Experiencia fantástica: I had the best experience with Dr. Ida Alfonso and her team. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Alfonso. I had a dental emergency when two of my fillings fell out, and I was desperately looking for a dentist. When I called the office, Martha was amazing. She was kind, helpful, and guided me through the process of becoming a new patient and dealing with my insurance. Everything worked out so smoothly, and I am very grateful for her help. Dr. Ida Alfonso is warm, caring, and truly has her patients' best interests at heart. She takes the time to listen to your concerns and recommends what is best for you without ever making you feel pressured. She genuinely cares about her patients and their comfort. The best part of my experience was that it was completely “pain-free”. Dr. Ida Alfonso made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure and checked on me frequently to make sure I wasn't feeling any discomfort. Since the procedure took a little longer, I had to keep my mouth open for an extended period of time. When my jaw became tired, Dr. Alfonso even took a moment to gently massage it to help me feel more comfortable. That level of kindness and compassion meant so much to me. Dr. Ida Alfonso, thank you for providing such exceptional care. I had a wonderful experience at your office, and I highly recommend you to anyone looking for a caring, skilled, and compassionate dentist.

Experiencia negativa: Beware: Visited because I needed one infected tooth pulled. Dentist pressured me to have two other teeth pulled as well. Why? One had a deep pocket and the other was healthy! She charges $800 to pull one tooth! I went to a wonderful dentist who charged $250 . Charged $400 for two X-rays of one tooth. Other dentist charged $100.

It was honestly difficult finding a place that felt trustworthy and professional, but Carlsbad Dentistry exceeded my expectations completely. They were incredibly accommodating and made time for me on short notice, which I truly appreciated. From the moment I walked in, the hospitality and kindness from the staff were top notch. Everyone made me feel comfortable and welcomed, and the overall experience was probably one of the best I’ve ever had at any dental office. Experiencia fantástica: I had a fear of dentists for about 4 years since a traumatic failed tooth removal procedure. I told this office about that and they were beyond understanding. They made sure I was comfortable, pain free, and not anxious at every single step. I never felt shamed for waiting to come in, I never felt like I was being forced to push through pain, and I never felt like they didnt care. This place actually undid my fear of the dentist. 10/10 cannot recommend them enough. Side note: They even let me watch Netflix while I waited and while they worked on my teeth.

She explains things, is gentle doing procedures and offers ways to help keep teeth healthy. Her staff is caring and goes the extra step to make you feel comfortable. I will be going back for future visits.

In the past, it can take ages for me to see a dentist. When a tooth was hurting, they saw me that day, and appointments since then have prompt. They gave me a great referral for an oral surgeon who also saw me that same day. They are changing the culture of dentists, offering a warm atmosphere and nice touches like coffee and a wheel you can spin for free prizes.

I went in for an emergency inflamation on the gums and they are able to take care of the issue and did thorough followup to make sure the inflamation is gone. At the same time, my chipped tooth was also taken care of by them in a timely manner. I highly recommend Dr Alfonso as your primary dental care team for your family. Update (5/8/25) After 4 years I am still with Dr Alfonso. She is still doing a great job taking care of my dental health.

Experiencia fantástica: I am writing this review to highlight the world class dental treatment I continually receive from Dr. Alfonso and staff, and reasons why I trust Dr. Alfonso as my dentist. First, from an administrative standpoint, it is easy to get a hold of Dr. Alfonso and staff for a dental appointment, and not to mention, there are a ton of available openings to accommodate my hectic schedule. Martha, office manager, has the best customer service and always does her best to address all questions and explain things thoroughly with any medical jargon. Secondly, walking into Dr. Alfonso's office is like entering a 5 star hotel. I am always welcomed and greeted by beautiful Dr. Alfonso and staff. They do a great job by calming your nerves down and engaging in nice conversations. Furthermore, the amenities, such coffee, tea, water, and little snacks in the office are always available to us for on the go. Third, during my dental treatments, I appreciate that Dr. Alfonso's office has a nice cable TV in front of you, with a cool sunglass to dim the light around you.. They even have nice warm blankets upon request as I have used one during a treatment. The chair is ergonomic, comfortable, and cozy for long dental treatments. This is a win win for everyone because after a long treatment you walk out feeling comfortable. Fourth, Dr. Alfonso is a perfectionist and performs like so during any type of dental treatment. Her hands are light as a feather and her quick and orchestrated dental techniques puts me to sleep. Additionally, I appreciate Dr. Alfonso's dental hygienist as well because she is thorough, careful, vocal, and caring. She is alway ensures that I am comfortable and okay. It feels wonderful to sit back and relax while Dr. Alfonso and team takes excepttonal care of my teeth and well-being. Lastly I like that Dr. Alfonso and staff are transparent and honest about your teeth. They take pre and post dental treatment pictures of your teeth to highlight the problem. They are not in the business to exploit you and your money. What you see and hear from Dr. Alfonso is what you get, nothing but the finest!!!! Overall, I am an extremely satisfied customer and writing a lengthly review for Dr. Alfonso and staff is definitely worth my time. My front teeth were breaking away from the back they were slowly chipping to the point where I was not comfortable to smile because I was so self conscious of how my teeth looked. Office staff was welcoming and made sure I was comfortable. I saw Dr. Alfonso who did the exam and diagnosed the issue. Experiencia negativa: Beware! DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE REVIEWS! I came to Dr. Ida back in June 2024 because of the reviews, only to find that the reviews are doctored. First, my insurance was billed for a type of X-ray that now prevents me from having it for the next 5 yrs. because the insurance won’t cover it. Yes! The next 5 yrs! Second, they were untruthful about their billing process. They had me pay upfront and informed me that my insurance would mail the payment directly to me. However, not only did they receive my payment, they also processed my insurance claim and had the payment mailed to them! I had to contact my insurance and find out through them. Once I found out, I immediately contacted Dr. Ida’s office for clarification and was met with non-caring attitudes from the staff. I was told “they hadn’t checked their mail yet so they didn’t know if my insurance payment was in their mailbox but once they got it I would be refunded.” I went on and wrote a 1 star review and was immediately contacted by Dr. Ida asking me to change my review “because this is her business.” Well Dr. Ida I trusted you and your staff although I have severe anxiety and you guys failed me! She asked me what could she do to make things right and I advised her a refund was appropriate. She agreed and immediately refunded me. I changed my review AS SHE REQUESTED to a 5 star for her willingness to correct the issue. Fast forward 2 months later (as in yesterday) I called and requested my dental records so I could take them to my new dental office. Upon pick up, I was only given ONE piece of paper with the copy of X-rays not even labeled with my information on it to properly identify they are mine (not even sure if my new dentist will be able to use it) and a copy of my “ledger” indicating I have a $41 balance! Keep in mind that during my initial visit a lot of recommendations were made to include a referral to have a tooth removed. I even received an email a couple of days after my initial visit with the recommendations/treatment plan. So why was I only given ONE piece of paper that have X-rays on it (no patient identification on them)that may not be able to be used due to the quality? Where is the rest of my dental record? Why do I have a $41 balance when the insurance clearly paid and has a set fee schedule? The processes at this office are extremely unprofessional and not worth the hassle! There are better dental offices with true and accurate reviews!

Dr. Ida has helped guide me through multiple infections, oral surgeon’s, sleep study to now having ENT do surgery next month. I am grateful for her professionalism and dedication to her patients. I’ll be moving soon and I’ll miss her and everyone in the office but I am very grateful that I crossed paths with Dr. Ida. Unfortunately I had a dental emergency while traveling but fortunately I found Dr. Ida Alfonso’s office. June was able to get me in quickly and patiently answered all my questions. Everyone in the office was attentive and friendly. Dr. Alphonso was very professional and caring. This was my best dental visit ever. I just can’t say enough about Dr. Alphonso and her team they are the best! Don’t hesitate in calling for an appointment they will take excellent care of you.

Experiencia fantástica: Due to bad Dental experiences in the past my fear and anxiety kept me from going. A year ago I went to a dentist and she told me that due to bone loss in my upper mouth a denture wouldn't work or stay in my mouth and sent me on my way. A few months ago I went to Dr Alfonso and told her my story and all I had been through Dr Alfonso and her team treated me with understanding and such kindness. Dr Alfonso created a plan for a denture and took extra time and care to make sure the fit would be right. Also, that the denture would look natural. After my procedure I walked out with instant dentures. It stayed in my upper mouth immediately. The bottom partial fit as well. I couldn't be more ecstatic about the outcome. I feel like a new woman thanks to Dr Alfonso and her amazing team. They have changed my outlook on going to the dentist. I absolutely recommend Dr Alfonso to anyone, especially those who need extra TLC and patience. Thank you so much!

She takes the time to explain what she is doing during my semi-annual appointments, listens to and addresses all of my dental concerns, and it kind enough to always remember what is going on in my life and check in. Her team is always very personable and friendly! I love going to the dentist because Dr. Alfonso is my dentist! Dr. Alfonso is the best! She has been my dentist since I was a kid. She always takes the time to explain what's going on with my teeth and personally considers each of her patients as a friend. Even though I live on the east coast now, I go out of my way to still keep her as my dentist when I'm visting.
