill, professionalism, and genuine care, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

I had an appointment scheduled for 2/24/26 which I just cancelled. After a resolved negative experience outlined below, a few weeks later I got a call from the office manager. MDC had decided to accept my Blue Advantage Medicare insurance, and I was SAFE TO CANCEL my other dental insurance. Friday, 2/20/26, I got a call from a new person telling me "we no longer accept your insurance". This, after I was specifically told to cancel my auxiliary dental insurance. Short story, I canceled my upcoming appointment, and found a new practice that DOES take my Medicare plan. All the MDC person said to me at the end of our convo was, "OK". This dental firm has cratered. You have been warned. I have been a patient of MDC since 2009 and never -NEVER- had any kind of issue with their work, professionalism, competence, or efficiency. Last Monday was not so good. For the past few years I have been lucky to be attended by Dr Bonnie. She is perfection in motion. Because I needed to resolve a medical conflict, the front staff congenially rescheduled me to the first open date, an afternoon. I later learned that involved a different set of dental personnel. Fine. I am going to consider this visit an aberration, but have the following suggestions: 1. If you lay a patient flat in the chair, the waste fluid goes down the throat, not the waste tube. A little angle, please. Yeah, I should have asked. 2. If you jab a patient with a plaque pick, do not blame the patient for reacting to pain. 3. Do not threaten a patient that you will go deeper with the pick if he keeps on moving. 4. Do not ever tell a patient to "control your reactions" to induced pain. All that does is tighten the patient to pain anticipation. This is the psychological basis of torture. 5. NEVER lecture a patient on the number of times he should brush daily. 6. NEVER lecture a patient on consumables. "You should only drink water." "I am a stage 3 kidney patient. That is about all I drink". "Oh there is red on your gums". I displayed yellow fluid in my container. I LIKE flavored water, its sugar free. "You should drink it plain. You are drinking acid". Upon completion of the work, the hygienist raised the chair, and I hung my head, closed my eyes and just breathed. The doctor came in and humorousIy asked if I was napping. I responded with one word: "stress". The doctor went behind the chair and both the doctor and hygienist were whispering about why I said that, and I could hear the hygienist defending the technique. 8. If you are going to talk about me and what happened during the procedure, include me and treat me like a living person and not a cadaver. That was totally unprofessional. I will add, however, the work itself was thorough and good, just painful and insulting. Hence, three stars. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

She cleans my teeth incredibly thoroughly while always checking to make sure I’m comfortable and not in pain. She is professional, gentle, and has excellent people skills. I really appreciate how attentive she is to my dental health and how she reminds me about proper brushing and flossing. She’s always friendly and smiling when she comes to get me from the lobby. Experiencia negativa: Absolutely terrible customer service. The hygienist made it a point to stare my wife in the face and make her cry when delivering bad news about needing more treatment. Only go here if you don't actually need a dentist and just want routine cleanings. Anything more advanced is treated with shame and ridicule and just isn't how a paying customer should be treated. Completely unprofessional.

Experiencia negativa: Beautiful place but the dental hygenist was too rough with x-rays and poking my gums with metal pick and even told me I was pouting when she hurt me a lot! That was an ugly and unnecessary comment! I never experienced the amount of pain from a dental hygenist ever! Dental hygenist and dentist don’t know what BMS is. They both thought I said something else. I will be taking my procedures somewhere more professional, friendly, knowledgable, and timely. I had to wait 15 minutes to see the hygenist then wait a half hour to see the dentist. I want my x-rays to take elsewhere. After the experience I had today I won’t let the dental hygenist touch my mouth ever again!

Experiencia negativa: Book appointment for emergency tooth extraction and waited, unless severe pain, for 5 days just to be told that I would have to make another appointment for actual extraction. Declined, paid my charges and left in pain. Office manager called and refunded the charges. I explained the following: google search for emergency extractions gave thier office as 4th in list, website states Dr Murphy and his wife as dentist (they are retired) and their website does not provide any information on the dentist that actually work there. I feel that all of these items lead to a misrepresentation of their company. The office manger, who was not at the office, was the only person who had expressed concern for the amount of pain they made me unnecessarily endure. Another dentist pulled my cracked molar within 24 hours for a $125. These are the facts and nothing but the facts.

Despite my embarrassing and lengthy avoidance of dental care, all staff exhibited nothing but kindness and understanding toward me. During each procedure, the team explained what they were doing, managing my expectations extremely well. They work well together as colleagues in a nurturing environment are able to do. They were very considerate of any pain, checking in frequently to ensure everything went as comfortably as possible. Dr. Morgan is massively competent, knowledgeable about all the most up-to-date techniques and technology. She gave me the best tip ever to mitigate my strong gag reflex that has worked like a charm. That tidbit earned her my eternal gratitude. The wonderful people aren’t the only great thing about Metairie Dental Centre. Since the facility’s renovation several years ago, the waiting room is spacious and comfortable, with complimentary coffee and calming décor. The exam rooms are also more spacious and have TVs attached to the ceiling for patients to watch during their procedures. Everything looks so nice, like the reveal from an HGTV show. The piéce de resistance is the charming powder room. It features a glorious mural of a moody swamp scene painted by the practice owner Dr. Murphy’s high school-age daughter. It’s a magical place to relieve oneself. Like I said, there are so many reasons to recommend Metairie Dental Centre. These are but a few. Go discover the rest for yourself.

Experiencia negativa: Murphy was my dentist before I moved away in May 2023. I had been returning to the area quarterly so it was easier for me to remain as a patient and just schedule for when I'm in town. Since May 2024, my situation changed meaning I am no longer back as often. However, I have chosen not to change the service to where I live. Since I was last here in November 2023, they have added a fleet of hygienists, another dentist, and downsized the front desk from 3 to 1. It's not all good. My main complaint is as a cash customer, I was sure to *confirm* the cost of a cleaning both with the receptionist before the appointment was made and with the hygienist before the x-rays began. That cost was $149. Post x-rays, the hygienist brought in the dentist to tell me that, based on the x-rays, I would need an in-depth cleaning (a paraphrase) and a filling replacement. That cost would be $1503. No cleaning later, at check out somehow the x-rays and the "dental consult" to deliver the news was $146. So unless I can get a full cleaning for $3, the math is not mathing. Meanwhile, the front desk clerk could only tell me that she was sorry I got bad information and her manager was unavailable to talk with me.

Stopped in to Metairie and they had be in a chair and all fixed up in 30 minutes for a super good price. Very nice and extremely professional and talented staff. Great Place

Experiencia negativa: A simple extraction with Dr. Sylvia Brautigam turned into one of the most traumatic experiences I’ve had at a doctors office. This woman’s actions kept me in pain for so much longer than necessary. Multiple people in the office seemed to continuously lie to cover up the malfeasance. Not once did Dr.Brautigam reach out to explain or apologize. Zero integrity. Zero compassion. I will carry the trauma of this with me for years. I can’t speak to other dentists in the office but Dr. Brautigam, Michelle, and others were absolutely horrible to me. There are so many other dentists that understand healthCARE. Here I was degraded and dismissed.
