The fact that I know everyone’s names, tells you something about this place and how long people stay there. They open at 7am — great for early morning appointments vefore work! The entire team from receptionists all the way to Dr. Hinkle himself are all quite frankly elite within their field. From a knowledge perspective alone you will not find a more well educated and intelligent level of expertise in the field of dentistry. Technologically there a few offices that can say they have the cutting edge of equipment as the majority of equipment in the field of dentistry has been around for many years. However, whenever there is a technological innovation within the field, Hinkle Dentistry will have it. A perfect example of this is the Air Flow used during cleanings that I personally have never seen at any other practice. When it comes to professionalism, friendliness, and environment of the office, you can not go wrong with Hinkle Dentistry. Their office always feels incredibly warm and welcoming. For many people a visit to the dentist for a cleaning or check up can be a source of anxiety. Visiting the Hinkle Dentistry office is an experience completely devoid of anxiety. In fact it is an incredibly relaxing experience. Both my mother and myself who are both patients at Hinkle Dentistry have described getting a cleaning from Denise as being like a trip to the spa and when I leave I feel like I have a brand new set of teeth. Lastly, I personally recently went through a very difficult process recovering from specific condition and Dr Hinkle himself was instrumental in helping with my recovery from that process both directly and indirectly. I have nothing but good things to say about the entire practice and could go on forever. I will end with this statement, Hinkle Dentistry is the greatest experience at any dental practice I have ever had. Absolutely 5 stars.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hinkle is incredible. Dr. Hinkle was recommended to me by a friend who is also a dentist. I came to him because I was very worried about bone loss around my implants and had been told by a very alarmist previous dentist that I would need surgery and replacement implants immediately. Dr. Hinkle spent the time to make sure I really understood what was going on and all my options. He was very honest and level headed and did not cause me to worry at all. He completely put my fears to rest and I feel very confident in the care I received and the plan we established. I have never been to better dentist. I feel so lucky to have found Dr. Hinkle! Eric at the front desk is also so nice and helpful and overall everything with Hinkle Dentistry was great!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hinkle and his staff are top notch. They are not only highly skilled and trained but they are excellent for busy adults who appreciate expediency. They are waiting for you when you arrive, have your entire health history online to speed you through the process, and you finalize your next appointment before you even leave the chair. That plus the (optional) warm blanket and headphones makes going to the dentist a LOT less "painful".

Fantastic experience: Bita is the best!! She is so friendly and puts you at ease the whole time. She does a very thorough and patient job cleaning and I appreciate her explanation of my teeth/gums to help me understand how to properly brush and take care of my mouth to prevent issues down the line. She normally doesn’t use the brush tool that sounds like drilling when cleaning, but a water-based one instead and it is soo much more pleasant! I don’t dread the dentist anymore because Bita is so nice and makes me feel comfortable and is gentle and my teeth feel clean and great, what more could you ask for

Fantastic experience: In most cases a trip to the dentist can instill fear and anxiety. But when you go to Dr. Hinkle‘s office, it’s like going to a five-star resort! You are greeted by friendly staff, and quickly escorted to the exam room. The equipment is state of the art. My sense is that this office is equipped with all of the latest dental technologies. I compare their practices with family and friends and no body comes close. My hygienist, Bita, was extremely professional, friendly, and gentle. She did an excellent job! Dr Hinkle did a great exam as well. The visit ended with a warm cloth and a small breakfast frittata because I had an early appointment. You won’t have anxiety going to Dr.Hinkle and you’ll leave with a sparkling smile!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Hinkle and his team are absolutely top notch. They use the latest technologies and are very thorough so I know my dental care is in great hands. The technology they use to clean your teeth just feels like a pleasant warm rinse. It’s completely painless but effective. In addition to this, the staff treats clients like welcome guests. The interactions almost feel like you are at a spa…with a hot towel and mint presented on a silver tray after your fluoride treatment (with the choice of lemon or lavender scent), a warm blanket upon arrival, headphones with music available to relax you, and, today…a warm egg bite wrapped in a beautiful box as I left because it was breakfast time. You honestly need to experience it to believe it. They are setting the bar of excellence for other practices to follow.

Fantastic experience: I recently saw Dr. Andrew Hinkle and his hygienist Denise, and can’t recommend them enough. They are both absolutely amazing professionals, very detailed oriented and honest, with great work ethics. The rest of the staff is very personable and really know what they’re doing. Dr. Hinkle is very warm and kind, and devoted a full hour to do a thorough exam and to explain his findings. He has the most up-to-date technology and very clean and elegant office space. He’s very articulated and was able to explain very well and in detail his recommendations to improve my dental health from a functional point of view (as opossed to improve things aesthetically). Then Denise did the routine cleaning using technology only available to 5% of dentists in US. It was painless and more efficient. I really suggest you try it to see for yourself. I should also mention the cookies, snacks, beverages and other pampering available such as the warm lavender towel after the profilaxis and props to make you more comfortable. I honestly got so relaxed, that I almost fell asleep. I would give them 10 stars if available!

During many years I have seen many good and not so good Dentists and had a lot of dental work done. Based on my experience I would rate Dr Hinkle work as excellent and by far the best!! The dental practice was just starting up with Dr. Alan Hinkle who was our family dentist for many years before he retired and passed down his practice to his son, Andrew who is currently our family dentist. Both father and son have created a family friendly, professional dental practice with skilled dental hygienists, state of the art equipment, and an amiable and efficient office staff. The waiting area is especially welcoming with a slide show of Dr. Hinkle’s young children which was put up at the request of his patients who feel like family and enjoy viewing pics of his children. Our family, including my parents, our children and grandchildren, have all received the best of care with the Hinkle Dentistry. Fantastic experience: My name is Mac and I have been a patient of Hinkle Dentistry for the past two years. I am delighted with their treatment of me. For example, today I went in for a teeth cleaning, With welcoming smiles, I was greeted by the friendly receptionists and then introduced to “Bita” the dental hygienist. Bita was very accomplished; she: clearly outlined the steps she would follow in cleaning my teeth; carefully, gently, and thoroughly carried out those steps, and — when she was finished — offered me a warm face towel (lemon or lavender… I chose lavender). The whole experience was very pleasant and efficient. The reception area is very welcoming. The area is now charmingly decorated for Halloween—Hinkle Dentistry is a kid friendly practice — and Chocolate chip cookies are available, as well as coffee, tea, bottled water and a daily newspaper for adults. Hinkle Dentistry is a superb practice and I am glad I am their patient. Mac

Negative experience: Buyer beware! First the good - I agree with many of the other reviews, this was a lovely office, the team was very nice, and I thought the care was very good. However, despite asking before my visit if Hinkle Denistry took my insurance (the receptionist said they did), I found out at the end of my visit that I should have read the "fine print" in their financial disclosure. They are pay for performance, which means you have to immediately pay for the service (which was $800 for first visit consultation, standard xrays, and cleaning) before getting your insurance to cover and they are out of network for all insurance companies. I have pretty good insurance, usually fully covers this type of service and I only received ~$150 from insurance coverage. When I complained to Hinkle Dentistry, they offered a $200 rebate, but that does not even cover half of the costs. If I had known the costs going in, I would not have come to this dentist; so despite the good care, unless you are willing to pay high prices, I recommend you go elsewhere until Hinkle Dentistry affiliates with insurance carriers.

Fantastic experience: The Hinkle Dental practice is excellent, the best I have experienced in my 40+ years of Metro area experience with several other dental practices. My dental hygienist, Denise (1 of 2) is efficient in all of the necessary cleaning procedures, but really shines in terms of asking questions at every visit, taking nothing for granted based on my records. Dr. Hinkle has treated me for five years in coordination with my visits to a periodontist for dental implants. All of my procedures have been performed well and when I was concerned about a sore in my mouth, getting a same-day appointment was easy. I have experienced several actinic keratosis problems on my lip; and as a child I was administered nasopharyngeal, radium treatments for tonsils, so the dental examinations at every visit to the Hinkle practice have resassured me. From what I have experienced, this dental practice is the best of the best.

Fantastic experience: Hinkle Dentistry is great. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible. The whole staff are very professional and make going to the dentist as painless as possible. Their space/tools/techniques are very modern and you can tell the whole staff are very up to date on the newest training and methods in dentistry. Case in point they use a new technique using Airflow technology to clean teeth that doesn’t require the scalpel approach that leads to your teeth being poked and prodded and left bleeding. It was a great experience!

Their interest in your personal life, along with ensuring all your dental needs are met are one of a kind. Many years ago, during my regular cleaning, Alyssa noticed that one lymph node felt larger than normal and turned to the Dr, Hinkle to check it for her. He asked if I had a cold recently and when I said I had not, he recommended that I go check it out to make sure it was not of a more serious condition. Trusting his word, I went to get checked and the tests turned out positive for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Since then I received months of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant and am in remission with many thanks to Dr. Hinkle and Alyssa. I LOVE THEM! They exude warmth and comfort the minute you walk into their office. They are FAMILY! ox

Fantastic experience: From the moment you walk into the office, and are greeted with a warm welcome by Eric, until the moment you leave, you are treated with kindness and great dental care. I am a returning patient (recently moved back to McLean) and would not trust my teeth to any other team of professionals. Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful -- and painless -- first visit. I'm terrified of dentists and Dr. Hinkle was lovely – very informative and understanding and easy to talk to talk. Denise, the hygienist, was very incredibly attentive and light-handed. I'm used to perio cleanings hurting and this barely made me wince. They were both awesome. And the staff was so helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.

I have been fortunate to experience the practice under both Dr. Alan Hinkle and his son Dr. Andrew Hinkle, and there is no difference.
