Fantastic experience: I’m new to Downtown Dental and had to leave a shoutout to my hygienist today, Anna. I have pretty significant dental anxiety and rarely feel comfortable or have a positive experience in the chair, but today was a total game changer. As someone who also works in the dental field, I’m familiar with different approaches and techniques. This was honestly the first time I’ve had a cleaning that was both thorough and completely painless. Anna took the time to explain what she was doing and walked me through the process in a way that was informative and reassuring — all before even knowing my background in dentistry. I really appreciated the time, attention, and care she gave while answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I know firsthand how difficult it can be for offices to find great hygienists these days, so Downtown Dental is very lucky to have her. Thank you again, Anna! I’ll definitely be returning — and bringing my family with me next time.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at the dentist office today. Jess, the new hygienist, was incredibly informative, patient, and comforting with my younger child. She really took the time to listen to their concerns and explain everything in a way that helped them feel calm and understood. They even commented afterward on how much they liked her, which says a lot. Dr. Harrison continues to be wonderful as well — we really appreciate his focus on prevention and addressing potential issues before they become bigger problems. The whole team creates a caring and positive environment, and we always leave feeling well taken care of. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My 5 year old loves coming to the dentist. The staff are so fun, engaging and patient. Jessica was especially a hit with my daughter. Makes coming to the dentist a breeze. They also had some great tips to make brushing teeth even more fun.

Negative experience: I’ve been coming to this practice for a while and always had great experiences with the previous doctor. Since the ownership changed to Dr. Harrison, my experience has been different. I was advised to undergo several treatments that didn’t feel right to me, so I decided to get second opinions from two other dentists. Both confirmed that those treatments weren’t necessary, which was concerning. I also felt that Dr. Harrison didn’t really listen to me. I tried to explain my dental history and what’s normal for me, but I didn’t feel heard. That said, the staff here are wonderful—kind, helpful, and professional—and they’ve always made my visits easier.

Negative experience: This place has gone downhill after the change in ownership. I used to drive to Dr. Lesch for his honest, down to earth no pressure approach but that is no longer the case. If you want to be sold unnecessary services (proven by 2nd opinions)and nickeled and dimed by receiving a $8 bill for the first time 9 months after a standard cleaning this is the place for you!

Fantastic experience: I will recommend this place to everyone. The Hygienist was awesome and the doctor was amazing. I hate going to the dentist but they make it easy. If you are looking for a new office, this is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: I was overdue for a dental visit and feeling quite nervous about what the outcome might be. I initially wasn't able to get an appointment for a few weeks, but the staff kindly added me to a waitlist. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call the very next day for an earlier opening! From the moment I arrived, everyone—from the receptionist, to the hygienist, and finally Dr. Lesch—was amazing. They were non-judgmental, calming, and incredibly respectful throughout the entire experience. What I feared would be an overwhelming appointment turned out to be much easier than I imagined, thanks to their care. Fantastic experience: I can't say enough good things about Dr. Jim Lesch. I have been going to him for over 20 years, I believe, and my faith in him has never wavered. He is kind, gentle and thorough. He does great work! He always takes time to explain any procedure and answers all my questions. He is willing to come in on off hours for a dental emergency, like the time I lost a crown after eating a particularly sticky piece of toffee. We live in SW Minneapolis and my husband and I travel to Lakeville to see him. (My son comes from Maple Grove.) It is so worth it!

Fantastic experience: I have a very specific color of my teeth and already lost hope that I can be happy with any dental work on my teeth, but with Dr. Lesch I was very impressed how accurately and successfully the color of the filling was chosen. Fantastic experience: I was satisfied with my previous dentist; however, they stopped accepting our dental insurance, forcing us to find another dentist. Of course, I procrastinated finding one until I had a crown pop off at work. I called as a new patient, and they got me in the same day! I've always had some anxiety during dental visits, but Dr. Lesch put me at ease and made me feel comfortable almost immediately. Dr. Lesch and his staff are fantastic. Friendly, warm and welcoming, my experience was excellent from the moment I walked into the office. Located downtown in Lakeville on Holyoke, I felt like I was walking into a small-town dental office where everybody knows each other. When I returned for a cleaning appointment, my hygienist did a great job and was very gentle, unlike some I've had who left me sore for a day. 10 out of 10 Recommended.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous going into the dentist mainly because I hadn't been in a while but I had to get a tooth fixed that was causing nerve pain and sensitivity. Everyone at James Lesch's office was kind, considerate and non judgmental. They made me feel comfortable and I was able to get in fairly quick which was important when you're living with nerve pain.

Fantastic experience: There are so many things to like about Dr. Lesch and his staff. Very flexible and communicative when it comes scheduling and appointments details. They worked through insurance with my carrier when it was needed. Most important is that Dr. Lesch keeps you well informed through the process and telling you exactly what to expect. I never request a specific hygienist because I trust them all to do a great job (I’ve never been disappointed). Fantastic experience: Without a doubt THE best dentist I’ve ever had. Easy scheduling, calls when someone cancels so I can get in earlier, but the best part is Dr Lesch (and the entire office staff) REALLY care about my dental health. Last September I had need of an emergency visit for an abscessed tooth…one call and I was told to come in NOW to be seen. That’s CARING service!

Fantastic experience: Dr. James Lesch is a wonderful dentist with the highest integrity. My family has been seeing him for many years and I believe he has done right by us. He has always given us options to choose with different dental procedures and I have never felt pressure to go a certain direction. He has his patients best interests in mind. He has always responded quickly when needed and has made time when necessary. The staff is excellent as is the location. I have recommended friends in the past and will continue to do so.

Positive experience: I have always been treated with kindness & dignity at this office. They don't try to talk you into work you don't want or need or can't afford. The atmosphere is calming - - there are lighted clouds on the ceiling. Usually Christian music is playing in the background, although this most recent visit it was tasteful contemporary music.

Fantastic experience: We felt like family, super personable and very intentional about ensuring we felt comfortable and didn't have any questions. Scheduling was easy and within a reasonable time frame of 2-3 months not 6-9 like I've experienced in the past at other places. This will be our new place to go for our dentistry needs!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lesch came to the rescue for me this past week! On Thursday evening, right before the long holiday weekend, my veneer on my front right tooth popped right off. I looked like a hockey player who lost a fight on the ice--not the look I'm going for lol. Resigned to my fate of most likely being toothless for three long days at least, I left Dr. Lesch a message, hoping he could get me in first thing Monday to reattach the veneer. Dr. Lesch did even better--called me back himself, remembered who I was as a patient (I'm newer and have only been in a couple of times mainly for cleanings), and had me come in the very next morning. He opened the practice himself just to reapply my veneer. He explained every step in the process thoroughly and even gave me insight into why my veneer (applied by another dentist over a decade ago) most likely came off. Dr. Lesch did amazing work in putting the veneer back in place. He even adjusted it to reduce the pressure my bite puts on the veneer when I chew to lessen the likelihood of the veneer coming off in the future. I felt I was in good hands the entire time--Dr. Lesch is both passionate and knowledgeable about his craft, and he definitely cares about the well-being and the smiles of his patients! After the first visit at Dr. Lesch's office, I knew we found our new dental home! It has a small town feel and they make you feel welcomed right away, as if we had been going there for years. Fantastic experience: I had an accident that affected my front top teeth. I was not in my home state but I needed a dentist before I could return home. Dr Lesch fit me in early in the morning the next day. He asked me several questions to determine the best action for him to take. I was impressed with his concern and his care. He was able to give me some relief so that I can continue my vacation without pain. He also explained what I can expect my dentist to do for me when I return home. I highly recommend Dr Lesch.

He will do procedures that are necessary for my dental health but does not suggest unnecessary ones. Fantastic experience: While no trip to the dentist can be described as pleasant my recent filling by Dr. Lesch came pretty close. Everything was efficient and organized, every bit of the procedure was fully explained in advance, and much care was taken to make me comfortable and pain-free. The numbing medicine worked perfectly and was completely gone very soon after I left the office. Even the stop at the desk afterward to pay was a good experience as the cost was less than estimated and there was a nice discount for paying by check. Dr. Lesch and the staff that I encountered were very pleasant and efficient to deal with. While I can't say I'll be eager to return but I am certainly not going to be distressed in any way about going back. In many decades of going to dentist offices all over the country these folks are the best.

I feel very comfortable there and they do not try to take your money, like I fear other practices to. They always try to help me find the cheapest but appropriate options. Fantastic experience: I started going to Dr Lesch about 5 years ago when I moved to the area after having the same dentist for almost 30 years. I’ve had a lot of dental work done in the past and I hated the thought of going to the dentist. Dr Lesch and his team made me feel very welcome from the first time I called them. They made a point to get to know me and understand my fears. They are very patient and take the time to explain everything they do. They are honest about the procedures they are doing and make sure you are comfortable. I’ve had numerous crowns done by Dr Lesch with no issues and no pain at all! I no longer dread going to the dentist or put it off as long as I can and I always end up leaving my appointments thinking wow, that wasn’t bad at all! The entire staff is very friendly and personable and it’s always fun to catch up with them every few months!
