Experiencia fantástica: I got braces for a period of 24 months. Unfortunately I had a family emergency and had to travel back to my home country. After 5 months I returned back to the San Francisco. I managed to take good care of my braces while I was out of the country. I eventualy scheduled an appointment to be seen again. The staff and doctor were very understanding and supportive. I had missed a lot of my appointments but they really helped me get back on track with my treatment. Im really grateful to them and the amazing work they do. I would highly recommend their orthodontic services.

Experiencia negativa: Avoid treatment with Dr. Yan Kalika and Image Orthodontics. I was sold a 10–12 month treatment plan with no need for rubber bands. Instead, my case dragged on for 2.5 years, marked by repeated delays (some up to 10 weeks), avoidable errors, and a disturbing lack of continuity. I paid in full at the start, but had minimal access to Dr. Kalika throughout my care—only learning much later that he had stepped back from practicing orthodontics to focus on business operations. When I did see him, he was dismissive, forgot key parts of my treatment, and attempted to reference a contract I never signed to avoid fulfilling what I had paid for. Along the way, I experienced avoidable errors—like attachments being glued on incorrectly by an assistant, which had to be painfully removed and redone in the same visit. Communication was inconsistent, and the burden of managing and advocating for my care fell entirely on me. Dr. Kalika’s lack of leadership and handling of my case reflect serious issues with accountability and patient care. I urge others to seek treatment elsewhere. This practice is not what it presents itself to be.

I had a complicated case with him as an adult after having unsuccessful orthodontic treatments as a teen, which he tackled as a total pro. I then brought both of my kids to Dr. Kalika for their orthodontic needs and we couldn't have been happier. Experiencia fantástica: Month 7 of my 18 month treatment with Dr Kalika. So far, I love the staff, the receptionists are super kind, and the dentists are very professional. I was recommended a metal braces treatment over Invisilgn, which I initially regretted but now feel happy about. I was also given a small one time discount as my insurance did not cover the treatment. Overall, I am quite happy with the treatment. Can’t wait to get my 10/10 smile in 2025.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my braces put on today by Marina and she made sure I was comfortable and honestly, it was so quick. She made sure to check on me, if I needed suction or was in pain. Sandy was also great! She helped remove my attachments from a previous invisalign treatment. I was mentally prepared for it to take way longer. The doctors and staff here answered all of my last minute questions and made me confident that I went to the right place. I highly recommend this office, staff, and Dr. Kalika.

Experiencia negativa: This experience started out well, and ended up feeling rushed and inconsistent. I had a hard time getting appointment times that worked for me, and got conflicting feedback and direction from the different doctors I saw. It felt like a high volume medical practice experience, where I wasn’t able to get focused treatment or have conversations about my concerns. During treatment, there was a point where my teeth felt like they were being damaged by my braces, and I wasn’t able to bring this concern up with Dr Kalika- I only got a cursory chat with him. I ended up chipping a tooth. At the end of my treatment, Kalika told me I was done, scheduled my de bond, and when I showed up another doc told me I wasn’t finished, and asked me to sign a release form waiving liability. For several checkups, Kalika had told me I was “almost done” and “going to be done early”. During this time I moved out of state, and was assured appointments would be flexible to accommodate my travel, but it ended up being difficult to get in when I had availability. Altogether, I think the treatment worked, but the experience has not been pleasant.

Turned out that my aligners had been delivered the day before. So instead of turning me away and making me wait for my scheduled appointment that is still a few weeks away, they were able to fit me in so I could pick up my new set of aligners early.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve recently undergone my treatment at Image Orthodontics and my experience was wonderful from the first consultation to the final result. I had a large gap between my front teeth and severe overbite. Dr. Kalika took time to explain all the steps and timeline for my treatment. He clearly explained why traditional metal braces would work better in my case. As for my overbite, I was 41 yo at the time I started wearing braces, but after treatment my overbite has been significantly improved. They took off my braces recently and I noticed a remarkable improvement in how my teeth look.I feel great, my smile is healthier and more attractive. The atmosphere at the office is warm and welcoming. I had to reschedule several times and they’ve always been ready to try to find a time for you even though they are very busy. I would strongly recommend Dr. Kalika and the whole team.

Experiencia positiva: I transferred my braces treatment to this office. The office staff was very friendly however, the day I had my initial appointment the dental assistant who put my brackets on was not friendly at all. I can tell she did not want to do me. She was very short with me then sent me to the bathroom to brush my teeth and rinse. I asked her for a cup she replied their in the bathroom, I told her that there was no cups in the bathroom. Most places give you a big kit and special toothbrush and I asked her she was so rude and was like no we don’t do that.
