Fantastic experience: Have been going to this practice for around 50 years. As a young man, I started with Dr. Heidenreich in Marshall Michigan. He then went into partnership with Dr. Hoekwater Just off division Avenue south. I stayed with Dr. Hoekwater after Dr. Heidenreich retired. And now I’m on to the next generation. Besides all of the doctors being excellent, including the kids, they are great Christian family men as well. We moved to Florida for about 10 years and I couldn’t find a good dentist there so I would come back to Grand Rapids just for dentistry. We are now moved back to Michigan and one of the big reason was for doctors and dentist. I highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I do not normally do reviews but after having quite a bit of work done yesterday by Dr. Jamie I need to express my thanks for an amazing experience. He had to remove a crown to fix a cavity underneath and then make and install a new crown as well as repair a couple other teeth. I woke up this morning and would never know that my mouth was worked on yesterday. No pain or discomfort anywhere. The crown fit perfectly. Thanks, Jamie for getting so much done in 1 appointment. That translates to years! I've never had a single problem with any of the folks at Heokwater Family Dentistry. First rate all the way always 100%.

Fantastic experience: Not sure even where to start....My primary Dentist for over 50 years had retired during process or procedure I was getting done. In order for that to be completed correctly and without issues down the road, "Time" itself ran out. However, my primary, now retired Dentist provided a reccomendation of whom I should go to. I don't like changes overall, but in this case I had no choice. Anyways, after one phone call I knew without any doubt this was place to go. Very professional staff, stated what they would do and actually did what they said. I did not have to follow up with anything or anyone. Just showed up for an appointment and everything was ready to go. Truly a world class facility, staff members exceeded even my expectations. Answered any and all questions with both confidence and accuracy. Followed up with my options sooner than planned. I tend to ask way too many questions, every single one was answered. If anyone is looking to make a change or trying to find an organization that has you as patient in their best interest, this without any doubt whatsoever is the place to go. You as a person and patient will be completely taken care of. No surprises either. Although I don't always make good decisions, I definitely did with this one. I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Again, this is a world class facility from top to bottom.

We relocated from the east side of Michigan and have been patients at several dental offices in and around the area (including Hudsonville), and none compare. From the moment you walk in, you’re treated with respect and kindness. The entire team—from the front desk to the dentists—is incredibly warm, friendly, and genuinely cares about their patients. Scheduling is easy, they’re flexible with work schedules, and every visit is a pleasant experience. My family and I always feel comfortable and well taken care of. We couldn’t recommend Hokewater Dental more!

I am constantly asked if I am doing okay, how I am feeling and explained the steps along the way. Comfort 10/10 courtesy 10/10 all around 10/10 if you are looking to change, I vote Hoekwater!

Negative experience: Avoid They inserted themselves into a custody issue by providing a letter of support to the court that the mother is primary caregiver because she has taken the children to a majority of the appointments. This is beyond inappropriate and is not acting in the best interest of the children. As a medical professional I would never get involved in situations outside of the patients care. The mother has tremendous flexibility and works very limited hours which made more sense for her to take them to appointments and would not be representative of the overall care for the children. I would certainly find somewhere else unless to go unless you want your dentist entangled in politics! The dentists seemed like pretty reasonable guys but the office practices concerning such an issue are wildly inappropriate. Shame on them and honestly I would probably encourage you to go somewhere else who will not insert themselves into personal issues.

Fantastic experience: Just had my teeth cleaned and a few x rays by Tai. She's the BEST! Good experience, professional, kinda fun and now you get to even emerge yourself in a truly VEN experience while watching YouTube during your cleaning. What a dentist!!!

Fantastic experience: I'm 71 with a complicated dental history. I woke up on a Friday morning with pain in my jaw and panicked because the weekend was coming. Leah, at Hoekwater Dentistry's front desk, allowed me to come right in. It was a relief to know there was no infection visible on X ray. Dr Ryan explained that the pain was likely due to night time clenching (I need a night time mouthguard), but assured me that one of their dentists would be on call all weekend if I had further discomfort. He was so patient and kind, even though their day was fully booked! Shout out to Elizabeth, too, for leading me through the process with compassion!

Fantastic experience: They were able to get me in last minute for pain I had been experiencing. I felt heard, safe, and the problem was addressed. The front desk staff and scheduling was also incredibly easy and delightful to work with. I won’t be going anywhere else for dentistry from now on.
