I walked into their office about 5 years ago on the verge of severe periodontal disease, Dr. Melcher and his team put together a plan of action and went to work. It wasnt easy but after a deep clean, 2 root canals, 3 crowns, 1 extraction, a few fillings and several routine cleanings I am happy to say my teeth are back to normal, and thanks to Ms. Cherie and her dental hygiene expertise l, I have not had a cavity in over 2 years and I get my teeth cleaned 3 times a year. I am forever grateful for the plan that they put me on and for setting me on the right course of prevention. Yall are the best!

It would have saved me a lot of time & money. He takes most insurance and is located in the bend on Jefferson Hwy in Harahan. It couldn't be more convenient. All his employees are super nice as well. I won't use any other dentist from here on out!!! Really you should check him out! He's a fantastic dentist, a really nice man!!! I promise you won't be disappointed.

Negative experience: My first visit was a cleaning which was fine, but they did tell me I had some cavities. This was my first experience with cavities so I had no frame of reference or information on what the process of filling them looks like. When I went to get my cavities filled, the whole process was very impersonal and they didn’t check in with me or explain what was happening. Like many people, I’m not a huge fan of the dentist, but having things explained to me, makes it less intimidating. Getting my cavities filled was not a great experience and made worse by their lack of empathy and care. I decided I did not want to go back. But then I had some sensitivity and they said I should come back to get them checked. While I was there the second time, they informed me that one of the cavities I had was very deep and so they took x-rays to make sure there was no further issues. This was the first time they were telling me that this cavity was anything more than superficial. They were able to fix the sensitivity, but later I found out that my insurance was charged for the x-rays. Overall, I was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism in explaining the process and recovery, charging my insurance without consulting me first, and not informing me of the condition of my teeth. When I called to ask about my insurance being charged for the X-rays, they apologized but made no effort to correct the issues I faced. I am overwhelmingly disappointed in the services I receive and the lack of professionalism. I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: The staff are very friendly and professional. The Dr actually takes time to listen and explain. Would absolutely recommend them !! The ONLY complaint/disappointment I had was that they did not let me pick from the prize box !!! 10 out of 10 recommend !!!

Negative experience: Always follow your gut. The red flags were present. If a doctor second guesses a procedure, move to get a second opinion. I wasted 5 hours and now I have to.come out of pocket to fix what he messed up. I guess me informing them the assistant almost choked me caused this. I am learning that anything dealing with medicare, LA doctors give you the worst treatment.
