Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We absolutely LOVE this pediatric dental office! Every single person on the team is amazing, and the doctor has such a wonderful chairside manner with the kids. You can tell they genuinely care about making children feel comfortable and safe. I especially want to recognize Denisse, one of their dental assistants (DA). I’ve managed and consulted for tons of dental offices over the years, and when I tell you that good DAs like her are HARD to find, I mean it! She is truly a superstar and such a gem to their team. She is gentle, patient, and fantastic with children, and honestly, she is every office manager’s dream. She knows her stuff, is attentive to the treatment plan, and you can tell she genuinely understands what she’s doing and why. That level of skill, compassion, and professionalism is something you don’t come across every day. Denisse, you go girl! You’re amazing at what you do, and this office is lucky to have you! All of the ladies in the office have been wonderful to us. We actually drive from Winchester, VA to bring my son here, and we will gladly continue making the drive because the care is THAT good. If you’re looking for a pediatric dentist where your child will be treated with patience, kindness, and genuine care, I highly recommend them! ❤️

Negative experience: I took my son to this pediatric dental office for a routine cleaning, hoping the child-friendly environment would make the experience enjoyable for him. Unfortunately, the visit fell short of expectations. The staff seemed indifferent to my concerns about his dental care, making assumptions about our home brushing routine without engaging in a meaningful dialogue. They even misrecorded his date of birth and failed to review his new-patient paperwork, which contained the same information they were asking for. When we were called back, we were seated in regular office chairs instead of patient chairs. I expressed that I only wanted a cleaning, explaining that my son, who was asleep, is a light sleeper but has remained calm during previous appointments. Despite my reassurances, he became upset during the procedure, and Dr. Brodkin appeared more focused on hastily completing the cleaning than on my son's comfort, even scolding me in the process. This lack of professionalism and the dentist's rough approach left my son anxious and uncomfortable. Overall, I cannot recommend this practice due to their unprofessional behavior and disregard for my child's well-being. I will not return, as our current dental office provides far superior care and expertise. The only reason I chose this practice was due to my busy schedule and needing to schedule a last- minute appointment today.

Fantastic experience: We had such a wonderful experience at this pediatric dental office! Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional from the moment we walked in. The office is very clean, organized, and kid-friendly, which made us feel comfortable right away. The doctor was so kind and gentle with my daughter, and Denisse was absolutely amazing! She was super friendly, patient, and made my little girl feel so special and cared for during the whole visit. You can truly tell they care about their patients and go above and beyond to make children feel safe and happy. I highly recommend this dental office to anyone with little ones. They are doing a fantastic job here, and we are so grateful for the excellent care!

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best dentist we’ve been to for our children! I have 6 kids and they do a fantastic job of getting them all in so I don’t have them on different days. They’re extremely flexible and easy to work with! The front desk, hygienists and dentist are great and so friendly. They explain everything and it never feels like they’re pushing or trying to “overtreat” in fact they do whatever they can to minimize and make things easier and less stressful for the kids! 10/10

Fantastic experience: Today was my 18 month old's first dentist visit and Hero Pediatric Dentistry made it fun and easy! Right when we walked in the door, everyone was smiling and so kind. We only sat for about a minute before we were brought back. The receptionists and the dental assistant both welcomed us for our first visit. There are TVs with cartoons in the lobby and on the ceiling of the dental chair room to keep little eyes preoccupied. I was worried my baby would be afraid or uncomfortable, but she didn't cry once! Dr. Erika was very knowledgeable and didn't push beyond my baby's comfort level. Plus, she got TWO toys! Hero Pediatric Dentistry has made our whole family fans!

Negative experience: I had a disappointing first experience with Hero Pediatrics Dentist. They called and asked if I could come in 30 minutes earlier than my scheduled appointment, but I couldn’t make that work. I ended up arriving 20 minutes late due to traffic, and they refused to see me — even though it was my very first visit. When I arrived, I was told, “It’s our lunch time,” and the staff was dismissive and rude. I understand running late isn’t ideal, but some flexibility or professionalism would have gone a long way. Not a welcoming environment for new patients.

Fantastic experience: My daughter had an amazing experience at Hero Pediatric Dentistry! The staff was so kind and patient with her, making sure she felt comfortable the entire time. The dentist explained everything in a fun and gentle way, which made her feel at ease. She especially loved how they let her pick a prize at the end! She left with a big smile and is already excited for her next visit. Highly recommend for kids!

Fantastic experience: Our first visit to Hero was for a dental emergency. Dr. Brodkin got my daughter in as a new patient immediately and had her fixed quickly. The facility is clean, the staff are amazing, and the environment is kid friendly. My youngest says she’d rather go to the dentist than the park… so kid approved!

Fantastic experience: This pediatric dentistry is unlike most other that we have encountered. My kids actually enjoy coming here. The hygienists are great with toddlers and younger children, which makes the whole experience SO MUCH easier! I was concerned about some problems we have been encountering with one of my kid's teeth, but Dr. Brodkin took a lot of time to talk us though some of the potential fixes and procedures we could do, which was very helpful. The atmosphere is incredibly child-oriented and kind and the kids are already looking forward to coming back.

Fantastic experience: Amazing pediatric dentist! They saw both of my kids at the same time and did a very thorough exam and were great about explaining everything to the kids and to me so we could understand well. My son is 2 and a half and has prior dental trauma and the hygienist was amazing with him!! He is a very clingy toddler and I usually can't leave his sight without him panicking but the hygienist was so wonderful with him and engaging him during the appointment he would have been 100% happy with being with her even if I wasn't in the room. She was able to complete his whole cleaning and exam without him being scared or crying. Very impressed!

Fantastic experience: We’ve been bringing both of our boys (ages 4 and 2) to HERO Pediatric Dentistry after our previous dentist recommended we find a more kid-friendly practice. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed! The superhero theme throughout the office immediately caught their attention, and they were excited to be there. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful, making the whole experience smooth from the start. They guided us to our room and even let the kids pick out toys, which helped keep them calm and happy. The hygienist was absolutely wonderful—so sweet and patient with the kids. She took the time to explain each tool and never pushed them to do anything they weren’t comfortable with. It made all the difference in their experience! The dentist was equally amazing. She was kind, thorough, and took the time to explain everything she was doing. She was understanding and didn’t force anything the kids weren’t ready for, making it clear that we could try again next time if needed. We’ve already scheduled our next cleanings, and I’m confident that this will be our dental home for years to come. We are not just a number there which we have felt at other dental practices. Defiantly try out hero dentistry you won’t be disappointed!

Negative experience: I took my 5year old and 3 year for the first time to the dentist. I chose this dental practice bc of the reviews and it looked kid friendly. I will say they have a lot of fun prizes for the kids and some game monitors in the waiting room which is nice. The dental hygienist Monique was the highlight of the day. Monique was so gentle, caring explained everything to my daughter and made her feel comfortable. My husband also took our 3 year old afterwards and had good things to say about Monique. The reason why I would not return to this practice is because of the dentist, Dr.Brodkin. She was very cold did not have a demeanor of a person who should be working with pediatric patients. I asked her about some recommendations for oral care and she brushed it off by saying whatever is in stores. I mean that’s why I’m asking you a professional what’s best I already look at what’s in stores but besides her short and annoyed responses. I did not like the way she was cleaning and checking my daughter’s teeth she seemed rough and not gentle. I have no clue how this practice has any good reviews with a dr like this working with pediatric patients. My husband also experiences a callous dr.brodkin. After asking him what he thought of the dr, he also mentioned how unpleasant her demeanor was and wasn’t gentle with our 3yr old. We are not going back. Thank goodness for Monique, she was the only thing that made our appt great. I’d avoid this practice because you’d expect a pediatric practice to have drs who are good with kids.

Fantastic experience: I have been taking my now 3.5 yr old son here since he turned 2. The doctors and techs have been wonderful and made both him & me totally comfortable. The Front desk ladies are also so kind and helpful. He had two cavities filled last week and was calm watching a movie on the ceiling the entire time! He even asked when he gets to go back to see the dentist….cannot recommend this office enough!!

It makes it easy coz it is near my house plus kids school that way they can finish their check up n go back to school. My twin boys get service pretty much the same time. They have multiple doctors and are absolutely incredible with the kiddos. Plus have cool games for the kids while waiting and have TV on the ceilings for kids to watch while they are getting their fixed as well.

Positive experience: My daughter was a new patient here today, and I really wanted to love this pediatric practice because of how close it is to where we moved and all the great reviews on google. I will say that the practice seemed pretty high tech, clean and modern and the staff and our hygenist today were great. If you’re ever afraid of forgetting your appointment date or time, they will send you a ton of reminders (more than you need). My issue was more so with the dentist we saw, Dr. Brodkin. We wanted our daughter’s first cleaning and at a new practice to be pleasant, but that was not the case. My daughter who is only 2.5 years old was not introduced to any of the tools gently or in a fun manner that I feel like children at this age should. She has only been to the dentist twice prior (18 months and 2 years old). Those two visits at our old practice only did teeth counting. I did not feel like Dr. Brodkin was gentle enough. She used the scrapper to remove my daughter’s plaque (which sure was needed), but I wish she would have taken a little more time to introduce the tools and instruments that were going into her mouth, before quickly clean it. She cried loudly during the whole cleaning, luckily it was over fairly quick. Dr. Brodkin was not even sympathetic that my daughter was crying, and tried to rudely tell her to stop crying immediately after the cleaning, so she could give me further instructions. The recommendations were helpful, but I still did not appreciate how my daughter’s experience went. I did not leave with a good feeling and unfortunately don’t plan on returning. I hope my daughter is not traumatized for future dental visits and would not recommend this practice for babies or toddlers. Although our old practice is much further away, smaller, and less modernized, we definitely felt like we received better care there and the doctor was great with young ones.

My daughter was in pain and they moved some things around to make it a sooner day. They even added my other kids that were on the schedule with her so that I didn’t have to go different days. They’re great! If you’re hesitating about scheduling this is your sign to make an appointment with them!
