Negative experience: Here is a clearer and more professional version: Each staff member provides different information, and important details are not documented in the system, which means I have to explain my situation repeatedly. The operator told me that she could not schedule an appointment because I am assigned to the Hillsboro office and must continue working with them. However, this is different from the information I received from the Hillsboro staff. She also stated that cleaning appointments cannot be scheduled online, even though the automated phone system directs callers to schedule appointments online.

Negative experience: They have mistreated my cousin who is a traumatic brain injury survivor. Lied to me about the benefits being used up on xrays alone… they have done nothing but xrays and the benefits are used up? We had an appointment today at noon they closed for the day due to lack of customers after we already had an extraction scheduled. What a joke. Run from this horrible company. Official complaint filed with Oregon Board of Dentistry if you have a disabled person they are rude and lack compassion for their clients. Shameful.

Fantastic experience: The girls in the office they were very polite. They took care of my information right away and I don’t have to wait too long. The doctors were already waiting for me. They did a great job

Fantastic experience: I have been using Brightnow Dental for over thirty years in Salem, Oregon and the 82nd Ave location in Portland, Oregon , I have been very satisfied with all the service received. Currently I am having my first implant......Dr. Kumar has explained the process in detail . He also took the time to answer all my questions . This is my first time with Dr.Kumar , he is friendly and very professional . Prior to this doctor l was a patient with Dr Lucio for about 7 years. I will continue to come to Brightnow Dental as long as I need dental care...lol One of the best facets of their Dental services is the prices..... Almost missed that one.... I also appreciated the music Dr. Kumar used as he worked it helped to relieve my stress at having a tooth cut out and a bone graft . I hope this helps anyone considering Brightnow Dental.....as far as I am concerned they are the best.

Fantastic experience: Brite Now Dental & Orthopedics is friendly and quick with great procedures. The temporary crown fit perfectly and looked like a real tooth.

Negative experience: My spouse and I went here for what we thought was a cleaning but ended up being a checkup involving X-rays. My spouse was told that he had over ten cavities, which surprised and concerned us because six months prior we had a cleaning and checkup from a dentist elsewhere who told us our teeth were healthy without cavities. We then went to a different dentist to get a second opinion and my spouse was told his teeth were indeed healthy without cavities, which therefore confirmed our suspicion that Bright Now! was not doing their job correctly. We will not be back.

Negative experience: Rushed, unhygienic, didnt use XRAY protection, dentist coughed directly over my open mouth when he started, techs bickering and missed things because they were bickering, lots of cross contamination, rough with the xray attachment, and very sales pushy, felt very rushed and unseen. Not recommended.

Fantastic experience: Every other dentist in the area is open irregularly or was scheduled way out. This establishment is open regularly and got me in quickly. Dr. Kumar and his assistant Rose took my concerns for myself seriously. It was refreshing to feel heard and taken care of. The care was kind, professional, and at reasonable price. Bright n Now Dental is the only place I will be bringing my dental needs to.

Fantastic experience: I just had my first visit to Bright Now! Dental. I was really impressed! I needed to get a tooth extracted, which I was not looking forward to. Dr. Kumar was awesome as well the rest of the staff. One of the best dentists I've ever been to. If staff see this, please pass along they are doing an amazing job!

Negative experience: my mother in law pre paid for implants and had died before implants could be adjusted been working on refund for a year now dont expect any help local office staff is rude

My experiences with him and his team have been consistently friendly, responsive, and helpful. My most recent procedure also included Rose, who took great care to keep me informed and be helpful to ensure I was comfortable during my procedure and aid me when I was anxious.

Fantastic experience: Excellent service. I was a traveling healthcare professional in need of a crown and root canal. They got me in fast and really showed they cared about me. Dr. Lin and Maria were awesome. Even thinking about making them my primary dentist even thought I live 1000 miles away.

Fantastic experience: This place doesn’t have free coffee, a TV to watch as you wait or fancy office. It does have dental hygienists, dentist and office staff who are great at their jobs. The kicker is for dental work, it’s all reasonably priced. I highly recommend this business.

Fantastic experience: I recently had an appointment here at bright now dental I wanted to share my experience because it was truly outstanding since the moment I walked in the door. The 2 front desk ladies are truly amazing They always greet everyone with welcoming smiles , they are the hearts of this place . I cannot thank doctor kumar enough he is an amazing doctor he’s always able to get the job done same day.

Negative experience: I regret my experience with Dr. Kumar. In my view, several restorations were placed without adequate removal of carious (decayed) tooth structure or proper isolation of the field. After noticing persistent sensitivity, I sought a second opinion; that exam documented active decay under recent fillings and recommended retreatment. Placing composite over incompletely cleaned lesions is contrary to accepted standards of care because it traps bacteria, accelerates recurrent decay, and risks pulp involvement. Beyond the technical concerns, I also felt the informed-consent process was lacking. Key options (e.g., caries removal to sound dentin, use of rubber dam isolation, staging vs. same-day multi-surface restorations) were not discussed, and post-op symptoms were dismissed. Taken together, this reflects a pattern of substandard, and frankly concerning, clinical practice in my case. I’ve since transferred care, had the affected teeth retreated properly, and my symptoms have resolved. I’m sharing this to help others make informed decisions: ask detailed questions about caries removal, isolation, radiographic confirmation, and follow-up plans before agreeing to multi-surface fillings.

Positive experience: My hygienist was great! Always thorough and listens to me. I’m not a fan of having to pay for fluoride or cancer screenings as my union insurance has always covered it before. It’s still a great value for me though.

Negative experience: Horrible dental care. Dont come here. Desk staff is cold and won’t acknowledge you when you come in, dentist wants to do unnecessary dental treatments and my filling came out after 2 weeks. Assistant didn’t use correct tray to make impression of my tooth for a crown and had to do it over. I wonder if it’s even a good crown? And it was painful for some reason, despite the shots…

Negative experience: I do not recommend anyone coming to Bright Now Dental. I had zero dental pain until the dentist, Samir Kumar, worked on my teeth. Something happened during the drilling because I needed to get a root canal (at a different location by an endodontist) afterward. How do you never have dental pain, get a cavity drilled and filled, and then suddenly need a root canal? And according to Kumar, I supposedly had cracks in my molar. My endodontist uses a microscope during the root canal and he didn’t detect ANY cracks in that tooth.

Negative experience: DONT GO HERE. The dentist (Samir Kumar) drilled a hole in my cheek and neither he nor the dental assistant would tell me. I went home and when the numbness wore off, I discovered the hole. I had to return to have him check it and he said he didn’t know he did it. Really? Our mouths/cheeks are vascular, it would’ve been bleeding and very visible! Also he said my molar was cracked, that two fully emerged wisdom teeth needed to be extracted and I needed a night guard. I had no pain in my mouth until this dentist worked on my dental treatment! After drilling and filling my molar I was in so much pain! As the assistant led me out of the room after my dental work she said I might need a root canal in my molar, that the dentist put some limelite in it and it might start hurting. WOW, yes it sure hurt. And I now had a hole in my cheek. When I mentioned my dental anxiety prior to this dental work, he said I could take medication and it would make me feel drunk. I didn’t think going to the dentist while feeling drunk was a logical reason to take the meds so I went without and I regret that. I never needed anxiety medication for dental appointments but after Kumar worked on me I need it. After this I’ve had a second opinion at a different dentist and I’ve learned that there are no cracks in my molar, I don’t need any teeth extracted and I don’t need a mouth guard. I ended up getting a root canal by an endodontist but my tooth had been fine until Kumar drilled into it. Then Bright Now billed my insurance for all of the work, including seating the crown, which was never done by them because I refused to return. And he got paid anyway. Union 555 members are offered a ‘deal’ to get dental treatment here. I strongly advise that you do not come here. It was not a deal worth having to get my cheek drilled, bad recommendations and end up in pain when I had none before.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kumar & his staff from the front desk to all dental assistants are wonderful! Highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good dental experience.

Negative experience: Do not go here! I have given this office so many chances. Never again. I went in for two crowns. The front desk only scheduled me for a one hour appointment which is hilarious because I was there for 4.5 hours. That’s not an exaggeration! My appointment was a 2 pm, I left at 6:20 pm. The tech had no idea what she was doing and refused to ask for help because “I should be able to do my job”. From taking regular X-rays, to operating the machine to take digital impressions for my crowns, to making temporary crowns (3 different times and lost one) this tech just could not get it together! What a joke. After my final crowns come in. NEVER AGAIN! What a complete joke!

Negative experience: I'm only giving 1 star because 0 isn't an option! AVOID THIS OFFICE LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! Now my experience is from Dec of 22 I lost a front tooth and needed to have it taken care of stat. This off being in my network they got me in right away which was awesome. After taken care of me they asked my wife if she was on insurance and if she "had money left to spend" we weren't sure what they were talking about so they informed us that each person on insurance gets so much money to spend every year and it being the end of the year we should spend up some of that money. I am a union employee and they have to call the union and the union agrees to pay right then not later! So they took x-rays of her mouth and made an appointment for the following week. 2 days after they did my tooth it started to become infected. I called this office and the doctor was out for the day so I called the other offices and also was informed there was no openings or doctors available. So I ended up having to go to the urgent care which was fun in of it self you know being lectured for being there after I had already made to attempt at contacting the ones that messed it up to begin with! The wife decided that with all that happening she did not want to go to this doctor's office, I agreed and canceled her appointment 2 days before hand. Fast forward to Feb of 2025 and they have begun sending repeated bills at almost $200 that "wasn't" paid for by insurance. Not only that the office staff had absolutely no idea what was going on they thought I was there for something completely different then I actually was there for. For all I know they didnt code my wife's stuff correctly and thats why I "Owe" all tbe sudden! STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE!!!!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here two years for teeth, cleanings, and love the service I recently chipped my front tooth and was really scared what might need to be done or what it might look like They got me in within 24 hours. The dentist was amazing when he got done with a 10 minute procedure and no Novacaine my smile was back to normal. You could never tell it had been chipped I highly recommend this dental office.

Negative experience: I went here in April of 2024 for my annual free exam and cleaning. I was told during my exam that I had about 8 or 9 cavities that needed to be removed which was news to me especially as someone with extremely careful dental hygiene, who rarely eats sugar, and had no dental pain or discomfort. I didn't argue though, I just figured there must be something I was missing. Then I found out they didn't do the cleaning on the same day, which is fine. I asked them to schedule my free cleaning. I was informed that there was the free cleaning or the more in depth cleaning and they would not be able to tell me which one I needed until they were actually in there doing the cleaning which made no sense since they had literally just been in my mouth doing the exam. Anyways, that was enough of a red flag for me to pause scheduling anything and walk out. I waited for my benefits to reset and then finally made it into another dentist. I have 2 cavities (barely) that may not be ready for fillings for years and only needed a basic cleaning. Guess those 6 cavities just disappeared into thin air? I don't know. I'm not a dentist. Anyways. I just wanted to warn others to get a second opinion before dishing out thousands of dollars to have your teeth drilled into for no reason if it doesn't sound right.

Fantastic experience: Super great service, expert doctors and technicians, appointments easy to make, wait times short — I can make an appointment within two weeks from my phone call, and they don’t limit when you can make appointments or how many you can make ahead. The Dental clinic I used in the past would only allow you to make an appointment within 30 days from when you called. But they were always scheduling at least two months out. I was supposed to have periodontal treatment every four months but because of scheduling problems, it was every five or six months.

Negative experience: Not helpful at all! We have a friend visiting from out of town who lost a bracket and needed a quick repair done. Tried calling on Saturday because they are supposed to be open 8-5, no answer. Drove across town only to be told that they were about to close, at 3pm, even though the door still said 8-5, and they don't have anyone to do orthodontics on the weekend anyway. If they would have answered their phone and told us that we wouldn't have driven all the way across town. The girl at the front desk reluctantly made us an appointment for Monday afternoon and took all of our information. We then get a call this morning that they can't see her because she's not a patient, even though it was very clear Saturday when we made the appointment that she was from out of town and only needed the small repair done. Terrible customer service.

Negative experience: Went in last year for a cracked silver filling right before the holiday. Paid, and had insurance. They drilled part of the filling out and didn't clean it out well either. They filled in over part of the original filling instead of completely removing it to ensure the cavity was completely taken care of.. A year later, my new dentist has to try and save my tooth after removing the remaining silver filling as well as the filling they added here. I'm also getting calls and letters about a new balance after everything was done and paid. Stay away

Negative experience: I went in for simple X-rays and an extraction for a very loose tooth and paid for that up front knowing my insurance would pay for the X-rays next thing I know is I’m getting a call from a collector’s agency saying I owed them almost $200, never got a bill or phone call from Bright Now Dental so I decided to call them and we did get it squared away but the receptionist was also very rude about the whole ordeal so beware of them over charging you, needless to say I won’t be back

Negative experience: Would give negative stars if I could. Went there for a cracked tooth. They told me I would have to have multiple things taken care totaling $2000 of even though I told them I ONLY want the one cracked tooth taken of. All they wanted to talk about was their "WE HAVE FINANCING. WE HAVE FINANCING". Like they get a bonus for every financing they do. Edit: After leaving this review, I was contacted by a very nice lady who even admitted to me that this location is being investigated for their shady business practices. She escalated me to her supervisor, who was also very nice. She refunded me my co-pay and tried everything she could to get me to go to another location. Sorry, but no.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience with Bright Now Dental they really went the extra mile. It was a Friday and my crown came off and I called them never having been a patient before and they were able to get me in the very next day and take care of it and tell me why the crown came off turns out I had a cavity at the base of my tooth which they filled for me!

Fantastic experience: I have anxiety about dental work, but this office set me at ease. They talked me through everything, every step of the way. The hygienist stayed close and reassured me when she saw how nervous I was. She helped me breath through the anxiety. The dentist listened to me about my past experience and made the necessary adjustments to my treatment. Their "bedside manor" was the best I've had for my own personal dental experience!

Negative experience: It took a lot longer than necessary for my appointment to be completed, long waits. Weird music from their sound system changed when I made a comment. Apparently, there was some computer glitch. When the exam finally arrived, it was fast and efficient. Not a horrible experience but it took almost an hour and a half when it should have been less than 45 minutes.

Negative experience: This was my first visit there establishing a new dentist. When I came in I stood at the front desk while two of the receptionists were talking like they were on a break and neither one of them said, hello we will be with you in a minute they just ignored me for several minutes while I stood there. Finally one of them casually came over and just started asking me questions. It was very unwelcoming. It gave the impression of not professional at all. Dr Kumar was very nice. He told me I needed 1,000 dollars worth of dental Work right off the bat. I’m not saying he’s right or wrong but two different dentists I’ve seen never mentioned anything of the sort. So, I have questions is all. I had to change dentists because of insurance. That’s why I gave 3 stars. I’m just not sure. Updated. Now after my second visit months later I’ve downgraded my review to 2 stars.. MAYBE. The front desk girls don’t have a clue what they are doing. I was given inaccurate information about my insurance coverage and because of that I ended up paying hundreds more. I don’t know what I think of the dentist. He works fast and kinda sloppy in my opinion. So it leaves me wondering how good he is. He might be just fine but because of his front desk girls I won’t be going back ever again.

Positive experience: Drs Kumar and Lin are pleasant to work with and both seem to do quality work. Office staff is polite, but does occasionally have a billing issue that needs correction. Scheduling and communication are good. Pricing is very competitive.

Fantastic experience: My crown from a different practice had broken and I no longer had dental insurance. I called Bright Now and they got me in the same day for an evaluation and the next day for my temporary crown! The dentist and all the staff were very skilled and caring. Because I am a retired nurse and former ONA union member the cost of an exam, X-rays, and a replacement crown were SIGNIFICANTLY less. Plus they offer other discounts as well for non-union members. I highly recommend this practice!

Fantastic experience: Had to come in for wisdom teeth extraction. I am a BABY. They even saw me cry when I was told I would be doing this awake, not under. The dentist was very kind and supportive through the whole process. The hygienist that checked my pocket depth had such a light hand I barely felt what she was doing, the last dentist I went to it HURT when they went to do that. Even getting numbed before the extraction was VERY quick and barely felt anything. Last dentist made the numbing not fun what so ever. Even though this is an hour drive for me, they have definitely gained a new patient. They helped me understand cost before treatment and walked me through every step. If you have dental anxiety, THIS is where you should go. Thank you guys for being so kind and awesome today. I know I wasn’t the easiest patient.

Positive experience: Dentist was great he did my fillings fast and got me out within an hour and 10 for 5 fillings. Though, they should tell you the true pricing instead of the what the paper they have you sign. I had to pay more than what I signed for on the paper.

Fantastic experience: So far I have just went for my initial consult which included X-rays and a brief check in from the dentist to make a plan. I have adhd and intermittent depression and brushing my teeth has never been a habit and is a self care task I often drop when my mood is low, that on top of that I now have a heightened gag reflex and a tooth brushing aversion from being very nauseous during my pregnancies and then lapses in dental insurance….so I was very anxious about my appointment. I just let the dental assistant and the dentist know up front and they were super kind. I now no longer feel as anxious about going back and getting my needed cleaning and work done. I look forward to a better relationship with my dental health here!

Fantastic experience: I had an old filling fall out and my dentist had retired. I called them and they got me in quickly. The phone number went to a call center, that booked my appointment in Salem. I downloaded the paperwork ahead of time and had it filled out when I arrived. They gave me estimates of prices and gave me an order of things to be done. They had both dentists and orthodontics available at this location. The Dental Assistants and Hygentists seemed happy and there was laughter in the office. They ran on time and were kind. I appreciated that they didn't give me a lecture about not being to a dentist in a while.

Positive experience: July 2024 visit not so great but. Parting ways with Dr Lin, 'his way only & what he wants or... ' .. but hopful to use Dr Kathleen who gave painless shot my last visit for extraction , other clients speak great about and she has a great personality!! Update 2 other visits: had emergency extractions, . Aug 2023 1st visit...Great! Never felt needle!! I called for an emergency!! The other dentist advised me to do so. BecauseThey could not help with current pain for a few weeks.!! I cannot say enough about Dr Lin and other Dr kathleen & staff!! Professional, personal, caring and REAL. The best is they listen and responded with compassion. I was in pain and got relief.. He Didnt want to talk "businees and $17k future work to be done" . I found a new dentist!! The BIG THING!!! I NEVER FELT THE NEEDLE!! Well, the one on top in the roof and bone yea but ,... miminum. Im impressed!! That is not easy!!! Love em here!! TY

Fantastic experience: I was so pleased to have exactly what I was wishing for, the dentist is so warm and welcoming. The hygienist was so kind and helpful. Rose did a fantastic job on my composites, I think that's what it was called. I am so happy to smile again! I have been pleased always, over the years, with the whole staff of Lancaster Bright Now Dental!

Negative experience: I was happy with this office for quite a while. My last visit was because a $1200 front veneer they did fell off. I waited 47 min to be seen. Then this new doctor tells me it’s $200 to reattach. I was angry because they did poor work. Dentist said it wasn’t his fault it came off and that is why he was “only charging me for the glue.” $200 for a spot of glue? I refused to pay. Plus I’ve never been happy with my front veneers. Didn’t fit right and the color is too dark. Go for cleanings, but if you need real skilled dental work, pony up and pay for a real office. Not a mall.

Fantastic experience: The dental hygienist, Kathy, has excellent skills and patient communication. She was so friendly and caring along with having a positive and energetic attitude. I also engaged with the front staff on this visit and they are always helpful and kind!

Fantastic experience: There is so much positive things I can say about this place. I have had major dental pain for years and no dentist have been as nice and waned to help me as much as Dr. Kumar. I highly recommend this dental office, all the staff has been amazing.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful visit at the dentist. They had everything ready to go. They were very caring, excellent teamwork they made sure I wasn’t feeling any pain. The procedure went quick and very professional an understanding, they are wonderful people that make you feel very comfortable with what you’re getting done. I would definitely recommend them .

Fantastic experience: I haven't been to the dentist in over 20 years but from the moment I walksd in, the staff made me comfortable. I don't have any insurance but they have a membership plan that was only $79 for a year and got me free exams and xrays plus 20% off my procedure! I ended up needing a crown and Dr. Samir Kumar was able to do it for me immediately. But first he took images of my teeth and explained everything to me. He was so sweet, checking in with me the whole time, and super fast! I couldn't believe how quickly he removed my old crown and put a temp on. And that was after he filled a few hidden cavaties! From the start, his knowledge and competent demeanor put me at ease. His assistant (Jenn or Jess I think. Ugh, sorry Jenn/Jess) was kind and attentive and made sure I wasn't drooling all over myself . The whole experience was painless, affordable, and actually enjoyable. Thank you Dr. Kumar AKA SuperDentist!

Fantastic experience: I got a new patient appointment within 24 hours. I saved over $400, getting an exam and 18 x-ray images for $59, which were sent to my email and to another doctor if need be. I was able to schedule online. I waited less than 5 minutes in the waiting room to be seen. Dr. Alexander Lin went above and beyond to teach and advise. He even offered to squeeze me in the same day to perform a complex root canal and multi-cavity filling surgery because my situation was dangerous. He then went even further in excellence, and ordered an anti-botic and pain reliever, even though it was just a $59 exam and x-ray visit. Every other dentist in my whole town could not see me for at least a month, even with paperwork indicating high level emergency. They are open on Saturday and evenings. The front desk is attentive and responsive. I will never go anywhere else again.

Fantastic experience: Dr Kumar and the rest of the staff were amazing. They made it easy for me to come in and voice concerns and worked with my schedule to get me the best treatment possible. I highly recommend and will continue to send my family and myself to this office.

Fantastic experience: Both the Dentist (Dr. Kumar) and his hygienist (I believe her name was Ale or maybe Aley) were very helpful and exceptional with their work. I will be looking forward to going back, and when the dentist is a topic of conversation, those words usually aren’t spoken. But with the care and work I’ve received, I’ll gladly make time to go back to the dentists.

Negative experience: I am not going to leave a long drawn out post as I feel the pictures speak for themselves. You can tell that this was not something from one day of an office being open. The filth and disgusting nasty is just unacceptable. This is the buildup, and this is long-term. This is not being taken care of and we are calling the Oregon health authority to turn this in. . This is unacceptable and for the amount of time that the staff were sitting around chatting things could’ve been cleaned we left the office with no intention of having any tools put in our mouth. We will be looking for a new Dentist.
