Negative experience: I had a very mixed experience with Boulevard Family Dental. First, the positive: the clinical staff were wonderful. The woman who brought me back was extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming, and my cleaning itself was great. The doctor was also very friendly, personable, and pleasant. I genuinely have nothing negative to say about the people who actually provided my dental care. Unfortunately, the issue that really soured the experience for me was the office’s $5 “office copay” policy. Their paperwork states: “There will be an office copay of $5.00 per visit which covers all oral hygiene and procedural instructions, oral hygiene aids and all disposable items used during your visit.” What I found particularly frustrating is that this $5 fee applies even when you have a routine cleaning that is covered by your dental insurance with no copay. In my case, I have dental insurance and my routine cleaning was covered, yet the office still wanted to charge an additional $5 office fee. My biggest issue is that I was not informed about this fee when I was choosing the practice or signing up as a new patient. I didn’t discover it until I received/picked up the new-patient paperwork the day of my appointment. In my opinion, a fee like this should be clearly disclosed before someone becomes a new patient, especially when it is something that will be charged at every visit regardless of what their insurance covers. Had I known beforehand that I would be charged an additional office fee for things like disposable supplies and oral hygiene instructions, I absolutely would have taken that into consideration when choosing a dental office. I expect a dental office to bill my insurance appropriately for the services provided, and I don’t think patients should be surprised afterward by an additional office charge that wasn’t clearly communicated when establishing care. The handling of the $5 charge at checkout also added to my frustration. The front desk woman seemed annoyed that I wasn’t happy about the fee and told me she would zero out the $5 charge. However, when I went to check out, another woman at the back desk attempted to charge me the $5. I explained that the front desk had told me it would be removed, and she responded that she hadn’t spoken to her about it. They ultimately did not charge me the $5, but the fact that I had to explain the situation twice was frustrating and unnecessary. Again, the actual dental care and clinical staff were great, which is why this isn’t a completely negative review. But I strongly believe this $5 policy should be disclosed upfront, before a patient chooses the practice and completes new-patient paperwork. For me, the issue isn’t the five dollars itself — it’s the principle of being charged an additional office fee for every visit, even when the visit is covered by insurance, without that fee being clearly disclosed at the time I was deciding whether to become a patient. If I had known about this policy beforehand, I would have chosen a different dental office.

Negative experience: This office staff is great. Unfortunately they cannot make up for the dentist they work for. Some people should not be allowed to work with patients and that is this dentist. Worst experience I have had with a health care professional. Not only is the work incorrect but then had to be verbally abused by the dentist on the way out. All the work I had done was below standards and needs to be redone. I would think long and hard before going to this dentist and if you do might want to have the work checked by a dentist who has his patients best interest at heart and not just making money.

Negative experience: Dr. “Z” really doesn’t care about listening to patients, all he cares about is his own thoughts on the matter and will not work with you in any way. He is arrogant, doesn’t listen, and didn’t care about my thoughts about my own mouth, he just went right into saying that I “needed” to have 6 of my teeth out and replaced with implants, LOL. Really? Why on earth would I even contemplate such a ridiculous idea?? I couldn’t afford something like that to begin with, not to mention that I would never have any tooth pulled for no real reason. This was the most stressful dental visit I’ve ever had, and I ended up running out in shock, never to return. It’s too bad, because the ladies at the desk are really nice and very helpful, and the woman who did my cleaning was excellent. I have no idea how he’s gotten any good reviews at all.

Negative experience: Called for an emergency appt, they were still open for 3 more hours. States right on the windows 24/7 emergency care, yet they couldn't see me. I had to see another dentist who I wasn't even established with who took me in THAT DAY, fixed the issue and I was in and out in 15min! Shame on them for not helping one of their own clients ! *I am a verified client, I can post a bill to verify that I come here!*

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed and angry. Dr. Z started off kind and communicated well, but that changed. Poor communication, then just assumes you know everything. ( What I did know I learned on YouTube) Also Dr. z had an extremely poor attitude when I said I wasn’t happy (after spending nearly $10,000) that left me in tears for days. “So you just care about aesthetics??” Of course I care, should I not? (That wasn’t the only issue) He was angry that I wasn’t happy with a poorly done job.I highly suggest you avoid this doctor, especially if you’re more sensitive like me. He also sent me off to fix the problem to a place that doesn’t work with patients. They were extremely confused as to why he would send me there. He obviously knew this and was trying to blow me off. You might be a dentist, but you still have to have communication/customer service skills. This he is lacking. I highly suggest he gets more education in this area. The dental assistant was very kind. I would suggest she goes to work for someone better. I’m getting better care elsewhere.

Negative experience: Nothing but issues for my family going here. Thousands of dollars spent between a crown that failed and then the fix for that was a tooth implant that just falls out a few months later? Unacceptable.

Negative experience: It's been two years and I'm still dealing with the outcome of my dental treatment from this clinic. Horrible pain mamagement each visit and horrible treatment planning, basically took out my teeth and provided no options for the long term outcome.

Fantastic experience: I was a new patient and they scheduled me in less than 24 hours, incredible considering I was given a 5 month wait time at another practice, wild. Loan, the hygienist, gave me the most thorough cleaning I have had in recent memory (maybe ever). Everyone was timely, kind, and the price was reasonable including full x-rays, I paid out of pocket.

Positive experience: Had a cracked tooth. Was able to make a same day appointment. Got a root canal and a temporary crown. Staff was nice, Dentist was amazing.

Fantastic experience: Great staff It began at the front desk I was happy they are customer service orientated. Once in the chair the experience continues to be outstanding! The dentist explains everything he is very careful and considerate with your care along with his assistant she was also caring and knowledgeable. I’ve been floating around from dentist to dentist for years since my dentist retired. I finally found an office I can be comfortable with and they do excellent work. My smile has already improved and the future smiles are looking to be great!

Negative experience: Website says “we participate in most dental insurance plans” they don’t. “In-house payment arrangement” is just 10% off if you pay cash. Went in for a cleaning and to address some issues I’ve been having but there was no doctor there to come in after the cleaning. Was told “you’ll get a call tomorrow” never did. Almost $300 and the doctor can’t even call. Dental hygienist was funny and great that’s all I can say.

Negative experience: Horrible experience there. The hygienist gave the worst cleaning, it was super uncomfortable. The office also charges every patient $5 a visit even if you have 100% insurance coverage bc apparently they don’t make enough money to cover supplies and that $5 is pertinent to them giving good clean care. All of the good reviews here are for the previous Dr who used to own the practice. I would not recommend coming here. In response to this answer….there is no insurance issue I have full coverage for this provider and they still charged an office copay that they charge every patient. And they state it is not committing insurance fraud even though you have 100% coverage that they are aloud to charge $5 for office supplies. Their response says it’s due to an insurance issue which is a lie. Most people would not agree with this charge

Negative experience: Nice guy but not great work, most pain I have ever had in my entire life.. new crown caused tooth infection was told to take more pain medicine...his crowns are not good

Fantastic experience: I was a little apprehensive about returning to the dentist after a long hiatus, but Boulevard Family Dental quickly alleviated my worries. The staff—especially the hygienist—was incredibly friendly and understanding, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The office itself was clean and modern, and the overall experience was positive. My family already uses BFD for their dental care and I see why. Weirdly, looking forward to going back for my next cleaning (that’s something I never thought I’d say.)

Positive experience: The cleaning was good. However they wanted to do an extra procedure and mentioned novacane. I had to remind them I never approved this it's just a cleaning. Them when trying to get things explained about a possible upcoming procedure the reception talked down to us and was extremely rude. We did not make any appointments at all before we left. Then we get home and get a text about upcoming appointments (again we did not make them) we called and said will not return. Don't try to get extra money out of my insurance with extra unknown, unnecessary procedures at a cleaning, and then don't get rude when I don't understand your terminology and ask you to explain it. Not to mention my husband and I both had appointments and the dentist only came in to see me. Never checked on my husband, but waved to him in the waiting room.

Fantastic experience: Like most people, I am not a fan of going to the dentist. However, Boulevard Family Dental is changing my mind. The hygienist was informative and thorough by taking the time to explain what she was doing and why. The Dentist, Dr. Z, asked questions about my health and explained how my Barrett's Esophagus relates to my teeth. He took the time to show me the effects on my teeth, even sowing me the pictures and X-rays and what concerned him. He then laid out the options using straight forward and easy to understand language, and made it clear that it was my choice. Then the billing person again gave me to take point information, explaining what my insurance would cover and why and I left with an invoice that showed me what my cost would be. A great experience all around. Try them out. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I went to this place years ago and then lost my health insurance . 10 years later I looked on Google maps through their satellite and found the building. I remembered, and luckily, as fate would have it the number of this facility was on their digital sign, and I called and made an appointment, 10 years later lol absolutely love this dentist. Everybody in this facility is super nice .

Positive experience: Today Wed Jan 25,2023 was my first visit at Boulevard Family Dental. I went for a cleaning. It was the only way I could be seen for my original problem. Otherwise I would have to wait quite a bit of time before I could be seen. The hygienist was good. She also took x rays of my mouth . That was okay. What confused me was the dentist. He was friendly enough but said I had so many issues with my mouth. I have no pain. So I am surprised that I possibly may have infections in my mouth. I originally came to the dentist because I cracked my tooth two days ago. When I asked what can be done about that. The dentist said we need to get together to go over my x rays and come up with a plan of action. In the meantime I left with a prescription for an antibiotic. I will call Tomorrow to see whether I have an infection or not.

Negative experience: When first started I had a younger female dentist. I had no complaints but had no major work done. Then at some point the female dentist no longer worked there and was replace with Dr. Zingaro. He is a very nice person. However....he diagnosed me with having to have a Root Canal on a front tooth and I regret not getting a 2nd opinion and he did not recommend getting one as well who specializes in them. The root canal has been a nightmare. Afterward I kept complaining it hurt, it didn't feel right and was told it was just healing and was fine. They even suggested having tooth removed a bridge put in (argh). It took a consultation with an orthodontists to recommend going to and endodontist. Sure enough the root canal was NOT cleared completely and the tooth was not sitting correctly. I had to fight for a year to have my insurance (Cigna - they are whole other nightmare) to get retreatment and a new tooth. Horrible experience and I already have high anxiety when visiting a dentist. NOW.....on same visit as when they did my root canal they put a cap on my back tooth. Just a little past 2 years and my cap has cracked and now Cigna is saying they wont pay for restoring it!!! I have had a previous root canal and cap and NO ISSUES what so ever. So frustrated with the work Dr. Zingaro did on these two teeth. GET A SECOND OPINION! In response to reply: I should NOT have to have procedures redone - so it is not an insurance issue. I am having issues with insurance because they already covered procedure and now needs to be fixed again within their given time limits.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been a patient here since 2017 and staff consistently friendly, accommodating and never experienced anything but easy, thorough and pain free. Can’t go wrong !

I don't speak perfect English and they have always made an effort to explain everything to me, make sure I understand them and to understand my very basic English. There is a very warm and calm atmosphere in this place. I can't even say that I'm as scared of going to the dentist as I was when I was young. ( I was afraid of dentists) They are very attentive.
