I was very disturbed by this diagnosis because I prided myself with my excellent oral care. Dr Desantis was very comforting and I was very comfortable with her immediately. She is one of the most gentle and caring dentists I have ever been to. I am 78 years old so I have been to quite a few dentists in my lifetime. Dr. Desantis, explained everything in detail about my treatment plan. After every treatment she personally called me, to see how I was doing. She also gave me her personal cellphone number, in case I needed her. That was a first for me. She is a wonderful person, as well as a very competent compassionate periodontist. It certainly was a stoke of luck that I found her. Her office is so clean and calming just a relaxing environment. Her staff is also so professional and personable. Fantastic experience: I found Dr.DeSantis kind of by accident and what a happy accident it was. My dentist recommended her office to do a scan I needed done. Dr. DeSantis made me feel comfortable right away. She did the exam. She assured me she could help me. I then had my appointment. I have NEVER had a better experience at the dentist. I was very nervous she met me at the door sensed my fear and got me right into the chair. She explained what was going to happen. I DID NOT FEEL the needles, I felt no pain at all. How is it possible? I have not had any pain and, I have stitches. Dr. DeSantis and the staff walked me through it all and, their knowledge and caring came thru every step of the way. I got an almost immediate appointment to see Dr. DeSantis and she suggested an alternate solution to the problem instead of just removing the tooth. She did what I thought was the right thing instead of doing the simple extraction. Her caring of patients teeth is just amazing. I’m just glad I found her! They are the doctors who explain a medical condition, the treatments for same, and possess the skills to perform the needed surgery. Dr. DeSantis not only did all of the aforementioned, but possesses a personality that expresses how truly concerned she is regarding your oral health. Additionally, she not only provides you with follow up instructions at the end of the procedure, but gives you her personal cell number. I know of no doctor that does that!
