Fantastic experience: They make sure to give the kiddos the best experience while at the dentist. They will use code words sometimes when speaking to parents cause just sometimes hearing about what's gonna happen can be intimidating and kids needs to have the best experience when it comes to a Dentist office. They are more scary then Dr. sometimes lol

Fantastic experience: Everyone was wonderful and very patient! Highly recommend for sensitive kiddos and parents. The Dentist communicates with the kids so well, letting them know everything they're doing and why. My son doesn't want to leave even after the work is done! The waiting area was perfect for littles, with separate areas and lots of books. We love everyone here<3

Positive experience: My son had another great experience at Acorn this morning; he did phenomenal and sat still, letting the staff work on his teeth (and that included the extra time it took getting the calculus off, something we were not expecting) with all the sensory input and verbal instructions. But to give credit where it's also due, the Acorn staff are very polite, patient, and clearly care about their patients. Thank you, Acorn Dental Edgewater!

Fantastic experience: We were thankful for an honest opinion on our child's dental decisions. We did not want to pull 2 teeth unless necessary and the dentist helped us work through the options well. Very thorough information brought us to our conclusions today for our child's teeth not to get pulled at this time but rather wait I would highly recommend West Salem Acorn Dentistry in future.

Fantastic experience: Quick, thourough, honest and kind. Thats how I would describe this clinic! Dr Tim did amazing with our 3 year old and removing a small mass from their gums. The Anesthesia team was just as kind and patient, if anything happens in the future I would trust Dr Tim and his team to do amazing work.

Fantastic experience: Staff was friendly and attentive, explaining steps as they will happen, which is important for my son. They had a cancellation so they offered to take care of a couple things since we were already there. Which was very helpful! My son is less nervous going to the dentist now and of course always looking forward to getting his coin at the end of the appointment.

Fantastic experience: my child typically has a very hard time during appointments but we had a great experience it was awfully quick and informative they made it a friendly positive experience for my child.

Fantastic experience: Today’s visit with my son was his first and I was overly impressed with facility & service. Everybody was super professional and kind, and the staff did an excellent job of making my son’s dental visit as smooth as could be. They even gave my daughter a sticker and toy at the end and she wasn’t even seen today!

Positive experience: Good, but will age out your child without warning, so it's good to plan on changing dentist around age 10.

Fantastic experience: From the front office staff to the hygienist to the doctor, everyone was so good with my 3yo son on his first dentist visit ever. They really put him at ease and engaged him in the process. I was amazed that they got X-rays, cleaned and flossed his teeth, got an exam, and polished the flouride so smoothly and without stress! Totally recommend this office!

She is so patient and kind, no pressure to try anything she wasn’t ready for. Dr.Tim was fantastic! So friendly and kind and he made my daughter feel so comfortable. The front desk staff were great as well, very professional and friendly. I can’t say enough about how consistently great all of our visits have been. Thank you all so much! Highly recommend especially if you have a nervous kiddo or one with special needs. They can handle anything!

Fantastic experience: This week we had an emergency dental situation with my son and needed to get some work done while under anesthesia. My son is terrified of the dentist and has adhd, autism and behavioral issues. All of those are extremely heightened at the dentist. If you’re a parent that can relate you can understand the stress behind a child in pain and knowing what the future holds with taking them into the dentist. As soon as we came into the clinic the staff members noticed my struggles and my son’s anxiety. Starting with the receptionist all the way to our amazing dentist we were treated with acceptance, empathy, and smiles. (I was holding back the mom tears watching the staff interact with my son and give him a tour of the place to help with his anxiety). That was the first visit. We soon returned for the procedure and of course the same concerns were there and heightened but the staff at Acorn continuously exceeded my expectations and ensured my son’s experience was positive but also productive. Thank you to all of the staff members at Acorn for showing my sweet boy such kindness and empathy. Especially thank you for all of the coins it took to get him in the back for his procedure. We have so many bouncy balls and he said he is not scared to go back as long as he gets more coins. ❤️

Fantastic experience: Was initially nervous for my son’s appointment as he does struggle with sensory issues and squirming when it comes to brushing teeth but they were very patient and time efficient with the appointment. Glad we went to this location!

Fantastic experience: My favorite thing about Acorn Dentistry is how they speak to my kiddo and help her understand the entire process of what work will be done. They engage her in her treatment, rather than talking about her as if she didn’t exist.

Played his favorite show instantly & was talking to him throughout the whole process of them looking at his teeth. Already have his next appointment booked. Thank you to the assistant and doctor.

Fantastic experience: My kiddo had a tongue tie and a lip tie. Staff was super sweet to explain everything to me and we’re super gentle with my daughter. Everything was super fast. If we didn’t live so far, this would definitely be our regular dentist

Fantastic experience: Last week my daughter went to a dental office and they were willing to let her leave without any treatment being done and wouldn’t be done for months despite being in pain. I called up acorn this morning (9/3/25) to get something done about it because I was tired of seeing my daughter in pain, they had an opening so we drove there and within 10-20 minutes of being seen, there was a treatment plan put in place and the treatment is needed ASAP. We now have an appointment to get her teeth fixed on Friday!! My daughter is so happy that finally after a year of going through this we finally found someone who is willing to put her first! 10/10 would recommend!

Fantastic experience: The entire experience was great. We got greeted with welcoming smiles from the receptionists to the entire staff. The staff did an excellent job explaining to my son what was to be expected and worked with him throughout the process. They made sure he was comfortable and continued to remind him that if he had any discomfort at any point, to make sure to raise his hand and they would stop. I am happy and know I made the right decision by having my children attend Acorn Dentistry for kids.

Negative experience: BE WARNED: we went with what they suggested after cleaning for follow up appointments. MIND YOU A LOT OF STUFF FOR JUST BABY TEETH. But we show up and an emotional 8yr old girl with first time tooth pull gets scared (like all children would, i mean c'mon?} ends up worrying the doctor who's in charge. {even though this whole appointment and steps after were suggested by same doctor} who then states because my child was emotional (but would deal with it like we all ended up having too, once again. C'mon) stating she didn't want to "traumatize" my child but then immediately suggests complete put-under from anesthesia in front of the child, ends up backing out due to seeing my frustration from non-understanding, to walk up. leave the room, and later maybe 5mins to come back in, telling us "it's ok if i didnt want to go through with all of it in her steps so to speak" that she would claim it's dental neglect and then "let know to who all needed be" know of this situation. All because we went there within appointment times, wilful acceptance of prior appointment suggestions. But once a doctor starts getting pushy on all of the "necessary" procedures" needed to be done and you decline. THEY WILL THREATEN dhs and cps about the fabricated level of intensity of a customer rejection on unnecessary operations. I"m no longer there, but if you choose to be. Take heed alright

Negative experience: Pushy sometimes rude don’t listen to your needs and talk over you. They harassed me with text messages for appointments along with calls, but when I need to call them they hang up and send me to AI. I know my child has OHP, but I think we should still be treated as A Customer with respect and dignity. Acorn dentistry wants me to answer all phone calls and answer all texts and fill out all their paperwork before my child has come but doesn’t have the same respect to help me with paperwork with my child in need of a service that they recommended for him. Keep this in mind if you wanna take your child here.

Fantastic experience: My children have been coming here since their first time at a dentist. Really good with the kiddos and today Dr. Tim help my son out with his baby tooth and finally got it out! This team is amazing!

Fantastic experience: Gentle, caring, genuinely nice to me and my children. They helped my daughter with her lip tie and dental issues that came with her disability at birth. Our family dentist kept refilling and neglected my son’s gums. We had to get an extraction and his mouth is feeling so much better! Dr. Leila is my favorite person for saving my son and daughters years of dental issues!

Negative experience: Make sure you reply to text message appointment reminders or they will cancel your appointment without you knowing. Also, showed up for appointment and the front door was unlocked, but clinic was completely empty for 20 minutes with no staff on premises. Completely open clinic with alarm sounding entire time. This business has run down hill since it opened. The clinical operations have greatly declined. Doctor is sweet, so is staff, but overall process is a joke. We will be transferring care to a different business.

Fantastic experience: Everyone was great! My daughter said it felt like the first day of school she was so nervous. By the end she was laughing with the staff and got a lot of value out of the recommendations they made. It was a very positive experience especially for my daughter who left realizing she had nothing to be nervous about.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Akbar is the best pediatric dentist we have ever been to! He is extremely patient and understanding to my son’s needs. My son is easily triggered by loud sounds and new things so the dentist could be a scary place for him. But that is not the case here. Dr. Akbari is kind and patient. He explains everything he is doing to my child so he knows what to expect and does not get scared. In addition, I really appreciate how thorough they are with explaining the treatment plan, and what our insurance will cover so there are no surprises afterwards. I appreciate the forthcoming nature of this pediatric dental office. I highly recommend! Thank you Dr. Akbar!

Fantastic experience: They do a great job helping kiddos and parents feel comfortable and confident with oral health and maintenance. We’ve never been ‘scolded’ for imperfections, only encouraged, educated and given tools for improvement. We rarely see the same practitioner twice, but that’s never been an issue for our family. They can get backed up sometimes, but that happens everywhere from time to time. Alternatively, when I confused our appointment time and was 15 minutes late, they made it work without a fuss. The hygienist we had today deserves a trophy and a raise for her patience (and persistence) in helping my kiddo complete his preventative treatment. These folks help a whole lot of families in our area, grateful to be among them!

Negative experience: I wouldn't recommend this acorn dental to anyone, the dentist was rude, condescending, refused to speak to me, the mother, she was very aggressive with my child with anxiety, and canceled last 2 appointments and sent us elsewhere after I did a survey about how I felt about their service that day. Unprofessional and rude. Not kids friendly.

Fantastic experience: My son always loves going to the dentist. They make it so fun for a kid to come here - they have toys, movies playing, and earn a token they can use at a machine to get a toy. My son can’t wait to go again! The service is also quick and easy. Never had a problem with waiting past my appointment time or scheduling an appointment. Doctors are also gentle. One huge plus is that they have tvs on the ceiling so kids can watch a tv show or movie of their choosing.

Negative experience: So done with this place. My 4 kids have been going to acorn for about 4 years. Through all the staff changes, new locations (been to all of them) and remodeling. Since we really only have to deal with them a few times a year I just deal with the crappy front desk staff. Not after today. After my 2 hour drive in traffic for an emergency appointment them calling me before my appointment time even started (HELLO I’m driving!) trying to pull into the parking lot. The front desk staff is my last straw. While waiting to be seen I finally made the moves and scheduled all new care appointments with a new provider for my 4 kids. By Acorn it’s never been great! Especially this location.

Negative experience: It’s been over a year since my daughter’s traumatic appointment at Acorn Dentistry in west salem. It still keeps me up at night thinking what happened to my poor daughter. She was screaming stop as the dentist pulled three of her teeth and then lectured me on how I traumatized her. I was asking the dentist to stop while she was screaming. I was shocked that she pulled three teeth. The plan was to pull one tooth at a time (at separate appointments) because my daughter was extremely scared of the dentist. I’ve called and complained and no one called me back. If there is a way to file a formal complaint against the dentist that did this to my daughter I will be doing so.

Positive experience: The hygienist did great with my daughter who has quite a bit of anxiety around teeth cleanings and dental work… my daughter came out with clean teeth, no tears and kind words for the hygienist! We appreciate you Acorn! (The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because I have to fill out a whole new set of forms before every visit for each of my 4 daughters… most of it is redundant and unnecessary.)

Negative experience: Such a frustrating experience. Had appointment scheduled on two different occasions. First time they called 3 hours prior to appointment to cancel. Ok. Things happen. When I went to reschedule they didn’t have anything for weeks, didn’t even attempt to get us in, even though it was their need to reschedule. Second appointment, I showed up with my four year old and the clinic was shut down for the day. Sign placed on the door. They did NOT call to inform us our appointment was cancelled. I took time off work both days, and both days were wasted. I understand things happen, but for this to be a reoccurring thing, and to not even get a phone call (I rechecked missed calls and voicemail) is beyond unprofessional and inconsiderate. I wouldn’t waste my time. We will definitely be going elsewhere.

Negative experience: They were running about 35 minutes behind today. When you add in the time from check in it made a really long wait. The appointment went fine when we were finally seen.

Negative experience: EDIT: Originally, this was a great place but has gone downhill recently. They haven't fixed the toys in the waiting area, and last time, they got a chemical on my daughters skin that stained it black.

Fantastic experience: They did amazing with walking my son through the appointment. They worked with him as he doesn’t like the taste and texture of tooth paste, and let him do the appointment how it makes him most comfortable. Can’t recommend this location enough. Thank you everyone that worked with my son today you are amazing.

Positive experience: The Dentist my son saw today wasn't his regular Dentist, and we are so thankful it wasn't her. Dr.Archer saved my son from going through an unnecessary procedure due to Dr. Lilia's misdiagnosis! We are forever grateful for Dr. Archer and wish he was at the West location permanently, because I won't allow Dr. Lilia to treat my children ever again. Again, we are so thankful he was filling in today, and took the extra time to make sure my son's tooth was really in need of the feeling and crown (it was a simple xray from a different angle) which it wasn't! He saved my son from going through the trauma and anxiety of all that, and saved us money we didn't really have to spend! He should be the standard all your dentist's should operate under. He is FANTASTIC! He gets the 5 star rating, but Dr.Liliah at the West Location I would NOT recommend to anyone!

Negative experience: **Revising my review a year later** I stand behind this part of my initial review: Very patient and kind to the kids and thorough in explaining things to me. Genuinely care about kids and do a great job of making my nervous ones feel comfortable. HOWEVER--this place can't manage paperwork to save their life. They tell me conflicting info about my insurance coverage/acceptance every time they call me. Scheduled appointments last fall that they made me reschedule FOUR TIMES due to them stating that my insurance coverage kept needing a longer waiting period. They called to reschedule me the morning of these appointments. After I had already excused my kids from class, arranged my workday around these appointments, etc. Every time we go in, they treat me like my kids are brand new patients without a single piece of paperwork on file, so I have to re-fill out paperwork for FOUR kids with the same repetitive stuff they should already have on file, like their name, b-day, my name, my phone number, address, allergies, health history, etc. I asked them today if I could just update an old form, since literally nothing has changed in the less than 6 months that it's been since my kids came in, and was told "No, we are following the doctor's requirements--we have to have you start it over." Where is the logic in it being a doctor's medical requirement for me to re-tell this office my kid's name and birthday over and over and over as if they don't know it? So obnoxious. I'm over it, and finding a new dentist after their visits today.
