Concho Valley Family Dental; Dr. Jay E. Fandel, DMD

Fantastic experience: I had a short time to get quite a few things done before my insurance and FSA from my employer ran out. This office did a great job getting me scheduled and figuring out the best way to do my insurance. Dr Fandel was a super cool fellow and did a great job with my dental work. I've never had a dentist call me later in the day after dental work to see how it was feeling, that really stood out. My only complaint was an issue with insurance where one of my account numbers was entered into their system incorrectly, no big deal. But I kind of felt like when they told me it wouldn't be covered and that I owed money I was treated a bit like a pariah, a staff member told me. "I wouldn't even try contacting them, they are not going to cover it". I immediately did and found it was an administrative mistake on the office's part. Everything was covered, all was well. Despite this, I highly highly recommend Dr Fandel and his office to anyone looking for a dentist.

We were greeted upon walking in the door by friendly front office staff members. We were both taken back soon after. Our paperwork was reviewed and our treatment performed was very thorough. She also quickly cleaned my teeth with little discomfort. I will return. It has been a year since I wrote the post above and I am still happy! Concho Family Dental has been a wonderful experience! I just love McKenzie. She is very thorough yet strives to make everything as comfortable as possible. Dr. Fandel is awesome as well! He takes the time to visit with you and make sure that all your dental concerns are answered. Until now, I have always dreaded going to the dentist. Concho family dental has changed how I feel about the dental office. If you are like me and put off going to the dentist, give them a try!

Fantastic experience: I cannot say enough about how wonderful Concho Valley Family Dental is. My son was so nervous about the dentist and Jessi was so patient with him! She talked with him and made him comfortable. She comforted him with such kindness. He was able to get his teeth cleaned and left saying “I liked her!” Which is a miracle. I’m so thankful for the kindness of her and Dr Fandel rather than the aggravation and frustration we have received from others before. 100% recommend!

Fantastic experience: I had a broke tooth they said they could get me in to look at it and see what they could do. 1 hr later called me saying they had cancelation and got me in 8 o clock next morning. He worked me in in between patients and was amazing!!! I'm so thankful for them and they are the sweetest people. I highly recommend them!! And I HATE THE DENIST. THEY WERE WONDERFUL!!

My son has special needs, and after visiting multiple dentists across West Texas with no success, this was the first office that truly took the time to work with him. The staff was incredibly patient, kind, and understanding. They focused on building his trust and never rushed him—and because of that, he willingly participated and even allowed them to take x-rays. This experience was a huge win for our family. I can’t recommend them enough, especially for families with special-needs children.

Fantastic experience: The past year as a patient with Concho Dental has been so good for me. I can chew food with both sides of my mouth, my teeth are clean, and I can smile with confidence and not worry about having bad breath. The entire staff is awesome, and the atmosphere is great. Today I went back for a filling, and was given the choice before making the appointment to have one of Dr. Fandel’s associates fill in for him as opposed to a future appointment with Dr. Fandel. I agreed. The process was seamless. The team was excellent. I knew I could trust that Jay Fandel only trusts his patients to consummate professionals.

Fantastic experience: Dr Fandel is the best on west Texas ! When he goes to Standard gold family dental in Odessa I was really anxious before my visit, but the dentist completely put me at ease. His skills truly showed when he gave the local anesthesia—I barely felt a thing. He was so smooth and gentle with the injection, it was over before I even realized it. Throughout the whole procedure, he communicated clearly and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. His expertise and calm demeanor made all the difference. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Negative experience: *update: I needed local care post operative and when my daughter posted a 1 star review, Dr Fandel felt it was appropriate to literally threaten me in a voicemail (which I still have) he stated that if she didn't take the the review down, she would be sorry. What does that even mean coming from someone I thought was professional and ethical? It is appropriate for the doctor to reply to her review but to call me and threaten her safety over a 1 star review? I will never return to his office and I am curious if I'll be receiving a threatening message to remove this. I kept all the voicemails and texts. _---------- Shortly after moving to San Angelo I had a dental emergency and while Dr Fandel was not available to see me, he referred me to an excellent oral surgeon. He even called to follow up and make sure I was seen. I appreciated his thoroughness and compassion so I chose him as my dentist. I've had a cleaning and 2 cavities filled so far and I really like Dr. Fandel and his staff. Everyone has been professional and personable making the process a lot easier and less stressful. Highly recommend!

He was very patient with me when I was experiencing anxiety, he’s personable and doesn’t make you feel like just another number. He pulled 4 of my teeth today and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. He even called me later in the evening to check on me which I’ve never had any type of doctor do. His assistant Mark was extremely knowledgeable and explained every step of the process thoroughly. All in all I am satisfied with this dentist and will definitely recommend him to anyone needing care.
