Fantastic experience: Got all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed in one go (not impacted) and was feeling perfectly normal by day 4! Dr. Arora knows what he's doing and did a great job. I had minimal pain and minimal swelling for just 3/4 days and was able to go to work and eat perfectly normal after. I'm very happy with the procedure!

Negative experience: I took my 13 year old daughter to South Bergen Oral Surgery in December after being referred by her orthodontist for impacted canines that needed to be bracketed. After calling around for offices that accepted my insurance, this location had the most immediate availability. At the time that felt convenient. Looking back, I now understand why. From the moment we were brought into the back, the entire experience felt transactional and sales driven. I work in sales myself, so I understand business but I have never felt that kind of pressure or tone in a medical or dental setting, especially when it involves a child. They charged me $550 for a CT scan of my daughter’s head. It felt expensive, but I trusted the process and agreed. After reviewing the scan, the doctor examined her and then pulled me out of the room to explain that all four of her wisdom teeth needed to be removed in addition to surgically exposing both impacted canines. He emphasized how painful this would be and said the procedure would need to be done at a hospital. I was overwhelmed but assumed we would leave and think about next steps. Instead, I was urged to stay and discuss payment. On my drive home, I received a call from someone named Yari telling me I needed to pay $3,000 immediately $2,500 for an ambulatory hospital fee and another $500 for pain relief injections that insurance supposedly would not cover. I was told everything else would be covered by my insurance and that payment was required right away just to schedule the hospital procedure. The next day, I called my insurance company and learned that this information was not accurate. Much more would have been my responsibility. That pause gave me the clarity to seek a second opinion, something every parent should feel safe doing. I returned to my orthodontist, who confirmed the wisdom teeth were not affecting her treatment at all. I then consulted two additional oral surgeons, both of whom agreed that removing her wisdom teeth at this time was unnecessary. Let that sink in as a parent. My daughter a 13 year old child was being prepared for significant, painful surgery that multiple other qualified professionals later confirmed she did not need. If something feels off, trust your gut. I am sharing this because no parent should feel pressured into putting their child through unnecessary pain, risk, and thousands of dollars in costs. Prioritizing profit over a child’s wellbeing is deeply disturbing, and it is the reason I felt compelled to write this review. Families deserve honesty, transparency, and care not fear, pressure, and sales tactics.

Negative experience: I am a late-diagnosed autistic woman who sought care at this oral surgery office for an infected tooth. I spent over a month searching for a provider within my insurance network who could offer sedation and accommodate my severe dental anxiety and sensory needs. I was told sedation would not be provided because it was “only one tooth.” Per my insurance As a neurodivergent adult, I knew attempting the procedure without sedation would likely result in a severe panic attack, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. When I received this information, I experienced sensory overload and became extremely distressed. Although I appreciate that the doctor ultimately referred me to the the hospital, the overall handling of the situation was upsetting. As I was crying and nearly hyperventilating, the young woman at the front desk sat with me, helped me regulate, and stayed with me until I felt calmer. I have rarely experienced that level of compassion from a stranger. The rest of the staff appeared rushed and dismissive, leaving me feeling invalidated and unsupported.

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful overall experience when I brought my 91 year old mother in for an examination. The doctor was, of course, kind and professional. But more so Angela provided warmth, support and kindness that was much needed and appreciated. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: I had the absolute best experience at South Bergen Oral Maxillofacial Surgery. From the very first phone call, Angela at the front desk was incredible. She let me fully explain my situation without cutting me off, showed real compassion about my pain and financial concerns, and worked with my insurance so I could be seen the same day. When I arrived, she was just as kind, professional, and warm in person — and after my procedure, she even asked how I was feeling when I came out, which truly meant a lot to me. Her compassion goes above and beyond, and it shows how much she genuinely cares about patients. The X-ray technician was also wonderful. I didn’t catch her name, but she was very sweet, gentle, and clearly knew exactly what she was doing, which helped put me at ease right away. Dr. Arora was equally amazing. He listened carefully when I said I needed a bit more Novocaine on my left side, and because of that, I felt little to no pain during the extraction. I’ve had very painful experiences elsewhere, and this was completely different — I was comfortable and talking normally right after. I have significant dental trauma from childhood, so for me to say this was a great experience truly means something. The care, professionalism, and skill here were outstanding. I highly recommend this office to anyone, especially those who are nervous or in pain.

Fantastic experience: Everytime I call here the receptionists are so patient and helpful. I spoke with Angela who helped me with Lyndhurst and gave me info about another office availability. Getting dental surgery can be scary but it’s much easier when the people at the front know how to give good customer service.

Fantastic experience: This office is wonderful ... I just had my appointment for the very first time and everyone was so kind and accommodating The doctor is very knowledgeable I was in so much pain. He even took my extraction out on the spot, and I feel immediate relief.

Negative experience: Called earlier today and the woman (I think she said her name was Yari) who answered gave me an attitude for no reason. I was just trying to ask a simple question, and she sounded annoyed and unprofessional the entire call.

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. IF YOU DID,CHECK YOUR EOB, COMPARE IT TO WHAT THE OFFICE CHARGED, I CAN PROMISE THEY OWE YOU MONEY. They tell you your insurance does not cover things and charges you out of pocket and does not even send a claim to your insurance. They practice very VERY VERY POOR BUSINESS. As a MHA graduate I am disgusted by this practice and they way they try to scam patients.

Negative experience: I advise everyone not to deal with this extremely bad doctor. It is a despicable place. All they care about is money. It is the worst experience in a clinic you will ever have in your life. I had to have a brain tumor removed, and the bleeding continued for more than four days. There is no concern for the patient at all.

Negative experience: Please be careful if you are going here!!!! I NEVER write reviews, but I had to today. After being told he treats TMJ and seeing it on the website, the doctor then told me he only refers out. He also told me I could only see the TMJ specialist after getting all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. I have never been told by previous dentists that I needed them removed, and this doctor could not give me a clear explanation why I needed mine removed. He then tried to pressure me to book for tomorrow to get the procedure done (meaning I would get surgery less than 24 hours after my initial appointment!!!!). Aside from this, I arrived 30 minutes before the appointment since I assumed I would have to do paperwork. There was no one at the desk until a little after my scheduled appointment time. I then had to wait another 30 minutes in the room, only for the doctor to rush the visit and start speaking to me while looking out of the door.

Fantastic experience: I came here to get all four of my wisdom teeth removed and had a very pleasant experience. Dr. Arora tailors the treatment to each patient and gives you a list of options to ensure you receive the exact type of care you want/need. I elected into the PRP treatment, which I highly recommend as it greatly assisted in my recovery (zero pain or swelling the day after extraction); everything else was covered by my insurance through TRICARE, making them an excellent option for Active or Guard/Reserve military members.

Negative experience: Went for a consultation for wisdom teeth removal. I was quoted a crazy amount for the surgery and most of the amounts didn’t even match the amounts in the coverage certificate. Ended up getting my surgery at another place that stuck to the coverage certificate.

Negative experience: I got my wisdom teeth removed in December and from the get go, there were issues with insurance. Even though I told the office I had new dental insurance before my surgery the office did not have any of the new info the morning of the surgery so it was delayed as I had to wait until benefits were checked. After paying the majority of the surgical costs out of pocket I come to find out that the dental insurance seemed to cover more than what was explained to me in the office. Additionally, at my follow up visit Dr. Arora was more interested in explaining how to leave a 5 star google review than spending time addressing my post op concerns and pain. Since my surgery, I have been going back and forth between the office and dental insurance to see what is the final decision. Still waiting till this day...

Negative experience: The front desk staff is rude. I called three times to submit the charges to insurance because I want to make sure I get billed the contracted rate and it has been over a month and they still haven't sent it. When I call, their tone stinks and I can tell they're upset about me calling. If they did it the first time, I wouldn't have to call multiple times. They slam the phone and don't even say bye, have a good day, etc. My son needs his wisdom teeth removed but I will not be returning here!

While it initially took a while to hear back to schedule my tooth extraction, once they found dates available they worked with me to find the best time possible and were very flexible around my busy schedule. Great office and would recommend.

Negative experience: Please check with your insurance before having any procedures done. I recently came here with my father to remove a growth on the inside of his cheek. The staff assured us that the doctor is in network with our insurance. I asked if they were with medical and dental and they stated yes. Then when it came time to do the procedure they stated that the insurance will not cover any of it and we needed pay the full $1.5K cost out of pocket. I once again asked if perhaps the procedure would be covered at another facility. The doctor said it would not. This seemed a bit odd for me but we decided to go through with the procedure as we are going away on vacation in just a few days and since the growth was painful my dad wanted to have it removed before we go. The next day, shortly before our trip, I called the dental insurance and they said that this procedure is covered through medical. So I called the medical and they said that they do cover this procedure as long as its in network and to send the bill over to them. I called the doctor asking for an itemized bill with the doctor's federal tax number and all the other required things. They are now saying that they are in fact not in network with the medical insurance and that they have told me so which is false. They also say that not many doctors are which is false as I asked the insurance and they said there are several in our area who take the insurance and can do the procedure. They also refused to provide us with an itemized bill that has all the information the insurance requires like the doctors federal tax id. The insurance says to file a claim despite it likely being denied as the doctor is out of network. Would be nice to do if the doctor actually provided all the necessary information to do so. So to sum up the facility is not clear about which insurance they are in network with and will outright lie about whether or not a procedure is covered under your plan refusing to provide an itemized bill on top of that. While the procedure was done well and my dad doesn't seem to be having any problems, their shady buisness practices are something to be wary of. Always check with your insurance both dental and medical before paying for anything especially a costly procedure like this!!!

Negative experience: Honest Review! Patient BEWARE OF SHADY PRACTICES I didn’t make it into being “a patient” as they have VERY SHADY practices. First of all I was referred here to get my wisdom teeth removed, the receptionist offered me plenty of dates and I decided to go for the dates I already scheduled off for work in order to get the surgery. Upon telling her my insurance she said I would have to pay ALL costs of a surgery out of pocket and then bill my insurance or come earlier so they can submit the bill prior to the surgery. I was okay with that option as I would just have to come for a consultation earlier and then it would be covered, so when I told her I would like to go with that option as I would prefer my insurance paying for it. THEN SHE SUDDENLY DIDN’T HAVE ANY AVAILABILITY until the week I already told her I already had off for my surgery and since I wanted to do it then, I would have to pay out of pocket. I will be reporting them to my insurance and people need to be careful with places like this.

Negative experience: DON'T GO HERE! I'm not scared of dentists or dental work, at all, but this was the worst experience ever! I had to have an impacted wisdom tooth taken out. First he pressured me into getting the laughing gas, which I was charged $250.00 for because my ins doesn't cover it. Yes the assistant very quickly went over my entire bill with me, 1 second before slapping the gas on my face, so I was already nervous and said ok to whatever charges for the procedure she showed me, not really knowing what I was saying ok to. I later found out some places WAIVE the laughing gas fee if ins won't cover it, other places charge $75.00 to $150.00. So I feel I was RIPPED OFF. Then I still had an INFECTION, I went in with one, hence the removal. He gave me a zpack. It did NOTHING. 6, 7, 8, 9 days later I was still in SO much pain, throbbing mouth, ear hurting so bad, i couldn't function with the pain, I went back to him TWICE and all he said was "it looks fine, it's healing, coming here isn't going to change anything". I told him I'm sure I have an infection still, the TASTE, the ODOR the PAIN. He blew me off. He was mean and rude and so was the girl at the office. I called CRYING I'm in pain I think I have an infection and she said "well we can't give you no narcotics" I lost my mind at that point! WHO asked for a NARCOTIC!? End result, my WONDERFUL regular dentist gave me amoxacillin on Saturday, by pill #3 the throbbing stopped and the taste and odor went away. Good luck if you go there!

Fantastic experience: I booked an appointment to take my 3 wisdom teeth that were bothering me for a while. The whole process took about a month from the day I did my first appointment, surgery and follow up. I have MetLife Indira and I had to pay for X-rays, I was quoted $975 to removed my 3 wisdom teeth. I did not take any extra perks like ice pack, plasma, etc because i wanted to save the money. The procedure took 20min I was sleeping all the time. I had some pain as normal but after a week I’m healing normally. They put some stitches so it helps keep the food from getting there. Staff was very nice and professional specially the Doctor.

Negative experience: I came here and everyone was friendly except for the doctor. He was very unwelcoming, rude and impatient. He barely addressed our concerns. He made us feel uncomfortable and was neither thorough or helpful. I would not want to come back here again.

Fantastic experience: This was my first time ever dealing with issue of the mouth and the staff and the surgeon was very helpful. They walked me through the procedure and told me what I will expect. They guided me through the issue I had with my insurance and everything was resolved. My follow up visit was so fast and I healed up very nicely. Thank you guys oh so much

Fantastic experience: 10/10. Felt ZERO pain for the first 2-3 days because of this miracle shot they do when removing wisdom teeth.Even when pain came I felt little to nothing. Doctors and everyone involved were so helpful, friendly and courteous. They went over the process, the billing, and the aftercare. Having to rush to get my wisdom teeth out and I found them and am forever thankful for a smooth and painless process! Thank you guys again!
