Experiencia fantástica: I was referred to Itani Dental for dental work under sedation after a very traumatic experience with a sinus surgeon left me unable to tolerate sinus and oral surgery without general anaesthesia. They were extremely professional from the very start. They reached out to me immediately after the referral to make sure I had all the necessary paperwork and scheduled me for a consultation the same week. During the appointment, Dr. Itani was very patient with me and extremely respectful of my boundaries around having my face and mouth touched by medical providers. We were able to get X-rays and he explained in detail the work that would be necessary (which aligned perfectly with my previous dentist's thoughts). Afterwards, Thalia walked me through the itemized cost estimates, what my insurance would cover, and the payment options available to me. Unlike most medical services, I left feeling like I had a very good grasp on what was being recommended, why it was being recommended, and exactly how much I was going to be responsible for paying. With all that said, this kind of work does not come cheap. It's just the nature of the game with anything requiring multiple coordinating doctors (as well as an anaesthesiologist). I knew that going into it, and I was very happy that Thalia didn't attempt to sweep that under the rug and instead sat down with me to come up with a game plan and options. Overall, extremely happy with my first experience, and I'm very optimistic about getting the work I need done via Itani Dental.

Experiencia fantástica: I've always been phobic about dentists, not an uncommon "thing." Dr. Itani and his staff helped puncture that fear -- and I have not been an easy patient for him. Complicated medical history warranted me to be hospitalized for what would normally be in-office procedures. Dr Itani can be likened to a maestro -- or producer -- pulling together all that needs to happen to coordinate oral surgeons, himself, hospital staff and the myriad of details that need to be managed. All this while dealing with a problematic patient light on patience and in chronic pain. He handled a very complicated case on accelerated timing like a pro, never once indicating the stress and pressure he must have felt... and never once making me feel like the pain-in-the-ass I know I have been. I even had post-op work that needed to be done -- uncommon for the procedures i had, but then again, I haven't had the best medical luck in recent years. He simply dealt with it in stride, never once indicating how complicated/problematic my situation was/is. He is perennially patient, reassuring and kind. His staff is a reflection of him -- on top of it, extremely thorough and detailed, pleasant, never more than a 5 minute wait. Shout out to Thalia, Greg, Deja (the gentle hand on my shoulder) and everyone else whose name I forgot. This practice is truly a rare gem.

He talk me through the procedure and before I knew it both teeth had been abstracted. No Pain a small pinch from the numbing needle that I thought would just freak me out.
