Negative experience: This review is specifically about Dr. Lewis E. Hootnick, not the staff of Dental Associates as a whole. I have been a patient of Dental Associates since I was a child in the 1970s. They were my very first dental office, and with only a few exceptions, they have provided my dental care for virtually my entire life. I am now 56 years old in 2026. Because of that history, this review is especially difficult for me to write. The doctors, hygienists, assistants, and office staff I have encountered over the years have consistently been kind, professional, and compassionate. In fact, I even wrote a testimonial for Dental Associates several years ago that is still featured on their website. Unfortunately, my more recent experiences with Dr. Hootnick, have changed my opinion. Over the past several months, I have experienced what I believe was a lack of empathy, respect, and professionalism from Dr. Hootnick. As a result, I have endured unnecessary pain, emotional distress, significant time, and considerable expense. What has disappointed me most is what happened afterward. During the past four months, I have written to both Dr. Hootnick and the office manager in a sincere effort to understand what happened and why I felt I was treated the way I was. I wasn’t looking for an argument or confrontation, I was simply hoping for an honest conversation and some acknowledgment of my concerns. To date, I have not received any response. I do not write this review out of anger. I have chosen to forgive Dr. Hootnick and genuinely wish him well. However, forgiveness does not change my experience. After being a patient of Dental Associates for most of my life, I have made the difficult decision not to return. Because of my experience with Dr. Hootnick, I cannot recommend him to others. I sincerely hope that no future patient leaves feeling the way I did.

Fantastic experience: I recently chipped a tooth and Dental Associates was able to fit me in the very next day. From the moment I arrived, the team was calm, professional, and immediately put me at ease. Dr. Chang quickly placed a temporary fix and then put on a new crown shortly after. The final result looks completely natural. You cannot tell there was ever an issue. I also want to highlight how smooth everything was from start to finish. Dr. Chang and the hygienists were excellent, and the administrative staff was organized, responsive, and efficient in getting me scheduled and taken care of. I already trusted them for regular checkups, but the way they handled this situation really stood out. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: I had cleaning today 1/19/2026. I received intolerable pain. An investigation is requested.

Negative experience: Would not recommend! Ben going here for 3 years or so. In that time I have gone thru 4 or so dentists that seem to leave the practice for various reasons. The front desk and back offices seem to not be on the same page in regards to work that’s Ben done, billing. The icing on the cake for me is I had 6 fillings done by this establishment that have fallen out. Every time I go to have them fixed it is an absolute struggle to get them to fix there improper work and cover the cost of the repair. They seem to rather make excuses that it is my own fault of fillings falling out within a year. Bad business ethics in my opinion clearly they care more about the money they can get out of me rather than my own health.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Brenda was simply amazing I’m a big chicken I hate dentist my anxiety is ridiculous! She was just the best she listened she kept a calming demeanor she was soft spoken and just took the time with me! She cares about her patients! She went above and beyond for me to make sure I was comfortable she talked me off the ledge before the exam! She’s very thorough kind and NOT JUDGMENTAL!! That meant the world!!! I HIGHLY recommend her!!! Her assistant was just as kind gentle as she was!! I still hate the Dentist BUT I Love her!!

Fantastic experience: May I begin with this office is immaculate with the most comfortable and cozy rooms. The receptionist was so welcoming. My hygienist was Amanda I feel I struck gold! Amanda was extremely gentle doing my cleaning I was completely relaxed. She is truly an asset to Dental Associates. Amanda is professional, relatable, down to earth and extremely knowledgeable. Metra in the insurance dept. is a gem. Do yourself a favor and give them a call! Thank you I visited Dental Associates today. I needed a filling. Dr. Hootnick performed the procedure along with Jill, the dental assistant. The entire visit was comfortable and pain free. Dr. Hootnick gave the absolute best novocaine injection. The office is immaculate with the latest technology. The front end staff is warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. Make your appointment today!

Negative experience: Was hoping to like this place but they are not very helpful with dealing with insurance. I have been going back and forth with them to have them submit a full written report to my insurance so that they can cover a treatment I had done here. 3 different reps on my insurance has confirmed that my plan does cover the treatment that they provided however due to the lack of narratives on the claim, insurance denied it for lack of reasons and support. I was on the phone with my insurance company when my insurance called the dental office and ask them to submit a written report but the dental office refused to submit another written report with the full details and only wanted to verbally tell the rep which makes no sense since the insurance rep was not the claims department and would still need it in writting. Not sure why this dental office is not willing to cooperate to submit the full detail report but my insurance company told me that because the dental office was not going to help that I should submit and appeal on my own. When I asked for my medical records and clinical note for all my visits, I also saw that it did not paint the full picture unless this was all my records and this would make sense on why the insurance company was asking for more details. Just a bad experience and now they want me to pay another $200 to the $900 I already paid because they didn't submit the detailed report to my insurance company. They also trying to gaslight me in saying that my insurance is lying but what they sent to me for my medical records was also very lacking in details for what they treated me for.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been patients at Dental Associates for over 25 years. “Highly Recommend “ The new location is Beautifully constructed. The Staff is very professional and caring .

As someone who gets anxious he has always made sure I feel comfortable. He’s efficient, explains things and is just very good at what he does. Today I had an emergency and was accommodated within a few hours and I saw Dr. Soltero for the first time. She was SO kind and empathetic. They made sure to get me an appointment with the endodontist for the rest of the care I needed and got me out of pain all in the same day. Highly recommend this practice!

Negative experience: I had temporary and permanent crown on for same tooth, both fall off after a few of month, however you still need to pay when you come back to fix it. I will give 0 start.

Very spacious, beautiful, and clean place to get your dental work done. I was experiencing a big problem with my partial and that needed immediate attention. Called their office and explained the whole thing. Dr. Lewis Hootnis was very kind to attend to me immediately. Believe me, no exploitation, no extra charge, no pain or suffering or delay in bringing relief to me. This is one of the many reasons Dental Associates are rated the best and are in business for many years in Quincy, Mass. That is why, I recommend all my friends and relatives to this place. Mitra, office mgr has always provided me with information from the insurance company's end and how it's related to my dental needs. Mitra shines with her words of wisdom, care and concern and when I leave I have peace of mind and reassurance. Dr. Le, a gem of a periodontist, was very instrumental on my implant journey as she had performed an intense, successful bone graft. Dr. Le, caring and compassionate, made sure I was healing properly in the months after. A bump in the road delayed my implants but Dr. Le came up with an alternative solution. I'm very appreciative for Dr. Le. Amanda dental hygienist, is excellent and has taken care of my periodontal maintenance. She's very informative on various dental procedures. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Hem, who performed with precise, over the top perfection during my long awaited implant. Dr. Hem explained every step of the way and the why behind the what. His calming demeanor and sense of humor even made my visits pleasant. A special thank you to Dr. Hem's efficient, knowledgeable assistant, Kerry during this process and to skilled, eagle-eye, Frank. Again thank you, Dr. Hem for giving me back my "happy smile"; I'm over the moon!!!

Fantastic experience: This has been my dentist my whole life (the founder was my mother's dentist when she was young) and this is about the best experience I've ever had. Dr. Le is amazing...despite extraction of a damaged tooth and installation of a bone graft for ultimately getting an implant, I have no swelling and little pain even after the Novicane wore off.

Fantastic experience: Having been rejected to get an implant procedure about 10 yrs ago due to the fact that my gums were too close to my sinus, I have given up hope on having it done until years later when my husband's co-worker went to get his done with Dental Associates. Under the care of Dr. Le, he got his teeth implants with no problems at all. Him being a very good friend and co-worker of my husband, with him briefly mentioning that I was looking for a dental implant specialist, he recommended this practice. I went to see the same Dr that he had, Dr. Le. I can guarantee that she is one of the best specialist in their practice. She is very precise, meticulous and very professional. I also want to thank her staff for all their hard work on making sure I am well-informed and calm during my procedure. Negative experience: I took my parents for a simple teeth wash which is 100% covered by their insurance. My parents' previous dental forwarded the their images too. Before the appointment, Dental Associates checked their insurance and told us everything is covered. But two weeks later then sent me an adjustment bill charging $100. They added a few charges that the insurance does not 100% covered. They also charged my mom for an Image fee. I asked them, they say they didn't find my mom's image from previous dental's email at first. Although they found it later, but they already did the imaging work. Also, at the end of the appointment, the doctor suggested them to do a deep cleaning without much check on their teeth condition and told me, she cannot do further checks before a deep cleaning. I told them my parents just had a deep cleaning last winter, I don't think it is a good suggestion. But she said that is fine, the insurance allows doing it if it is not within the same year. I told them to give me a quote before we make a decision. One week later, I received the quote, which is $400 for each person after insurance. The cost of deep cleaning for my parents last year was less than a hundred after insurance. I don't know why their charge is so much.

Negative experience: I had an emergent need for an appointment for a very specific issue. They got me right in, fixed me up, and Justin and the rest of the staff did all they could for me. Well done guys. ***** An unfortunate follow up. I changed my review from a 5 star to a 1 star. The office was supposed to order a particular drill bit to permanently fix the problem I initially went in for. They were to call me when they received it. Time passed so I proactively reached out to them again regarding the bit. They ignored my follow up and left me hanging. Incidentally, this delay caused many more problems which ended up costing me $1000’s more than it would have. The office staff is inept, disorganized and not patient focused. There are plenty of dental options in the area so I’d strongly advise locating a different dental office for your needs.

Negative experience: I went to this dental office for two and a half years. During that time they found nothing more serious than a possible spot on one tooth. After moving I got a new dentist. Today, just eight months after my last checkup with Dental Associates, I found out I have two cavities at the gum line, one pretty deep. I am facing gum surgery and fillings at best, tooth removal at worst. Dental Associates are quacks.

But the moment I got back I made sure to schedule myself with them again. Great service like I remember. Italia is my dental tech and she always does an awesome job.

Additionally, Italia provided check-backs throughout the procedure to make certain I felt OK. As a result of my positive experience, I'm currently on a waiting list to have my upper and lower left quadrants worked on by Italia. John B. P.S. The entire Outer & Inner Office Staff is friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this Practice for anyone seeking Dental Care.

Fantastic experience: I am new to the area and was in the market for a new dentist. I called and was given a date a few months out, but requested to be on the cancellation list just in case something came available sooner. Not even 5 minutes after ending the call, the receptionist gave me a call back and asked me to come in that day. All of the staff, from the receptionists, hygienist, to the dentist, were fantastic. The scheduling and intake processes were seamless. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: It was such a clean, friendly facility and I got to my appointment right on time. My hygienist was very patient and kind, as someone who has admittedly not gone to the dentist for a few years, and was a new patient, they made me feel right at home.

Negative experience: I had a different experience to other reviewers here. I had an issue with my implant so wanted to get it checked out. When I called their office, they tried to push me to setup a cleaning appointment first instead of looking at the actual issue. I declined, but this just felt wrong. While some of the doctors seemed nice, I did not have a good experience setting up follow up appointments. They also messed up one of my insurance claims(which got declined) and blamed the insurance company for it. I had to get on hour long calls with my insurance company and had to help this practice file the claim correctly. Almost always had to wait past appointment time to be seen by the doctor. Wish I had a better experience with this practice.

I appreciate how she took a lot of care with my cleaning so as not to have too much bleeding of my gums because of my existing medical condition. So sorry to hear that Dr. Rossman is retiring. I hope that whoever the dentist will be to take his place will be someone that I will like

Fantastic experience: When I said I had anxiety about dental procedures, they made sure to check in with me frequently to see how I was doing. The cleaning was really gentle and the filling I had to get went as well as it could (I'm still afraid of drills). But overall a lovely office, everyone that worked on my teeth was fantastic, and I'm happy to have found a new dentist!

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Dr Rossman’s for over 20 years. I found Remi to be consistently the best communicator in positive ways and to be very encouraging and informative. She has taught me several tips to keep my oral health optimal. She always puts me at ease and explains procedures in language I can comprehend. However. I did find it upsetting receiving a phone call - 30 minutes before my appointment time - I was literally ready to go out the door - to learn how much my dental expenses had increased!! Having no dental insurance I would’ve hoped for some earlier notification! After arriving for my appointment I learned Dr ROSSMAN refused to see me because I opted not to have “a full set of X-rays”. That was upsetting as well. I’m on a fixed income, age 80 and need some time to put $604 together for my dental care! Honestly - I felt threatened! I rescheduled for a 6 month appointment so I can afford the appointment and exam by the doctor.
