Fantastic experience: This was my 1st time having a root canal and I was very nervous since I have a fear of going to the Dentist. But I have to say Dr. Mehta made me feel at ease. She is very caring and comforting as well as her assistant Lisa. Dr. Mehta called me after the 1st of three sessions to ensure I was doing ok. You don't get that kind of treatment anywhere now a days. The office staff is very nice as well. I am overall very happy with the service and recommend SMILE AND SHINE DENTISTRY in Belleville 100 %.

Fantastic experience: My first time to this dentist and it was amazing the x-ray technician, I think her name is Lisa, I'm not sure but I usually gag with the x-rays. She had me having so much fun. I only gagged once or twice. Doctor Mehta was awesome. She gave me the choice to have the work done on that visit instead of making me go back several times. Also, she was very honest and very point blank about the treatment that I needed. And finally as much as I dislike going to the dentist. They made me feel so good and I had such a nice time with them that I can't wait for my next visit............ It's been approximately 3 years since my first visit and I'm still going to doctor Metah. Every time I walk into the office, I feel like I'm visiting family. Everyone is so nice and so professional. They make you feel so welcome that I am no longer afraid to go to the dentist.

Negative experience: Dentist is very rude and curt, whole office is dingy. Pushed whitening treatment and unnecessary fillings. didn't even offer rinse after filling (LOL, whole thing is covered in plastic so you can't use it, what's the pt?). Expensive filling, not thorough cleaning which will only be that price once(doesn't even have hygienist, does cleanings herself), and on top of that my filling fell out in 6 months. I have had over 30 fillings in my life on all different teeth and never had that happen. I don't ever write reviews but my experience was so poor I felt I had to to prevent other people from experiencing the same thing. I'm out 175 dollars, would never go back here to have them fix it since my experience was so poor. They beg you to review so it skews it higher, some are fake. STAY AWAY PLEASE

Negative experience: Literally nothing good to say about this tooth-mill. I assisted in obtaining appointment for my partner around June 2025, but when he went, the DDS doesn't match the sign, he was treated like a nuisance and wasn't even allowed to spit in the sink as is standard practice during a cleaning because this practice completely blocks off their patient sinks! (this is 2025, not 2020!) Two fillings were performed - one so substandard that he had to return for an adjustment due to pain. The adjustment performed was dissatisfactory, leading to additional pain and discomfort until it fell out on its own 7 months later. What a waste of time and money having to get second opinions and additional work at ANOTHER DENTAL PRACTICE to fix her shoddy work!

Fantastic experience: On the Web I found Smile N Shine, I was experiencing a toothache. Luckily I was able to be seen on the same day with their busy schedule. I was quickly assessed, educated , and decision making was addressed within a short period of time along with a follow up. Smile N Shine is the definition of what we call (Health-CARE). Negative experience: I will never call this place again or recommend to anyone . I do not know what was funny about me inquiring more information about the insurances this place takes. Also if a patient has insurance and doesn’t not want to pay out of pocket why would anyone laugh that someone can’t pay $99 dollars as a “special”.

Everyone is so friendly, kind and especially patient with kids. Dr. Mehta is so sweet and personable. We've had short to no wait times upon arrival and thorough cleanings in a timely manner. Fantastic experience: Made an appointment online and was called back to confirm in less than an hour. When I arrived for my appointment (about a week later), I was greeted warmly, and after filling out a brief intake form, was brought into the exam room. The dental hygienists were great in doing my x-rays. Dr. Mehta was wonderful; incredibly friendly and gentle. The entire experience was a breeze!

Fantastic experience: Haven't been to the dentist in a very...very long time. New patient and they are just great. Had 3 fillings and as someone who has avoided dentists like the plague and hates needles, it was literally painless. Let me repeat...LITERALLY painless. Had a cleaning and general exam before that was done as well. Gentle and done 100% fantastic...teeth felt and looked good, xrays explained to me in detail just awesome. I don't review much of anything on yahoo, but they absolutely deserve all the kudos and flowers, really great place.

Negative experience: I was very disappointed an mislead by this office. I came in for a x-ray, exam and cleaning for $150. I was then told I needed a deep clean and that they could not do the regular cleaning because it may cause an infection. I went an got a 2nd opinion from 2 dentist. Both dentist told me I should of been able to get a regular cleaning. That it would not of made things worse but better. Then the office still wanted to charge me the full $150 while refusing to clean my teeth. After having to argue with the front desk. They only charged me $66 for x-ray an exam.

Fantastic experience: Recently became a new patient here and I love it! My last dentist was not good at explaining things to me and was very rude. I'm happy I came across this place on Google. All the doctors are super nice and friendly and always make sure to explain processes/procedures thoroughly. They also make sure to ask if you have any questions. Front desk/support staff are also very friendly and kind! They even gave me chocolate on my valentine's day appointment ! Also, they are clear and upfront about billing/costs before you decide to go through with anything which is a big plus for me. Definitely would recommend!! ☺️

Negative experience: The office experience was not a good one. They want your money up front and leave you to deal with your insurance company to get your money back. I never had to do this with any dentist in all my years. Normally they would bill the insurance companies as I have two dental plans and what the plans did not pay, the doctor would bill me. Dr. Mehta has the audacity to say to me that she's not going anywhere. Hello! I'm not going anywhere either. She has my address and she knows where to find me. I pay my bills and don't need to be shaken down for $2500 before she would work on me. Plus I had to put $1,000 deposit. She was recommended to me by a friend so therefore I did it, a big mistake! When I asked the front desk how much it cost for the tooth because everything was estimated they told me $2300 so they owe me money. They billed the insurance company over $4000. I found all this out because I am constantly calling the insurance companies. The girls at the front desk said oh you could just take the extra money and just put it towards your next visit. No, I don't want to do that because there is not going to be any future visits after she corrects the horrible work performed by her. The girls at the office are incompetent. My insurance company kept saying that they never received anything from them. The girls at the office said they sent it three times. My insurance company said they never received it. Once they have your money, they don't care about you. I put out of my pocket $2500. Dr. Mehta put a bridge in my mouth and I have not eaten in four days. Only liquids because food gets stuck where she put the bridge. I went to her on Friday January 14, 2025 and she cleaned where there was food stuck that I could not get out. I woke up Saturday morning OK until I ate 2 crackers, then I was in agony again. I called her office at 2 am and left a message . I was in so much pain I could not sleep. She returned my call 2 days later on Monday and could not get me in until Wednesday, January 22, 2025. I work and I am not taking off work nor going in before work to be in agony at work. She could care less. I told her that this was not a good fit, and it needs to come out and redone. She said she would take it out and leave the hole there. I told her that she either reimburses me or makes me another bridge. So needless to say I have to go back on Wednesday January 22, 2025. She hung up on me three times during this conversation because she didn't want to hear or like what I was saying . I called her back and told her it was very unprofessional to hang up on her patients. She tried to tell me that the 3 hang ups were dropped calls. She doesn't know how to deal with patients/myself and has no patience. She was tossing her tools around because she was angry that I was complaining that she didn’t do a good job. She did not like what I had to say and was acting like a bratty child. She told me that she takes a little pouch with her toothbrush, her pics and whatever else she needs to get the food out of her teeth. I said, you do this every time you go out to dinner and she said yes. Well, I can't go through all those motions and carry a pouch with dental tools in my pocketbook. Something is wrong because the bridge is not flush against my gums. That is why food is getting jammed in there. I have three friends that have bridges and never had a problem like this. She needs to reimburse me or make another mold and not at my expense nor my insurances. She also made a cap for me, the tooth is at an angle crooked. It was never like that prior to her making that cap, she insists that that's the way it should be. I am not happy with that either. I wore braces for four years so my teeth were straight. Once she finishes or fixes what she started, I won't be going back. As I'm writing this, I am in pain and will be until Wednesday. My insurance company is aware of all of this. I am so unhappy and I’m in so much pain.
