Fantastic experience: Pleasant experience everyone was very kind and welcoming. They helped cleaned my teeth making it nice and polished! :)

Positive experience: My first visit, I expected some conversation about my fears of going to the dentist. Some insurances of comfort, different ways to alleviate my stress etc. but I received none. Even with my tears flowing and obvious panic attack, there was no gentleness, no words of comfort. All business. Although I have to admit the extraction was less painful than I had imagined, I don't think I'll be going back.

Fantastic experience: First time here and I'm impressed with the staff, super friendly. The Hygienist cleaned my teeth to perfection. Dr. Peterson comes highly recommended. I'll be be back.

Fantastic experience: I went to Smart Dental to have my teeth whitened. Amari was amazing and did such a great job. I love how white my teeth look now. I would definitely do it again!

Negative experience: DO NOT GO HERE. I went here for two years, and during that time, one of my molars was cracked. A filling also broke, but the dentist refused to fix it and told me the filling was perfectly fine. I went to another dentist for a second opinion, and they confirmed that the filling was broken and needed to be repaired, just like I had suspected. In my experience, this office kept recommending crowns and additional treatment that I did not feel was necessary. I felt like they were more interested in creating a larger treatment plan than properly addressing the issues I came in with. I believe my teeth were damaged, and I will be pursuing this in court, including looking into a malpractice claim. Also, the responses to negative reviews are very unprofessional. Whoever responds to them comes across as immature and dismissive instead of taking patients’ concerns seriously.

Fantastic experience: OMG!! The level of care and compassion this team has is out of this world. I was experiencing pain from a broken tooth and I had called everywhere trying to get in and was denied, I called this office and they got me in immediately! The gentleness of the dentist I didn’t even feel him numb my mouth and normally I can feel that big needle, or the extraction, he did try hard to save my tooth and if my budget had permitted I would’ve went with the options he had for me. The best part is they let me keep my tooth, even gave me a cool little box to put it in!!! This place deserves more than five stars 10/10 recommend

Fantastic experience: Absolute best dentist I've ever been to. I hate going to the dentist, I've neglected my teeth for a very long time due to bad dentists and when I went to smart dental to get my teeth removed for dentures I assumed it would be the same terrible experience, this dentist is incredible, patient, amazing at his job and comforting. He pulled 16 teeth in a little over 35 minutes and knew exactly what he was doing. I would go back and see him everyday of the week. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: We just changed to a new dental provider so my wife and I had no first hand knowledge on the type of service to expect. After our visits, we were both in agreement that the service and attention to detail given to each of us exceeded our expectations. Dr. Petersen and his entire staff were both great communicators and professional in their duties. My wife and I both scored on our decision to go with Smart Dental as our new dental provider.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Peterson is beyond amazing! So friendly and gentle! Everybody there in the office is so loving and so kind! It makes going to the dentist so wonderful! I know a lot of people don’t like the dentist, but that will change once you go to this dentist!

Fantastic experience: Got to the bottom of my tooth pain and was able to identify some fillings. Was able to relieve some dentist anxiety that has existed since childhood. I feel more confident about my smile and am feeling more energized to take care of them moving forward. All staff here are excellent and I dont know if I've had a better dental experience yet.

Fantastic experience: New patient exam today. They took X-rays of all my teeth and did a thorough exam. Dr. Petersen even went through each X-ray and showed me everything he was seeing. After the exam Annette the dental hygienist came in and gave me the best cleaning I have had in years. Another plus was that I was able to do all the paper work online prior to the appointment so I got to skip the big packet of paper work that you have to fill out. Very good experience and would recommend. Can’t wait for my 6 month cleaning.

Fantastic experience: I love these guys!! From the first phone call with Mayreli to interactions with Donni as I go out the door, never have I experienced so much acceptance and understanding. Dr. Peterson is so wonderful, being sure I know what my treatment plan entails and that I'm comfortable during procedures. I've had the pleasure of interacting with Serelle, Amori and Mayreli in and out of the exam room, they have all eased mu anxiety while filling me full of confidence for the next step. I 100% recommend the fabulous team at Smart Dental for all your dental needs.

Fantastic experience: I was in for a tooth extraction, the procedure itself was pretty much painless! The doctor was able to remove the whole tooth without leaving any shards behind. It was a quick healing process, got gummed over in about a week! Not just that, the doctor listened to my concerns about the tooth needing removal and expedited my request. It was a quick and hassle free experience and everyone was very kind :)

Fantastic experience: I went in for a cleaning. It was my first time there and everyone was very friendly. The cleaning was quick and afterwards they made sure that I was aware of the details and were able to schedule a follow up appointment for fillings within the same week.

Fantastic experience: Front office staff is very welcoming and friendly ✨ I came in for my first appointment, got a cleaning with the hygienist. She was very nice and made me feel comfortable. She also gave me really good tips on flossing certain areas. The doctor is also very friendly, the exam was thorough. Everyone asked if I had any questions. At the end of my appointment I let them know I had to get to work and they made sure I made it out the door on time . I really appreciated that!! I have had some really bad experiences with other dentists and He is very caring and gentle. Fantastic experience: I was really nervous about giving another dentist office a try after previously not so great dentist office experience, but I’m glad I have Smart Dental a shot! Not only were they willing to work with my work schedule to get me in for a last minute appointment, but when I got there, everyone was so welcoming! Dr. Petersen took the time to get to know me as a person, and himself and his assistant explained everything they were doing. They were also very transparent about the cost and help break down the best approach to treatment would be for me. I am really glad I gave them a try and now they are stuck with me!

Fantastic experience: I love this place they are always really good to me and make me feel safe and comfortable, they are especially good at finding appointments that fit my schedule and working with me for my schedule, i really appreciate that, they deliver on this every time. Everyone here is always kind to me and they do great dental work and don’t push anything on me and have understanding when i can’t come in or when i can’t afford to make another appointment for a while, they always work with me kindly. My insurance covers everything for me and that’s all i can afford so when i can’t schedule an appointment kent cuz i can’t afford they don’t shame me, i appreciate this. Been going here for about 3 or 4 years now, I’m very thankful for this place God is with them !

Fantastic experience: I just wanted to share our experience with Dr. Peterson. I recently took my adult son into the dentist after many years of dental neglect due to a bad dental experience years ago. I finally talked to my son into going to see Dr. Peterson. I practically had to drag him in there, but he did agree to go he was extremely nervous. After the initial exam We found out he needed an extensive His top teeth Pretty much all of them. The staff offered financing and a calming medication for him to take the day of the appointment! my son was there over three hours had two crowns done a root canal and several cavities. Dr.Peterson was extremely patient with him. Caring explained everything he was doing made him feel very calm and comfortable with all the procedures and did a wonderful job getting so much done in a short amount of time! And believe me if you knew my son, you would know he is not an easy patient with this being said I highly recommend Dr. Peterson to anyone that has had a bad experience previously he is very gentle and patient. I am forever grateful for Dr. Peterson taking the time with my son and helping him fix his teeth!!!!!

Fantastic experience: After being away from a dentist for quite a while, the staff was so compassionate and understanding about my anxiety. Elona, the hygienist was so patient and caring during my cleaning. Dr. Petersen explained everything to me and the other staff was just as supportive and kind. Fantastic experience: I reached out to Smart Dental needing an emergency cavity filling. They weren't in the office the day I was calling, and so they gave me some recommendations for other places to try. While I reached out to a couple of other places, they were lacking the friendly and quick responses of Smart Dental so I decided to delay treatment for a couple of days to try them out. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt comfortable. Staff was efficient and friendly and my dental anxiety wasn't triggered. During the procedure the Dr was very attuned and responsive. My experience with Smart Dental was overwhelmingly positive.

Fantastic experience: I’m newer to the area and I had an excellent experience at Smart Dental after a not so great experience at another local dental office. Dr. Petersen was very thorough and gentle. I needed a couple of fillings and he was able to do them the same day as my initial appointment. The office staff was really great and so was the assistant. So far I’m really impressed with this office and look forward to having a dentist who cares!

Positive experience: I recently moved to the Richland area and saw a Facebook ad for Smart Dental offering a “FREE toothbrush for new patients!” I clicked the link, which directed me to Messenger and sent an automatic message to their page. Someone responded quickly, asked for my availability and insurance, and got me scheduled for a week later. They also sent a link to fill out the new patient forms ahead of time instead of in the office. However, when I arrived for my appointment, I was told during the visit that my insurance doesn’t cover the “free” toothbrush—only private insurances do? When I asked why it wasn’t disclosed, the dentist said it would look bad to put “state insurance not included” in the ad. I was disappointed because I had been excited and told my family, as I’ve always wanted an electric toothbrush. There were also signs in the office about a “free burrito—ask us how!” but I was told by the assistant that my insurance probably wouldn’t cover that either. So these items aren’t truly free—they’re billed to insurance, if applicable. That said, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The dentist felt a bit rushed but still took time to answer my questions, and he kindly offered to give me the toothbrush after I get my crown done. They completed a cleaning and explained that the needed single crown isn’t covered by state insurance, but they gave me a 10% discount, bringing the cost to $1,636.20. Overall, I’d give them 3 stars—the care and team were good, but the lack of transparency in their promotions was disappointing.

Negative experience: I scheduled to have a cleaning done. Prior to my cleaning I chipped my front tooth so had an urgent appointment with the dentist to repair. From that very 1st appointment I should have known this clinic wasn't for me. With no prior history or even a how are you, the dentist immediately went off on how I needed to quite smoking. Ok fine no big deal. However I have a chronic condition due to malnutrition and vitamin defects I struggle with dental issues. Fast forward to this morning the clinic is not open on Sundays but even if it were I wouldn't have known I'd wake up with a fever and puking. So I asked to cancel and reschedule and was told no because they require 48hours notice. Tell me how am I able to give 48hrs notice if your closed Saturday and Sunday and my appointment is Monday morning. I've blocked your number don't bother reaching out. You have poor services and need to learn respect and update your policies to match health code i don't think any dentist, hygienist or even the check in staff would like to be exposed.
