Fantastic experience: We’ve been coming for 4 yrs but this was our first time having Bailey for a hygienist. My daughter just turned 3 and our last trip was decent but tearful. Bailey was SUCH a calming presence and not only explained everything before doing it in kid language but completely involved my daughter hands on each step. On the way out my daughter actually asked when she could come back again. Thanks Bailey!!!

Fantastic experience: From the second I walked in, I knew we would love Children’s Dental Care & Orthodontics in Lakeville. The staff were great and so friendly. We were seen by Kathryn and Dr. Mackensie. Kathryn did everything she could to make my daughter as comfortable as possible in a new environment. It was evident that Kathryn and Dr. Mackensie are great with kids and love what they do!

Fantastic experience: We were referred to Dr. Mackenzie after a nightmare experience elsewhere with our young daughter, and she completely turned our experience around. Our daughter actually enjoys going to the dentist now! Dr. Mackenzie is truly an expert in her field and has an incredible way of making children feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. She takes the time to explain everything clearly and gives parents the information and tools they need to make informed decisions. Our kids will only see Dr. Mackenzie from now on!

Fantastic experience: We had such a wonderful experience at our son’s first dentist appointment! He is 21 months old, so we were a little nervous about how he would handle the visit, but the Kendahl and Dr. Ann were absolutely amazing. They were so kind, patient, gentle, and understanding, and did everything they could to help him feel comfortable and not scared. They took the time to explain everything they were doing, answered all of our questions, and were incredibly informative throughout the entire appointment. You could truly tell that they cared about making his first dental experience a positive one. Our son left with fun stickers, toys, and a brand-new toothbrush, which made the whole experience even more exciting for him. We couldn’t have asked for a better first visit and are so grateful to the entire team for making it such a positive experience. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Dr Ann did an extraction on my 2 year old son’s front tooth in office after he fell and broke it. She was incredible. Not only did she do a thorough examine during the visit but confirmed that our treatment plan was the best starting point considering his age. She was gentle, kind, soothing, and quick making the experience as easy as extracting a 2 year olds tooth can be. Thank you for caring for my son and leaving us feeling confident!

Fantastic experience: Kathryn and Dr. Sydney saw my 2.5 year old child today and were wonderful and made the appointment smooth and efficient - and fun for my child! This was the fourth visit we have made to Children’s Dental Care in Lakeville and we will keep returning. Having a newborn as well join us for the appointment, the space at the facility is perfectly catered to young children and spacious - much appreciated! Having the child’s name written on the seat back is a special touch, too. Thanks team!

Fantastic experience: Today my daughter was seen to have her top braces put on. Bailey was phenomenal, an absolute pleasure to work with, she is very kind and explained the whole process thoroughly. Dr. Wild is also great to work with. The process is straightforward and the whole appointment today was just over an hour. Also, if you are looking for a payment arrangement they also allow you to split the payments up, 0% interest, which is nice and makes the whole experience much easier for parents/guardians. My daughter was able to select a color for her bands. She was told what to expect in the next few days. Overall, great experience and I would recommend if you are considering braces. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: Really friendly staff, super smooth process. Shoutout to Cesar, they were super funny and very nice. I usually dislike it when dentists talk to me while messing with my teeth, but they were super engaging and entertaining. Never worked with someone like them, would go back if it wasn’t my last appointment.

Fantastic experience: We found Children’s Dental Care after they visited my child’s daycare and made learning about dental health so much fun. They did such a great job teaching the kids about caring for their teeth, engagingly and memorably, that we knew we wanted to check them out. Our experience at the office was even better. Cesar made everything easy, welcoming, and fun from start to finish. Dr. Matt was wonderful with my child—kind, patient, and caring. The office itself is amazing, with a playground, books, and TVs that make kids excited to be there. One thing I’ll never forget is that it was pouring rain when we were leaving, and Cesar grabbed an umbrella and walked us all the way to our car. It was such a thoughtful gesture and showed how much they truly care about their patients and families. And lastly, They took photos during the visit, emailed them to us afterward, and even gave us a signed card. Every single step felt thoughtful and personalized. My child already can’t wait to come back. We are so glad we found this place and highly recommend it to other families!

They are SO good with kids, explain everything in kid and parent terms, kids get prizes after every visit, and they are easy to get in to schedule. The staff are all so kind and warm, we just love this practice and are so grateful to have it locally.

Negative experience: They have a timer set and the moment you are 10 min late they will call you and let you know you must reschedule your visit because they only schedule 30 minute spots for procedures.

Fantastic experience: So thankful for Dr. Amy and the whole team. It’s rare to see the level of excellence, kindness, and genuine heartfelt concern that the people at this office exhibit while taking care of children.

Negative experience: Service was great. No pain and the Dr. was fantastic as far as services performed on my children. The problem, is the billing and communication of services performed. It is almost impossible to get a straight answer when requesting a quote, or when trying to figure out what is covered by insurance. They always try to make you pay for everything up front and then hope for a reimbursement. Also, you better have a degree in molars and bicuspids if you want to understand any of their plans for service and billing. This has happened almost every time we've had our kids here and this last time was an expensive "miscommunication" We will not be returning.

Negative experience: Charged for services that haven't been done! I never do fluoride for my three kids and yet my insurance was charged for it. When I called to the office I was told that I "okyed" the treatment, which will never happen, especially for my two year old. The only solution that was offered - a refund if there is a copay (there is none). So, now if I change my mind ang decide to do it, I would have to pay out of pocket. Plus, I paid cash fully for a toothpaste at the desk and then received a bill through an email for it as well. And these are small billings, just cleaning. Can't even imagine the unknown charges added to big work. I wish Carousel Pediatric Dentistry was still available to us, but unfortunately they dont accept our insurance anymore. Never had any troubles billing wise and my kids enjoyed going there.

Positive experience: We just had our 2 years old son first dental appointment and it went really great with the dental hygienist and the dentist “ Dr.Mackenzie”, they were very happy to answer our concerns and provided realistic suggestions which we appreciate greatly. The damage was caused by another hygienist who was standing nearby rolling her eyes at our hygienist while I was asking the dentist all questions I had in mind for the visit. Apparently we’re supposed to pay $250 for the visit so we could give them business and keep our mouth shut! Giving 3 star not 1 because it would be unfair to the team who did help us, but already looking for another place for the future dental visits.

Negative experience: Very rude Staff. Don't even know how to treat customer. Specially if they don't look like them. Very disappointed. Will not take my kid back there again.

Fantastic experience: Children’s Dental has been amazing! Both of my children started going here as toddlers and have never been afraid of them! My son has a very strong gag reflex and they are so good about being mindful of that. The building is beautiful and fun for kids!

Fantastic experience: We just started with Dr. Justin Wild for my daughter's braces, & I've been really happy so far. The whole team has been super kind & patient, which makes a big difference when your kid is a little nervous about everything! They took the time to walk us through the whole process, answered every question, & never made us feel rushed. The office runs on time, which I really appreciate as a busy parent. It's only the start, but I'm really glad we went with this office!

Negative experience: We brought our two boys to Children’s Dental Care in 2023 and were initially told that our insurance would fully cover the $3,500 cost of treatment. Unfortunately, about a month later, we began receiving unexpected bills in the mail. While we have since paid the balance, the delay in payment has resulted in the clinic refusing to schedule further appointments—even though our children have been referred back for necessary follow-up care. I understand that dental procedures can be costly regardless of the provider, but the communication around insurance coverage was misleading. It’s very frustrating to be assured that a service is fully covered, only to be billed afterward. Unless you have excellent dental insurance or can comfortably afford out-of-pocket expenses, I would recommend asking detailed questions before committing to care here.

Fantastic experience: Went today for the first time and my son had to have a tooth removed. They made the process so comfortable and easy going. They made sure to tell him every step what was going on and to use words that wouldn't scare him. I will recommend to everyone.

Fantastic experience: Brought my one year old in for her first appointment & we had the best experience! The front desk employees are super welcoming and friendly! Everyone was in great spirits! Dr Matt & the hygienist we had were phenomenal! They truly know how to work with kids! We can’t wait to come back!!

Fantastic experience: We took our son to a non pediatric dentist for his first 2 appointments and he was terrified. Luckily my coworker told me about Children’s Dental Care and he now actually enjoys going to the dentist. We have been here 4 times so far and they are so kind and patient. Nothing bad to say about them!

Fantastic experience: I don’t have enough kind words to express the gratitude my family has for this clinic. We were visiting from Oklahoma when my youngest son fractured his tooth. We called the on call doctor and were seen in the office the following morning. Every single person was phenomenal! This place was the best blessing in a moment of stress for our family, thank you all!!!

Negative experience: My daughter spent no more than 10 minutes in the dental chair at this dentist. We got a bill for $227. They charged me $90 for an oral exam that took 3 minutes tops. The doctor then decided to brush her teeth, which was only 4 strides per side of her mouth with a standard toothbrush. I do a better job at home. This turned out to be another $90 charge. The fact that they billed for this is borderline fraudulent. Fluoride application was another $60. The doctor was nice and pleasant, but that doesn’t make up for clearly overcharging for an overly simple and quick visit. I will certainly steer clear of these guys for any future dental needs.

Fantastic experience: Children's Dental Care is amazing. First of all, the technology that they use (water laser for drilling, the Wand for novocaine) is less painful than traditional equipment. Secondly, they are wonderful kind caring people. They were honest and explained the process to my daughter, and also explained what was happening, each step of the way. They gave her compliments and cheered her on for being brave. I love these guys so much.

Fantastic experience: The staff here are amazing! They are patient, kind and understanding and know how to work specifically with kids. I very much appreciated Dr. Mackensie's kind and patient approach with my daughter who was especially scared at her last appointment. Dr. Mackensie patiently explained each and every step. I highly recommend this location for children!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Matt and staff are absolutely fantastic! Very patient, kind, compassionate, and thorough! My husband and I are in the Healthcare field and are very picky when it comes to providers we trust with our children's health. They are amazing here!! Highly recommended

Negative experience: Denied seeing a dental emergency for a crown they did.

Negative experience: If i could give this place less then 1 star I would. Who turns away a child with a dental emergency due to parents financial issues that has changed since they were last there over 2 years ago? I work at a dental office and we would never turn away an emergency patient. Clearly this shows that you guys don't care about the children at all. My dental office has referred many patients to you guys, but not anymore. Which is a shame because we had a great experience when we originally went and that's what we based our office referring to you guys.

Fantastic experience: This dental clinic has been so wonderful with my son (2) and daughter (5). My kids don’t even mind going to the dentist. Loretta explains everything to them and encourages them throughout the whole visit. The dentists are gentle and truly want what’s best for the child.

Negative experience: This place still isn't working to get over the "pandemic". Everyone is still being forced to wear masks, there are no activities/toys for the children to play with while they wait, no reading materials for the parents, and the coffee station is has been closed for weeks if not months. Real progress going on here. Probably a good time to find a new dental clinic for my children.

Positive experience: Update: I was contacted by Children's Dental after I started a dispute with care credit. They are reversing the charge and allowing me to use our HSA. The call came with and apology from a very helpful billing staff person. Chelsea, thank you for clearing this up. My issue is resolved satisfactorily. Looking forward to better experiences... ‐---‐‐--------------------------------------------------------- Dental staff was semi pleasant, dependent on who your child was speaking to. My 5 year old had to get some work done. He was in pain and in order to get it all done at once and without a fight we were recommended to go here by our dentist. They did the checks needed, and decided on a plan. We agreed to the plan. The told us we had to give a credit card before the work was done. The sedation was $1300. And not covered by insurance. The other dental work was $2700. Though they were out if network my insurance still pays some. Both the charges had to be disputed... The $1300 charged to my care credit was charged $1430. (10% for using care credit, which defeats the purpose of using care credit) plus they cannot charge more just because its care credit. I won that dispute and it $130 returned. Now I have a bill that came saying that my insurance paid them on 2/14/22, and my care credit was charged on 2/14/22... not an updated bill with the remaining amount. When I called to ask them to reverse it so that I could pay with an HSA card (master card, so basically a debit card for heath expenses) I was told they could not do that. So either they are lying, or they don't know what the hell they are doing, cause credit cards (including care credit) do not have a no backsies policy‍♀️...they have some way of returning the money to a card, they just didn't want to. So... back to care credit to dispute the charge again...‍♀️

Fantastic experience: Wonderful, kind and patient staff. My son loved Dr. Amy and how quick the cleaning and X-rays were. So glad we found them!

Negative experience: The dental staff is phenomenal. I'd give them 5 stars. The front of house has messed up our billing multiple times, turned us away for having the wrong insurance and, after I investigated and found they were wrong, wouldn't see us because it was 15 minutes after the appointment that we were originally early for. The people who work on teeth are great, but I can't deal with the front staff.

Fantastic experience: Over the years, we have seen Dr. Brent, Dr. Matt, Dr. Ann and Dr. Amy. All are wonderful and so patient in our experience with babies and toddlers. The hygienists are also great and ensure they are helping to establish dentist visits as a good experience for small kids. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: They got us in right away. My husband forgot our new dental insurance cards but they looked it up, took care of it, and got us the group number so we could log in later. My boys are shy but the staff was super helpful, kind and great with them. Efficient, kind, top notch. So glad we go there!!

Fantastic experience: Awesome visit per usual at CDC! Karen did a superb job cleaning and taking pictures of my 4 year old’s teeth! And we love Dr. Matt!

Negative experience: Have an dental appointment with sedation for my little 3 yrs old baby at 9:30am. She haven’t had anything for fasting since 9pm the night before. We arrived 15 mins early for our appointment and time came by they have not call us in. So, went to check with them at 9:45 because they haven’t ca us. Poor little girl she’s super hungry and wanted eat and got upset because she can’t eat. It’s 9:55am now the office just call us in. Little girl was so hungry and kept wanted to eat so she got mad at mommy. 10:12am Doctor came in talk about 2 minutes and left us waiting again It’s 10:28am nothing happening yet us waiting in the room with a child suffering from hunger. It’s 10:30am anesthesia just came in. 10:42am finally my baby fall as sleep with anesthesia. NOT once say SORRY for running behind schedule or do anything to keep my baby girl busy so she don’t have to ask for food. Staffs were very nice previous appointments but this time they need to have a better scheduling system for Kids with Sedations. They need to be on time and get the child in and out. It’s already HARD for a child seat still and wait. Now have the child wait for over an hour with an empty stomach is unacceptable. Update: After the procedure the Doctor apologized for the wait but the review was posted before and I did let them know about the review. I had too because it was too suffering.

Negative experience: I have been bringing my children here since they were little. I have never had any issues until previously. I have never been treated so rudely over an overdue bill that I was trying to get paid. They went into breaking policies and guidelines but at no point in time or any policies asked to be bent or guidelines to be broken just a phone call to get a bill paid. The lady stated she did not care about the situation and that I needed to get my divorce situation taken care of. I then asked to talk to the manager about the situation where the billing lady sat in the background and continued to make rude remarks as the manager stated that she was a very nice and caring person. This is not the type of business that I want to support.

Fantastic experience: The hygienist was so friendly and made Makayla feel comfortable from the start. The hygienist gave Makayla tips on brushing more thoroughly that didn’t feel shaming. Dr. Amy was available quickly. Our visit was quick and successful!

Fantastic experience: The girls love it here! Emma (2.5) did awesome this time and was excited to go to the dentist!! Billie (1.5) is still getting used to the dentist but everyone there is so great and makes the kids feel safe and comfortable!! They are wonderful with kids and help to give parents great advice for helping their kids with dental hygiene!!

Fantastic experience: I love so many things about this dentist! 1. I can schedule all four of my kids at once and be done in 30 minutes. 2. Hygienists and dentists are all so kind to kids. 3. Laser technology resulting in pain free dentistry! That alone would keep me coming. My kids don't fear having a cavity. I wish adult dentists did this! 4. Punctual and efficient. 5. Fun lobby activities (behind covid) Best dentist office I've ever been to!

Fantastic experience: I was referred to this office and Dr Matt by a friend. This was my daughter third dentist visit (she’s 2.5) and her first two visits had gone badly at an office in Rosemount. I was expecting the worst now that’s she’s older and so strong willed but she felt comfortable the entire visit and did great. They were great at explaining to her what was happening and were able to get every tooth cleaned. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: They got in all 3 of my kids in at the same time! We were in and out in 45 min, excellent service! Dr. Matt and his team were excellent and extremely knowledgeable in childrens dental health. Would recommend to anyone and I am so very glad we switched from Healthpartners Dental to Children's Dental Care!!! See you in 6 months!!

Fantastic experience: Love Dr. Ann and have already referred other mamas! Evaluated for a tongue tie at 4 months old and just did his first "cleaning" at 12 months. So gentle and informative! No tears and that's a WIN!

Negative experience: Ever since Winters Dentistry sold out, the experience has been terrible. We loved Dr. Winters! Hopefully Children's dentistry can learn a thing or two from her!

Fantastic experience: This is the dental environment we have been looking for the kids! We have been through several offices only left with our kids being traumatized. I have moved all 4 of our kids to this office, and have no issues with brining them there. My 2 year old had to have a procedure where he would needed to be put under and I couldn't find a better place to trust. My other daughter also had 2 cavities removed, and still would go back. Great staff and doctors!

Negative experience: I was charged almost $90 to put fluoride on my kids teeth and the billing office was rude and not helpful at all. They will not make sure things are covered under Insurance so make sure you do your research before a huge bill shows up. Not going back unfortunately :/

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Children’s Dental Care is amazing! They’re all so kind, patient and caring. My kids actually like going to the dentist (the toys for good checkups don’t hurt). The staff explain each step to the kids, let them touch the instruments, and are patient when the kids are a little nervous. We wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I brought our son in based on a referral from our primary family dentist. I was completely blown away. Our son had some anxiety in his first few visits to the dentist. His experience at Children’s Dental in Lakeville was completely different from the moment we walked in. He wasn’t scared, he wasn’t anxious, he saw it was just for kids, saw other kids next to him. It was perfect and his mother and I are so relieved! Thank you to Jessa, Dr. Amy and everyone else there, you’ll be seeing us for many more years!

Negative experience: We made appointments for both of our kids, got there and they told us that they do not take Delta Dental insurance through MNSure. I checked the Delta Dental website for our coverage and indeed, Children's Dental Care is a covered provider. We called back and they realized, oh yes, they do take our insurance but would only let us reschedule rather than come back for our appointment times. This is not the first insurance coverage issue we have had with this office. Will not be going back, too much of a hassle trying to help them understand dental insurance through MNSure and pediatric dental coverage though health insurance!

Negative experience: While the staff was fine we were referred on a dental emergency for a specialist. We were not told we needed to have a consult appointment first. So we waited a month for the consult to be turned away for another month and by then the tooth was too damaged to do what they were supposed to do. They didn't care about needing spacers and rushed us in and out without letting us talk. We will never go back

Fantastic experience: Was referred to Dr. Amy from my son’s myofunctional therapist for a lingual Frenectomy. My son deals with general anxiety and I can tell you how pleased I was the how everything went. Dr. Amy took the time to prepare us before the procedure so we could practice wearing the laughing gas nose so he would be used to it, and that helped immensely. Would highly recommend Dr. Amy.

Fantastic experience: My daughter’s first time going to the dentist. She loved it! The staff was very kind and professional. As soon as we left the office she was asking when we will get to go back. I would definitely recommend for any parent that is nervous for their little ones, to come to Lakeville children’s dental care.

Fantastic experience: I was almost in tears at our first visit to Children’s Dental Care! We went elsewhere for my son’s first visit and it was traumatizing, a year later we came here and it was like night and day. The hygienist was SO good with my son and could sense some anxiety, the way she talked him through everything and let me sit right by him was just so reassuring. I’m so glad we made the change!
