Comfort Dental - Lee’s Summit

Negative experience: ⭐️ 1/5 — Extremely frustrating and disorganized experience. I do NOT recommend Comfort Dental based on my experience today. I called Monday to schedule a cleaning and was given a 12:00 PM appointment for Thursday. During that call, I was specifically asked about my dental insurance. I explained that my insurance had not changed, that I had personally been seen at this same office about four months ago, and that my daughter—who has the exact same insurance—had also recently been seen there. They even pulled up my daughter’s information while I was on the phone. I arrived today at 12:00 for my appointment. It is now after 1:00 PM, and I am leaving without receiving ANY dental service. When I arrived, I was told there was an issue verifying my insurance. I personally called my insurance company while sitting in their office and had the necessary information faxed over. Eventually, the office discovered that my member ID had changed and told me they would get me back for my cleaning. Then, around 12:45–12:50, I was told there was another problem. Apparently, my previous cleaning had been entered/coded incorrectly in their system. I was told my last cleaning was actually a periodontal cleaning rather than a basic cleaning and that they now needed pre-approval from my insurance before they could perform today’s cleaning. Otherwise, I would have to pay out of pocket. Absolutely not. If your office incorrectly coded my previous treatment, that is an administrative issue on your end—not something I should have to financially absorb. More importantly, why was none of this handled BEFORE my scheduled appointment, especially when insurance was specifically discussed when I scheduled it? I took time away from work, arrived for my appointment on time, spent over an hour trying to help resolve issues that should have been addressed beforehand, and still left without getting my teeth cleaned. Mistakes happen. What is unacceptable is poor communication, lack of preparation, and expecting a patient to pay out of pocket because of an error the office says was made during their previous visit. After today, I will be finding another dental provider. My time is valuable, and this level of disorganization is unacceptable.

Fantastic experience: Professional, courteous, accommodating, patient, and thorough. They take the time to explain procedures and discuss options. After numerous visits over the past few months, I felt compelled to finally leave a 5-star review. Not that I ever look forward to going to the dentist, but I feel comfortable going back to this location. I have been seen by three different dentists there, and all of them have been very friendly, patient, and respectful. My experience with the DAs has varied a bit from visit to visit, but I understand that can happen in a busy office, especially when staff are still gaining experience. Overall, I have felt well cared for, and the dentists have earned my trust.

She took her time to make sure everything was fixed just right and was very compassionate, understanding and caring! I wish she could be my regular dentist! I highly recommend her to anyone in Lees Summit area!

Negative experience: I’m extremely disappointed with this place. They charged my insurance twice for a cleaning over two years, yet I haven’t even been able to get a single cleaning done. This is completely unacceptable and feels dishonest. At this point, it comes across as nothing more than a scam. Save yourself the time, frustration, and money. Do not go here

Fantastic experience: Mariya did a fantastic job of cleaning my teeth. She was very attentive to my comfort during the entire process. She is very personable and friendly. Dr. Bob spent a lot of time with me after the cleaning reviewing the X-rays to clarify a go forward plan for any identified issues. I highly recommend Comfort Dental for your dental care.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Diaz and her staff are wonderful! I have no anxiety about dental work! Compassionate care with personality! I appreciate all of the staff at Comfort Dental, however, Mariah, the hygienist, goes out of her way to make sure patients are comfortable and feel like they are the only person in the office. Fantastic experience: This was my first time at Comfort Dental- Lees Summit and the service was amazing from the moment I called to make a reservation. Dr. Diaz was very thorough and knowledgeable in going through the care and treatment I will be receiving. Maraya, the hygienist, was gentle with cleaning services knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend Comfort Dental if you’re new to the area and looking for dental care provider.

Negative experience: I've been going here for a couple years and enjoy Dr Bob. However, this last year, it seems most the office staff have changed and I don't get the professionalism I once did. Last September 2025, I received a quote for a crown I need. My insurance had maxed out for the year so they gave me a quote for my out of pocket cost. I waited it out until my benefits renew after the 1st of the year. So on January 4th, I emailed them and asked them to please send a preauthorization to my insurance for the crown. I got no response. On February 9th, I sent a letter, along with my quote, asking them again to please send a preauthorization to my insurance. They again don't respond. I checked my insurance today, 2/20/26 and no preauthorization was received. Dr Bob is great and does a good job, but it seems the customer service of the office staff is disappointing. After my last visit, I received a bill for some fillings, since my insurance was maxed out, but I had a secondary insurance on file that would cover it, so I shouldn't received the bill. It was taken care of, but the whole experience was disappointing. The original office staff and assistants that were there when I first started were great. What happened?

Fantastic experience: I absolutely HATE going to the dentist but I love this location! They're so welcoming and don't make me feel bad for not coming as often as I should. They're very gentle!

Negative experience: My nephew had an appointment, which we arrived early for, and we waited over an hour and a half in the lobby for a simple teeth cleaning. When I expressed my concern about the wait to the dental assistant she was upset and unapologetic. If they couldn't muster some empathy in this situation that also makes me think they could care less about their patients teeth. Very rude and unprofessional business. I didn't get to say goodbye to my sister, who had to catch a flight, because I was stuck in this dental office for such a long time. Also they play AI generated commercials in the lobby so that should also tell you something about their practices.

Fantastic experience: I must admit. I wasn't looking forward to my dental work scheduled for today. Not even a little bit. But the minute I sat down in that chair. And had two great assistants come back and not only kid around with me. But made me feel comfortable from the start. Even while they administered shots. They did so in such a way.I could barely feel them. After finishing in came Dr Bob. He was cool, calm, and full of confidence. But with his every move. He was quick to double check with me. To make sure I was okay. I was only half kidding with him when I said he had the hands of God. Because my procedure wasn't the easiest for him to perform. And by the time he was done. I couldn't believe that there wasn't more discomfort. Need a caring dentist you can trust? I would have given them 10 Stars if I could have.

Negative experience: scheduled my appointment last week. provided CORRECT insurance on the phone. they said they can’t share info between locations so they need new xrays- cool, no problem. she claims she tried to call me friday, I did not receive any call or voicemail from them. I show up 15 mins early for my appointment. they take 30 mins to say my insurance is wrong- I gave them the wrong card, I needed to give them member ID for the umbrella company under them, but I already provided everything on the phone so it shouldn’t have been a problem. 3 people who showed up after me go in before me. after waiting 35 minutes they tell me they still need to verify my insurance. I had another appointment after this so I was unable to attend this appointment. very frustrating, terrible experience considering I took the correct steps prior- it should not take that long for an office that is not busy at all to get me seen when this should have already been handled. go here if you want to waste your time.

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist can be scary for most people. Me I’m most people! When I tell you those ladies made me feel so comfortable. Mariah and Brittany were both amazing they had me laughing the whole time and then boom it was over. They also work very well together, great chemistry and you don’t see that often in the work place. I’m looking forward to coming back and getting my other procedure done. 10/10 I recommend

The dental hygienist, Mariah, is an angel, and my kids and I adore her! The staff encourage our kids to strive for excellence in their dental care and celebrate their triumphs. Fantastic experience: I went to visit the Lee’s Summit Comfort Dental today for a cleaning, and let me tell you… It was the best experience I’ve ever had at a dentist’s office! Mariya, the hygienist, was so patient, polite, and incredibly helpful. I had a ton of questions, and she took the time to break everything down for me with no problem at all. On top of that, she’s absolutely gorgeous! So, way to go Mariya! You made my visit a 10/10!

Negative experience: Waste of time. Made an emergency appointment to get a tooth removed as it was causing extreme pain and the dentist said she didn't have time. Why let me waste time and money if your not going to fix the problem? Just gave a prescription for some ibuprofen for the pain.

Fantastic experience: EDIT: Two years later and this is still my dentist office. The quality has never slipped and the dentists here are so uniquely caring and friendly. I've had cleanings, cavities filled and extractions all since my first visit and it's always been a fantastic experience. If I could rate this place higher than 5 stars I would. Original: This was a very good dentist office. I had my x-rays done, some fillings completed and a cleaning. I have certain anxieties about the dentist office (I don't feel like I'm unique in that, though - the dentist is scary), but the staff and Doctor Bob made it a weirdly enjoyable experience. The staff was friendly from the second I walked in. I felt welcomed immediately. Doctor Bob listened to my concerns and fully went at MY pace to get the procedures done. He was very concerned with my comfort which I appreciated a lot. He knew exactly what he was doing and had an air of confidence to him that made me trust him completely. At no point did he make me feel condescended to, judged or like "just another patient" to get in the door and out. He was truly wonderful. I'm happy I stumbled across this office. I still don't like going to the dentist, but if I have to I know exactly where to go. If you're looking around for a dentist, give this place a shot.

Fantastic experience: I cannot recommend Dr. Bob Morrisey and his assistant highly enough! I recently had a wisdom tooth extraction, and the entire process was absolutely painless. Dr. Morrisey and his team were incredibly attentive, checking on me every five minutes to ensure I was comfortable and at ease. Their professionalism, care, and genuine concern for their patients made this the best dentist experience I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a dental team that truly goes above and beyond, Dr. Morrisey is the one to choose!

Fantastic experience: I live in Belton. The Grandview location is much closer to me, but I just prefer this location so I make the drive. They always get me in during an emergency. The staff are great and personable. Sabrina is awesome!

Negative experience: I will not be returning! This place is a joke! They completely wasted my time! I was taken back to get my x-rays, which went well. Then was told the Dr would be in shortly... 45 mins later I'm still waiting. She finally comes in. She is clearly annoyed (I can only assume at the staff), she seemed to rush through the exam & notes. She then informs me I won't be getting a cleaning today because their hygienist is only in every other Saturday. This was a new patient appointment!!! A cleaning is standard with new patients, or so I thought. I made this appointment 2 weeks in advance. I should have been called to reschedule on a day a hygienist was in office. If that wasn't enough. When I leave, I'm directed to the reception desk. The receptionist states they forgot to sign the document and she'd be right back. I decided this was a good time to step into the bathroom. I return to the desk a few mins later. I can see the receptionist talking to two colleagues around the corner. I stand there for 10 mins watching them. No one looked up or acknowledged my presence, so I walked out. 30 mins later I recived a call stating that I left without checking out. Unbelievable!!!

Fantastic experience: Tonight I had an emergency extraction on five teeth I was in so much pain the DR. Here really did a great job removing all five teeth took some time but he was patient caring and on top of his business I will be using comfort care for many more years to come they don't yank your head around or any of that very gental an he talked me threw the whole thing easing the anxiety was a great experience compared to other dentist I have used in the past!!!! Negative experience: I would give 5 stars if it was just for Dr. Bob. He has helped me in getting my teeth straight. The reason for the 2 stars is because the staff is not knowledgeable and has made it difficult to have a pleasant experience.

Negative experience: I had an emergency appointment today for a tooth ache. They advertise a new patient special of $185 value for $19. I’m a new patient, and was not charged $19. Nothing was done today to relieve my pain for an emergency visit. I was told I’d have to go somewhere else, and that I would need 1-2 root canals, and 1-2 crowns. I was then sent home with thousands of dollars in quotes and financing info. I went to an emergency dentist immediately after leaving, and they took extensive X-rays to see I only had a minor cavity that was fixed for less than $150. The “care” I received at Comfort Dental was an absolute JOKE.

Fantastic experience: Had to get a wisdom tooth out and had so much anxiety, saw Dr. Bob and he assured me that everything would be okay. I will go back to this guy for sure! The whole team was excellent. He got my tooth out in 1.1 second and was very gentle

Negative experience: Wait times over an hour for my daughter, finally get back to the chair and again see patients that arrived way after her getting care first. Can’t help but think there is priority in care and service for those who have private insurance plans vs. Medicaid. All patients should be treated equally…

Fantastic experience: Great group of ladies, I walked away very impressed and how thorough they were with everything! I believe they went above and beyond. They were my 3rd dentist I checked this year and they stood out to me the best! I’m excited to stick around and get my things taken care of by such a diligent group!

Fantastic experience: I was in pain and hadn’t been to the dentist in awhile. Dr Tucker and Brittany her assistant were amazing!!! My anxiety was at an all time high and they were both calm . Dr Tucker gave me frequent breaks between the work she was doing just to assure me I was okay. Never once did they ever seem to get frustrated are seen to have an attitude. I will definitely be setting up my appointment for a full check up now. I would recommend this office fully

Negative experience: I tried to get my wisdom teeth pulled out here months ago and never even got to see the dentist after waiting for hours. I’m here again today bringing a family member to get her tooth filled, we had left and everything went well. But as we got home she got a call saying she needed to come back to take more x rays. I just think it’s really unprofessional and inconsistent and inconsiderate above all. They’re a cheap place to get your teeth done and waste your time.

Positive experience: I got the MOST HORRIBLE dentures imaginable.. it's been months and they don't fit right, they are uncomfortable, I can't chew without gluing them in. I wasn't able to pick my teeth before they made them and my dentist said that she was a professional and she knows what is right and what I need. What a crock! How dare her? How arrogant is that? ((I had beautiful, large teeth before my mother, years ago, ( she has dementia, and is alcoholic) broke them with a whiskey glass))**** So..what I am telling y'all...do the research... Go somewhere else.... Period... because, once it's done.. There you are...

Fantastic experience: I think I saw Dr.Johnson today (normally I see Dr.Diaz and she's also amazing) and he was one of the BEST Dentist I've seen in awhile. He was honest and didn't sugar coat anything which I appreciated. His work was gentle and fast and gave me great advice moving forward. Thank you for being so friendly and talking me through things.

Negative experience: Dr. Johnson was a replacement for his wife on maternity leave. He was extremely rude and completely disregarded the concerns that me and my son had about pain and bleeding gums, just because my son is not very good at keeping up with brushing. The entire vist that was all he kept saying. It made us feel as if he didn't see us as worthy or as human. We requested for a cleaning and his exact words to my son were "Why wouldIdosomethingfor you that you don't do for yourself" that was extremely rude and unprofessional and I will look into doing something farther about getting this issue looked into farther.

Fantastic experience: If you fear "THE DENTIST ", this is your place. If you fear "THE COST", this is your place. All the Doctors, Hygienists, Staff are great. Their care for the patient is outstanding, and they're available on your time table.

Positive experience: My 7 year old daughter has extreme anxiety about going to the dentist. We both had appointments today at Comfort Dental and saw Dr Diaz. She is very nice and makes you feel comfortable. The dental assistants/hygienists who helped us, Nadia and Mariyah were very good with my daughter, and they even let her clean her own teeth while sitting on my lap in the chair. At the end my daughter was happy and not scared anymore. We are hopeful to get some X-rays next time, but baby steps!!

Fantastic experience: I had a really bad toothache late Friday night, 02/23/24, and spent most of that night in excruciating pain. I used that time to look for a dentist in our network that was open on Saturdays. I don’t know how many places I called early Saturday morning but they were all either fully booked or shorthanded. I called Comfort Dental in Lee’s Summit and was also told they were fully booked as well but if their other 2 locations couldn’t see me then to call them back and they’ll squeeze me in. Well they made good on their word and got me in that day. Found the tooth that was bothering me, got me on antibiotics and pain meds then scheduled me an appointment to get it taken cared of. That appointment was yesterday, 02/27/24, and today my mouth is healing quite well and I couldn’t be more thankful for the doctor and his team he has working there. Highly recommend.

Positive experience: Wonderful experience. The wait was a bit long but I imagined it was a busy day. The service outdid the wait! I walk in the front desk has great communication as well as the ladies in the back. Great energy! Loved it!!

Fantastic experience: Today was my first day of going to Lee summit Missouri comfort dental. Dr Bob at he calls himself introduced himself to me. I find him very amusing and very educated at what he does. I had several tooth extractions done at same time and with no pain at all. The assistants did very well also. Overall this is going to be my dentist office from now on. Well with the drive from Sedalia. Thanks Dr Bob. The tooth fairy for Halloween. Your wings looked good on you. Tell your wife she did a great job on making them. Update January 26 2024 I had another appointment for couple teeth extractions and Dr Bob did his magic and made it happen.. no pain and was a wonderful experience I highly recommend this comfort dental for all your dental needs.
