Experiencia fantástica: We love Dr. Pang, OPD, and the team members! The office is always super clean, welcoming for families, and full of fun activities to make each dental visit enjoyable. My daughter has been a patient since she was a baby (and is now 16 years old). She loves going to the dentist and we feel so lucky we found OPD when she was so young! All of the staff - front desk to the chair - are sweet, welcoming, and make dental visits fun for my daughter!

Experiencia fantástica: This is a long overdue review. I used to bring my daughter to OPDSF when we lived in the city. She started seeing Dr Pang when she was less than a year old, and I can confidently say these early, fun dental visits helped cultivate my daughter’s love for the dentist and taking care of her teeth. Not only is the office very kid friendly and kind, the doctors are highly skilled, informative, and I know my daughter is receiving the highest quality of care. Even though we have moved, she still talks about her favorite dental assistant Serena who would go out her way to make each visit extra special for my child. If you’re looking for a dental office that will set your child up for a lifetime of positive dental health experiences, this is the place! We miss them dearly, but still recommend OPDSF to all our friends in the city.

Experiencia fantástica: I cannot recommend OPDSF enough! It’s so clear that they’ve thought through every aspect of the patient (and patient parents’) experience. While I did the work of checking to see if they take our insurance, they did the work of verifying authorization and communicated clearly what I would pay and what my insurance would. I got my kiddo there for her appt, and they made her comfortable (well, as comfortable as possible for a toddler who doesn’t like doctors lol). They are friendly and patient, and took time to show my kiddo what would be happening (teeth brushing on a stuffed animal first, etc.) When my kiddo was less comfortable, they helped me soothe her so they could do the cleaning and exam. Plus, they have TVs on the ceilings for kids to watch cartoons as a distraction. I didn’t know what to expect with pediatric dentistry but I’m so glad we found OPDSF because they make things as easy as they can.

The office is very clean and appealing. Dr. Pang did a thorough check up and made sure all our questions were answered.

Her exact words were, "I didn’t feel anything—I didn’t even know she had pulled them out!" Thank you, Dr. Pang and Alex, for taking such great care of my daughter. Experiencia fantástica: Dr Pang and her staff have been the greatest people to help with our kid’s dentistry and their need to develop healthy habits as they have grown over the last 16 years. Dr. Pang’s office always felt like a welcoming place for our young ones, with age appropriate games available before, and rewards after a visit, so our kids felt like it was a treat to go to the dentist. When we did need to address cavities they were very gentle and caring, anticipating what our kids might be going through, and helping to make the experience feel safe, Just the best!

Experiencia fantástica: We just had our first appointment for my 15 month old son and we loved it. Thank you Dr. Ta for being so sweet and kind, making sure he was comfortable the entire time. The entire staff were super kind and professional and we loved our entire visit. I could tell my son was immediately warmed up to the environment which is super important for these types of visits.

Experiencia fantástica: We love Dr. Chen and the staff at OPDSF! Dr. Chen is so kind and patient with my daughter. I was afraid my daughter would be scared of the dentist but she loves going. They do a great job with cleaning my daughter’s teeth and making her feel calm throughout the cleaning.

Experiencia positiva: I came here and got a consultation for orthodontics and the doctor was very nice and answered all my questions and concerns. The lady that took my images was nice, but when she was doing the 3D image of my teeth, she asked me to bite down and she said "no, from the back" and I said I am she freaking goes "oh that's how you bite?"...yes and that's why I'm seeking an ortho to fix! Who the heck says that to a potential patient?? It's my first time ever seeing an ortho and I'm already feeling extremely self-conscious coming as an adult and having to change something that I have been used to for over 30 years, so her comment didn't help with my nerves. It was really uncalled for and frankly insensitive.

Experiencia fantástica: Today we took our 2-year-old son for his very first dental checkup, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience. Every single staff member was absolutely amazing—warm, welcoming, and incredibly patient. They went above and beyond to make our little one feel at ease, with songs, toys, and so many thoughtful touches that made the visit fun and stress-free. I would highly recommend this pediatric dental office in a heartbeat!

Arriving quite early, the reception team kindly recommended a fantastic nearby spot for coffee, turning our early start into a delightful morning. This place is truly a hidden gem! Alex, our dentist, took the time to explain and show my 16-month-old son all the instruments and procedures beforehand. This thoughtful approach made the entire process stress-free and fun for him. Alex and his assistant, a wonderful dental student whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, were brilliant and kind. They even gave my son a balloon, cheering him on for his bravery and good behavior, which made him feel comfortable and made the visit enjoyable. At the end of the appointment, my son received a certificate to join a cavity-free team, which we absolutely loved! Ashley sweetly helped us join the team, explaining everything in detail. Thank you so much for making our day today! Every single detail mattered, and this team executed everything brilliantly, from the front desk to post-appointment care. Experiencia negativa: My daughter has been going to this place for about three years. She has seen different dentists and each one gave me a good impression. Today she met Dr. Chen again, who spoke gently as always. My daughter had the same treatment last year, so I knew it would not be easy today. As expected, she started crying when the anesthetic was injected. During that time, I felt that Dr. Chen and the assistant did not coordinate well. I don’t know if I was overthinking or for other reasons. After the injection, another assistant came in. The second assistant was nice. But she also made a huge mistake, which I still can’t let go of. With her help, my daughter’s mood also improved a little, and then she started her work. I don’t know how to say it because I am not a professional. She told me that she was going to put something in her tooth. When she started, my daughter started crying, and I thought it was normal. After the she finished, my daughter cried even harder and kept saying it hurts!!! Then the assistant called Dr. Chen and said that it might be because the anesthetic was not enough. Then she took out the thing, and Dr. Chen came back to check on my daughter. Dr. Chen checked many areas, but my daughter said it didn't hurt. Then Dr. Chen put the thing into her tooth again. Finally I understood what happened. To make it simple, they tried to put a very thin iron frame into the tooth that she needed to treat. My daughter was given anesthesia and the tooth to be treated was on the left side, but the assistant just did it on the right side without anesthesia. Oh my God, Am I right? How could that happen??? She didn't even know which tooth the patient was treating. How did they communicate? Are they supposed professional? I was really angry at that time, but I kept controlling my emotions because the whole treatment was not over yet. I don't know if it was because of this, my daughter cried from the beginning to the end. After the whole treatment, the assistant came in and apologized to us, would that help? Not at all! I can't imagine how painful it was for a six-year-old, and I don't know what kind of impact it will have on my daughter's teeth. This experience made me feel very guilty, sad, speechless and disappointed. The pediatric dentistry didn't say anything. It was a painful experience!

Alex, the dental assistant was very nice and helpful at keeping us calm. The place is super clean and organized which I really appreciate. When it was time to meet with Dr. Pang, she was very friendly and my daughter eased up a bit and sat in the chair (mostly). She was still scared but Dr. Pang made it fun (as possible) and we got through it. Even though it is far from us, we hope to make this our go-to place. The front desk Clay and Mayo was very kind and efficient. I also had the pleasure of being assisted by Amy, I must say, her dedication and patience truly stood out. Despite Madanrin not being her native language, she went above and beyond to communicate with me effectively, ensuring I felt comfortable throughout the process. Her patience in explaining how to brush my teeth properly was incredibly helpful and made me feel genuinely cared for. Her commitment to providing exceptional care, coupled with her kindness and understanding, made my experience truly memorable.

Experiencia fantástica: My son was reluctant to have his cavities fixed at other dentals. We tried couple other but not working to him until came to OPD. He was so happy here got all his cavities fixed and still wanted to came back. We had Doctor Chen and she was so patient and nice. Definitely recommend her to kids!

Experiencia negativa: Dr Dorothy Pang and Serena are great. However when it comes to customer service on the front desk they are relentless when it comes to refunds. A deposit is placed for holding appointment times. A 48hr cancellation is required or the deposit is taken. I had appointment cancelled at the 49hr mark and I kindly asked for a refund- however the front staff became rude and impersonal. It is frustrating when policies aren’t applied despite being outside the cancellation window.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a fantasy appointment today. My daughters Hannah and Jolene always have such a positive experience at OPDSF. Rita and Dr. Chen were very gentle and very informative about brushing and with X-rays taken. Janelle and Laura were also very helpful in scheduling her next appointment.

Surprisingly both kids are not afraid of the dentist like I was growing up! Speaks loudly of how they are treated at their dentist!

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: We had a scheduling misunderstanding and Melanie at the front desk was rude and handled it very poorly. We had the best experience! My son just turned one and this was his first dentist visit. The entire staff was friendly, patient, and knowledgeable. We’ll be back in 6 months!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Pang and the assistant Mei were great with my 18 month old for his first dental visit. They took their time with him when he got fussy and explained what was going on throughout the appointment. We look forward to coming back in 6 months.

Experiencia fantástica: Updating as of August 2023: We are still taking my daughter here. The dentists are all really great with her and the front office staff are very helpful, too. She loves going (including of course the goodby bags) but they do a great job of listening and supporting her, even when she's scared or nervous. Continue to highly recommend this practice for pediatric dentistry. (Original review): My husband took our daughter for her first ever dental appointment with OPDSF. She just turned a year old. All of the staff were super friendly and welcoming - special thanks to Serena, Annie and Peter who were there on the day. She saw Dr. Mo who did a great job of trying to reassure her when she got a bit nervous. Definitely a great place for children's dentistry where they know how to deal and can support kids in what can otherwise be a scary situation. I took my son there for his annual clean and Alex helped with the initial check up and cleaning and then Dr. Pang helped with the rest. My son has a strong gag reflex and they were able to work him through that process. I am bringing my other child in in a few days. Looking forward to returning for all of our cleanings.

They are very kid friendly and their facilities are really catered to the young ones. Her hygienist Mei was very professional, friendly, & kind. I appreciate how gentle Mei's hands are all while efficiently cleaning and assessing my impatient little girl's teeth. Mei made sure my daughter was comfortable first before doing any work with her. They staff also has a good gauge for when to pull back and not upset the little ones too much. Annie at the front desk was kind and helpful in getting us in and out. Experiencia fantástica: I love Dr. Pang and her staff. The entire office is professional, warm and kind. They honestly care about their patients and parents . The environment of the office is relaxing and playful. They have TVs for the kids to watch during their exams. The staff and Dr Pang do a great job of keeping the little ones calm. My son broke his tooth when he was in elementary school. Dr Pang worked her magic by making a partial "fake" tooth. She is so skilled as a dentist . You can't tell it's fake. He hasn't had any issues 6 years later. Her work was and is phenomenal . She is the best pediatric dentist ever. The office sends Bday wishes every year. They check in via email with important happenings. They truly care about your children.

Experiencia fantástica: It was my sons first visit for a follow up appointment after his dental procedure so he was on edge when he arrived to his appointment, not willing to sit in the chair. Mei was very patient and gentle with my son who was giving us both a hard time. She gave him a token earlier for a prize. Annie and Lauren are both helpful at the front desk when it comes to my questions for billing and insurance. Dr. Chen ended up being my sons dental surgeon for his procedure and her warm demeanor, answer to all my questions through out the entire process (pre op, day of op and post of) and follow up care made this stressful parent moment that much better. Thank you OPDSF staff!

Experiencia positiva: It's a nice office with nice dentist But be prepared to pay a lot. After insurance still $350 per child for simple routine cleaning & check up. $350 is a lot for a simple child cleaning right. Quick, easy polish, check and fluoride runs $700 for 2 kids. Painful Cavity fillings run very high price. After $350 for a filling you may get an additional $100 bill in mail insurance didn't cover. Only decent dental clinic I know of in the city. Prefer paying for preventative care and maintenance at these prices than going to a dirty office. I am paranoid with infection control and cross contamination exposure in dental care. It's still painful to pay these prices

Experiencia fantástica: UPDATE: My son went in for his check-up. The office is still clean and spacious. Check-in, billing, and dental assistant was very kind and patient with a sobbing 2 yo. Dr. Mo was unavailable so Dr. Pang took care of Bryce. Dr. Pang is kind and patient as well, clearly explaining steps for care. I'm very happy with the care provided at OPDSF. ------------------ We were luckily referred to Dr. Mo by a friend. The office was clean and spacious with hand sanitizer at the check-in. Annie & Jamie were working the check-in/check-out process, both friendly and quick. I was led into the room where I heard the familiar sounds of Bryce's fav TV show. My son cried but Serena & Dr. Mo were very patient and clearly explained things before and as they were doing them. Overall a positive experience for Bryce and this neurotic mom.

Experiencia fantástica: Going to OPDSF and Dr. Mo are by far the best decision I've made thus far for my kiddo. Parenting is hard AF and we have so many decisions to make. I agonized over where to have my toddler go for her first dental appointment. Since COVID has been a topic in our house, my child is super anxious with doctors and dentists and anything related to healthcare. She certainly was anxious about her past 2 dental visits, but OPDSF staff and doctors provide such a wonderful experience for both me and my child. I HIGHLY recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr. Mo and her team (Jenny, Annie and Lauren) are awesome. They are super patience, making sure my little one is comfortable and feel at ease during the visit. They even comforted me when my child is crying for the first time. They took their time to wait for her to be ready and after 2 visits she so comfortable she didn't cried on her last (3rd) visit.

Mei was the assistant that helped my child and she is wonderful at her job. They make it a fun experience for the kids with a prize at the end of the visit and if your child has no cavities, they are entered into a monthly drawing where they can win a game or toy. Dr. Chen was extremely kind and you can tell she really enjoys what she does. They all made my child and me feel comfortable and welcomed. If you are looking for a pediatric dentist, this is the place to come to. My child is already asking when is her next visit.

Experiencia fantástica: I brought my toddler daughter here for her second dental cleaning and couldn't have asked for her to have had a better introduction to dentistry! The staff was so welcoming and front desk members Melissa and Lauren spoke to her in a warm and friendly way that made her feel comfortable in this new environment. Serena, the RDA who performed our cleaning, was outstanding. She answered every question expertly and made several excellent suggestions. Dr. Chen was so kind and engaging and made my daughter feel right at home. Both Dr. Chen and Serena made my daughter feel safe enough that she opened her mouth and cooperated the entire appointment. While we were leaving, my daughter blew kisses at her care providers and during the day, she proudly announced multiple times "clean teeth!" Thank you for a great experience!

We recently went I for some fillings and my personal experience with fillings (somewhere else) was very painful so I was concerned about my son having to go through the same. I shared this with Dr. Mo and we exchanged some e-mails with her explaining me the process. During the procedure I was updated and after the procedure she checked in by phone. I’m very pleased with the attention given to my concerns. I highly recommend OPDSF.

Everyone in the front office (shout out Annie and Lauren) were nice and patient while checking us in and out. Mei, the dental assistant, explained everything that was going on during the visit and Dr. Chen was icing on the cake with her kind demeanor and practice. They worked so well with my son, who started crying during the cleaning, and somehow managed to do an assessment, cleaning and flossing They even offered him a stuffed animal to hold and there's a tv to distract. Excellent experience and will definitely return in six months.

Experiencia fantástica: Our first impression was "WOW!" They used advanced technology to view my child's teeth and gums. They had a flat screen TV in the ceiling which helped my baby relax as her exam took place. The office was super sanitary and ALL of their staff were nice. Experiencia fantástica: Safe and clean pediatric dental office with courteous and helpful front desk (Lauren & Annie). Dental assistants Shimei & Mei kept my kids at ease with the most recent visit. My kids have had Dr. Amy Chen attending to their oral hygiene since their first dental visit. She was always friendly and caring, and answered all our questions and concerns.

We've been going there despite the distance from our place and them not taking our insurance anymore (they take upfront pay then submit to insurance on your behalf).

The solution was diagnosed right away and they were able to fix the problem right away without needing to come back for a second appointment. Experiencia fantástica: From the start when my daughter Luna-Nuri was greeted by Lauren and Annie who are so warm and welcoming ,to Mei who was not only thorough in cleaning her teeth but very kind and patient towards her. Ofcourse Dr. Mo is my daughters favorite Doctor by far she always feels very comfortable and leaves happy which is very important to me as a mother , to reassure of her comfort and since the customer service is consistently exceptional she’s always so excited to go to the dentist and loves brushing her teeth even at home which makes my job as mom easier at night . 10/10 recommend.

He eventually had to have oral surgery and when there was no room available at his hospital the OPDSF team worked relentlessly to get another hospital approved. My daughter, who was a little nervous, felt at ease once she laid back in the chair and saw a screen in the ceiling playing her favorite Netflix show. Joan, the dental assistant, walked Lucy through every step and gave her a lot of positive reinforcement for following instructions. I think they do a terrific job of explaining all of the potential costs and dental needs. At the end of her dental exam, Lucy was even offered a choice of a take-home toy. Thank you OPDSF!

They were able to teach me how to brush her teeth properly, and how to hold her lovingly but strongly as she squirmed a bit. I felt so much more confident brushing her teeth. We are so grateful to the OPD family for her radiant smile and her superb dental health! If I could sum up our experience over these years, I would note the gentle, thorough and compassionate care our daughter has received. Just yesterday, I was waiting for my daughter to finish her visit and a mother was walking out with her daughter, not much older than our daughter when she started seeing Dr. Pang. Hand in hand, the mother turned to her child and asked, "are you still afraid to go the dentist?" And the little girl chirped with a bright smile, "no Mommy."

With COVID-19 precautions and early appointments for school schedules, the entire office helped us get through 2 girls who were nervous but left with gleaming smiles swiftly to start our day. I’m very impressed with the staff and facilities and have made OPDSF are “go-to” place for the kids dental care. Originally discovered OPDSF when I was looking for a dentist for my son & daughter. The staff are all friendly and professional. They answer all my questions and do excellent work. The kid-friendly environment and warm colorful decor definitely help calm my daughter who can be a “nervous nelly”. The TV on the ceiling during exams is a great touch to keep kids calm and distracted. My daughter liked the dental goodie bag at the end of the exam. An excellent blending of function, style and care. I am very satisfied.

Like others have said, she really is wonderful and sweet. But most importantly, she has the manual dexterity skills and works with a soft touch! (As parents working in the OR, we noticed). Her assistants, like Mei, do a great job with the cleanings. Ryan & Annie from the front desk are efficient and thorough. I like that they always give you a statement of services at checkout. From the receptionist to the dentist they are all so kind and patient. Our recent visit just reminds me how much we love this place. Dakota my 5 year old was a bit nervous because she hasnt been in a little while. Serena was so great she laughed joked talked to dakota about her favorite cartoons all while keeping her calm and cleaning her teeth. She also in a fun positive way encouraged her to clean her teeth and talked to her about how to keep her teeth nice and healthy. The Dentist came checked the kiddos teeth gave her goodies and talked to Dakota and she even walked her out which was so cute. One of Dakotas favorite parts was the ladies at the front Annie and Anna gave her a ticket tobput in a box for the cavity free club. Seriously she wod not stop talking about that lol. She ran into the house to tell her dad she made it to the club lol. All and all amazing visit. Ladies you all are rock stars thank you for taking care of my babies!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Dr Amy Chen is my 11 years old girl’s dentist since toddler. She is a wonderful and sweet dentist always providing outstanding service. Super kid friendly! A few months ago, my girl had an accident in school and broke some incisors badly. Dr Amy immediately arranged us an emergency appointment and spent the whole afternoon helping my girl to fix her teeth and remove all fragments inside her gum and mouth. My girl recovered really quick and well. And she also has good teammates working in the office. On Monday, we went to the office for regular cleaning. Her assistant Mei was very patient and spent an hour to clean up my girl’s yellow teeth. They are all white now ! Moreover, she showed my kid how to brush and floss the teeth correctly. Phenomenal Team!

Experiencia fantástica: We love OPDSF! My daughter had some serious dental issues, so she has severe anxiety going to the dentist. She had a number of visits that required intense and deep dental work (which, because of the nature of having to spend so much time at the dentist dealing with pain and issues, evidently leads the patient to fear going to the dentist more and more), but OPDSF was able to resolve it and my child's teeth are perfect now! At her last check-up, there were no issues/cavities at all! Both my daughter and I were so happy about this, that due to this positive interaction, I know her anxiety will decrease each time she goes to the dentist now! The knowledge, expertise, and professionalism of these dentists are OUT OF THIS WORLD. They are seriously probably the best dentists in the city, if not the whole Bay Area! Additionally, the dentists (Dr. Pang, Dr. Mo) and dental assistants (Mei and Rita) who work here are incredibly patient with my child. I feel terrible about how long it took them to clean her teeth due to her anxiety, but they've never conveyed impatience or annoyance with us. Their admin staff are really great as well. They are responsive, do a great job of providing details for upcoming appointments, and abide by COVID protocols (while still remaining flexible depending on the situation). Though I moved out of the city and are even out of network with my dental insurance now, we still come here because of the high quality of service, care, and comfort my daughter experiences at OPDSF!

Experiencia fantástica: Our kids love going to the dentist, they even look forward to it, and I don’t think most people can say that. The entire team seems to understand kids will have healthier teeth if they have a good experience at the dentist. They are kind and patient with each kid. Plus the office is basically a day spa for kids - there are movies, shows, prizes, etc. Serena was great with our three year old, and Lauren and Martha took good care of us out front. They are no longer in network with Delta Dental, which stinks. For now, we’re still ok paying more to keep going there, but we’re going to keep an eye on the cost.

Experiencia fantástica: The moment we learned that our almost 4-year old son’s tooth had to be extracted, we were sad, nervous, and very hesitant. Upon visiting OPDSF, Dr. Chen and her assistant Rita walked us very clearly what needs to be done, why, and how they are going to perform the extraction. It was so convincing and we became very comfortable, especially how they communicated with our little one that we decided to go ahead with the extraction immediately! Less than half an hour later, the extraction was completed and we were so happy that our little one remained brave and everything went very smoothly. We were given clear guidance for post-extraction care and Dr. Chen followed up with a phone call the next day. We would like to say thanks to the whole team including Annie and Martha at the front desk for their assistance. Thank you!
