Fantastic experience: When I asked friends to suggest a dentist several highly recommended Dr Friedman’s practice. I had my first visit yesterday, and I see why. After I was given a very thorough series of X-rays and images, Dr Friedman took time to explain what issues he saw—one of which other dental providers had missed! I told him about my medications and family history of gum disease and tooth loss, then he told me of several options for follow up periodontal care. One was a periodontist who might be able to do a less invasive procedure than full oral surgery, which could be a better option for me. He made the referral, plus a plan for follow up with him. I learned years ago that having a first-rate doctor is important not only for their care, but for the quality of the referrals they make. After watching my mother struggle to pay for implants at $4-6K per tooth, I take my dental care seriously. I feel like I’m in good hands now, with the best possible shot at preserving my teeth.
Thank you for sharing such a detailed review. We’re so glad you felt you were in good hands, especially with the thorough exam, the time taken to explain everything, and the referral to support your periodontal care. Your trust and thoughtful perspective mean a lot to us.

Ask about their health care plans too—they are more cost-effective than my employer-sponsored dental plan.

Kayla and Sarah at the front desk are so welcoming and friendly — they make the atmosphere warm and inviting from the moment you walk in. They’re also incredibly clear and helpful when it comes to scheduling, billing, and all the insurance details, which I really appreciate. Lisa, my hygienist, was quick, gentle, and had me laughing the whole time. Dr. Friedman is always friendly, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything clearly. I know he has my best interests at heart, which means a lot. Thanks so much to the entire team for making each visit such a positive experience! See you next time!
Thank you for taking the time to share this kind note. It means a lot to us to know you feel supported with scheduling, billing, and care. We’ll be sure to pass your compliments along to the team. Looking forward to your next visit.
Positive experience: I’m likely done with this place. Billing has been a junk show, answers to questions have been misleading and the “final” or “”confirmed” numbers change without reasonable explanation. Interactions with the dentist and his work feel above average. His hygienist's seem to turn over regularly so it’s hot or miss for a good one. Three stars is generous if they haven’t figured out their billing issues.

Negative experience: One of the worst run dental offices in Colorado. Their office manger yelled and my wife and 93 year old mother for asking questions about insurance coverage. We stopped attending their office over a year ago go and they just contacted us after 14 months with a +$1000 bill. Friedman is a decent dentist but the office manager is (was?) a nightmare. There are so many better choices for dental offices in Boulder. Stay away from this train wreck.
Kamran, thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, we had SO many problems with our previous office manager. We have since removed her from the team and we are working diligently to clean up her messes. Please contact us directly so we can help
Fantastic experience: We have been patients for over 20 years. Dr Friedman is fantastic and the staff is always prompt and professional! His new hygienist Valerie is wonderful…smart, interesting and thorough
Thank you so much for your review! We love having you guys!
Fantastic experience: I have been visiting Boulder Smile Design for almost 4 years. I’ve had regular cleanings, cavities filled, 3 crowns and a tooth extracted. I’m generally not a fan of pain and of holding my mouth open for extended periods of time, except when I’m singing. And yet I must admit that Dr. Friedman and his staff do a great job of making my visits a pleasant experience. They are professional, calm, organized, and skilled in their craft. I heartily recommend that anyone consider visiting BSD for their dental care.

Fantastic experience: My daughter got Invisiline to straighten her teeth. What a great process! It’s been smooth sailing all the way to straight teeth. She is even willing to wear a retainer to maintain the straight teeth. A parents seam (I’m glad her teeth qualified her to use Invisiline instead of braces!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Friedman is a knowledgeable and passionate dentist who is fully centered around his patients. With top of the line technology, he has mastered the art of dentistry and will surely take care of you to the best of his skillset. Dr. Friedman stays active in learning and advancing his skills with attending seminars and staying active in educational functions. I know he is proud of his work. I don’t trust many with my teeth, but I trust him!
Thank you for your kind words and trust in Dr. Friedman. We're glad to hear that his dedication to patient care and continual learning resonated with you. If there's anything else we can assist you with, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Fantastic experience: Dr. Friedman is extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. My case was complex -- needing crowns on my two top front teeth, but with very little space between them and my lower teeth. Because of the limited space, they needed to be thin, yet strong. They also needed to match my surrounding natural teeth as much as possible, which have high translucency. Dr. Friedman researched materials and called the lab to determine the best material for my crowns. Then, he wouldn't stop trying and working with the lab until I was completely satisfied with how they looked and felt. I am extremely picky and sensitive, so this wasn't an easy job for him, but he was patient and understanding until the very end, and I couldn't be happier with how they look now. People cannot tell I have crowns unless I point them out, even dental professionals. All the staff at Dr. Friedman's office are very professional and empathetic. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Friedman and his practice.
Thank you for sharing your positive experience and for your kind words about Dr. Friedman and our team. We're glad we could meet your expectations, especially given the complexities involved. If there's anything more we can assist you with in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out.
