Dr D is always a pleasure to talk to. Him and I like to travel so we’re always sharing or giving advice about different places. But the real reason I love this office is because he doesn’t try and upsell you on unnecessary dental procedures. If you need it, he’s upfront. Otherwise it’s a twice a year cleaning with no heavy lifting! If you’re looking for great honest dentist, this is your guy!

As someone with an extreme fear of the dentist and who has dealt with my fair share of past bad/condescending dentists who make you feel worse (which then circles back to why you don’t go to the dentist more often) I can happily and confidently say that this experience was totally opposite. I have never had a dentist like this who has not only made me feel listened to but also made sure that I was comfortable every step of the way. Rather than a lecture, I received words of encouragement. I cannot recommend him enough!

Fantastic experience: My family has been going to Dr D'Apolito for 36 years. His work was praised by two different dentists we visited about 8 years ago when our insurance changed. Their commendations convinced us to return to Dr. D'Apolito and we have never regretted it. My wife had been to two different dentists with recurring jaw issues she suffered her whole life. Dr D'Apolito was able to eliminate the problem with standard care and an upgraded home dental care procedure using a water pik. I have not had a tooth problem in the last seven years. You cannot improve on the care he provides. We strongly recommend him.

Positive experience: Three stars because I'm sure the dentist is great (based on other reviews), but can't give any more than that since the place seems kind of old school and has weird policies regarding disclosing prices in advance. We were looking for a new dentist for our family and called a bunch of offices in the area to find out pricing for a basic cleaning. This place was one of our top two choices until I talked to their receptionist on the phone. All other dental offices disclosed their pricing up front, but this place refused to give the price until we made an appointment and paid for an in-person visit with the dentist. The first visit (for which they actually gave me the price) includes the full exam and Xrays, so it's kind of a hassle to have to do all this just to find out how much a cleaning would cost after the first initial exam. If I am going to pay for the full exam/new patient visit, I need to know how much I'll be paying for cleanings after that, since that'll be a twice a year expense. I don't want to do Xrays and then find out the cleanings are way more expensive than other similarly reviewed places. Then I'd have to switch dentists and pay the "initial exam" fee again at another place. I understand not being able to give me the exact price for things like crowns, but at least a minimum price or a ballpark range for cleanings would've been enough for us to make the decision. We have a large family, so if we're going to be paying for cleanings twice a year for 8 people, it'd be nice to know what to expect... I know the office will probably respond with a cliche response like "unfortunately it is our policy not to disclose pricing over the phone, we apologize it wasn't what you expected", can't wait to read it lol. I find it ridiculous that they can't give a price range for a cleaning, even if they have "different kinds of cleanings". You can always be like "our basic cheapest cleaning is $200 and then it goes up from there". It's really a shame that it didn't work out for us with this place, as it looked really good on paper and the dentist seems to be good, maybe just a little old school with the secretive pricing policies... :( UPDATE because I'm not able to respond to their comment on my review: Their response is pretty much a generic "I hope you find a dentist that fits your needs" as I expected. It still doesn't address the question I asked them multiple times, which was HOW MUCH IS YOUR CHEAPEST BASIC CLEANING? GIVE ME A MINIMUM PRICE OR A RANGE AT LEAST. They did say they had a few different types of cleanings, so I asked for the price for the cheapest and the most expensive ones and they still refused to give it out without having me commit to an appointment. Obviously if I need "more than just a regular cleaning", the price will be different. Not disclosing pricing in advance is very suspicious TBH... They could've easily said "pricing will vary according to the patient's needs after the initial exam, but our prices start as $X and go up from there"... To address their "a cleaning might not be what you need" comment: I literally said I was using the cleaning prices for comparison reasons, I never said to guess what procedures I'd need and give me a quote on that. They refused to give me basic information any dentist's office usually gives. The whole thing felt like they were avoiding giving me any info, which is very odd. Once again, the dentist is probably decent (based on other reviews here), but if you want to have an idea of how much it'll cost you out of pocket, be prepared to pay almost $200 for the initial exam/visit first. Then, if you aren't happy with the pricing for cleanings (which tends to be the one thing that most people have to pay for at least twice a year), you'll have to pay for this same initial exam at another office if you decide to switch dentists again. We are now looking at White Oak Dental & Orthodontics and Only Smiles Dental, Daya G. Bale, DDS - both have very reasonable pricing and same or better reviews as this place if anyone is looking for other options.

No matter which hygienist I see, they are kind, considerate, caring, etc. Then doctor D'Apolito comes in only to wrap up with more warmth, more concern, more caring. I wish I found this practice sooner. I loved my prior dentist but the distance got to be too much. Dr D'Apolito is practically in my backyard; I regret waiting so long to make the decision to see him. You cannot find better than Dr. D'Apolito or the staff in his office. HIGHLY recommend.

Fantastic experience: I've been having TMJ. Issues, for sometime now, I googled TMJ doctors, I came across Dr. D’Apolito. I read the reviews and decided to give him a try. Well I must say the staff is amazing very friendly and helpful . Dr. D”Apolito is amazing he explained what was going on, why I was experiencing the headaches and jaw pain . He got right to work with creating a mouth guard for me to sleep at night, he also recommended physical therapy which is also helping with the headaches. I’m so happy I found such a great doctor with amazing bedside manner.
