Experiencia fantástica: I was treated horribly by these people and they tell you things that are not true at all. Then, when you question it they avoid you like the plague. I would not recommend going here . They are rude and they just keep apologizing for their rude behavior but nothing ever changes. weird . They also tell you what you want to hear about affordability and treatment and then get you to write a good review on Google and then all of a sudden your insurance isn’t enough or the place you were refrrred to won’t take your insurance or they want a huge down payment and you don’t end up with any options and you still have a medical problem . It’s ridiculous.

Experiencia fantástica: Great customer service! I was having a huge issue with contacting my insurance provider and the front desk staff totally took care of it. Also, dentist really took her time with me as a patient, answering all my questions and explaining my options. Even my cleaning was a good experience, and I usually cleanings painful. They care about making your dental experience really pleasant, which isn’t a word I’d use to describe most dentists I’ve been to. If I didn’t have insurance, I would honestly consider paying cash for Gentle Dental.

Experiencia negativa: Worst dental experience I've had. Bad organization, rescheduling, very pushy for orthodontist treatment and premiums. I ended up leaving after 2 hours, not sure if any cleaning was actually done on my teeth and with fairly poor communication from everyone. I don't think I've ever left a one star review but this one was just too much - the whole environment seemed like a company, not a clinic - one doctor for all the patients, one hygienist that barely talked with me for the 1h45 minutes I had to seat on my chair unattended

Experiencia fantástica: My experience with gentle gentle was a an overall very positive experience. Initially there was some confusion over the cost of the crown. The price they quoted me was about $400 more than my insurance told me I was entitled to. After discussing this with the office manager Eileen she was able to confirm and provide a new treatment plan for the revised cost in time for the upcoming visit. The work on the crown done by Dr. Merchant and his assistant Mike was flawless. Both the temporary crown and the permanent crown we’re perfect. Easily as good as the best work I’ve ever had done. The hygienist Joy Johnson, who cleaned my teeth was impeccable. She obviously takes pride in her work. Charisse and Staphie at the front desk, were helpful and friendly and made me feel very welcomed, and the overall atmosphere there was positive and relaxed. Based upon my experience there with this last visit, I would be happy to recommend gentle Dental and will be looking forward to a continuing relationship with them for my future Dental needs.

Sadly front office continues to disappoint witnessing multiple missed steps again and again, high turnover with apparently lack of solid training in organization and customer service. Experiencia negativa: Appointment availability is quick, but the overall vibe and communication left me frustrated. Denis and Dr. Alo were professional, but verifying benefits and the treatment plan was confusing, especially after being told a staff member I'd been working did not exist as there was no one there by that name (Ros). The lady then corrected herself and said "well she no longer works here". I was asked to discard any estimates she had given because they were wrong. During my cleaning, I clearly stated what I was interested in going forward with (just a regular cleaning, maybe fluoride). I was really thrown off when Joy the hygienist kept on pressuring and telling me she saw bone loss on my x rays. Again I was left wondering if there was actual bone loss because the dr had informed me there wasn't any. Conflicting information and several problems areas that were not there during my last visit (6 months ago) made it hard to trust their recommendations. This office seems more suited for people who want quick, transactional care and aren't concerned about warmth, clarity, or being heard. If you value clear communication and respectful boundaries, this isn't the right fit.

He really provides a kind, and caring attitude. 2/21/25 Had a great customer service with Brittany at the front desk. She is very professional, knowledgeable and follows through with what she says. The other front desk ladies are very nice but Brittany gives me confidence that my needs are being correctly addressed each time. She will probably be the next boss in charge of that office.

Experiencia fantástica: I have the worst dental phobia. It started as a military child with insensitive dentist to adult dentists I have to prepare at home just to arrive at an appointment. The drill becomes the next obstacle. With a lot of convincing, and decades later, I gave Gentle Dental a chance. Though my anxiety and panic was visible, my earplugs coupled with earphones made my experience tolerable. The first serviceI left me with no pain after cavities filled. Today there were extractions and a partial dental inserted. I’m numb and achy, but I’m confident Gentle Dental was the perfect choice for my dental needs. My Dental Phobia still exist, but the Gentle Dental staff is understanding, treats me with ease and patience and slows down to give me time to catch my breath when my anxiety becomes overwhelming. Dr Merchant, Tech Dennis and Office Manager Aileen are the best!

Experiencia negativa: This office is so messed up! I went there 7 years ago, they took my copay for the visit, then did Xrays. They wanted to over charge me for a root canal so I walked out. Since then I get a bill for my visit! Yep, every single month a bill for something they already charged me for! STAY AWAY! They have no clue what they're doing!

Experiencia fantástica: I Received several notices of a change in the date and time for this first appointment—one for 12/16/25, 12/17/25, 12/18/25, and today. The front desk was very friendly, and I appreciate that. This is my third outside dental clinic authorized by the VA. The first one lasted five or six years. The dentist was retiring; it was an excellent clinic. My next one lasted three or four years, but they dropped the VA for doing their dental appointments; it was also an excellent clinic. I like the way my teeth were cleaned with the electric tool rather than just with the pick. I hope we can have a good run moving forward. I will express that to the VA to continue. Dr. Jimmie Allen

Experiencia negativa: Disappointing to say the least. Over the past month or so I have had 4 appointments (first appointment was 11/14). Each time I had to wait 15-30 minutes after my appointment time to be seen, and then sit in the chair an additional 30-60 minutes before seeing a dentist. The dentists were dismissive of my complaints after cavity fillings (too high) so I was in pain for 2 weeks until my follow up appointment at which time they told me that I probably didn’t know the fillings were too high when they did them because of the numbing (but I did tell her that day, and she told me it probably felt odd because of the numbing). Same story for the crown, different dentist; he dismissed me too. Then I had to go back for revisions and listen to them blame me again. Additionally, I tried calling several times when I was experiencing pain and was left on hold for 10-20 minutes, and told to call back or that they would call back and they never did. I told them I didn’t want them to do any more of the scheduled work and requested a refund and updated bill Dec 6th, and they kept saying they would email me or call me to review and they never did, so I went in 12/18 to review and noticed they triple charged for each tooth (new system). This is by far the worst dental experience I have ever had. They seem more focused on throughput than patient care; and it’s evident in the way they over schedule (causing insane wait times and dentists always seem to be in a rush) and the way they dismiss my concerns. The dentist also seemed irritated at having to explain the work they were doing (Dr. Merchant). The Dental Techs were not this way at all, they were excellent! Especially Denis! All in all, a terrible experience. I’ll be going elsewhere to have their work checked by other dentists.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to Gentle Dental for a tooth lengthening but it was determined that there wasn’t enough tooth structure to do that. So the only thing left was to do an implant. The first step in an implant is to extract the existing tooth which I was dreading since I had another dentist do a tooth extraction about 2 months ago that took a hour just for the extraction. Dr Hassan had the tooth extracted in less than 5 minutes. The whole procedure with extraction, bone graft and stitches was around 15 minutes. This dentist is amazing!!

Given it is a clinic, there has always been a choice of dentists and the care is therefore expert and convivial. I do check my copay each time. My insurer has been helpful advising ways to be healthy but budget conscious. GD .managers have assisted in that a great deal also.

Experiencia fantástica: I came to genital dentistry for my 6 month dental cleaning and exam. I’m new here after being hit with so many extra fees from my X dentist office. So I changed to Gentle Dentistry at 2620 El Camino Real suite A near Sprouts. I was in and out with exam and cleaning in an hour. Joy the hygienist were great. Used ultrasonic cleaning and scaling.... no hidden fees. Dr was really informative and efficient. This is a great place for dental care. Cecilia at Front desk was so helpful in explaining services. They even fitted me in for cleaning all in one visit.... great place !!!. Joy cleaned my teeth and did a perfect job. No abusive use of scaler or picks. She is always fun to see. Experiencia negativa: Stay Away! They over charged us over 4,000 dollars! no Joke. I filed a greivence with my dental insurance. You should do the same if you feel like you may have been over charged. Furthermore, they tried to upsell us on so many things and treatments we didnt need. Their assistants dont seem very confident or knowledgeable with what they are doing.

Experiencia negativa: Disappointing experience almost every time I have been here. First time, they “overbooked” and I was finally taken in almost 30 minutes after my appointment time, after they asked if they could reschedule me and I told them I already took time off work to show up. Second time, I scheduled for both my cleaning and dental exam. Somehow they “forgot” (???) and just didn’t perform the dental exam, so I got a half-baked cleaning after waiting 20 minutes in the lobby, where they didn’t even do everything they were supposed to do, like measuring the gum pocket depth. When I was finally able to do the dental exam that was supposed to be done last time, I mentioned that they skipped several things that were supposed to be done during my last appointment and I was brushed off. I was told that we could do them at the next appointment (in 6 months). Now I am having severe tooth sensitivity and will have to make yet another appointment, obviously at a different dentist, even though this could have been caught and addressed last time I was at Gentle Dental. TLDR find somewhere else I have no idea how this place has 4 stars.

My objective was to receive a routine checkup and cleaning, but ended up with a 1.5 hour frustrating appointment that resulted in no cleaning and a treatment plan with a $1,000 out of pocket initial price tag and ongoing monthly fees on top. Needless to say, I will not be pursuing their treatment plan, and will try to find a regular dentist. In 35 years, I’ve never paid out of pocket beyond what insurance covered, so feel like this outfit scams people toward unnecessary treatments.
Experiencia fantástica: We are here in Carlsbad on vacation and drove up from Chandler, AZ yesterday. On the drive I accidentally chipped my back molar. The sharp part of my tooth was digging into my tongue, making it difficult to speak. I called this office at 4:10 pm on a Friday night and they were able to accomodate me and put a temporary filling in my tooth until I can get back to my dentist in Chandler. Not only did they not charge me extra but they gave me such a unbelievable price! I'm just so grateful for their amazing customer service and don't know what I would have done otherwise!

Merchant, DDS, is everything you want in a dentist who conducts his business with integrity, knowledge, gentleness, honesty, and incredibly thorough in examining the health of his patient's teeth and gums. What really stood out to me was the high-level of care and attention to detail. Dr. Merchant provided me. He listened to me and provided me with the comfort that I needed to restore my trust in a dentist again. Prior to my exam with Dr. Merchant, I had become petrified of returning to a dentist because of an extremely bad dental experience that I had with another dentist from a facility not connected to Gentle Dentist of Carlsbad. If you're looking for a trustworthy, skilled, and compassionate dentist, I highly recommend Dr. Merchant, DDS. Additionally, I found that the person, Casandra, who reviews their patients' treatment plans was completely transparent and walked me through my treatment options. Something that my previous dentist's office rushed me through. Prior to meeting Dr. Merchant, DDS. I came into the office filled with tremendous anxiety and apprehension. I was so tense that my stress-induced asthma had flared up and I was coughing due to tightness in my chest. However, by the time he completed my exam and cleaning, my cough had subsided, and I felt tremendous relief knowing that I found my forever Dentist. When the dental treatment and cleaning was completed, Stephanie polished my teeth and then she asked me if I had been flossing the space above the bridge for the gap where my previous front tooth had been extracted. I expressed to her that because the two neighboring teeth are fused together by the bridge that I no longer had space between teeth to floss and that I only flossed the areas where I could fit the floss. Stephanie then showed me a special flossing hoop and floss and proceeded to show me the unique technique and educated me how I should be doing this after each meal. I was absolutely stunned, shocked and extremely disappointed that my previous dentist never invested a moment to educate me on how to floss the area where the tooth had been extracted. I have experienced an entire year not knowing of this especially important technique so that I could be proactive in maintaining healthy teeth and gums specifically where I had the bridge. Food and bacteria can be trapped in the empty space. I am immensely grateful to Dr. Merchant and his team for their gracefulness in handling my stress and anxiety, for the care that I received and especially for educating me on caring for the teeth that are bridged together.

Experiencia negativa: So for starters, let me just premise this with I was an outside patient from the VA dental clinic, which I should've just stayed part of. To start with when the appointment was originally scheduled they called a couple days later to cancel and reschedule because they said the doctor unfortunately was out of town. Of course I totally understand it. It was rescheduled just to have them call me a couple days later and tell me she they weren't able to be here for that one either And schedule me for a different time. So annoyingly I agreed to that appointment which I then showed up 15 minutes prior on said day. Going to check in was easy except for the fact of them letting me know in fact there was no appointment actually scheduled for me, and they can't even find me in the system. Eventually, someone who apparently knows what's going on there which seems far and few was able to find me in the system and show her that in fact it was scheduled. However, at this point because of the other woman's lack of ability of doing the job ended up, calling somebody else in front of me to cancel their appointment to squeeze me in. So, after about an hour, they finally took me back to sit in the chair which the technician, and doctor kept walking in and out of having conversation conversations arguing about something, not only in front of me, but outside the cubicle, which was so highly unprofessional, I don't even know what to say. They had no clue what I was even there for which I had let them know multiple times. During the examination they were pointing out stuff totally get it cavities, blah blah blah. I was there for a simple cleaning which is not rocket science. During the two hour cleaning again kept leaving the room doing who only knows what. All they did was the bare minimum and that's it. Meanwhile, I heard the doctor go next-door to the next cubicle having an argument with the patient over there because he was upset because he had been there for two hours and they had no clue why he was there as he was trying to explain it multiple times. This by far has to be one of the most unprofessional and disorganized offices I have ever been to. So now I am in good conscience cannot recommend this even in the slightest. I did let the VA know and apparently one of the techs that worked there a while ago said that's exactly the reason why she had left. If you were looking for a new dentist or even a current patient of theirs, I cannot preach enough to find somewhere else you deserve better. Also, I attached a couple photos of their nasty light inches from my face which obviously isn't cleaned routinely.

Experiencia negativa: Genuinely the worst experience I have ever had with a doctors office of any kind. The details are actually too long to even fit in a review here but appointments run way past their scheduled times (every time I’ve been in the office for a visit it’s been almost or more than 2 hours after my appointment time that I actually finish and leave). Getting the insurance/billing sorted has been an absolute nightmare that they continue to botch - my insurance covers all the work 100% and I’m still receiving bills with account balances even after countless conversations with them where they have confirmed everything was sorted and my balance was $0. They booked my incorrectly for one of my appointments and instead of admitting it and allowing me the option to rebook, they let me sit around for 40+ minutes in the back until the dentist finally came in to start, which then proceeded to take over an hour because she was squeezing my work in between patients until she told me I had to come back for a third visit to finish. I refused and told them to either finish today or I’d get the work done in 6 months when I was due for another cleaning but I wasn’t wasting another 2+ hours of my time coming back because of their scheduling mistake. The bedside manner of the dentist I saw was, to put it mildly, not good. She also attempted to just bulldoze me into all the work I “needed” and made no effort or discuss any options or things I could possibly do without, and any attempt at explaining why things were necessary in her opinion came out condescending and annoyed sounding. Just do yourself a favor and go elsewhere if you have any ability to do so.

Experiencia positiva: The jiffy lube of dentistry. I have no doubt they try their best, and if all you need is a cleaning, you’ll be fine, but anything more extensive, you are literally taking you own health into your hands —and mouth. Just look at the facility—it’s a production line. Gotta crank out patients as quickly as possible to maximize profit. I’ve had multiple dentists work with me while I’ve been going there, it’s a crapshoot. Some are good and some are not. Always new dental assistants, most of whom are learning the ropes. Staff is always jumping back and forth between multiple patients so something may or may not fall through the cracks. I called yesterday afternoon because my dental work got infected, front desk lady said she’d call me back in a half hour…she never did. Website says they open at 8am so I showed up…everything was locked up. I had to leave after 8:30 and still no one. The receptionist called me back at 11 to let me know she hadn’t called me back but she was thinking of me. When I told her she said she would call back last night, she told me not to school her. She asked if I felt my pain was a dental emergency. “Yes”. “Well unfortunately we are very busy today and there are no openings.” Fortunately I know the manager Aileen and she is a shrewd business person and she helped me to get in to have my tooth looked at. The temporary crown was too big so it had been causing immense pain and actually moved my tooth/root some so they wanted to have me meet with their periodontist to see if I’ll need a root canal. At that point I realized we had our fun and games enough and this was already way out of their league. Still have to get the permanent put on by them. Dreading that.

When I was finally seen to have my implant tightened the orthopedist confirmed it wasn’t my post and to Reschedule for the dentist to tighten my implant. I did reschedule reluctantly because I was told when I confirmed my appointment 2 days prior that the tooth would be taken care of on my appointment date I left and several minutes later I received a call saying that the doctor could take care of me. I returned placed in the room to the doctor saying she didn’t have time. The front office needs to communicate with the dentist. This has happened on several visits.

Experiencia negativa: I went in having poor dental visits elsewhere, so I was a bit apprehensive when I went here. I was right to think so as the service was poor enough for me to walk out. After some X-rays, a dentist came in to presumably talk to me about what was going on and what to do. However, he didn’t introduce himself or even acknowledge me for a few minutes as he stood directly behind me. Instead, he talked with the assistant. As I am an RN, I know that the very first thing you do when meeting your patient is to introduce yourself. I was starting to lose faith immediately. When the dentist finally introduced himself he was mostly apathetic to my questions and concerns. After a few minutes he left to hand me off to the payment clerk. I waited about ten minutes before I just got up and left. A nice lady from the office called me later that day and she did a great job in convincing me to come back the next day. That day went no better. I found all the staff to be brusque, dismissive, and kinda rude. I spoke with the doctor about my options. He was thorough and polite. In fact he, and the lady on phone, are the only reasons I gave this place 1 star. It would be zero otherwise. For the second time I walked out of this place. I do not recommend this place for your dentistry.

Experiencia negativa: Believe the other bad reviews! I didn't and I regret it. This place will absolutely try to scam you. For context: I'm a new patient and I have dental insurance. I came here yesterday for a check-up, x-rays, and a cleaning. I was there for an hour and 40 minutes and never even received the cleaning. After the x-rays, the dentist came in and examined my teeth and gums. After that, a lady in charge of explaining the treatment plans came in. First thing she did was hand me a Care Credit application.. then she handed me a treatment plan for $1,799!! She made sure to go into detail about the insurance codes and how much my insurance will cover vs how much I will have to pay out of pocket. I told them absolutely not and that I will come back after I get a second opinion. Sure enough, after talking to my insurance and comparing codes, I was informed that Gentle Dental lied about the pricing. They were trying to charge me HUNDREDS of dollars extra to fix my cavities when the copay is actually $40 per tooth. And they were trying to charge me $232 for the cleaning when the copay is again just $40. And on top of alllll that, Gentle Dental also scheduled me for another appointment without my permission.

Experiencia negativa: The worst dental office I have ever been to. They refused to do my cleaning which was covered under my insurance. I waited over 90min form y appointment until I was told that by law they need to do an exam ($$$$$$) or they can not do my cleaning. It's a total scam.
Experiencia negativa: I am not one to right negative reviews but I am very disappointed with my experience at this dental office. Starting from the beginning I was rudely greeted by the two receptionist as they were trash talking about me as I was walking in because I had not returned their calls I received less than 3 business days before my appointment. I do admit I was late to giving them my insurance because this process is new to me but I arrived to my appointment almost an hour early to help get that situated. After that my experience was great with all the dental assistants. The only highlight of that day. The rest was a hot mess. The dentist that I originally was supposed to see never saw me and they forced me to see a different one that sneakily wasn’t in my insurance plan. Which is very foul since now that exhausting visit was not covered. The doctor that they made me see was rude to his staff and did a half exam on my teeth. They then presented me an estimate saying I would only owe $12 for the visit today. The doctor then came back to apparently finish my exam and they presented me with a new estimate of over a $100 saying I needed a deep cleaning. I overall was there for three hours and never ended up getting a cleaning. The manager brought me into the office and tried to upsale things to me. I politely declined and when they said if I still wanted a cleaning after being bounced between dental stations for the past three hours I said no. I am also frustrated because the manger tried to book me follow up appointments which I explained to her that I did not want because I did not know my schedule for the next few months. At the end of the night they sent me two appointment reminders for random dates that I did not even ask for. I then received a letter from insurance that I owe $355 because that doctor they forced me to see was not covered on my policy. I truly hope someone reading this helps you not to go there because all of that day was a headache. As someone that works with doctors to see a doctor first hand talking down to his assistants is already a red flag. If you do go there, just know that the assistants that work there are the only good thing they have going for them and I hope the other doctors treat them better than he did.
Experiencia negativa: Their bed side manner is terrible. No one introduces themselves and they don’t tell you what they are going to do. They expect you to just open up and take it. They try to get you checked by the orthodontist when you are there for regular dental. I told several people “I don’t know what they are talking about but I am not seeing the orthodontist” and proceeded to be asked by the whole crew and the office manager. Inappropriate and unprofessional. Dentist give me anxiety and they are terrible at managing that by treating you like a farm animal. The front desk pisses me off every time because if you question anything they get a huge attitude. Also they charge you if you ever have to cancel last minute which is total horse crap. They don’t care if they make you wait in the lobby for 2 hours but if you are late they can cancel the appointment and charge you.

Experiencia negativa: My family and I had appointments for routine cleanings at the Carlsbad location of Gentle Dental. Despite being patients with Gentle Dental for about 10 years—and my having been seen at this location before—we were treated as new patients upon arrival. During my visit, the assistant asked, “Have you ever had your teeth X-rayed before?”—a strange question considering I’m nearly 50 years old. After completing the X-rays, he remarked, “Wow, you handled that pretty well. You must’ve done it before.” I found these comments unnecessary and unprofessional. After my exam, I was informed that I had no cavities. However, I was told I couldn’t proceed with my cleaning until I spoke with billing. When I met with the billing manager, I was presented with a $1,500 treatment plan for hypothetical future procedures and asked when I wanted to begin treatment. At that point, I had already been in the office for an hour and 20 minutes and still hadn’t received my cleaning, which would have taken an additional 40 minutes. Frustrated, I decided to leave. My husband, who also had no cavities and hasn’t had any in years, was given a treatment plan totaling approximately $2,500—primarily for what was labeled as “preventative care.” He, too, had been waiting for an hour and 20 minutes and had to return to work. This experience was frustrating, inefficient, and felt like an upsell rather than genuine patient care. We will not be returning to this location and do not recommend it. That said, the Gentle Dental in Murrieta is outstanding. My family and I would rather drive 30 minutes out of our way to receive honest care without fear of price gouging or unnecessary procedures. As a professional patient advocate, I find the approach at the Carlsbad office unacceptable. Beware and hold your wallet tight.

Experiencia negativa: Tried this dentist and I wish I could give zero stars. First, the tech who took my X-rays took 18 of them. While all other dentists I’ve been to take around 6. Major over utilization of resources. Second, the hygienist had a disagreement with a coworker right in front of me. Third, the dentist put their instruments in my mouth and told me right away I had 14 cavities. When I asked to review the X-rays with her she would not. I learned from previous dentists that X-rays can show cavities. I naturally have deep grooves in my teeth that are prone to staining. And she said my stains were all cavities and wanted me to do almost $3,000 worth of work out of pocket after insurance. I’ve had 3 dentists prior that said I just have stains. Went and got a second opinion and was told I only have 1 cavity and that my X-rays look great. Fourth, I booked an exam and cleaning and never got the cleaning. When asked why I wasn’t getting one, they said the hygienist already left for the night. Even though I know I booked a both appointments. This is such an unethical practice and clearly is over billing. I would not recommend this practice to anyone. Please don’t waste your time or your money here.

Experiencia negativa: This place is horrible. They overcharge. They do not do what you want. They put in crowns that do not last even after paying top dollar. They put in fillings that interfere when you floss, then cause discomfort when they break off. They are incompetent and leave you sore with holes and unfinished treatments. Leaving you to get a second opinion elsewhere.. going to another dentists office I found the people to be better trained with better xray equipment and better prices. I recommend you avoid a headache. According to the office manager their dentist "don't want to lose their license" by repeating a treatment they screwed up, when asked to try again and do things better since things fall apart and do not last. Honestly, I believe you shouldn't have a license if you can not do the job you are asked to do the first time around. Speaking with the manager didn't help at all and only made the situation more unsettling.

Just like the other honest reviews they are processing fraudulent billing claims, charging $1600 for mouth guards, and you certainly do not even get a cleaning unless you do everything in their overpriced extended dental plan. 2+ hours to be sold several unnecessary things when you don’t jump on it they suddenly cannot see you for the cleaning. These people are terrible and I would highly recommend avoiding them at all costs. Read the reviews most are completely false.

After 14 years of loyalty to the dental and orthodontics departments my husband and 4 children have had enough of the rescheduling, pushing of unnecessary procedures, products and services. The doctors are always changing so no personal connection is ever made. The last draw was today 12/24 because they specifically told me they had availability for exam and cleaning. Cassandra in the front office was accusing me of not understanding my dental plan and why it had been over 6 months since I was last in the office. I was actually there 3 weeks ago but because they overbooked my appointment date I was overshadowed by an emergency appointment they needed to get to. Leaving me waiting for an hour until I confronted the staff and rebooked. Customer service does not meet my standards. Experiencia negativa: I don't know who is being paid for writing reviews higher than 2 stars. I went here a couple times and it was terrible. The first time they made me wait for 2 hours in a room that was really cold. I finally came out to where my Dad was sitting (I was 13 at the time) and told him they hadn't done any cleaning or checked my teeth in those 2 hours, after he threw a fit and they tried to defend themselves we left. For some reason he took me back again a week later and I went in there and waited for 1.5 hours then the hygienist came in and did like a 5-minute cleaning on me telling me that I had teeth of a homeless 80-year-old. Then the dentist came in and told me how I needed to buy a mouth wash they had and tried to push that on my Dad when I came out after only being seen for no more than 15-minutes in the span of almost 2 hours AGAIN. I didn't have any cavities and went to a different dentist 6 months later who told me my teeth and gums were near perfection, as I had always been told.

They call me and make sure I have my appointment information correct, which is awesome because I can always use a reminder. Venus and Diana let me into the back and make sure im taken care of. Aileen made me a perfect treatment plan. And doctor Alo had helped me with my crown and fillings. She takes her time and makes sure the jobs done right. I highly recommend Gentle Dental, and will keep coming back every time I need dentistry work.

I read the reviews and thought I would be safe going there. I was so wrong!!!! from the billing to the treatment, I have been going threw it to where I just don't have the energy anymore to try to contact a manager that dose not return calls. If only I could find a dentist/ staff that I could trust and feel comfortable getting my teeth done without being traumatized and feeling like I'm a experiment but cared for that would be great!!!! I have spoken with manager twice and I'm still having billing issues.... This is so unacceptable I have 2 insurances and still paid $1000 out of pocket and there still trying to get $600 from me. I just received a bill yesterday.... For 1 root canal. lol I need help with is location. I had to go to tge Escondido location for a tooth lengthing due to the periodontal they had there was so rude with bo bed side manner. I will end with what he said to me. Experiencia fantástica: I had my second visit to Gentle Dental in Carlsbad today and got to meet my new dentist Dr. Laleh Hedayat. I really appreciate her time as well as Aileen and the hygienists, Venus and Diane (?). Each of them took the time to explain the details of my upcoming treatment plan. I truly appreciate their expertise and ability to help ease any anxiety.

Experiencia fantástica: I love the staff at Gentle Dental in Carlsbad. They are courteous, kind. Professional and GENTLE! I started with them 3 years ago and have no regrets.
Experiencia positiva: I was a pretty loyal patient for a few years, but that last experience was not the best for me. It had always bothered me that they rotate out the dentist, so you are always seeing someone new. The last guy was not friendly at all. I broke a tooth and needed an implant but it was going to be a month before I could get it done because there specialist only comes in twice a month. I was also told I would have to where a flipper for 4 months that I would have to take out every time I ate. I found another dentist that took care of everything in less than one hour. I think I won’t be going back to gental dental.
Experiencia fantástica: Joy is an amazing dental hygienist. I am so thankful to have her take care of my teeth. She is gentle, thorough and brings such positive energy to her work. She is the only hygienist I am willing to see. If you’re lucky enough to schedule an appointment with Joy do it immediately! She is the BEST!!

Experiencia fantástica: Today I had my teeth cleaned with Joy. She was very professional and friendly and did a great, painless job cleaning my teeth. I expressed my displeasure with past visits in which I had to wait after my appointment time and the front office saw to it that I was seen on time. It was a very positive experience!

Experiencia fantástica: The staff are friendly and professional. The doctors are fantastic. My son gets his dental and orthodontic care at the same place, which is awesome. I always know exactly what I am going to owe, because they go over the cost of everything beforehand. I definitely recommend them to others.

Experiencia fantástica: Marlene was absolutely amazing. I told her I was extremely anxious to get my first filling. She spent extra time explaining everything to me. She was humming the whole time which was so comforting. She rubbed my head during the injections. She gave me an ice pack for my head when I was sweating because of nerves. At one point I got really overwhelmed and they stopped and she sat me up and let me breathe and she listened to me. I am so grateful for her and her calming presence. I knew I was in good hands the whole time. She truly deserves a raise because she went above and beyond for me and I’m sure all of her patients feel lucky to have her too.

Experiencia negativa: Just moved to Carlsbad and needed to find a new dentist. This was a waste of time! Made an appointment for cleaning and x-rays. Was at the office for over an hour and never got the cleaning. I have been going to the dentist every six months for 40 years and I have never had an experience like this. Typically x-rays, cleaning and exam takes no more than hour. When I arrived to the treatment chair they said my appointment was only for an exam. I let them know that I absolutely made an appointment for cleaning and they apologized and said they would check the hygienist schedule and never did. Obviously they intended from the start to upsell me on a deep cleaning, otherwise they would have scheduled appropriately. I waited 20 minutes for x-rays and then another 25 minutes for the doctor. Also in all my years I have never had the doctor examine my teeth before getting a cleaning. Every dentist I have ever been to does the exam after the cleaning. Again, another upsell tactic… “the doctor says you need deep cleaning and all these treatments based on your exam…” It’s super shady and wrong. After the x-rays and exam was complete they tried to tell me I needed a deep cleaning. I have been going to the dentist every six months and have zero problems. I just saw my old dentist six months ago and my gums and teeth are healthy with no issues. I take excellent care of my teeth so a new problem didn’t just appear in 6 months. I told them no thanks, just the regular cleaning for me. They refused and said only the deep cleaning can be done. Then had some office guy continue to try and sell me on the deep cleaning and some other unnecessary treatments. I got up and walked out. The chairs are packed in and only separated by cabinets so you can hear everything going on with each patient, their treatment plans, etc. which is a clear HIPAA violation, and I will be reporting. I could hear them upselling everyone, not just me. There was an elderly woman next to me and they were manipulating her and trying to get her to spend a bunch of money she said she didn’t have. So unethical! It’s also very annoying to have to listen to treatments (e.g., drilling, suctioning) going on all around you since they don’t have walls. I will be finding a different dentist and I suggest you do too.

Experiencia fantástica: I am 68 years old and going on my 3rd year with Gentle Dental. I have had all of my oral health care performed there, including orthodontic braces to straighten my teeth. The office staff, technicians, and professionals are excellent...very well trained, and always courteous of your time and comfort...and they use great technology to diagnose your immediate and longer term needs. It is a well-tuned operation that handles all ages and services. I highly recommend Gentle Dental for yours and your families oral healthcare. P.S. - I just had my quarterly cleaning and, I have to say...JOY IS THE BEST!!! I schedule ALL of my cleanings with Joy and, I would definitely ask for her if you choose Gentle Dental!

Experiencia negativa: Honestly surprised that they are still in existence. I had just moved from another state, needed my 6month check up/cleaning. Waited more than 16 min to be called back. Went to a room where I assume a dental tech began to floss my teeth. Kinda strange? My teeth and gums were healthy. Then I did X-rays. After a short time they asked me to go to a back room where they would discuss treatment options? Huh? I then was told my 2 previous fillings and root canel would need to be redone with some other materials because they were old. I said they aren't even giving me trouble.. I Just had to get this taken care of. Treatment plan was for between 2-3 thousand dollars. I walked out and said I'm going for 2nd opinion. Went to Packard Dentall- and not surprisingly they said my teeth were fine- no work required. Patient beware!!!!

Experiencia fantástica: 2024 I have been a patient here for 7 years. I just had my routine visit for hygiene with Joy today and as always, she was nothing short of incredible. She possess an unmatched skill that makes all of her patients love her. Thank you, Joy, for always taking really good care of me and my family. Everybody in this clinic is respectful and professional. They are just so good at what they do so I also make sure I find time to see them. I totally understand that it’s not always going to be at my convenience because I am not the only happy patient they see but they will always try their best to be flexible. Also, thank you, Cecilia for taking care of me today… I appreciate you all! See you next time! 2022 I fractured my crowned tooth and was attended by Dr. Hwang right away. I wanted to have it restored but she was very honest to tell me the risks of doing so. I ended up having it extracted and Dr. Hwang did her magic to put my smile back. Everyone in this office is very nice. I am very thankful to have been referred by my sister-in-law here in this office and I do the same to my families and friends so they get to experience first class dental services. 2021 I am so glad to have found Gentle Dental Carlsbad. There is no doubt that everyone in this office is nice but the level of professionalism is exceptional. I will always be thankful for the life-changing dental restorations I’ve had here. They take your oral health very seriously and are very upfront if the treatment is necessary or for aesthetic purpose. Well, I just thought of expressing my gratitude again to these beautiful people and I will never get tired of giving them compliments because they work hard for it. High five! 2020 Just taking my time to fairly drop some laudable words that they well deserve. I have been their patient for almost 4 years now and I am just glad that I found this dental office. I am very grateful to them for always ensuring cozy and overly satisfying dental experience! I recently had a root canal treatment with Dr. Lakisic and it was an amazingly painless dental treatment that I have ever had. I am also happy with my new orthodontist, Dr. Kisling. She is evidently proficient and really a darling to me and my husband as we both see her for ortho treatments. Dr. Bilguujin and Dr. Hwang are both very caring doctors, well-experienced and knowledgeable. They got great hygienists too! All of their staff are professional and friendly. Thank you! 2017 The norm these days is to rate establishments and the like for the service we get from them. While most patients just walk out happy and content, the ones who would leave a bad review are the people who will never be satisfied with any services rendered by this office provider due to financial reason. They either could not afford the treatment fees or they simply do not want to pay for what their insurances do not cover. In my case, I think about my health so I am paying for what should be done to treat and/or maintain my oral hygiene. Gentle Dental did an amazing job on my initial treatments which are inclusive of extractions, root canal, fixed bridge and crown. I still have a couple of crowns and some fillings to do, and yet, I could not be happier with how healthy I am right now that only Gentle Dental has ever made me feel. They deserve way better ratings! Kudos to Dr. Peter March and his dental assistant, Marlene, for always taking good care of me. Their hygienist, Joy, is just simply the best! All of the staff are so nice, very accomodating and professional. My siblings' dentist, Dr. Hwang, is equally great as mine. Aileen, the office manager, has helped me and my husband out on our financial plan. Way to go Gentle Dental! Thank you!

Experiencia fantástica: I have been with gentle dental Carlsbad since 2005. Friendly staff and very good service. 5/3/2024 I have been too gentle dental again today to see my hygienist. The wait time is hardly 5 minutes. The staff it's quite friendly. I've been with one dentist place for past 20 years. I guess it speaks a lot about that place
