Fantastic experience: I absolutely LOVE everyone there. I was abused by my old dentist when I was younger and was terrified of going to the dentist. I had a major problem with my teeth and no one wanted to help me and Mrs Tanya helped me without even knowing me. Once I came in I was so scared. Mrs Tanya held my hand the whole time. Then I meet Ms Wyn, an angel sent from heaven. She makes me feel so comfortable and SEEN!! I live in Slidell and they have another location down the street from my house but I drive and will continue to drive and see my peeps. Dr Skip is so cool he apologized for what happened to me and been great ever since. I can go on and on but I love it there. Hey Wyn, I love you hun!!!!

Fantastic experience: This was my first appointment with this office and the whole experience was great! Joclyn at the front desk was very kind and non-judgmental. The DA's Emily and Alijiah were really nice and patient. Monica was very gentle and thorough, and Dr. Tingstrom was very sweet and welcoming. Would definitely recommend coming to this office for any dental work you might need.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Metairie Modern Dentistry since approx. 2019, and I am truly grateful for the exceptional care I have received, especially from Dr. Richard Scipione. I have had some serious and complicated dental issues, and throughout it all, Dr. Scipione has shown incredible patience, compassion, professionalism, and genuine concern for my well-being. I am equally grateful to his entire staff for their kindness, patience, and excellent care. They have always made me feel heard, respected, and cared for. Fantastic experience: with. Wyn is super gentle with cleanings, Jaylan is super helpful with the X-rays and helping me with a sensitive gag reflex and Dr Tingstrom is always willing to chat and give great care options. This group always makes a trip to the dentist friendly and full of laughs (no laughs no gas required).

Fantastic experience: I was in town for a work trip and fell flat on my face I was worried about dental damage and after cancelling an appointment at Louisiana Dental in the Lakeside mall due to rude staff I called Metairie Modern Dentistry. Josephine at the front desk was extremely helpful and friendly and so was Jada the dental hygienist/assistant (I think that was her name). The dentist was also very friendly and assured my tooth looked good, she even offered to send my X-rays to my home dentist if needed. I’d recommend to anyone with emergency dental needs, it was quick and seamless!

Negative experience: these guys are just terrible with pricing, if you're not using dental insurance; they tell you a lower price over the phone, and when you get there, they give you a much higher price, and add in, well, if that's just a standard cleaning/there could be more services required. they did this to me twice. i understand companies need to make money, but this is not the way & is wrong. done with these guys & i highly do NOT recommend them!

Negative experience: Avoid this place at all costs. They overcharged me, they billed me for a procedure I didn’t get and then messed up my teeth that I’m still dealing with 2 years later.

Negative experience: Those lady was so fast pace and being not gentle during x-ray check up.Vwry bad experience seriously and I wouldn’t want go back there.

Fantastic experience: They were so friendly, patient, and clear with every step. Not once did I feel ignored or unheard. Ms. Jaylan, Ms. Monica, and Ms. Tingstrom were my three main caretakers. They were 10/10

Positive experience: Make sure you know what your insurance pays for. I've had issues with them trying to collect money from me that the insurance pays for. For example: basic cleaning. They have also attempted to collect other funds. I know what my responsibility is. I know what my dental plan pays for. I've had to call my Insurance company to correct them while I sat in the dentist's office chair! Be knowledgeable! Check your bill they send you. Know your insurance policy

Negative experience: The service was absolutely terrible. First, the front desk clerk asked for my medical and dental insurance, which was strange because dental offices typically don’t ask for that. Once I was seen to the back, I got my X-rays and everything that needed to be done. I was shown the room to see the dentist, who came in right away. I knew something was wrong before he even started. They gave me a chart showing different cleaning options, and when he came in, he started saying how he had to check my mouth to determine the type of cleaning I needed. Then, he started poking my gums hard and yelling numbers out quickly for six minutes. After that, he shook my hand and said that the final person would be in to discuss payment. I know for a fact that my insurance covered regular cleaning and 85% of deep cleaning. They pulled out a paper that said $600 co pay for a cleaning and added a bunch of other stuff. So, I said, “Okay, let me check somewhere else.” I’m currently going to another dentist 10 minutes away from this one, and I only have to pay a $15 co-pay for my cleaning. These people are absolutely terrible.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to this place for a few years now. I've had my wisdom teeth pulled. I get regular cleanings. The office staff is great. The hygienists are great. The dentist the Great and the surgeon what's really good. The best dentist office of ever been to won't be making any changes

Negative experience: Canceled appointment day of appointment. After several phone calls and asking them tedious questions, they discovered that they could not perform the procedure after all. My question is, why did it take so long to figure that out?

Fantastic experience: The staff at Metairie Modern were outstanding. I was blown away by the kindness and care I was shown from the moment I walked in the door. On top of the clean, peaceful setting it was the most comfortable dentist visit I’ve ever had despite needing extensive work. Dr. Tingstrom, Jaylan, and Wyn, I can’t thank you enough for giving me my smile back. Here’s to much deserved success for you in 2026!

Sorry, I left my wallet at Honolulu Airport and recently had it returned, that explains my delay. Fantastic experience: Every time I go to Metairie Modern Dentistry they have treated me with respect and understanding. Today I went in for a deep cleaning and Wyn was my hygienist. She was caring and kind, she always made sure I was good and I wasn’t in pain. Dr. Scipione has always been amazing. He doesn’t beat around the bush, and I like that. With the health of my teeth and gums I don’t want anything sugar coated for me. He always helps me with all the care and steps I need to take for my teeth. I highly recommend Metairie Modern Dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this place from the time you enter until the time you leave everyone is friendly. I had a procedure done and Kailen my hygienist was super friendly, very patient and informative. She thoroughly explained everything before having the procedure done. She made me extremely comfortable and the procedure was painless . I was shocked when I left and had no discomfort. Whenever I have to return I’m definitely requesting Kailen for all my visits!

Fantastic experience: Wyntria is one of the best hygienists I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. She understood that I was tight on time and went out of her way to advocate for me, ensuring I received excellent service without unnecessary delays. At a time when I was considering switching dentists, Wyntria’s professionalism and care reaffirmed my trust in the practice.

Negative experience: Extremely unprofessional!!! They don't know how to verify dental insurance. Twice they lied and pretended to call my insurance provider telling me they could not verify my coverage for the services I requested. I never received a treatment plan or estimates for my procedure. I'm still waiting. They took an unintelligible X-ray. I hope no one else has this problem they are in the network of the dental insurance I have.

Negative experience: Dentist is professional and nice. Hygienist is sweet and thorough. Receptionist who answers calls was terrible and the reason this office lost my family's future business after 3 years of getting cleanings/fillings for the 5 of us from them.

Positive experience: I had looked at my insurance online to find a dentist that accepted my insurance, and this place was accepting new patients. Great news! I made an appointment online and took the day off work. One of the gals at the front desk was chomping so loudly on potato chips, I could feel it. One lady asked me if I could ask my spouse questions about my insurance and just stared at me blankly when I stated that I had no spouse that covered me on my insurance that I pay for. The dentist was fine. The technician doing my x-rays seemed to be having fun playing with the machine. The dentist came in to look at my teeth and referred me out. So that was confusing. Having looked on my insurance website and read reviews, it seemed to me that they did everything here. I guess I will call the person they referred me to and maybe come back here??

Fantastic experience: Wyntria did an amazing job as my hygienist! She was quick and gentle, which I really appreciated because I normally have jaw pain after my dentist visits. But not with her!! Thank you for your exceptional care and wonderful bedside manner Wyn

Negative experience: Honestly the financial aspect of my appointment was where everything went wrong. The FIRST thing the young lady told me was it does not matter what dentist you go to the price will remain the same, which was very off putting to say before even discussing prices. Furthermore they tried to charge me $700 to get one tooth extracted and the soonest day to do so was over a month out while i was in excruciating pain. Obviously i was not paying to stay in pain that long. I found another dentist and t was only $225 to get the tooth removed same day no problem. I honestly felt like they were trying to scam me and this is the second time this has happened but i tried to give the office the benefit of the doubt. Not to mention the tooth i had problems with had a janky crown they put on. I paid for a warranty for the crown and when i got there they told me there was no record of that warranty…. 0/10 would NOT recommend. It’s nice and clean in there though.

Fantastic experience: Great team that truly cares which is sadly hard to find! Dr Tingstrom is one in a million, a genuinely compassionate and skilled doctor. I am very happy to find this office for my dental needs.

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this dentist office was frustrating enough to warrant one. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff seemed disinterested and unwelcoming. I was not greeted properly, and when I asked questions about my appointment, I was met with vague answers and a dismissive attitude. The wait time was excessive despite having a scheduled appointment, and no one bothered to update me or apologize for the delay. When it was finally got to see the dentist, the oxygen broke and when we told them the rush we were in to have the procedure done, I didn’t feel heard or cared for as a patient. Customer service is a huge part of any healthcare experience, and unfortunately, this office fell short in every way. I won’t be returning and would not recommend this place to others looking for professional and courteous dental care.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentistry that lives up to its name. For teeth cleaning they use the new style of “airflow” pick instead of the metal pick from the past. Exactly what I was looking for.

Negative experience: I gave up trying to get an appointment for wisdom teeth removal as the oral surgery coordinator would never return my calls to schedule an appointment.

Negative experience: Update: see bottom of review Went to this dentist and was immediately referred to a specialist which I completely understand due to implants. However when I tried to make the appointment with the specialist they said they need this doctor to confirm via phone call. I called his office at least fort times but they never followed through. So I couldn’t see the specialist. A few months later I have an abscess and called the office to either get an appointment or some antibiotics called in and he would do nether. IRRESPONSIBLE! Avoid. I wanted to add that I am a very anxious patient. It is not easy for me to summon the courage to go. I did so but feel even worse. The doctor did not follow through with the referral and refused to treat me. I feel disappointed, let down, unimportant and humiliated. They really hurt my feelings more than anything.

Wyn was especially sweet, welcoming,with a warm smile that put me at peace and even made me laugh. Overall, I had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend Metairie Modern Dentistry. Negative experience: Offering a $59 new patient cleaning special. Is a complete scam. Verbally clarified both on phone and in person at office before beginning that I was there for the $59 cleaning special, and that I would receive it that day at the quoted price. They confirmed this to me. It was a lie, to my face. Not a misconstruing, or a semantic difference. A straight up lie. They force you to do x-rays then attempt to upsell you on $1000's of unnecessary dental work. Tried to upsell me on a procedure that I just had done. Claimed it was done wrong, and I needed to do it again with them. Refused to honor their $59 special. Just wanted the cleaning they promised me. Complete waste of time and money. Absolute scam. Avoid this office at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Everyone at Modern Denistry is absolutely amazing. When you think of going to the dentist one might get complete anxiety but they go above and beyond to make you comfortable.

Negative experience: I’m very disappointed with the care I received at this office from Orthodontist Dr Gabrielle Roberts . She replaced my permanent retainer. The next day it partially detached while flossing, it began poking my tongue and causing discomfort. I called the office and was told I had to wait an entire week to be seen. Even after explaining the urgency and pain, there was no effort made to find a sooner appointment or offer an alternative solution. Eventually, the entire retainer came off, and I still hadn’t received a response. I ended up going to another provider who was able to fix it the same day. This kind of delay and lack of responsiveness is unacceptable and does not reflect good patient care. Emergencies shouldn’t be ignored or pushed off for a week. I won’t be returning to her ⸻

Negative experience: Just a super odd experience, would recommend going elsewhere. Went in for Xray, exam, and cleaning as a new patient under their new patient special. During the exam, the Dr. discovered some additional work that would be needed in the future. Rather than doing the cleaning and making a plan for the future, he immediately called in the billing specialist / receptionist to go over cost of this future work. When I said I wasn't interested in the additional services, they proceeded to try to talk me into a payment plan. When I said I wasn't interested in that, she ushered me out and the dentist did not ever clean my teeth. I was getting car salesman vibes. At check out I pressed the receptionist to let me close out any payment I owed because I do NOT want a surprise bill in the future. She looked at me like I was rude and/or crazy for asking, but assured me I was good to go and did not owe anything. However, because of the nature of their business, I would not be surprised if I were to receive a bill in the future and will update here if that happens. Edit: It has been a little over a month and I am editing to confirm that they have not charged me, which is appreciated

Fantastic experience: 10/10 and then some!!! I never thought I would actually look forward to going to the dentist but the staff at Metairie Modern Dentistry make it such a sweet and light experience. Tonya is phenomenal—she is very charismatic which made me feel comfortable upon arrival. She made check-in smooth and made sure I knew all the run down with insurance and payment information. From what I see she runs the ship and does it very well! I saw Dr. Lockhart, who took the time to greet me and walk me back for my first appointment which felt very personable and caring. She listened thoroughly to my previous dental experiences and took note of my (usual) difficulty to numb. Throughout her exam she vocalized each step and explained things to me which made me feel informed and apart of the process. I had to go back for a couple fillings and Dr. Lockhart numbed me completely on the first try(!!! all previous places I have been to usually took a few tries) and was so gentle and efficient. Her calm, warm demeanor and clear communication make me feel like I am in good hands. Highly recommend Metairie Modern Dentistry! Thank you for making the dentist a less scary place. You guys are awesome!

My teeth were in desperate need of treatment, but once again I assumed it wouldn't be affordable. However, Tonya and Allison worked their magic and made it possible!!! They were able to make sure I got every service I needed that same day!!! I was truly amazed at their dedication to get me the care I needed. Several months later, they are working their magic again. Tonya & Allison set the tone from the first call I made to the office, they are patient and ready to give personalized assistance for your specific dental concerns. Tamia made me feel comfortable when taking X-rays and was very informative. This is a dentist office that cares about their patient’s dental health and cosmetics. They offer a lot of services in office which is great so you don’t feel like you are being pushed to other offices. And the office was pristine. Highly recommend giving this place a try!

Negative experience: I don't like writing bad reviews, but I have to share my experience. I was searching for a new dentist, because my former dentist closed her office. I searched Goole and Metairie Modern Dentistry had good reviews. I made an appointment. From the moment I sat down, I felt like I was being scanned like an item in s supermarket, Cha Ching, Cha Ching, etc. After an hour and half nothing was done, no cleaning, no plan...with the exception of how much it was going to put me in debt. It was a total waste of time and insulting!

Fantastic experience: Had some work done today in preparation for a root canal. Dr Lockhart and Mrs sarah provided excellent patient care. Consistently checking to see how i was doing throughout the process as well thoroughly answering any questions I had. Mrs Tonya was also excellent. She handled all of the financial items and future appointment bookings. She worked with me throughout the whole process to come to an agreeable price for everything. Would definitely recommend them if you're looking for a new dentist!!

Fantastic experience: I found this place over a year ago and I'm hooked. I made the decision to focus on my oral care and get my smile back to my satisfaction. It's a huge insecurity I have. The biggest draw for me was and remains the mostly female staff/providers. The team is professional while remaining warm, engaging, and accommodating. The front desk staff is wonderful & Sarah is great every time I visit. I would recommend Met Modern Dentistry 10 times out of 10.

Negative experience: Booked here out of desperation and needing emergency dental work. Worst dental care I have ever received. First, they tried to tell me I didn't have active dental insurance and it turned out they just didn't want to do the work to call my insurance and verify my coverage status. They were going to try to bill me in full for the work and have me submit a separate claim to be reimbursed. I got on the phone with my insurance and had to push back on the staff at the front desk to ask them to correct the information in their system. Clinical assistant staff was green and not ready for seeing patients. I was in physical pain from them leaning on my mouth and lips for leverage while they did their work on my tooth. It took two different people to appropriately install a temporary crown. The first repeatedly slipped and scratched my gums while trying to install it. The second quickly got the work done. They falsely and inaccurately billed my insurance for a permanent crown so the dentist that I went to for the permanent crown had their claim denied. I tried calling Metairie Modern Dentistry to ask them to reprocess the claim and got forwarded to an automated voice message system. Nightmare from start to finish. DO NOT GO HERE for emergency dental work. Endodontic Specialists in Metairie takes same day/emergency appointments. They did my follow-up root canal and were fantastic.

Fantastic experience: I had an amazing experience with Dr. Tingstrom and her team Sarah and Wyn! They worked diligently to help me to understand what my current dental state is and how to improve. I felt deeply cared for by the team! Gina the care coordinator helped me to feel not so alone in sifting through payment options. She broke down the cost and informed me of my options. Tonya ended my visit on a great note and set up my next appointment! Overall it was a great experience! The only downside was parking, just make sure to come a bit early to find a spot!!

Negative experience: Went in for a normal cleaning with insurance and they refused, they wanted to charge me $490 for an advance cleaning I did not want. Total scam! Don’t go!

Positive experience: I just really wanted to share my experience to save anyone else from any surprise expense. I went to Metairie Modern Dentistry for a bridge. They were extremely professional and thorough. My doctor, Dr. Tingstrom-Suarez, was very nice and explained everything before doing any work. Here's the bad part... In under three years, my bridge broke. I was eating a tuna melt of all things??? I've now moved states, and my doctor said there was no reason it should have broken. She also said it was not something that could be repaired. She informed me that, were I to get a new bridge, the lab they work with warrantees the product for 7 years. (A bridge typically lasting 5-15 years). Before getting new work, (and with a sliver of hope) I called the Metairie office and they informed me that the lab they work with has NO warranty. That's why I wanted to share. Less then three years and I'm out double the money. Just ask questions and make sure you know the risks. Fantastic experience: Yes! A spectaular dentist experience. I had an issue with a retainer I got elsewhere and they were great at getting me in and out with the least amount of time and money spent. I heard them explaining cavaties to a little kid a room over and it was the most precious thing ever. Everyone was so kind & welcoming I almost wanted to just stick around and hangout!Thank you, Metarie Modern!!!!!

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Rachael McGehee, DDS by my dentist for oral surgery. I was extremely nervous about having oral surgery by a doctor I had never visited before. I have a fear of dental work in general. However, the front desk was very welcoming from start to finish making me feel very comfortable. I’m 11 weeks pregnant and even after a mix up with the release forms from my OB, Dr. McGehee was patient enough to wait for the corrections and able to complete my surgery as planned. She is very caring, attentive, and remains transparent throughout care. Every dental assistant in this office was also very patient, caring and attentive. I would definitely recommend this office to anyone I know for any dental work they may need.

Negative experience: I have been a patient for years. They have previously told me that I need to have my wisdom teeth pulled. I couldn’t afford it previously. They gave me a written detailed bill of what my out of pocket expense was going to be. I scheduled the surgery. I went in one week prior to the surgery for pre-op paperwork and to pay my portion. I was told that there was a computer glitch that happens sometimes and now my portion has doubled. They would not honor my written “financial agreement.” I canceled the surgery and will be looking for a new dentist. Not the best way to treat long term patients.

Fantastic experience: Can’t speak highly enough about this Dental clinic. From the staff, to the facilities, everything is top quality. My doctor is Dr. Jessica Tingstrom and I’ve been her patient for over 10yrs. What truly sets her apart from any other doctor I’ve met is her sense of empathy, compassion and unmatched bedside manner. It goes without saying that she’s an extremely knowledgeable and talented dentist who will always make you feel secure and comfortable while you are on her chair. Coupled with a great doctor are great teammates. Lori is my most recent hygienist, and not only she is soft and meticulous, but also a well of knowledge. Tonya is a show runner. She will meet with you, help you understand your coverage options and explain your treatment plan, AND work with you and your schedule; she is an instant friend once you meet her. Become a patient a Metairie Modern Dentistry, you will not regret it!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Lockhart and her assistant Ms. Jaylan were so friendly, kind, and accommodating during my visit. Ms Tonya at the front was great as well. Everything was thoroughly explained and the care provided was top notch. Ms Lori cleaned my teeth so well I feel like I have a brand new mouth. I am very happy I went and saw them. It had been about 4 years since I last saw a dentist so I was pretty apprehensive, but they made feel great and I’m really glad I went! I’ll be back for sure! Thank you all very much

Fantastic experience: I started going to Dr. Lockhart about a month ago. She is awesome! I have recomended her to all of my family! She is so kind and pleasant. She really takes the time to make sure I am comfortable and explain everything to me. And all of the staff are absolutely great! Fantastic experience: Monica takes care of my cleaning every 3 months. My gums and teeth are very sensitive, I always ask for Monica because she is very soft, careful and delicate.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lockhart is kind and took the time to explain the treatment plan and why she recommended it. Monica did a great job as my hygienist as well. Plus, it's so convenient that specialists practice out of the same clinic!!

Fantastic experience: Sarah, Susan, and Dr. Tingstrom were all wonderful as I came in to the office in pain. I went from crying in pain to crying from laughing. I didn't feel a thing once the anesthesia kicked in. Their bedside manner was awesome and I appreciate all they did to comfort me and start me on my journey of correcting the problem.

Positive experience: I made an emergency appointment and besides the wait to be seen, it was well worth it. Gina, Dr. Tingstrom, and her DA, Alijiah all beautiful staff. They all aided in getting me out of pain and being able to understand and afford the treatment. Greatly appreciated and NEVER disappointed!

Positive experience: Wyn is a very sweet and patient woman. She takes her time to do her job and explains the whole procedure to you. The main thing is that she gives you a lot of confidence and the truth is that she is an angel.

Negative experience: I would "NOT" advise anyone to TRUST "Metairie Modern Dentistry's" (MMD) BUSINESS PRACTICES!!! I have TWO (2) separate DENTAL "INSURERS," BOTH along with "MMD" CONFIRMS MDD'S IN-NETWORK status WITH my INSURERS. And, the "INSURER" consulted with MDD to confirm that the CONTRACTED procedure MDD'S Provider suggests would be 100% covered by BOTH of my INSURERS COMBINED contracted payment agreements with MDD, WITHOUT ANY "ADDITIONALLY" required OUT-OF-POCKET payments from the insured (ME)! However, MDD "INTRANSIGENTLY" REFUSED to HONOR their CONTRACTED "IN-NETWORK" agreement with the INSURERS and insisted, that, I was required to pay MDD an "ADDITIONAL" OUT-OF-POCKET FEE, "DESPITE" MDD being AWARE that "BOTH" of my INSURER were COUNSELING with BOTH MYSELF and MDD that the COMBINATION of my insurance coverage payments would satisfy 100% of THEIR providers contracted procedure's cost, "WITHOUT ANY" OUT-OF-POCKET PAYMENT REQUIRED!!! When the INSURERS called me back, to confirm the status of my procedure with MDD, I was informed that MDD "DISCONTINUED RESPONDING" to the "INSURERS" Communications request from MDD. Given the TOXIC nature of MDD'S "BUSINESS CULTURE," I was THANKFUL, that, I was "NOT" able to complete my procedure with the Endodontist at MDD'S facility. I suppose everything happens for a reason! And, it's so sad; because, my evaluation with MDD provider didn't have any problem, with my "SAME" TWO (2) INSURERS.

Negative experience: Wait time is always long. Appointment at 1 pm but it’s 1:40 and they are not ready yet. Especially when you are fasting and you have to have a designated driver present all the time.

Negative experience: If you don't mind waiting nearly an hour to be seen every time then by all means, this is a great dentist. I however am over it. I happened to be late myself one time and they wouldn't fit me in. I didn't get a reminder message for the appointment either. It's just frustrating to be on time every single time and to have to wait a minimum of 45 minutes to go back....and youre expected to deal with it every time, but I'm turned away the one time I'm late. But because this is the norm here, I feel like showing up 45 minutes late would be considered on time. I already had to reschedule my last visit because they took so long and I had an important vet visit for my dog that I had to get to afterwards. They didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. The staff has always been helpful, kind and thorough but this place has horrible time management. They also do x rays at every visit. It seems totally unnecessary and all of this radiation can't be good. Even getting back there it takes a long time to finish. A simple cleaning shouldn't take so long. I'm thinking it's probably better if you're going to schedule with them to schedule something before lunch or towards the end of the day because I'm sure that's when they actually start hustling to get out of there. So maybe your wait won't be as long.

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist makes me extremely anxious and that combined with lack of insurance made me go without for several years. My retainer broke recently and I figured that while I was getting it fixed, I'd also have a cleaning. Since I hadn't been in a while, I ended up needed more work than I planned and of course panicked. The staff here are some of the most compassionate people I've met. They provided me with headphones (I forgot mine), walked me through everything that was happening, kept me calm, and worked with me on cost. Dr. Scipione, Wyntria, Gina, and Tonya - THANK YOU!
